B&B Hart van Leiden

The location is absolutely perfect! The train station, Leiden University, and the city market are all a comfortable 10-minute walk or less. Tea, coffee, and toiletries were available. Monique paid attention to every detail. She was easy to communicate with, and even complemented us with a bottle of champagne upon arrival, which was a very nice touch. We highly recommend Monique's loft for a party of two or three!

sehr gut ausgestattetes Zimmer, sehr zentrale Lage, allerdings ist unser gebuchtes Zimmer nur über eine steile schmale Treppe erreichbar, mit dem Gepäck ist es etwas schwierig, aber sonst kein Problem, die Vermieterin ist sehr hilfreich, sehr schöne Aussicht auf die Altstadt von Leiden

Die Whirlpoolfunktion der Badewanne hat leider nicht funktioniert.

Die Lage des B&B ist wunderbar. Man erreicht in kurzer Zeit das Zentrum der Stadt. Die Räume selbst sind sehr gross und wunderbar eingerichtet. Auch die Sauberkeit war sehr gut. Die Gastgeberin ist ausgezeichnet. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit dem Erlebnis und empfelen es weiter!

Good location, large room, comfortable bed. Beautiful view onto the canal and pleasant terrace overlooking the canal. Monique was lovely and a great host.

The stairs were very manageable but note if you have difficulty with stairs or a large heavy suitcase it would be more difficult.

De accommodatie is prima. Dicht bij de stad Maar ik miste een plankje in de douche. En wat ook prettig zou zijn is een flesje water of wat fris. Is iets klantvriendelijker

A fantastic apartment with a great Location. The owner was very friendly.

Charming, comfortable room space and friendly hostess. Great location in Leiden (10-15 min walk from central train station; good area to walk to restaurants and shops, close to Leiden University spaces). We slept well, found the room to be cozy and very quiet, peaceful in the evenings. We loved looking out on the canal and having a nice start to the day. The bathroom for the room we booked is detached, but it was not an issue for us at all. The bathroom is private and just a few steps (literally, 3-4 paces) off the door of the main room. There were no other guests or people who were in the small upper hallway area between the main room and detached bathroom in our 4 night stay.

The stairs are indeed steep and narrow, and an important consideration factor for people traveling with larger bags, younger children, or anyone who might find the physical climb up and down challenging to do multiple times daily. Not for the faint of heart, but also traversable for a good majority of travelers with reasonable, smaller sized luggage.

Beautiful place, spacious and with everything you need. We stayed here for our wedding weekend and we everything went just perfect. Thank you again for the sweetest host. 100% recommend

The location was excellent; only a couple of blocks from the main shopping street, and 3-4 blocks from main tourist sites and restaurants. Very quiet location. Host was very friendly and helpful and communicated well with us. The room was very clean, roomy, and had all the amenities. AC would have been nice since we were on the top floor and it was was very warm outside, but the fans made it comfortable. I would stay again if we visit Leiden again.

Room is two floors above ground level and the stairs are very steep.

Black tea and milk for us Brits! I’m sure if we had asked though Monique would have supplied. So basically everything was perfect!

Our host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We arrived in Leiden mid morning after many hours of flying from NZ and it was so helpful being able to leave our luggage at B&B Hart van Leiden while we checked out the sights. Our room on the top floor had great views of the canal and we enjoyed watching the boats go by. The stairs were a wee bit of a challenge, but being a heritage listed building we accepted that they couldn't be changed and with care we navigated getting our luggage up and down.

The space was clean, roomy and had an excellent location and view. The space had a lot of charm too! The owner was very helpful!

The space could accommodate a single bed. It would be nice to have some way to separate the single bed from the main bed to give it a "room" type of feel. Maybe using a curtain to separate the space?

Great location in a quiet residential area but walkable distance to the old town and train station. Lovely 18th Century canal house with some beautiful original features. Our Hostess Monique was delightful and offered any assistance. Lovely view out the large windows to the canal. Supermarket nearby.

Our stay was lovely. Just a note to be aware of - we were on the second floor and the staircase is beautiful but quite steep and winding. Good to know if you are travelling with large luggage, but this did not detract from our stay.

Het was een prachtige locatie met mooi uitzicht over de gracht. De bedden waren heerlijk en het was lekker warm in de kamer. In de kamer werden we begroet met een lekker gebakje. In de badkamer was alles te vinden wat je nodig had. Per ongeluk je maandverband of scheermesje vergeten? Dit was allemaal aanwezig. Ontzettend fijn! De kamer was erg ruim en het hebben van een eettafel was erg prettig. Onze gastvrouw was ontzettend vriendelijk en gaf mooie suggesties voor restaurants. We konden zowel vooraf als achteraf nog onze bagage bij haar stallen om zo nog een leuk dagje Leiden te kunnen beleven. Het contact was erg snel en gemakkelijk. Deze accommodatie zal ik zeker aanraden!

Het is niet een tegenvaller, maar wel iets om rekening mee te houden. Het is een prachtig historisch huis met oude trappen. Als je slecht ter been bent, dan kan dit eventueel lastig zijn door de ondiepe traptreden. Voor ons was dit niet een probleem en we hebben echt heerlijk genoten van deze accommodatie.

Loved our stay. The host was lovely and her communication was great. Thank you for letting us keep our pram on the ground floor. It was a gorgeous room in a stunning location overlooking the canal, just a few minutes away from such pretty streets and neighbourhoods.

Perfecte ligging, mooie ruime kamer, hele vriendelijke ontvangst, heerlijk ontbijt. Alles tot in de puntjes geregeld!

Niets op aan te merken

Het ontbijt was heerlijk! De locatie is echt helemaal top! Prachtig aan het water. Fijn bed en leuke knusse kamer. De host was erg vriendelijk en het contact was fijn. Het corpus museum in Leiden was ook erg leuk!

Niks! We hadden er alleen niet op gerekend dat er geen tv aanwezig was. Dit zorgde eigenlijk juist voor een nog gezelligere avond.

Prachtige kamer, uitkijken op de grachtjes, met een heerlijke zon die naar binnen scheen. En hele fijne locatie! Bed lag fijn en een fijne, warme douche. Bovendien had de gastdame aan alles, echt alles, gedacht. Wattenschijfjes en staafjes, föhn, badjas. Alles was er!

Ik vind dar het absoluut charme heeft en helemaal bij de ervaring hoor, maar realiseer dat het een oud gebouw is. Smal trapje, gehorig. Maar absoluut niet hinderlijk!

De B&B is gevestigd in een prachtig pand en alles ziet er netjes uit. De ligging is erg centraal. Ook werden we heel goed ontvangen door gastvrouw Monique. Echt een aanrader.

Prachtige locatie midden in de stad, ideaal!

This was our second stay here. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about Leiden. The location is excellent, very quiet, overlooking a canal and in a traditional Dutch house. It is a short walk to the centre, with the Pieterskerk, museums, shops, bars and restaurants.

This is not a 'dislike' but please be aware that the stairs to the upper floors are quite steep - it is a characterful old house!

What a lovely and perfect stay! The host, Monique, is so friendly and kind. It was so nice to talk to her and she gave me ideas of places to visit in the city. She made me feel at home. The house is so beautiful from the outside and so charming on the inside. My room was big, super cozy and had an amazing view of the canal on the street. It was so relaxing to sit by the window and appreciate the view at night, after walking the whole day in the city. The beds were so comfy that it was hard for me to get up in the morning lol. The bathroom is outside the room, but right next to it. It was big and spotless clean. I loved everything and I definetely recommend staying at this place.

I was sad I had to leave. The B&B Hart van Leiden stole my heart.

Die Lage direkt an einem Kanal, weg vom Trubel und doch zentral war wunderbar. Das Haus an sich, die toll geplanten großzügigen Räume und die unglaublich geschmackvolle Einrichtung haben einen das sich wohl Fühlen leicht gemacht, genauso wie Monique, die freundliche Besitzerin. In vielen Bewertungen wird auf die steile Treppe hingewiesen. Wir waren zuvor in Amsterdam, wo manche Treppen mehr Leitern glichen. Deshalb war ich etwas besorgt. Aber die Treppen ging zwar um die Ecke, war aber für mich (keine Geheinschränkung) auch mit Koffer und großem Rucksack gut zu bewältigen.

The hostess was kind and really friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The location was wonderful, a walking distance from all the sights and the railway station.

Everything was perfect. The stairs to the room may be challenging for some but for us it was not a problem.

Moniqueさんの対応が素晴らしく、部屋が写真で見る以上の広さと綺麗さでした。部屋にはコーヒーや茶、ウェルカムドリンクなども充実しており2泊だけの滞在でしたが素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。日本人としても気になる点は何もないくらい素敵な宿泊施設でした。目の前には運河があるのでオランダを味わうには抜群の立地でしょう。駅からも徒歩で行ける距離なのでおすすめです。

特に気になるところはなかったです。 強いて言えば....建物の仕様上、仕方ないと思いますがトイレにドアがなく、カーテンで仕切ってあるので音が気になる場合は注意が必要かもしれません。ただ、トイレは少し離れているし、そこまで気にする必要はないかもしれません。

Wir können diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Wir hatten so eine schöne Zeit in Leiden. Das B&B hat eine tolle, zentrale Lage mit einem wunderschönen Blick aufs Wasser und die vorbeifahrenden Boote. Monique ist eine überaus freundliche und aufmerksame Gastgeberin. Sie hat extra für unseren Aufenthalt mit unserer 1,5-jährigen Tochter sogar noch einen neuen Hochstuhl gekauft. Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubereitet und sehr lecker. Sie hat sich zudem stets erkundigt, ob wir noch etwas benötigen und war jederzeit erreichbar.

The bathroom although for our use only was not in the room but on the landing outside the room. No AC & room got hot.

The room was very spacious and decorated lovely, bed was comfortable and the place was clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here! Fridge, coffee machine and a kettle all provided too.

A spacious and bright apartment on 2nd floor with two large windows facing the canal. All amenities and comforts are provided along with a separate bathroom with a shower. Note: there is no kitchen, only just some dishes, glasses and cups, a tiny fridge, good for drinks and for a simple breakfast, as well as a water boiler and a Nespresso machine. A groceries store is nearby, and we ate our breakfast in the apt. (A more elaborate breakfast is offered by the host).

WARNING: the staircase is VERY steep and narrow - like in so many old Dutch houses. If you are a little afraid of heights, or do not walk in shoes with rubber non-slip soles, then this staircase is dangerously steep and slippery. Also, you will struggle seriously if you want to carry a large heavy suitcase up or down these stairs - carry-on luggage or bags are no problem so long that you can carry them with one hand while walking up or down these stairs. The lady managing the apartment offered to carry something upstairs for us when we arrived, but as she seemed a little older than we are, we did not ask her for help. Other than this steep staircase, we VERY MUCH enjoyed our three-day stay at this apartment!

A beautiful spot along a canal. The room was beautifully styled and spacious.I had an ankle injury so found the stairs a bit tricky but normally they would be no problem. A good location and walkable from the station. Monique was very helpful and made early contact with lots of useful information

A lot of people may like a TV in the room

Wonderful host - she let us drop off our luggage early, had it carried up the stairs to our room, checked in with us to see if we needed anything and helped greatly by booking a taxi to the airport on short notice when we were confronted with a train strike. Lovely, spacious and bright room. Very comfortable for our group of 3. We appreciated the lovely bottle of wine left for us.

The open concept bathroom area was unusual but we managed fine with it. Works best for a couple.
