Amazing facilities, great pool overlooking Lake Toba. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Location is great, close to all the other guesthouse, restaurants and bars, but just far enough to completely relax. Room was spacious with a very good (warm) shower and a great bed! Would stay here again and definitely recommend this place, after looking around TukTuk i think its the best option!

Top accommodatie. Personeel zeer vriendelijk ondanks sommige zeer slecht Engels spreken. Schoon en zeer comfortabel.

Was een beetje raar. De douche werkte niet goed, zat geen druk op. Iemand gehaald en ja moest eerst de toilet doorspoelen en toen was er weer druk. Goed systeem. Het licht in de kamer is te vel.

This was our first stop in Sumatra & we spent 6 nights here to relax and get over our jet lag which was ideal - the beds were very comfortable, shower hot with good pressure, and the location was great - on the lake with the most beautiful view & within easy walking distance to plenty of nice restaurants. Although we really enjoyed the hotel restaurant & would recommend. Pool was a fantastic addition to our stay and the staff were so friendly - thanks to the whole team for wonderful holiday!

There are many mosquitoes and insects on the property... and someone used heavy chemicals to kill them as I can see many dead mosquitoes and insects on the floor. The grass needs trimming although the garden looks nice. The jacuzzi wasn't working when we were there. No one seems so be working on it. It's a bit quiet and no one around to ask for help in the middle of night as the reception is closed after certain hours and only opens around 6:30am. No phones in the rooms. Some rooms are without airconditioning. So be careful when you do booking as you need to pay for upgrading if you expecting aircon.

Le personnel est extrêmement aimable et disponible. La chambres était très grande, les lits très confortables. La piscine super, la vue incroyable. Le restaurant très bon. Taille de l'hotel agréable, très calme et paisible.

Le nettoyage des chambres au quotidien était un peu sommaire, manque d'espaces de rangements dans la chambre et dans la salle de bain (pourtant très grande). Des travaux de construction étaient en cours à côté de la piscine, ce qui gâchait la quiétude de cet espace de détente et de contemplation.

Heerlijke locatie en de mensen zijn er zo ontzettend lief! Er wordt goed voor je gezorgd, ze halen je op bij de boot, zorgen voor lekker eten en drinken, zijn geïnteresseerd en gewoonweg echt ontzettend lief. Je kunt ook via hen tourtjes regelen. Kamer is ruim en schoon net zoals de badkamer. Staat een koelkast, ruim balkon en geinige handdoeken. Ook voor het zwembad. Koffie en thee faciliteiten aanwezig en heerlijke bedden. Op kort stukje lopen genoeg eet en drink gelegenheden. Zwembad is zalig, je kijkt prachtig over het meer. Je kunt er heerlijke broodjes en drankjes krijgen van bier tot milkshakes en ijskoffie. Ook genoeg parasols aanwezig voor schaduw.

Het enige wat ik eigenlijk miste wat sfeerverlichting ‘s avonds. Een bedlampje had wel fijn geweest ipv heel fel wit licht in de kamer. Iets waar zij verder niets aan konden doen: er werd veel gebouwd rondom het hotel dus veel bouw geluiden.

¡Nos gustó todo! El hotel es bastante nuevo y es muy bonito. La piscina, el restaurante,...todo nos pareció ideal. Estuvimos 3 noches muy a gusto y sin duda repetiríamos. El personal es super agradable. La comida del restaurante muy bien de precio y todo buenísimo. Sin duda una de las mejores opciones para alojarse.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour chez Juma Cottages. La chambre est très grande et la salle de bain spacieuse. L'ensemble est très propre. Les lits sont confortables. Le buzz sur jardin et lac depuis la chambre était appréciable. Le personnel est aux petits soins et très aimable. Magnifique jardin et piscine très propre. Possibilité de louer des scooters. Bon petit déjeuner. Les repas sont corrects aussi.

This is a newly made cottage and hence rooms are new, a short distance 5 mins drive from the port, but the Juma team will pick you and your luggage, you just need to let them know the time your boat is reaching. Juma team take very good care and are helpful in terms of guiding you on the places to visit around, they even helped us with a one day package with a driver who took us around to key places. Nearby there is also a place you can visit for hiking and parasailing is also closeby. Juma team also helped us book a cab from the port to our next destination of Berastagi and proactively informed the driver to ensure that he helps us with currency exchange, which he did. Restaurant is also very good and staff are very helpful. We had a verty good time at Juma Cottages and wish the team very best.

We had a great time, so there is nothing what we did not like about the cottage.

Juma cottages ligt er prachtig bij. Geweldige locatie en heel fijn personeel. Onze dochter was behoorlijk ziek en we zijn heel goed geholpen. Ook was er lekkage in onze kamer. We kregen snel een andere kamer.

Een dag van tevoren werd ons medegedeeld dat er bouwwerkzaamheden plaatsvinden. Dit was eigenlijk best vervelend en hadden ze eerder moeten melden of iets moeten compenseren. Ook het ontbijt mag voor deze prijs echt beter.

Prachtige locatie.

Staff - super friendly and accomodating (picked my partner and I up from the ferry and also gave us a ride to the local bus when we were leaving) easy check in and out. Premises - beautiful, pool looking out over the lake. Walking distance to pharmacy, supermarket & nice restaurants/bars. The rooms were spectacular - large size, very clean with all relevant amenities (wifi, loo paper, towels, soap, fridge full of cold drinks, jug, tea, coffee and milk. Awesome balcony to look out and grounds well maintained with beautiful flowers. Highly recommend! Would absolutely stay again x

In general everything is fine

Jet skiing is not available at this cottage, so it has been moved to a nearby location. It would be even better if jet skiing could also be accessed from this cottage, given its direct access to the sea.

It’s quiet. Clean. Absolutely stunning lake view. Room was well maintained, clean and spacious.

Breakfast option like pancakes and and nasi goreng available. We love the place which is not too much crowded. Kids love the pool!

Small boutique cottage with beautiful view of Lake Toba. Very relaxing and peaceful. Infinity pool overlooking the majestic lake. A la carte breakfast. Simple basic but fresh. Very spacious room with balcony and quite clean. Nice decor and soothing colour. A few things were missing ie: No a/con or central ceiling fan. Mosquitoes were present.No hand towel and soap for the basin , we had to request one. Friendly staff and helpful. Secured parking area.

They need to clean up the foreshore as plenty of tyres and rubbish lying around next to the pool. Very visible from the deck.

De kamer was erg groot. Vanaf 1ste etage uitzicht op het meer. Personeel was vriendelijk. Werden vanaf de aanlegsteiger opgehaald door brommers om naar het complex te gaan en zo ook weer terug gebracht bij vertrek.

Er werd op twee plekken om (op) het complex gebouwd dus wel overlast hiervan. Het had gemeld mogen worden bij het boeken. Kamers zijn érg gehorig, werden al erg vroeg gewekt door de buren. Voor de prijs van het hotel mag je dagelijks nieuwe handdoeken verwachten, een kleding kast met voldoende ruimte en dagelijks nieuw toiletpapier/ water.

From the outside it looked terrific.

It had stairs to most of the accommodation which were difficult to manage. Totally non functional inside. Door to bathroom hung incorrectly. No TV. Very thin walls between the apartments. Uncomfortable beds.

Sehr schöne Lage. Das Personal was sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir wurden sogar von der Fähre abgeholt.

Im Bad hat der Gulli etwas gestunken.

Bel hotel, Grandes chambres très lumineuses et très propres. Le jardin est magnifique et très bien entretenu. Jolie piscine tres propre au bord du lac. Location d'un scooter très facile à l'hotel. Nous avons opté pour une chambre face au lac, à l'étage pour permettre une vue dégagée. Nombreux restaurant à proximité dans le centre du Tuk Tuk.

Le petit déjeuner était correct. Nous aurions préféré un buffet mais en saison creuse et par faible fréquentation, nous avons été servis à la carte.

Amazing relaxing view to the lake. Lot's of seating places and excellent location. Good service with a very good english woman that tried to help all our needs: from food via rent bikes and pick up to ferry.

Mainly that there are no non-smoking areas. Since there were heavy smokers in the place it was hard for me to always find a spot without the smoke. Especially during breakfast that forced me always to sit far from the kitchen in less comfortable areas. Balcony got dirty from olive (I have no idea how) and never cleaned during our stay.

Very nice Pool and nice Location at the lake

Breakfast is very Basic. For a powder Cappuccino you pay extra. In the Restaurant Fish and everything with Avocado was not available., so I went to another Hotel to grap some Food. The room was not cleaned, which was probably my fault because I did not leave the key at the reception. The Transport to the Harbour was quite chaotic. Everyone was telling me a different time, when the boat would be leaving, none of the times was correct. Then I was taken with my two sons by motorbike to the port. When two motorbikes had arrived, I was told that a third one is coming in two or three minutes. Therefore, I wanted to wait until the other one arrived and then go with my sons together, not leave them alone with the luggage at the port. It turned out, that a third motorbike was not supposed to come, and I was handled in a very unpleasant way, saying that we are a problematic guests. I told the woman that we would find a solution for everything, but if I am given constantly the wrong information, it’s hard to deal with it. I was already a little bit upset, because the staff had taken my personal belongings and wanted to bring it by motorbike to the harbor to leave it there without giving me any notice. So all in all the hotel is quite nice, also the location at the pool and especially the manager, tries to find solutions for problems. Altogether I would recommend the hotel. But the treatment in the end wasn’t very nice.

Het zwembad en de tuin ligt erg mooi aan het meer. De ruimte van de kamer is groot met een fijn bed. De medewerkers helpen goed en zijn vriendelijk.

De kamer is niet gezellig ingericht, eerder kil. Ontbijt mogelijkheden zijn er maar voor de prijs verwachtte wij wat meer.

- let’s start with location, the ferry doesn’t drop off at the property. So you get dropped off at some dirty port and are then taken by kids on the back of a scooter. This was never disclosed and definitely not appropriate. - NOT every room has AC despite the booking listing, this means the filters will not work properly when your are looking for properties with AC causing false advertising. When I brought this up with the property they gaslit me and attempted to say that it was basically my fault for not looking at that specific room’s amenities 🤦🏽‍♀️ - There is slippery tile everywhere including on the outside stairs and grounds and sizing of each outdoor step is uneven. This can easily cause someone to slip, fall, and break something. Not at all appropriate for those with disabilities or are elderly. - The room is large but nothing makes sense in it. The bathroom sink is too high up, can’t brush teeth over it. The toilet is too low to the ground, and the shower head pressure is so low. Hot water runs out quickly, and there was mold on the bathroom floor. The bed is too high up. No mini fridge, tea kettle is there but without any tea. Furniture was all kind of overused looking. The curtain rods were hung on crooked. None of it made sense and definitely did not give any luxury feel to it. It was all unfortunate bc this place has potential. This 3 stars would be considered a one star in the western world at best.

Unsere bisher schönste Unterkunft auf unserer Sumatrareise. Der Infinity Pool direkt am See ist traumhaft. Die Zimmer groß, top sauber und für Indonesien auf sehr hohem Standard. Das Personal ist sehr entgegenkommend und der Manager sehr engagiert, zuvorkommend und steht für alle organisatorischen Fragen zur Verfügung. Rundum eine top Unterkunft!

Lovely serene location just down the hill from the more built up area, but also close to a lovely walk past beautiful sights in the other direction. Staff were fantastic and really helpful. Food was excellent, and the rooms really are spacious and spotless.

Some live music played nearby went a bit late - though it was pretty good music!

Juma cottages is a lovely place, a great pool with a wonderful view, delicious food and great staff. We, especially our kids, loved this place so much that we stayed the whole time only in the hotel... we loved it.

The rooms are spacious, the pool is lovely overlooking the lake.

The staff did not interact or provide any information whatsoever during our stay. Very noisy building work is currently going on behind and in front of property. There is also a noisy road right by apartments. There are no mattress protectors, the room was not cleaned in the 5 days we were there we had to ask for fresh towels definitely not a place we would stay again
