Very bad WiFi connection in the room. Had to go to the reception area to get a decent WiFi connection. I would have given a score of 9 if it was not for the poor WiFi connection.

Excellent hotel with beautiful, modern design and amazing staff. We stayed in two rooms, one for us and one for our teenage boys. We especially loved the lobby with its gorgeous interior garden and free coffee. Our boys really enjoyed the onsen. The breakfast was exceptional: a great buffet combined with a wonderful selection of fresh Japanese dishes. Almost too much to choose from! Great location and everything felt very well considered.

The only question mark for us was the restaurant in the evening. It seemed quite empty and didn’t feel particularly inviting to sit down for dinner. This was a little surprising considering how excellent the breakfast was.

Everything was great! The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay!

As expected a good hotel in a quiet street with good food locations nearby (check on Tabelog), good breakfast that tries to show different aspect of the Japanese cuisine. The staff is very nice and always present. They focus on ensuring the guests are safe and can relax after a sightseeing day. Nishiki is not that far and the rest of the attractions should always be reached with public transportation like it’s normal in Japan considering how much surface cities cover in Japan. Interesting the extended luggage shipping service they have(quick shipping to the other Mitsui at the train station) but I didn’t try it. Again, next time I’m in Kyoto I will be torn between just going to Matsui again or trying another excellent hotel…

We had a wonderful stay, great comfy beds (but very little space for suitcases). Free water and coffees in the calm and spacious reception area. We really enjoyed the spa, my tattoos were not a problem either. Excellent location, walking distance to many interesting shops and restaurants, museums... The hotel staff were so helpful and arranged our luggage to be delivered to our next destination - seamless, worth every yen! Thank you!

立地が地下鉄駅やバス停から少し遠く感じました。荷物を持っていたので。身軽な格好であれば特に苦に感じない距離ではあります。

This hotel was in a really great part of the city, close to public transport, restaurants, supermarkets etc. It was very easy to walk everywhere. The beds were very comfortable, (not hard like a lot of places). Staff very accommodating and friendly.

ベットの硬さが、私には硬めで快適でした。 大浴場は、お湯が炭酸泉で気持ちよく、洗い場、シャワー設備もよく、女性の更衣室には、広くて長い長椅子とテーブルがあって湯上りにはとても助かりました。 フロント前のパブリックスペースに設置されていた、レモン（柑橘類）水がとてもおいしくて、暑い季節には助かりました。

チェックアウトがTV画面でできるとのことでしたが、操作マニュアルがなく困りました。せめてメニュー画面の説明書だけでも欲しかったです。セルフのコーヒーマシンも説明書なく、イラストだけではさっぱり？困って立ち往生しているのに、フロントの方は全くノータッチ、インバウンドの方に教えてもらってようやくコーヒーゲットできました。コーヒーマシンの水が無くなっていたり、レモン水も蛇口にレモンが引っかかってでなくなっていましたが、こちらから伝えるまでスタッフは気付かなかった。定期的に見回りメンテナンスチェックをしてはどうでしょうか。

El hotel es una auténtica monada y el personal es muy servicial en todo momento. Las habitaciones son espaciosas, con camas muy cómodas y un baño grande. Cuidan mucho los detalles: ofrecen un cable cargador con diferentes conectores, agua de cortesía diaria y unas amenities en el lobby perfectas, que incluyen café Nespresso y agua con cítricos gratis las 24 horas. El onsen artificial está muy cuidado y el desayuno está muy bien. La ubicación es céntrica, a 5 minutos del transporte público y a unos 25 andando de Gion. Además, da mucha tranquilidad la recepción 24 horas y el acceso a las plantas exclusivo con tarjeta.

No hay absolutamente nada que no me haya gustado. Sinceramente, si tuviera que volver a Kioto no me pensaría ni dos segundos volver a reservarlo. Como único apunte útil para futuros viajeros, es importante conocer bien la normativa de uso del onsen por respeto.

We liked everything. Higher standard. The location, the neighborhood, the design of the hotel, the service, the size of the rooms and the quality of its facilities. In our view, one of the best hotels in Kyoto for value for money.

Mitsui was clean and comfortable. Our whole family really enjoyed coming back to relax at the onsen. The staff were very pleasant and kind. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we stayed at another Mitsui in Tokyo.

We wished there were more laundry machines. It was a long wait.

お風呂から見えるお庭が、窓を開けないと楽しめない。お風呂のお庭をもっと工夫されたら、最高。 コインランドリーも混むので、3、5階だけでなく、もう少し増やしていただけるとありがたい。

Accueil chaleureux et personnel aux petits soins. Grand onsen sans vue (mais on arrivait du Fujiyama 😉). Lits confortables, multiples équipements (eau, thé, café, brosses, brosses à dents, rasoirs, même cotons-tiges en sachets individuels…). Très propre. Quartier calme, assez proche de tout. Fenêtre certes aveugle mais avec vrai rideau occultant appréciable pour dormir le matin.

Chambre trop petite pour 3 avec gros bagages (aucune place pour les mettre, il a fallu être inventif). Petit déjeuner trop copieux, il faudrait une version simple moins onéreuse avec de meilleures viennoiseries.

The bathrooms are pretty dated, felt a bit gross. It would also be nice if they had a few more amenities such as face wash, which every hotel in Japan had, they only provided toothbrushes.

最初に伺ったのは、10年ほど前だったと記憶しています。その後も何度か利用させていただきました。近くにはお気に入りの割烹居酒屋があり、そちらにも同じ頃から通っているため、この界隈には個人的にも思い入れがあります。 今回は久しぶりの宿泊でしたので、以前と比べてどのようになっているのか少し楽しみにしていました。実際に訪れてみると、館内は今も変わらず清潔で美しく整えられている一方、以前からの雰囲気や心地よさもしっかりと残っていて、「またここに帰ってきた」というような懐かしさと安心感を覚えました。 特に印象的だったのは、フロントの皆さまの対応です。どなたも洗練されていてプロフェッショナルでありながら、決して堅苦しくなく、自然な心配りで居心地の良さを感じさせてくださいました。 年月を重ねても変わらない魅力と、きちんと手入れされ続けていることが伝わる素晴らしい宿だと思います。また京都を訪れる際には、ぜひ利用したいと思います。

Практичное расположение в красивом районе Киото, удобно добираться до всех достопримечательностей, также рядом станция метро. Приветливые сотрудники, хороший завтрак, в номерах есть все необходимое, в том числе переходники для розеток. Приятно порадовали дрип-пакеты с кофе в номере. Чувствуется внимание отеля к мелочам. Мы с радостью вернемся в этот отель в будущем.

Chambre vaste, très propre, personnel souriant, très gentil et accommodant, accès à de superbes bains publics, emplacement idéal pour visiter Kyoto, près d’une station de métro. Le resto de l’hôtel, assez chic, offre aussi une délicieuse cuisine et le personnel y est très courtois. Nous recommandons vivement, en particulier pour les familles!

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Everything was simply perfect: the design, the aesthetics, and the cleanliness. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always happy to help. The breakfast was fantastic, the lobby was beautiful, and the onsen was a wonderful place to relax. I will truly miss this hotel. The only thing I had to get used to was the windowless room. At first, it felt a little unusual and slightly claustrophobic, but after a while I adjusted to it and it didn't affect my overall experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto.

地域柄仕方ないのだろうが､外の見えない部屋は閉塞感あった。

The room was on the 3rd floor and it was fine for the 3 days we were there. It was during the Gion Festival which was right outside the hotel so the timing was perfect. Daily housekeeping and the Japanese Bath were wonderful.

I don't think you could open the windows nor were there any views because the windows were fogged out.

We adored this hotel! The location was simply amazing. We didn't realize it at the time, but we had booked right around the Gion Festival period. The hotel is pretty much in the center of all the festivities, and we had a great time checking out the beautiful floats. Lots of yummy food and cafes nearby as well.

Phenomenal hotel. Upon entering, you are met with a lush, green garden courtyard and extraordinarily welcoming staff. This hotel is aesthetically pleasing and the rooms have a thoughtful layout. Free amenities (razors, toothbrushes, q-tips, etc), and FREE nespresso capsules in the lobby were much appreciated. Soaking in the carbonated water of the giant tub in the bathhouse was the perfect way to end the day… I slept so soundly, and look forward to returning. This was the BEST of all the hotels we stayed at in Japan.
