Breakfast was excellent with fresh ingredients everyday

Very very good hosts. Location is right next to the town just a 5 min walk. There is parking at the back of the property but only limited spaces. Have to do a bit of manoeuvring after breakfast depending who’s going out and about. Breakfast was amazing! Very accommodating if you want to alter some bits. 10/10 would stay again and plan to when we make out next visit.

The breakfast was good and wholesome. The location was very good for accessing the town and facilities.

We found the room chilly on a night, I think it was the time of year.

OK breakfast, clean room, nice with refrigerator in the room. Quiet area but still only a short walk away from Keswick town centre.

The bed was too short and there was no information in their website or in Booking.com about the unusual short bed. Luckily the bed was quite wide so I was able to sleep diagonally. At breakfast there were several offers to refill coffee or tea. However no offer to get more orange juice, the provided flask only gave us about one glass each. The direct heating of the water in the hand basin didn't work very well, the water was either to hot or to cold.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay here. The double room in the annex was cosy and homely. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was an extra cosy blanket and cushions. The shower was modern and worked great. The sink is in the bedroom but that’s not a big deal. The room was cleaned every day, with supplies restocked. There was plenty of tea, coffee, milk and sugar. Plus, tasty biscuits! We booked the small double and it was perfectly fine. We had a huge suitcase and lots of stuff with us and it wasn’t an issue at all. There are plenty of draws to use. The WiFi was great and there was a tv with plenty of streaming services/channels. Also, an extension lead was provided which meant we could charge all of our devices. We had breakfast every day and it was delicious. Breakfast requests can be made electronically via QR code or on paper. This really seemed to work well as it meant everything ran super smoothly at serving time. There are 5 parking spaces at the rear of the guest house, next to the annex. There was minimal car shuffling. Guests can arrange with one another whilst at breakfast. The location is great. The centre is within walking distance. The owners and staff were very lovely. We would definitely stay here again if in Keswick.

There is nothing that we didn’t like about the property. The only tiny thing was that the towel rail in the bathroom didn’t work. This is very much a first world problem!

Good location, easy to find and parking was available. Staff were helpful and friendly The room was clean and had a nice facilities box with tea, coffee and biscuits etc. The shower was good with instant hot water and the towels were very soft and fluffy. The breakfast were really good too.

The bed was very firm and the pillows flat so we didn’t sleep well. The mini fridge in the room took up too much space for an already compact room and was a little noisy.

Everything about the Ferndene was excellent,it was close to the town centre,Hope Park, and the Lake. The breakfast was superb with lots of choices,there was also private parking which was great in a busy town like Keswick.Would highly recommend.

The hosts were lovely, food was great. It's in an ideal location, being a 5 minute walk into the town for pubs, cafes, shops and buses.

I was in the annexe, room 5, which was lovely, however, I found that others who were staying in the annexe, instead of shutting the main door quietly by turning the yale lock knob when they came in at night just pushed it shut. This was disturbing as the door was next to my room. Maybe a notice on the door would solve the problem. Other than that, everything was great.

The owners and staff were friendly and helpful and the property was clean and well organised .Efficient WiFi at no extra cost. Nice touch to provide a fridge and wine glasses in room. Good breakfasts prepared to order.

Our double room was quite small although the space was well utilised and provided everything needed.

Friendly, quiet, comfortable bed with good quality bed linnen. Pleased there were vegetarian and vegan options on the breakfast menu.

The accommodation was very clean and the host was welcoming.

The only issue was that we were at the very top of the building and we both have some mobility issues. The attic room was very good, a small suite which was lovely.²

Location was brilliant, a 5 minute walk to the centre of Keswick and about the same to get out in the hills behind it. Breakfast was fantastic and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Bonus of having parking.

The bed was a little soft for us but that's personal preference and you can't please everyone!

Room 1 has a lot of stairs to climb, but fantastic views.

The service was excellent. You have to fill in a form for breakfast the next morning. We didn't fill in the forms because we planned to leave before breakfast started. The owner messaged to make sure it wasn't a mistake and offered to make our breakfast before the usual window started. It was a really nice touch.

The breakfast was fantastic. Loved the fact you could put your request in night before so you could sit and relax with all what you wanted already on your table. Ensure parking was all sorted for guests

Good location, easy walk into town and to the lake. Good options for gluten free and GF biscuits in the room each day which was a nice touch. Breakfast was relaxed with freshly cooked food. Very quiet at night, no road noise. We ordered packed lunch which was lovely. Also an option to fill your flask. Shower gel, shampoo, hand wash and hand lotion in bathroom and lovely big fluffy towels. Parking is limited as with most properties in town but we were able park on site. Really enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed In a few B&B's in Keswick and found them okay, but we found ferndene exceptional from arriving to leaving, very clean we had the annexe room 8 very spacious lovely walk in shower which was ideal for me, menu is left the evening before in your room to order what you would like for breakfast which is a breakfast that will set you up for the day, But a big shout out to Duncan, Ziggy, and breakfast staff they are so polite and friendly will stop what they are doing and chat such a homely feeling. Location a few minutes walk from the premises to the town centre, views beautiful, we had no problem parking at the property. Looking forward to next visit.

Comfortable facilities in a good location within walking distance of everything in Keswick. Has its own car parking spaces for guests, which is handy. Friendly hosts.

Keswick way busier than we remember from when we used to visit before. Even though there are dozens of restaurants, we found it hard to get into a place for dinner on our first night without a pre-booking.

Fabulous guest house, the owners could not be more friendly and accommodating, and the location is perfect. We stayed in room 1 on the top floor, spacious, clean and comfortable with stunning views. Fantastic breakfast cooked daily, just how you like it, a great way to start the day.

Breakfast was phenomenal, the owners were polite, delightful, very welcoming and helpful always. The room was well stocked with amenities, a kettle for making tea/coffee etc.

I would have liked a mini fridge to keep drinks cool, as well as some food items which we intended to bring back from our trip. We understood that the owners preferred guests not to eat meals in the room but the lack of a refrigerator for drinks would be my only minor complaint.

The staff were very friendly and lovely to talk to. The breakfast options were vast so you could tailor your breakfast to you liking. The room was warm and the shower was great. Considering the size of the team who runs the guest house, it was kept spotlessly clean.

The hot water tap in the faucet didn’t work but that was because the boiler was broken. The staff told us that they are upgrading all the plumbing in the rooms so this wasn’t really a problem. Breakfast is served 8:30 - 9:00 and because we had an event to attend at 9:30 each morning, an extra 30 mins for breakfast would have made mornings easier so we wouldn’t have to dash about to make it in time

The bedroom was quite small which because of the heat made it very stuffy. On the plus side a fan was provided but if I was booking again would definitely try to get a room with king-size bed

Lovely Breakfast and Staff were lovely and very efficient. Room and bed was comfortable and nice view across Town and Skiddaw.

Parking at the back, although good, if you arrive as one of the first and want to travel out you could get trapped in if others aren't. We were lucky it wasn't much of an issue on this occasion

Værelset var rigtig godt og med gode badefaciliteter. Personalet var super flinke og morgenmanden helt i top. Beliggenheden i Keswick er meget central til både byen og søen. Virkeligt et godt sted.

Deres internet kunne godt være lidt hurtigere. Streaming var i perioder noget vanskelig.

Mostly good location Breakfast and facilities were good except for problem with parking. The whole area has a big problem with parking for hotel guests. In our case we parked at the side of the house, but immediately found ourselves blocked in with other guest's vehicles. We pretty much found ourselves unable to get out easily for 3 days. The owner was very apologetic but he was pretty much unable to rectify the situation without 6 other guests having to agree to move. Apart from this the whole stay was very good.

We had a full English for the 3 days we stayed and it was delicious! The breakfast menu was a fantastic choice and if there was anything you wanted that wasn't on there, the owners said let them know and they would accommodate if possible! Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were friendly and polite and it was all the little touches that made it a lovely stay! Highly recommended!]1

Breakfast was 8 30am, would liked to have an earlier start but to be fair we didn't ask if we could have had it earlier, so maybe we could have, but wasn't really an issue.q

The hosts were super kind and helped us with the early checkin request and keeping food in fridge. They have a lovely dog named Billy who is very friendly. The room was perfect for a couple, but a mini fridge would have been a nice addition. Overall our stay was great with fresh hot breakfast served between 8:30-9am but the parking situation could have been better as we had to move our car if someone needed to leave the place. I would definitely recommend this place as it was 5min walk to the town with lots of options to eat.

Very friendly clean and comfortable. We had a double room with a view out the back towards the mountains. Nice breakfasts and one morning we were out before then so we were provided with bacon/sausage baps and fruit to take with us.

Only one small niggle - the light above the shower was not working - but it didn't bother us.
