Swiss Star California - Self Check-In

Lo único buena es la zona. No quedaban plazas de aparcamiento pero encontramos en una calle cercana zona azul, que en Suiza funciona con un reloj. La entrada cuesta de encontrar. La chica de la limpieza muy maja.

Nos dieron un código erróneo, mandé correo y nos volvieron a mandar el mismo. Puse una queja en Booking y entonces ya me mandaron el código bien. La cocina muy vieja, no funcionaba y había encima un hornillo eléctrico. No habían apenas utensilios de cocina. Una almohada muy manchada de sangre, se lo dijimos a la de la limpieza y nos dijo que estaban lavadas, qué asco! Menos mal que nos pudo dar limpias. La mampara de la ducha rota. Da sensación de abandono la entrada y la escaleras llenas de muebles

Nothing to like about this place.

The place is extremely poorly maintained. The furniture is so old and worn that it looks as though it was picked up from the street. The curtains—where there are any—are filthy. Overall, the conditions were completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

kapotte gordijnen, te klein dekbed (1-persoons op 2-persoons bed), kapotte verlichting in kamer (draden staken los uit) en in de gang (daar was het permanent pikdonker. Moest een zaklamp gebruiken om de code op de kamerdeur in te toetsen). Veel rommel in de gang. Geen nooduitgangen. Voelde onveilig. Waterkoker onbruikbaar wegens te grote stekker. Ik heb dit per mail direct gemeld bij de accommodatie.

Camas confortables , todo perfecto en relación a limpieza , calidad de ropa de cama . Éramos 3 chicas y las tres coincidimos que era un lugar muy tranquilo , con ducha , Jacusi , yo lo recomiendo además el transporte está a 2 min

La ubicación

Estudio viejo, de mal acceso y construcción deficiente (el suelo estaba con bastante desnivel). Con elementos en mal estado, como los apliques de luz. Falta de utensilios en la cocina. La limpieza deja mucho que desear, pero, claro, una sola persona encargada del edificio, no puede hacer mas....(por cierto, Caterine, muy atenta y voluntariosa).

Simple self check-in: we received the entry code via SMS the room had everything working correctly, but quite old and not well mantained

the furniture is quite old and very worn out the kitchen was not cleaned correctly: all the kitchen doors were dirty there was no water heather that would have been useful for coffee or tea

The TV di not work, the shower and the tap did not drain water, dust was everywhere. Internet plug was damaged. One of the kitchen cabinet door was missing. The overall priva was too high for the poor quality of the room. And please, put realistic photos in booking.com !

Keittiöistä puututtui vedenkeirin,yhtään kattilaakaan ei ollut, että olisi voinut keittää teetä. Myöskään kahvi tai teekuppeja ei ollut. Vain kaksi pientä lasia. Ja haarukoita vain yksi. Tietokoneelle ei löytynyt kunnon pistorasiaa, vain yksi, johon pistoke olisi mahtunut, mutta se oli rikki, vaarallisen näköinen.

Mold, unsafe, unclean, terrible staff. On arrival: the door to the central area was open, anyone could walk in. The door to our appartement was open. Upon closing it we couldn't get back in as the provided code did not work. There was mold in our first room. We called customer service, they did not want to transfer us as the hotel was "full". Upon contacting booking.com, they managed to somehow managed to find me a new room, next to the old one. Mold, broken shower... We called again. The lady on the phone got angry with me and told me to just sleep in the mold. We left immediately. We did not get a refund from the hotel nor booking. Insurance and other options to get your money back are kinda impossible as this is not an EU country. Even the Swiss Ombudsman couldn't help us. AVOID.

Postel byla dobrá a internet dostatečný

Poslali mi špatný kód a když jsme se snažili dovolat na emergency číslo na bráně, nikdo velmi dlouho nebral jen automat až nám došli kredity. Pomohl nám náhodně oslovený soused, který opakovaně volal asi hodinu. Pak poslali nový kód a ten fungoval. V pokoji je nedostatečné vybavení kuchyně: 1 talíř, 1 hrnek, 1 kastrol a pánev, málo příboru a jen stará el.dvouplatnička, lednice a dřez, nic víc. Musel jsem si opravit lampičku nad posteli, která vysela jen na odkrytých drátech, klika na WC se rozpadala, v koupelně je jen malinké umývadlo, nejde se tam mýt (sotva ruce tam strčíte), navíc neodtékal kanál, na sprše visela jedna část skleněných dveří jen silou vůle, prkénko na záchodě bylo uvolněné, zabudovaný fén padal ze zdi, byla k dispozici žehlička, ale nebyla tam zásuvka pro její připojení, v celé místnosti jen jedno svítidlo, žádná skříň na odložení věcí... Parkování na malém dvorku je za 20 CHF za noc.

The most appaling booking we have ever stayed in and exited as soon as we could after a horrible night and no sleep. The place is simply unacceptable : - The bed covers were full black dots- which turned out to be pieces of synthetic material from the old headboard covers which was so old and run down it was coming apart. the cover had our skin itching so much that we tried we to cover the bed with to somehow try to sleep and avoid allergic reactions or bites from whatever was causing the itching. - the old curtains fell off when you tried to close them - ⁠the bathroom was old and dirty (we don’t think it’s the cleaners fault - the place is simply externally run down) - ⁠loud noise from road - ⁠noise from other guests coming though the walls - ⁠uneven ground and old really shady looking entrance with empty cupboards and Mattresses standing in the hallway which contributed to the generally just really heartless and run down place. Frankly: the reality looks nothing like the photos visible online. How on earth “star California” got any starts at all escapes me! Don’t book it ! We are requesting a refund for the remaining nights we paid and didn’t use.

Globalement, annonce mensongère. Les photos sont vieilles et ne représentent plus du tout le logement actuel. Salle de bain petite et sans porte de douche. Noyade de la salle de bain assurée. Abattant des WC mal fixé. Équipement de cuisine rudimentaire. Pas de torchon, pas de liquide vaisselle. Propreté douteuse. Nous avons trouvé des cheveux sur le lit et dans la salle de bains. Mauvaise expérience.

This was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had. There were hardly any basic amenities, and no one seemed to care or follow up when we asked for help. For example, they provided an iron and an ironing board, but there was no suitable adapter to plug the iron into, so they were basically useless. Overall, the service was very disappointing and the accommodation was not properly equipped.

Hallo, wir bitten Sie hiermit um eine Rückerstattung des von uns gezahlten Übernachtungspreises. Während unseres Aufenthalts haben wir Sie über die erheblichen Mängel informiert und um schnelle Hilfe gebeten. Leider wurde uns nicht geholfen und die Mängel bestanden während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts fort. Besonders schwerwiegend war, dass aus der Dusche überhaupt kein Wasser kam, sodass Duschen nicht möglich war. Darüber hinaus wurden die Mülleimer vom vorherigen Gast nicht geleert, der Kühlschrank war stark vereist, im Badezimmer befand sich Schimmel, die Fenster ließen sich nicht richtig schließen und die Unterkunft machte insgesamt einen ungepflegten Eindruck. Wir sind nach unserer regulär gebuchten Übernachtung wie geplant abgereist. Die genannten Mängel können wir jedoch angesichts des von uns gezahlten Preises nicht akzeptieren. Wir bitten Sie daher um eine angemessene Rückerstattung des Übernachtungspreises und um eine zeitnahe Rückmeldung. Vielen Dank.

Die Lage und Verkehrsanbindung war in Ordnung

Extrem schutziger, unordentlicher Hausfluhr und Treppenhaus, sehr laiter Verkehrslärm, zu weiches Bett mit nur einrm laken-keine Decke, kein Wasserkocher oder Kaffeebereiter, schmuddeliger Fußboden im Appartement, das sehr hellhörig war

La cama no era incómodo y no estaba sucio.

Hay una puerta en el techo a una terraza que no sé puede cerrar y hemos tenido que dormir con el apartamento abierto. El congelador no enfriaba bien. La ducha estaba en mitad del pasillo y se rompió la cortina al momento. El lavabo no tragaba agua. No había casi nada de menaje de cocina. Hacía calor por la noche, sobre todo en la parte de arriba del apartamento. La plancha soltaba oxido y nos ha manchado oxido.

The location was great.

The kitchen wasn’t functioning properly. The stove was broken. Emails were sent at night or not replied to. Deadlines were brutal. Checkt your spam - some mails end up there.

The area where is situated was good

It was hard to reach out to them though the phone. A lot of furniture out of use on the hallway. The stove was not working when I got there . it was impossible to sleep at night because of the heat and during the day as well you can’t stay inside. No fan and no AC. We had only one spoon, one fork and a really tiny knife. If you want to cook you better be prepared.

1. No fan had to open the windows and it’s facing the main road which is very noisy till around 1am. Then the noise starts again at 6am. Unable to sleep peacefully. 2. Blanket was a very thin sheet. 3. Kitchen facilities very poor, lack of utensils and other essentials. 4. The flat is outdated and need urgent modernisation. 5. We booked for two nights and was given three-quarter of a toilet roll. 6. Entrance carpet looks very dirty. 7. Two chairs provided was extremely dirty and we have to cover with towels to sit.

Spacious room, comfortable beds, and a nice kitchenette with fridge and microwave. The location was also very very good. Short walk to a few restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. And a 2 minute walk gets you to the tram station which is a 10 minute direct ride to the city centre. If you're driving, there is only space for 3/4 cars at the back of the property so when you book your room immediately reserve and pay for a space so you don't miss out.

Everything just felt a slight bit dated in my opinion. No fan or AC so was a very hot night. Also, because it's self check-in, they took hours to respond to a question I had on arrival day.

I booked the hotel, made the payment but didnt give me apartment number and pin . I rang them in the number provided and there was no response , i waiting there over an hour trying and finally someone in another apartment came to give me the contact email , that worked . And there were other people in similar situation to js doest knew what to do

De toegangscode die ik ontvangen had, werkte niet. We kwamen laat aan en wilden graag snel slapen dus dit liep helaas wat vertraging op omdat we telefonisch contact moesten opnemen.

Die Lage des Apartments ist ein Traum. Es gibt sehr viele Abschlussmöglichkeiten an Bus und Bahn. Wer aber gut zu Fuß ist und Zürich erkunden möchte, kann auch runter in die Stadt laufen. Mir hat besonders die Sauberkeit gefallen. Das Apartment hatte für mich alles was man für 2 Nächte so braucht. Ein sehr bequemes Bett mit Nachttischen, einen Beistell/Ablagetisch, einen kleinen Esstisch mit 2 Stühlen und ein Badezimmer mit Dusche, Waschbecken und Toilette, sowie Handtücher und Duschvorleger. Es hätte auch noch einen Fernseher gegeben, den ich aber nicht benutzt habe und eine Küchenzeile mit 2 Herdplatten, Mikorwelle, Geschirr und Kühlschrank. Auch Spüli, Geschirrtücher und Toilettenpapier war vorhanden. Für mich war es besonders schön, das mein Apartment 08 einen separaten Eingang von Außen hatte, so musste ich nur eine Tür aufschließen und stand direkt im Apartment. Als allein Reisende war das sehr angenehm. Die Kommunikation war auch sehr unkompliziert und beim Anruf der Hilfehotline ging direkt jemand dran und man fühlte sich gut beraten.

Natürlich ist es kein Luxushotel, aber gerade für 2 Nächte, um Zürich zu erkunden, ist es perfekt.

The place is cheap compared to the market and self-checkin is really convenient, but that is all for the positives.

Pictures on booking are not true to the place. It looks way nicer than it is. The bed is unconfortable and causing back pain according to the guests I booked for. Amenities are closed to none. The room is pretty basic. For a very short stay it might be feasible to cook if you are adventurous enough, but there is not really much kitchenware. Shower has no curtain and the bathroom gets flooded.
