Chambre OK, Climatisation très appréciée PDJ très bien Service très bien
SDB ouverte
Personal, Ausstattung der Zimmer/Suite, alles in allem 10/10.
I've stayed here several times, as there are not that many decent hotels in Zug. City Garden is fine. Rooms are OK but be aware there are generally no bathroom doors and a glass panel between bedroom and bathroom (which I've never worked out how to make opaque, but perhaps it's possible). This time I got the last room as Zug was fully booked out. My room was larger than normal, with a small sofa as well as bed but for the cost (approx 400 CHF) it's not great value. One of the electrical points didn't work and I didn't realise so my laptop died mid-presentation, no robe or slippers (I'm not sure how much you have to spend before you get either of those), shampoo and conditioner feels like you're washing your hair in paint stripper and there was no restaurant open for dinner on a Wednesday evening (nearest place is The Park Hotel which is the sister hotel to the City Garden). It's not a long walk but I was in the middle of working on something for the following day and didn't want an enforced break.
Great location near city centres
Nothing in particular
Fresh salmon at breakfast. Friendly staff and everything was nice an clean. Wifi Also good.
Inconvenient to walk so far as it was at the sister hotel for Breakfast. Breakfast selection was limited and always the same. Hardly anyone at the desk at night. Feels like it was not good value for Money.
Location good for office
Price and rooms very quirky
Breakfast. Cleanliness
I arrived Sunday at 1pm (yes, pm not am) - hotel was closed, no staff there. Without key no entry. Only a small note saying please walk 10min to another hotel to check-in to get the key. But it was raining at 10 degree celsius and no umbrella. No way to store the luggage. So I had to walk with my suitcases through the cold rain to check-in with my clothes and suitcases getting quite wet. And that reception - just said it's hotel policy to be closed during the day when foot traffic is low, nothing they can do. No apology, not even offering transport to go back. This is just unacceptable for a hotel of that price. Room was also overheated during night even if windows open and aircon on lowest setting.
Pratique Bon petit déjeuner simple Calme
Pas de possibilité d’ouvrir la fenêtre
Minimum amenities, older hotel with limited services. They don’t have guest services or ice machines. If you need ice, must come downstairs to reception since there’s only one staff member during evening hours (9pm) so no room delivery. Heating unit doesn’t work despite thermostat adjustments. There are no artwork or paintings in rooms so it looks like you are living in a college dormitory. While the staff is nice, quiet neighborhood, and room is clean, I would opt for their sister Park Hotel next door, for future visits. It’s also 15min walk from Zug center.
Sehr umfangreich alles vorhanden
1. Had to extra pay for my partner. Not just for breakfasts, but her stay!!! 2. Breakfast on the 1st day was 300m outside the hotel 3. We were not allowed to leave our bags up to 9.00 PM, only up to 8.00 PM. We had to take it with us (just wanted to visit Lucenre in our spare time)
I liked the location, I loved how comfortable the room was and the amenities. The staff were very helpful. Nice little town, the station was closeby, which I wish I had known before traveling.
I didn't like the breakfast. Stone cold and not very tasty. I would strongly advise you to take the train from Zurich. I got a cab and it cost me 260Euros for a 40 minute ride, but the train was 10Euros.
Localizado numa cidade muito bonita, o hotel ficava num local mais tranquilo o que é ótimo e o quarto era confortável.
A piscina e o spa não ser no hotel onde estávamos, era noutra rua.
The online image shows a garden, and food settings indicating a resturant. The hotel has neither and infact you cannot get even a coffee. Totally miss advertised.
I stayed in a beautiful, larger room with full sized windows looking out on trees. It was quiet, scenic and relaxing.
.staff were nice
This hotel is not what it seems. There are like 2 hotels for breakfast you need to go to their other hotel and for swimming too. Very inconvenient and they were not beside each other. Very expensive for the inconvenience
Quiet and beautiful forest views. Good air conditioning and good bed! Spacious room and bathroom.
This was annexe to the actual hotel so for pool and restaurant you needed to walk on the streets to get to the actual hotel. So did not use the pool due to this as I could not see myself strolling in slippers and bathrobe down the streets. They claim room service, but in effect you could not order drinks to your room as this was the annexe. On our check out morning, we went for breakfast and as we returned to the room the house keeping was already cleaning it for next guests. How rude! Before we had even checked out and we still had the room up to 12 noon before check out deadline!
Location
There are no drinks or snacks available apart from the breakfast. The bar was closed; the terras outside all furniture was removed….
Ok
Very well designed, tasteful, quiet and well/located.
Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt.
The location is very convenient, close to the main attractions.
The hotel itself is great. Modern, clean, quiet. Reception is not staffed on Saturday, so you have to check in at the Park Hotel and that is where breakfast was on Sunday. It’s not far, but not convenient. It’s walkable from the train station. Good breakfast.
Good breakfast.
Car park not secure, barriers under construction but I was still charged 15 cfr even when I questioned it. “This is Switzerland your car will be safe”!?! Then why are they building a secure car park?? The whole bar and restaurant was booked out for a private function but not noted on Booking Site. I would not have booked here. Inconvenient after a 6 hour drive. I was told to go to their hotel nearby.
Excellent hotel, nice, large rooms, faboulous vegan meals in restaurant! Daniela at reception can help you on everything, so polite and professional! Located in the Park, sorrounded with trees and birds singing but still in city centre, 5 min walk to train station.
Location was close to the station. Cleanliness was good.
Room size, facilities, very clean, friendly and professional staff
Breakfast quality is not bad but could be improved
After 11 pm the check-in for this hotel is at a different hotel, Park Hotel Zug. Which is at least 250 m away. There's no guidance on how to get there. There is no one on front desk. This is feels like a 2 or 3 star hotel at most. Terrible experience.
Facilities and hotel standard were excellent but I found some of the small things very disappointing. For almost £900 for two nights I found some of the penny pinching ridiculous. Welcome treats were not replaced (it was a small chocolate!) and the vanity set was repacked into cardboard case rather than replaced - it was opened to use the cotton buds. Excellent hotel but these little things were very disappointing.
Good location
No soap in any dispenser; discovered whilst in the shower
Friendly personnel
dirty seat (a lot of white stains) in room
The room is new, clean and conformable. Front desk staff was also great. Unfortunately the air conditioning system is very noisy and turned on and off all night. I could not sleep because of this. I would unfortunately not book again for this reason.
Beautiful surroundings and looks amazing
Very expensive and mainly Vegan food in the evening and was not aware of that when booking
First stay in this hotel, and it was a great experience. Starting with the staff, the size of the room, the amenities, the cleaning, the comfort of the bed, breakfast... really everything it was beyond expectations. In previous business trips I have already tested a number of hotels in the region, but on the future I will only come to this one.
the bed for two people was too small
all of it
all of it.
Good location
The bed is not soft at all and is like sleeping on a hard concrete slab. Check out has to be done in a different hotel down the road which is not convenient :( Secret garden restaurant is a fancy restaurant with crazy prices for very little food. If you want to charge those prices then at least offer the service to align with those prices : I asked the waitress how long does the salmon take to cook and she stared at me blankly and said ‘I don’t know’ - seems like they don’t want to try or make any effort at all to answer a reasonable question that any guest could ask lol
Position, tranquillity, bathroom facilities
Pillows were too soft, couldn't sleep good
Stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip. Room was great, spacious and modern. Only downside is the reception is only manned until about 10.45-11.00 at night, so if you are arriving late you need to check in at the sister hotel around the corner. Bar was pricey but I think that’s just Switzerland! Breakfast was good, enough options, but kind of spread out over the dining area. The hotel offers large umbrellas to borrow at reception which was a bonus. It is well located, easy access to the train station and city.
the location is excellent surrounded by greens and metro station is few minutes walk from the hotel . hotel is cozy
-The /waiter on duty on 19th April evening was rude , I was explaining to her about my dietary restrictions and just clarifying further that I have a combination of gluten and lactose intolerance ( because I know there is a lack of awareness regarding the combination, people often confuses lactose with gluten they think their are the same ) when she suggested what is on the menu that I can eat I just asked again that these suggestions are both gluten and lactose free, she kept responding I told you ! I told you ! in a rude way . -to add that when she brought me the bread on the table she did not take it from the plastic bag nor severed the Bread in a plate or a basket , I found it very unprofessional for such a restaurant . -she was a bit discriminative. - Pillows are not comfy need some enhancement . -they kept one soap bar for my whole stay , they even did not notice that sops bar was completely used and that they need to replace it . they refilled the shower gel though. -the bed has some hair and bed sheets were not changed on daily or at least every two days . they kept the same bed sheets for my whole stay.
We went to the restaurant and it was one of the most amazing vegan/vegetarian experiences we ever had. In addition the service staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and place itself was nice, too. Really a secret Tipp. We will go again.
Great hotel, great staff, great location.
spacious, clean, modern offered a good breakfast
nothing
Breakfast was great. Spacious room.
Nothing I can think of.
Not suitable for business travel. There are no services for business travel, there are no practicalities at Garden City. You will not have an iron, & will need to use a communal, uninviting space to iron. We chose to pay for ironing services but had to pick up our clothes at the front desk. Also, if you check in “after hours”, you will need to check in at the parent hotel- The Park. Horrible, after long hours of travel. The room has no sense of comfort. In a country that has the benefits of a low population & expansive geographical space the room is like a cell. The bathroom is in the center of the room with limited space to organize, The design is gaudy. I’m certain it appeals to people who won’t be spending much time in the room, who have no business focusses. We found it tacky. It is advertised as modern- I suppose if modern means living at cheap club. I left prior to the end of my stay. Went back to Zurich & spent the money to travel back to Zug. The extra travel cost was well worth it. Ask questions of the hotel before booking your stay.
The room was incredible: clean and large, and the service was excellent.
The parking was a little expensive.
Very nice personnel that met our requested needs
Reception closed on Friday evening after 8 pm
I have stayed at this hotel many times before when in Zug on business. And I chose to stay here as I have always liked the service and hotel. However, this stay was different. Firstly upon arrival reception was unmanned, one sign said it was manned 17:00 to 19:00 whilst another said it was closed, it was 17:20! I eventually phoned the reception of the sister hotel and was told someone was on their way. Eventually they arrived but then needed to go back to other hotel to get my key. I was then told that breakfast was being served at the the sister hotel and I’d need to check out at the the sister hotel as well. Having breakfast at the other hotel was very busy. In the future I’ll consider staying at the sister hotel, The Park Hotel, as that may be simpler and easier. I’ll give three stars as the room was very good, but poor service and lack of breakfast mean I cannot give it more. I’d struggle to recommend this hotel over its sister hotel based on this experience.
No breakfast, no reception, you need to go to another hotel for check-in and check out, no restaurant open. This is like air bnb , but you pay for a 4 stars hotel. Robbers …. And they consider you like no one at the other hotel reception… no real apology…
The hotel was a ghost town...no front desk, no staff...just an interphone at the entrance to get to another hotel to get your room key an breakfast...very desapointing and unpleasant
We just celebrated my husband’s 50th at City Garden- an evening party in the restaurant and several rooms booked for our out-of-town guests. The staff were fabulous from start to finish in terms of organization, friendliness, and professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented! And the hotel rooms were very comfortable, clean, modern, and spacious. I can highly recommend this venue for parties or special events! Plus, the location can’t be beat!
Spent two nights on a business trip, this is the hotel of my choice, or the Park Hotel next door. Had a perfect stay, all was as expected, and being so close (5min) walking distance to the train station is a big plus.
