The location was excellent. The bed was comfy. Lovely hot shower. The cooking facilities were fine once worked out how to use them.

The whole unit got very hot and stuffy despite the fan which was not very effective. The window to outside did not open.. No ventilation in bathroom.

The location was ideal for what I needed. It was comfortable for 1 person probably a bit tight for 2 people.

The shower tray was flimsy and felt like it was going to crack when stood on. More utensils are needed chopping board, potato peeler and corkscrew/bottle opener.

I had a genuinely distressing experience during my stay. When I entered the room, it was unbearably hot — my first thought was that someone had left a heater running. I called the service number and was told there was no heater in the room at all, which left me confused, since the room description explicitly mentioned a heater as an amenity. To make things worse, the window couldn't be opened either, so there was no way to cool the room down or get fresh air. It felt like around 40°C inside, while it was only about 20°C outside. Being stuck in that heat with no way to ventilate the room triggered a panic reaction — I felt genuinely closed in and unsafe. It was so bad that I decided to disgard the 3 fully paid days and move to another hotel. I leave the key in the post box without staying there. I was willing to pay for the first night, but I reached out after returning the key to ask whether the property would consider reimbursing the other two nights as a gesture of goodwill, given the circumstances. It was said to be passed on to the management but I didn´t received any reply (at least not till now - one week afterwards). An extremely hot room in a normal mild day is bad enough, but the silence afterward is what really soured this experience. I can't recommend staying here until they address both the room conditions and their responsiveness to guests.

Unfortunately, the property was not presented to an acceptable standard. There was no toilet seat cover, and the toilet seat was loose. There was also already-used toilet paper left in the bathroom, with only a small amount remaining rather than a fresh/full roll. The kitchen paper towel was also almost finished, so we had to purchase our own toilet paper and kitchen towels during our stay. In addition, the bathroom floor was dirty and the shower was not clean. Overall, the cleanliness and basic supplies provided were disappointing and made our stay far less pleasant than expected. Given the price we paid for the accommodation, I do not feel that the property was provided in an acceptable or properly maintained condition.

It was not dirty perse, but the room and mostly bathroom definitely were in need of a deep clean. The room was very very warm despite it not being hot outside and was hard to cool down with open window. The bed was very soft.

Incredibly warm room to the point where it was almost impossible to sleep. Had to keep the window open with the fan on the whole time to not melt. I actually don't know how it was that hot since the radiators weren't on and it was cold outside. Room was 29°C which was just unbearable. With the window open there's so much noise which makes it even harder to sleep.

When we first arrived the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly, it was disgusting. Neither had the bedroom and when showering neither had that, muck and dirt all in the plug. There was no amenity pack so couldn't was the dishes. Just fundamental stuff. The heat in the apartment was unbearable and the same for a couple across the hall, who had their door open. When I complained and asked for fans that stayed on for longer than 2 hours, I was told quite simply "sorry can't do anything". That's really not a solution and its clearly an issue. I can't imagine how that would have been during the recent heatwave. All in all a really bad experience

Complicated security to check in after challenging day travelling with several changes to rail travel being offloaded twice on journey. No power when I arrived & had no way of accessing help as it was a Sunday & after hours. As I had no phone, only communication by E- sim using Whats App or email I had to request help from someone to call for help. Power off at fuse box at ceiling height with no way of accessing safely for me with furniture in room. Fortunately after the call eventually someone came and it was a simple solution for him being taller & knowing what he was doing. I also had difficulties accessing wifi using barcode scanner but he showed me how to access using my camera. Thank you. Also cistern did not flush toilet. Reported and it worked mostly.

Disappointing stay. The apartment was suffocatingly hot with no ventilation, and the loud fan they provided was a bit pointless given how loud it was. We had to keep our door open just to breathe. Worse than the heat was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. I had to personally wipe down the stained walls and doors. The bathroom floors were dirty, the stovetop was unwashed, the kettle was full of limescale, and the drinking glasses literally had someone else's lipstick on them. Even the window mesh was caked in thick dust. I didnt pack my own hairdryer, expecting one to be there (as listed on the property page) but there was no sign of one when we got there, we didnt bother asking for one (we shouldnt have to). Definitely needs a deep clean and better management.

The weather was very hot and the room temperature was unbearable. Two fans were provided but it was still hotter indoors than out. To access the room instructions via a QR code seemed to require me to purchase something and it could have been easier.

Comfy bed and good shower pressure, nice amenities and plenty of room for 2 people.

Only downside is room exceptionally hot in summer despite use of available air con and extraction. Shower also has limited room but still easy to use and good pressure.

The location was excellent, great for the city centre shops the arena and the castle. Not far from the train stations.

The bed was too soft. No window to open. The room was very hot, there was a fan, but it did not work, but the cleaner sorted this out for us.

Neúnosné vedro, které neslo vyvětrat. Pomohlo pouze otevřít dveře na chodbu což v noci není možné, takže se nedalo vůbec spát. Z venku byl velký hluk. Nádobí bylo špinavé a nebylo ani dostatek příborů.

Struttura a pianterreno con finestrone che non si può aprire per cambio aria direttamente sulla strada. Fastidioso il rumore di auto che sembra entrino nella stanza. La notte può capitare di svegliarsi per rumori improvvisi sul marciapiede e da auto parcheggiate sotto finestrone. Per evitare di esser visti va tenuta sempre la tenda chiusa e la luce accesa. Non ideale per chi come me soffre di claustrofobia. Inoltre il caldo è asfissiante (specie in una stagione estiva come questa) e non c'è né aria condizionata né possibilità di arieggiare abbondantemente. Il bagno è vecchio. C'è stata una fuoriuscita di acqua da una scatola bianca arrugginita posta sotto il wc. Purtroppo, le uniche due pentole a disposizione (volevo un contenitore dove semplicemente lavare l'insalata comprata) erano completamente sporche(incrostazioni di sugo). Attenzione agli adattatori che vi portate dietro. Io ho dovuto procurarmene un altro perché quello usato nella precedente struttura dove ho alloggiato (quindi funzionante) veniva 'sputato' fuori. Insomma, non è stato un soggiorno troppo piacevole e rilassante. Peccato!

Good location, well organised access with no-fuss, good room equipment at first sight (including a Dyson bladeless fan and a fridge).

We stayed at the height of a heatwave, which is a reason for the score. Normal temperatures and you would get over the lack of ventilation, window doesn't open by design, not even a bit. Dyson fan was barely adequate under these circumstances, and we know of another room that had 2 fans and even they were suffering. Extractor fans were present but covered by such thick dust, looked concerning regarding operational safety. One of them felt like it was pushing half the air back into the room. The room had a nice-looking chair but it couldn't hold the weight of an adult. This and the matter of the unbearable heat was raised via the provided email address, to which we never got a reply.

Clean and tidy and well laid out. Great that there was air conditioning as hot weather. There are lifts if needed. Great location within walking distance to City Centre.and Cardiff Castle. Would stay there again.

Un trato horrible por parte del alojamiento, no nos dieron ninguna solución y nos trataron con condescendencia. Una vergüenza que este alojamiento forme parte de la oferta de Booking.

Het was erg heet in de kamer. We kregen 2 ventilatoren, maar de ramen konden niet open waardoor het benauwd bleef.

appena entrate nella stanza si soffocava, sembrava esserci acceso un qualche termosifone ma lo staff ha negato, purtroppo la finestra non si puo aprire del tutto e dopo due giorni la stanza continuava ad essere calda e la struttura non dispone di aria condizionata o ventilatori, abbiamo solo trovato un deumidificatore per far girare almeno un minimo l'aria.

thete isnt really anything we liked as the main reason we were disapointed hasnt been attended too correctly and thetefore had put us off everytjing else , as we couldnt even use the room properly but if i had to choose - the communal hallway was ok! it was cooler!

When we got there , we asked girl in hallway where room was. we had lugged suitcases up 3 flights stairs to then be asked why we didnt use lift ? as you enter buolding thete is no sign to direct to lift and lift is behind a door so you cant see it ! you just seethe stairs. Room was stifling hot. unbearable! actioned this to customer service exaplined that thr fan is no use as it s just circulating hot air.therewas no window to open in the room - no air whatsoever . i asked for sone gorm of refund as havent slept 2 nights snd instead of coming bsvk to me on this they provided qnother fan in room which didbt work / filter was covered thick with dust and whoever was on duty had totally dismissed the fact we said the fan will just circulate warm air as theres no fresh air coming into room! shampoo & conditioner pumps were broken, loo roll holder hanging off wall, dirty mugs and wall mounted fan absolutely covered thick with dust ! i still have not had a response as to wether we will receiv3 some form of refund. we cpuldnt sit in the room ut was so hot, didnr sleep -my husnabf got about halff hours sleep on the landing in the hallway as there was a door open . Totally not worth what we paid for ir AT ALL and would like to hear back from a manager regards this.

Very small room and small double bed. We stayed during the heatwave and there is no air conditioning. The room was unbearbaly hot. 31 degrees throughout the night so very difficult to sleep.

We found the lack of lighting was a bit uncomfortable. A couple of the lamps were not working.

The property is in a good location.

The room was smaller than the photographs indicated with many of them taken in a communal area. There is no air conditioning and the window did not open so the room became intensely hot through the night. We woke up panicked on several occasions and hardly got any sleep. I feel the temperature in the room was not safe and we only stayed one night, despite paying for two. After leaving we received a rude email about the location of the key and did not receive any update to say they had been found in the location we left them.

Donot stay in this place if you expect any service or cooperation from the staff.we checked in on the weekend with old parents and booked 2 apartments. In one apartment the aircon didnt work in the living room and the shower spewed hot steam.i was told categorically that this is UK and no one will attend on the weekend. This is a service apartment so service is expected every day of the week. The maintenance team let us shower in another apartment on a higher floor.imagine living in a hostel like situation after paying approx. 350 to 400 pounds per night. On raising my voice I was accused of a rude tone which supposedly upset the team there. These people couldnt arrange a plumber to fix the shower divertor during my entire stay and set the water temperature on warm for std bathing after 2 days of grief. I asked for a refund of 50 percent of my stay but these people after fleecing us and offered us a 100 pound refund. My advice DONOT GET SCAMMED INTO THIS PLACE. BEST YO AVOID IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness did not meet expectations. I found some hairs on the bed, and shortly before checking out, I noticed rubbish and a significant amount of dust underneath the bed.

Really good communication from the host, easy check in and checkout. Location was good, a short walk from the city centre. The bed was comfortable and was nice to have a little kitchen. Walked in during a heatwave (36C) to the fan on, free bottled water in the fridge and iced lollies in the freezer which truly made my day after a long day of cancelled and delayed trains.

The seal around the shower definitely needed replacing, seemed like it would be impossible to clean. I did stay during a heatwave and the room was quite hot, though the Dyson fan did help somewhat. Though I imagine this is the case for most properties in the UK.

Toilet was too high, sounds silly but uncomfortable to use, when we arrived my partner used the bathroom and there was no toilet roll, I called the helpline and someone brought some for us within 10 minutes, which was good.

The apartment is very small and has no windows for ventilation. It was extremely hot and there was no way to cool the room, even with 2 large fans. The room was unclean, attention to detail for cleaning was not great. It was very dusty and the bathroom wasnt clean. The dishes were unclean too and seemily just scattered in the cupboards such as the cutlery just loosely in an overhead cupboard.

The location and the fact that it had a lift

If you want to see how it would feel like to sleep and exist in the ninth circle of hell that Dante was on about, this is the place for you. We travelled there during the heatwave in June 2026. The room had only one fixed small window, so there was no way to let (cooler) air into the room. There were only two extractor fans, one in the room and one in the toilet. We had to use these two, the noisy downdraft extractor (for the stove) at maximum power and try to keep the door open towards the lobby, whenever possible. And nothing worked. Not only was it excruciatingly hot every second, but while you are sleeping, there are more stages of hell unleashing on your breathing, skin, general well being; it is genuinely horrible and you cannot properly sleep. They do have a Dyson cooler in the room (that we were not aware of, it was tucked away and not mentioned anywhere in the welcome pack, nor in the email we've sent complaining about the temperature), but it did not make much difference even after being on for hours… Apart from the tropical heat of the room, we were only provided with part of the custom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and hand wash; no body wash/soap). And we were provided with 2 rolls of toilet papers for 5 days…. The trash cans, never emptied, could not accommodate all the trash accumulated over these days... And there was no indication where we could dispose of it either. Suffice to say, the place looks nice but it is not for actual living there. It might work for student accommodation during cold months. (We also met some other guests who were staying in the hallway at 11 pm, just because they couldn’t bear the heat in their own room. At least the air cooler was left in a visible place). The explanation we got when we complained is that “heat travels upward and we were on the third floor”...

Great location close to Bute Park and the historical city center. Small but cute clean studio suitable for 1 or 2 people. Lift in the building. Good internet connection. Secure entrance.

The window ( room # 11 ) was facing a BUSY street with a loud day's traffic.

Studio Room is like an oven no opening window hopeless fan. We did visit during a hot weekend but overnight the temperature was 27 in the room and 18 outside. People were sleeping in the hall and on the settees. Other sitting on the terrace at 3AM. When we complained we were told they had provided a free standing fan as a goodwill gesture which we found in the wardrobe. Even tried lying on a damp towel .sheets were dirty, stains down the side of the toilet and on the sink cabinet.

Das Waschbecken war winzig und auf Kniehöhe montiert. Die Toilettenspülung ging nur jedes 3 oder 4 mal und es ist ein Loch in der Wand im Badezimmer. Außerdem die Sicherung ist mehrfach rausgesprungen.

The studio apartment was inhumanly hot. I can handle heat but this was at a different level. The fan provided was not fit for purpose, when I contacted the out of hours number I was told that all the rooms had 1 Dyson fan and that was it. We had a cheap fan (but I believe the Dyson ones weren’t any better according to several other guests I spoke to.) Only when I contacted booking.com did they come with a 2nd fan that again had no impact whatsoever. I had to sleep in the lobby for the first 2 nights and on my floor with room door open on 3rd. Over £700 to sleep on chairs and the floor!! I was embarrassed sleeping out there but had no choice. Due to the amount of concerts on, hotels were up at £400-500 per night. I have never left a negative review for anywhere before, but I am so angry as there are similar concerns going back 2 years ago but obviously owners are more concerned with getting as much money in as possible instead of sorting it out. Had an amazing weekend of concerts, but really let down by this place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! (

Jesus suffering Christ- THE HEAT!!!!! Yes a fan was supplied but it was awful. The fan didn’t fully work nor really cool the room down. The door had to be left open which left it we didn’t sleep it was that unbearable. The window opened but the mesh made it pointless.

Cobwebs on all windows Shower could have been cleaner - tiles and grout need bleaching. Only 1 opening window in whole apartment - natural air flow required as well as air conditioning. Air conditioning display saying filters need cleaning.

Staff easily contactable by phone when we had issues getting into the building. Very helpful and friendly. Location was a good walkable distance from Central train station, town centre and our concert venue. Staff left ice-lollies and bottled water in our apartment fridge/freezer due to the extreme heat wave during our stay. Fans were also supplied.

The window that opened, did so onto a metal fixed grate which supplied no air. Lamp by the bed did not work, neither did the kitchen unit lights. Shower room door did not close properly.

When we arrived for our early checkin the room hadn't even been cleaned,we came back half an hour later,the room was so hot,we are in a heatwave no air-conditioning, tv didnt work,the shower was disgusting I had to clean it before I went in it,towels were stained,no staff anywhere,I emailed but it kept bouncing back.our few days away was ruined,and it cost a lot of money!!!

A very disappointing and uncomfortable stay. There is something poorly designed with the building within which our apartment was. We arrived on a nice, cool Friday evening and were immediately greeted by a surprisingly hot entrance-way. Once we’d navigated the multiple check-in steps (communicated very clearly by the hosts), we arrived to our furnace of a room. A tiny studio, with no ability to open any windows and no ventilation at all – it was stifling in there. It’s clearly a problem, as there was a Dyson Cool fan in the room, but this was merely circulated already super-hot air. The hosts clearly know of the problem, with a welcome letter stating that they had provided water in the fridge and ice lollies in the freezer. There were no ice lollies for us sadly. Honestly, staying in that room was dreadful. Inexplicably hot and no ventilation. Yes, we have had hot weather for a week, but I have travelled to hotter countries and never had a room as hot at this. We struggled to sleep as a result, even with the fan on max, blowing directly on us. No exaggeration, the whole time we spent in that room we were sweating – even after having a cold shower. Over £200 per night to sweat, dehydrate and fail to sleep is not our idea of fun. Such a shame, as the location is excellent - close to the centre and the castle, but we have returned home feeling awful from the terrible time we had staying in this room. Other people staying here had exactly the same problem, where we all left our apartment doors open to try to get some ventilation. What a poorly designed building, creating inhumane conditions for anyone staying there. We cannot recommend this place.

No hemos podido dormir del calor que hacía dentro de la habitación y en el edificio en general. Muy desagradable. Ni una ventana. Hacía fresco en la calle y en la habitación más de 30 grados. Ha sido horrible. Cocina poco equipada, ni una cafetera. Vamos que coges un apartamento para nada.

Was nothing to like about the apartment studio

Room was extremely hot, we couldn't stay in the room and sat out in the foyer where it was slightly cooler where other guests were doing the same. Shower was tiny and my friend couldnt shower as it was to small and couldn't fit in there. There was a mix up in room as key said 26 and information said 13 after we couldn't lock our room we spoke to staff and they were quite rude due to the mistake. Have messaged with no reply due to my concerns with my friend being epileptic and feeling extremely ill. Her sezuires are triggered by heat so this caused so much stress and anxiety.

Room was nicely laid out and clean. There was a heatwave and despite fans being left on it the room before my arrival it was uncomfortably hot. I knew there was no aircon when I booked and it was a record breaking heatwave, so would not normally be an issue. Ice pops left in the freezer were appreciated.

On arrival (at around midnight) the key that was left at the property for me to open the room door did not work. I had to call the out of hours service, it took a few attempts to get through, and the heatwave added to my stress. However once connected I was able to speak to someone who came out to the property (around 30 minutes later) and provided a new key which did work.

Unbearably hot

Location was good for the price especially during a concert being on the room served its purpose cool little set up that could be an amazing little spot if it had ac. Cool little touches with things like the wash up set etc. Staff did come and try to sort the cupboard tbf

Theres cupboards above bed when i opened one the door fell off and hit me in the shoulder. The window handle was barely hanging on and with the heat in the room it was hard to open properly cleanliness in the bathroom under the sink was a bit dirty but overall room was clean and tidy. I know we are in a heatwave but the room was boiling as no ac a fan was provided but was a waste of time really. You would literally be sweating just walking in the room. The window literally lets no air through as theres a grill for security outside

Great place to stay,, spotlessly clean , close to all amenities, would definitely stay again

Had everything you need, nice and comfy and bottles of water and ice lolly’s left because of the heatwave so can’t ask for much more

Very near to our concert

I didn't like the TV it's not comfortable to watch from the sofa and the sensor in the hall the lights kept going of even when you move in the bedroom at night and it was very annoying no TV in the bedroom either thought there sould be

Loved the location, near to town & the park where we saw a concert. 20 mins walk to station or pick up a taxi. Ice lollies/ water in fridge nice touch as we stayed during incredibly hot days.

Disliked · Nowhere on the listing stated that windows couldn't be opened. Thankfully a fan was provided or we would have left for sure. It's an office block of small rooms with a bathroom & kitchenette. I've worked in kitchens and can handle heat but this was off the scale. If you had any medical conditions, a stay here could be uncomfortable. Spoke to another lady leaving the building, she also had no windows that would open. Quite shocking really, especially for the cost of our 2 night stay. Shame as location is perfect but I wouldn't return.

We appreciate the hotel couldn't predict the extreme heatwave, but the way our concerns were handled was extremely disappointing. Our room was unbearably hot from the moment we arrived and the fan provided made no difference. The heat became so severe it triggered my asthma and we had to stay out until 2am because the room was uninhabitable. We repeatedly asked for help, extra towels and a better cooling solution but were continually told no staff were on site or promised things that never happened. A replacement cooling unit was eventually fitted after hours of waiting, but it was poorly installed and leaked water across the floor. We had to use our only two towels to mop it up, leaving us with no towels at all. Despite requesting more towels four times, none arrived before we left. We spent much of our stay waiting for promised assistance instead of enjoying our break. Sadly, the hotel's response ruined our stay.

The location was great. So close to everything. Also really quiet.

The studio was cramped and stuffy. With one small window facing a wall. Not the city view we were expecting, as described. The big issue was the cleanliness. The main issues were a dirty fridge with a half eaten fried chicken left on the shelf. The microwave was filthy with grease and food residue left on the tray. A frying pan that clearly had not been washed with lumps of burned meat stuck to it. One wine glass only, and that was cracked. We did complain and the response was swift. A lovely, apologetic cleaner turned up to rectify the issues but to be honest there was not much she could do with a jay cloth and a spray bottle. The place needs a deep clean. It was grubby and tired. Other issue were stains on the quilt, blocked shower tray and most kitchen stuff was sticky and smeared. Will not be returning.

The studio I rented was extremely hot. There was no air conditioning, only a fan, and even the window barely opened—just a small gap for air. The heat made me sick, and the fan didn’t help. I had to shower every few minutes and even kept the door open at times. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had.”

Location was central, studio had the essentials and communication was good. Really appreciated having the fans in this heat.

Dirty laundry found under bed, pink hair found in bathroom and on floor, and an unsafe kitchen knife (loose handle).

Muy buena ubicación y la habitación era amplia y cómoda, con todo lo necesario para unos días.

La limpieza podría mejorarse bastante, sobre todo la del baño y de los utensilios de cocina.

Property is in a good location. Close to city centre and quiet at night. Apartment is cozy and the air conditioner is a huge plus point. There's a kitchen in the apartment which gave us the flexibility to eat in and store leftovers in the fridge for the next day.

The tap in the shower is almost impossible to turn so we could not really change the temperature of the shower. Thankfully it was stuck at a reasonable temperature.

Very, VERY clean and the location could not have been better, for both the middle of town and the University. Security was also very good.

Communication was a bit spotty. Some info in the welcome pack was repetitive from before you check in, and getting ahold of customer service on a weekend before a Monday was not easy. For business travellers, this isn't so good. I was almost locked out for the night.
