This was such a cute and quality hotel in the Cultural District of Historic Mazatlan. The staff was great. They were helpful and available, and made our stay easy. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was very nice. They even had a quaint sized pool that my mother really enjoyed. The beach/ocean was an easy 6 block walk away.
Window opened on to a walkway. No drinking utensils offered nor toilet tissue. Soap was limited to two small cakes of soap and a small amount of shampoo for five days
La ubicación y que era muy confortable
Nada
To be very honest , the photos do not reflect the actual hotel. It was not the right fit for us. However, the next morning, the very professional staff offered to move us to their new hotel Tierra Marina . We switched hotels which was a much better fit. Tierra Marina is just a block away, new, comfortable and with an elevator. Staff in both hotels are excellent. Raíces might be great for younger people.
The white cat, and location.
Coming back late at night was difficult sometimes because people weren’t there to open the door, and staff didn’t give us a main door key.
Hotel staff helped me with parking and finding laundry facilities. Always friendly to talk to. I needed to extend my stay 4 nights and the owner accommodated me.
There is construction on the kitchen which can be noisy. No hot water one morning but there was a storm overnight. Related? Internet was flaky at times, in and out but good speed.
Atmosfera tego miejsca, to wyjątkowy dom, najstarszy w Mazatlan. W przestrzeni budynku jest kolekcja sztuki, rzeźby, jest taras gdzie można odpocząć Wszystko urządzone z gustem, w pięknym stylu. W pobliżu hotelu są muzea, targ, plaża, bary. Obsługa hotelu przemiła, pomocna.
Było trochę hałasu bo trwa renowacja hotelu.
buena comida

My stay at Hotel Raíces de Mar completely met my expectations for a boutique hotel right in the Plazuela Machada. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was perfect! The small soaking pool was refreshing and I enjoyed exploring el Centro from the doorstep.
Such charm! We have always enjoyed the Machado, and were happy to be able to stay here. The property is artsy and beautiful. I had the small pool all to myself every day.
Lovely historic property right on historic district square with restaurants and shopping live music and events nightly Staff was wonderful and helpful and friendly. Close to center of everything in historic area a few blocks to large market and close to square with historic church short taxy to other areas and sights. Room simple comfortable and clean AC was new and worked perfect. Nice swim spa small pool..
Location location especially on Friday/Saturday when Plazuela Machado comes to life… Staff was amazing, Laura from F&B and Katia front desk were just amazing.
One of the morning crew was noticeably not happy to be there, was a bit rude so I went and had breakfast next door…
bien
Todo muy bonito
I recently stayed at this property located in Mazatlán’s historic district, just steps away from the vibrant Plazuela Machado. This charming square, established in 1837, is a cultural hub surrounded by restaurants, galleries, and the Ángela Peralta Theater . The location was ideal for exploring the city’s rich history and lively atmosphere. Everything was within walking distance, including the Mercado Pino Suárez, a bustling market that has been serving locals since 1900 . The area is filled with diverse dining options, making it easy to enjoy authentic local cuisine. The property itself was modern and impeccably clean. The staff provided excellent service, always attentive and helpful. Their hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Mazatlán. It’s a fantastic place that combines comfort, convenience, and a touch of history.
Nothing. Everything exceeded my expectations.
Beautiful calmed relaxed feeling friendly staff members and food was great. Would go back next time I travel there.
Katia, Samantha and Elena made me feel very welcomed. They always had a smile on their faces and were very attentive. The location is perfect to see the cultural side of Mazatlán .
this boutique hotel is quaint, you walk thru registration in an open air patio. It's historical, smaller rooms and bathroom but worth the experience. its in middle of plaza machado super fun on weekend nights with entertainment at various corners. short drive to malecon. Easy 5 minute walk to main mercado and church. fun area. DON'T use "pulmonias" they are pricey, or get quote in pesos per hour BEFORE you agree. Taxi to mercado was $50 pesos, pulmonia was $15 USD per hour!!!
Great location if you want to stay in old town. The staff is wonderful so helpful. Gracias David and Diego and Samantha and the rest of the staff. We were staying in Pueblo Bonita resort and I had decided to get away from that touristy place and be with the local. Happy I made that decision
The staff here are amazing, very attentive. The food is amazing, the red chilaquiles with beans are so good tastes homemade. The hotel itself has a lot of character as well, feels very safe and it’s walking distance to the beach and restaurants
Hotel was dated…in public areas and resturant
Location, staff, decor, and peacefulness
Small room, bathroom, and shower -
I had to stay a couple of hours after checkout time to attend an important videoconference, the manager was kind enough to waive the extra charge.
Our stay was fine but there's better value for money elsewhere. The biggest pros are location and cleanliness. Front-line staff was friendly.
A couple of people who seemed to be manager level or higher roles seemed rather indifferent. Our room was smaller than it appeared in the photos - just goes to say we should pay more attention to square meters or footage.
The hotel was very quaint, authentic Mexican decor with an artist’s twist. Very beautiful. Bed was comfortable and our room was plain but had all of the basics. Washroom was small, step in shower was great. Only one bath towel each was provided and there were no hooks to hang anything to dry. Hotel was renovated so I’m not sure if this is something that hasn’t been added yet? We visited during a quiet time in Mazatlan. Old town was busy at night and the square was active with a nightly market. We found it noisy in our room. Due to the open courtyard of the hotel, a lot of noise came in off the street. Our room was on the second floor, across from the “little” pool, not far from the open kitchen, which was just across, below us. The kitchen staff came in at 6:00. I was woken up both mornings by the noise from the working kitchen and what I perceived to be a radio. I discovered on our last day that it was the lady who worked in the kitchen singing. Music to the ears and lovely, just not mine at 6:00 a.m. There was also some sort of what we thought was sanding going on later at night and early in the morning? We didn’t have the air con. on at all as it was unusually cool during our stay, so possibly the air conditioner would have blocked out the noise? We ate our dinner at the on site restaurant the first evening. We felt that it was expensive and just o.k. “Poncho” the young man who looked after us during our whole stay was just wonderful and very attentive to our needs.
Leaky ceilings
Great location for New Year Eve
Only provided one breakfast for a couple when add says free breakfast included
The location is amazing, the restaurant and upper patio designs are stunningly beautiful. Shower is super great, the cleaning team works fast and you can ask them for anything you need. The food is very good, but the bar is even better, cocktails are delicious and everything is very affordable. But the best is the staff! Everyone is incredibly friendly and accommodating, we spent a NYE there and felt like we were beloved family. Also location by the Plaza Machado is perfect for wandering around Centro Histórico.
It is loud - but that comes with the location over the main square and next to the church. It gets humid - but, again, that comes with the territory.
Nicely kept property with open-air interior giving it a jungle feel. The small kitchen serves great food and margs. The staff is wonderful. We stayed on the third floor and there isn’t an elevator, so be aware as the stair climbs are a bit tiring. We would stay here again.
Excellent
Hotel location is great, in the center of cultural events and great restaurants and entertainment
Excellent service clean, friendly and food great
The staff were super welcoming and friendly from the beginning. We arrived early but they had no problem letting us check in at 1 pm. The room was clean & anytime we needed extra towels or anything the staff was quick & efficient. The gentleman recommended so many fun things to do around the hotel. The hotel is open with a lot of beautiful scenery. I would definitely stay here again.
A
It was convenient to everything which was nice. The room was clean maybe a refrigerator would be nice. Also we checked out at 7:30 am and no one around had to leave keys on desk.

Very nice place.
100%recomendable. Tiene muy buena ubicacion. Frente a la plaza machado. Muy seguro y limpio. El personal muy amable. Muy buen precio
Everyone was super friendly and everything was super great.
This hotel was beautiful! I love how decor was. Let allowed us to check in way earlier then the actual check in time which was amazing. We did get the room with the small pool right outside so there was alot of noise because family with their kids were swimming and making noise even around night time. The restaurant in the hotel had very good food was really nice but i did not like the service. They took a while to attend us and I had to remind them that we were waiting and there was only one table with a family and us. It took about 40 minutes to get our food but thankfully the food was good.
The property is in a good location right on the square. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The listing says that they have parking and they DO NOT. There are a few private lots worhin walking distance so it wasn’t horrible but it was a surprise. The rooms also look much bigger in their photos than they are in reality. It’s certainly not a bad hotel but I was excited for a cool spot and this didn’t meet my expectations.
The staff were all polite and professional. The presentation of meals were excellent. The meals good.
Inernet and tv didnt work and sheets were dirty
Location
No breakfast offered.
Email to hotel asking for recommendations to park my car was never answered. I had to wait at reception 10 minutes while woman talked on the phone. My room did not have a number on it. 3 attempts to find it and staff were not helpful.
Todo me gusto
Plaza Machado is the main Square in old town, which is having a revival. It's charming and the streets are very safe. There are lots of nice restaurants to choose from. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
The room was a little small. There was no dresser, so unpacking was not happening. Living out of a suitcase is less than ideal. The music in the square can play louder and later than we liked.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Some bilingual. The decor is awesome and the interior restaurant space as well as exterior restaurant spaces really great. Delicious food!
Location , unique decor
Location is great
No elevators all room must go up stairs and have no personnel to assist you. Hotel is not people friendly and only one employee Digo was always willing to help us and gave great customer service but everyone else was not courteous.
This quaint hotel is in an amazing location. Located in the square of El Centro, it’s super close to restaurants and bars. While it’s not a luxury hotel, it’s just what we needed for our stay. Great staff, beautiful grounds, and clean comfortable room.
Fun place
Besides location of course . Hotel 🏫 extremely clean and staff is super friendly and accommodating
The location is excellent except it can get a little noisy from the activities going on at the Plaza in front of the hotel.

Fue una estancia increíble
Muy bonito, cómodo y muy buena atención
It is a place with character, not a bland big hotel. They keep the rooms and public areas clean and tidy. The included breakfast had a lovely large fruit bowl as well as various egg type offerings. It's a great location on Machado Square within easy walking to the Cathedral and the market. Most rooms have a window into the central area which is a bit dark. The pool is tiny, more like a water feature. Still, it is a fun and funky place to stay. Excellent live music one of the nights we were there. Sometimes there is a bit of noise from the square, nothing too drastic though.
Beautiful, updated historical hotel in the Plaza Machado. The hotel has a great restaurant with a strong focus on traditional Sinaloanese food. My room was a good size with a comfortable but 'firm' bed. The bathroom had adequate lighting and there was always plenty of hot water in the shower. The air conditioner worked well when required. There was a small closet to hang all of our clothing for our 9 day stay. Check in was very smooth and I prepaid via the Booking app. There are very many restaurants nearby and amazing art galleries. Everything you need is practically within walking distance.
Flat, hard pillows. Shutters with privacy screens and no real windows to reduce the outside noises. The entertainment in the Plaza and outside the restaurant can go into the wee hours of the morning. I highly recommend earplugs. This is not a deal breaker though and I do intend to return and stay again in the near future!
Excellent location , wonderful staff, comfortable bed and very clean. Staff at reception were always very helpful and pleasant
Bit noisy outside on weekend but didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the property
Beautiful atmosphere- extremely friendly staff- Fabulous breakfast - everything is clean - perfect location to walk to all restaurants/shops/ocean & bars- Highly recommend
