Reviewed Sep 8, 2026The hotel is conveniently located close to everything on Upper James Street, including restaurants and shopping. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing significant. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. It would be great to have three meat options for breakfast instead of just one: a beef option, a pork option, and a turkey option. This would provide more variety and better accommodate different preferences.

The faucet in the bathroom had almost no water pressure; practically only a trickle of water came out. We had reported the problem, but nothing changed.

The floors were mopped with heavy soap that lingered on the floor. The ventilation was non existent therefore the towels never dried, and were never replaced. The door next to room 101 was right next to an exit, which made for noisy early mornings.

Reviewed Jul 5, 2026We went for our anniversary and my husband asked for a quiet room. To our surprise we got to our room with roses, cake, the bed had bows and flower petals, and it was completely amazing!!! The breakfast was also wonderful! with only a small wait for eggs and sausage refills to come, the selection was absolutely amazing, and food tasted great! Excellent amenities in room also, fridge, stove, micro, dishes, etc..
The air conditioning was very noisy. Breakfast potato were spicy... not for everyone. A night light would be nice in bathroom, though no other hotel has that either.

Reviewed Jun 18, 2026Clean and well maintained facilities and room. convenient location near main road with all conveniences, but far back enough not to hear the traffic from hotel. Lovely self serve breakfast including waffle makers, self serve coffee available all day also. Very friendly and very helpful staff, especially the breakfast person (forgot her name) and Guarav/Gavi at reception.
No dry clean services available. Not critical but slightly unusual: many Canadian hotels including this one also do not use duvet covers, just 2 sheets that "sandwich" the duvet.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2025Stayed for two nights at the hotel. The facility looks and feels brand new. Rooms were in great condition and very clean. Every single staff member interaction was absolutely outstanding. From check-in to late night snack getting service was outstanding. The hotel says their policy is anything less than 8/10 is a fail and you can tell this isn’t just a statement but a value that they hold themselves accountable to. My visit was 10/10. I frequently stay in hotels and rarely leave a review. In this case I felt the entire team deserved recognition for a fantastic stay and experience.

Reviewed Sep 5, 2025RED FLAG - Privacy concern: there are 2 layers of pull-off blinds, one is blackout and one is light filtering, you cannot tell which one is closed if you don't check carefully, especially when it's dark outside. We checked in at 8pm, room only has the filter curtain pulled down, only found this out the next morning. With dark outside and lights inside, it's almost 100% see through, our room is at 1st floor facing the parking lot and restaurants - this was never reminded by the front desk or anywhere; Very little sound proofing: Walls between rooms appear to be just drywalls, we could hear easily the next door room's talking, TV, coughing, etc.

Normally hotels offer pretty unhealthy options; but Towneplace offered fresh eggs, yogurts, quiches, fresh fruit, etc, every morning for FREE ontop of a 24hr free coffee bar. It was amazing. The housekeepers were so so sweet and friendly! Shannon went above & beyond to make sure our stay was amazing!
The showers LOL I think it must be a design flaw... half of the shower wall is glass and does not move, and half is just completely open; when the shower turns on it immedietly sprays out onto the floor... thats really the only complaint!

Reviewed Jul 28, 2025Hotel looks brand new and was immaculate. Reception - great employees working there, so welcoming and always helpful. Only confusion was we asked for every other day a tidy up in our room (we stayed a week), and they came once on the third day and not again, so I kept having to ask for supplies. Then finally the cleaners came in to do a thorough clean, but we declined as we were leaving the next day as that didn't make any sense. Breakfast - the area was modern and comfortable and great use of space. Great continental breakfast with fresh hot and cold options. Shout out to Parnisha who worked there Mon-Friday mornings, who always had a smile on her face and was so helpful, even when she was extremely busy! Could perhaps use more staff/hands in the busy mornings as it was a challenge or them to keep up with filling/re-filling of items! Room - our room was spacious and bright and the king bed was very comfy! Liked having the kitchen, could have been stocked with more than 2 of everything, in order to use the dishwasher (had to wash by hand if we wanted to use again the same day). Pool - clean but small. I could still do some laps when it was quiet, but when kids came in there is not much room. Laundry - 2 washers and 2 dryers, and on a Saturday it was busy and I had to wait a while to use the machines. But was easy to access and get coins, etc. Overall - we really enjoyed our week stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it! I give it a 10/10.

We were pleasantly surprised to see a fully equipped kitchen with stove, sink, microwave and a fridge when we entered the room! The room is very big and super clean. The washroom is spacious and modern! One small drawback is the entrance of this hotel is not very noticeable; it’s a small entrance on the main street. The main street was quite busy with lots of cars, so my sister needed to be careful turning in to enter the hotel. Our overall experience staying at this hotel was great. I would definitely recommend it to others visiting Hamilton.

Clean: absolutely no complaints. Didn't see a stain anywhere. Even the gym was clean. Convenient: the location near Lincoln Alexander Pkwy made it easy to get around time and out of town. There were restaurants and coffeeshops nearby, if needed. The breakfast was robust and there were lots of choices, my personal favorites were the espresso drinks. The in-room kitchenette was super helpful for stashing snacks and leftovers, and we enjoyed the all-day availability of water, tea and coffee. This isn't your best choice if you're looking for a resort experience, because the outdoor area is uninspiring, but overall this place delivers a lot of bang for your buck.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2025TownPlace Suites is in the perfect location if you are there to see the Sites. Places to eat are in walking distance and it is very easy access off of the main Hwy routes. The breakfast buffet has lots of variety and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We really liked it here and would definitely return. . The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was superb. However , the maid never came to freshen our room even once in our three day stay.
