The Gleneagles Hotel

The staff were wonderful, friendly, and always welcoming. I especially appreciated how well-organized and punctual all the activities were. The property itself is beautiful, and the overall service was excellent.

Unfortunately, the horse-riding experience was very disappointing and did not meet my expectations at all. The riding setting and overall experience were not what I had hoped for.

Das Hotel ist in einem miserablen Zustand. Es gehört sich von Grund auf renoviert. Das Zimmer war schrecklich. Die Aussicht in den Innenhof zum Abgewöhnen. Im Spa Bereich alles super abgenutzt. Alle anderen Bereiche sind genauso in die Jahre gekommen.

It was our first visit and I think it is the only hotel in Scotland that is worth visiting! Impeccable service, activities and facilities! A true gem!

I wish we could plan a longer stay instead of going to dull Edinburgh.

Очень очень дорогие активити, Не понравилось что постоянно спрашивают фамилию при входе в ресторан, узнав номер комнаты. Зачем? Недоверие??? Странно это Долгий процесс заселения! При выселении в инвойсе были обнаружены лишние позиции, убрали из счета их быстро, тем не менее неприятно. В номере были маленькие бутылочки с водой в ограниченном объеме

From staff to facilities, the management ensured that all are of the highest standard. It is a place that is worth coming back to.

Too many children that are unsupervised. There is a need for better signing to find where facilities are located.

Stunning building and grounds. The spa is amazing and the staff are lovely and very helpful. The century bar is lovely with very attentive staff and the Andrew Fairlie restaurant was incredible, best food and service I’v ever seen.

Lunch at the Dormy clubhouse was very tasty but service was a bit lacking. Wasn’t overly busy yet we waited a long time and had to ask for cutlery at one point. Just a slight niggle overall a positive experience.

The most beautiful hotel I have stayed in, the customer service was above and beyond, I also got a free upgrade on arrival which was amazing! Will definitely return and absolutely recommend!

Hotel overall is fabulous. Food is fantastic and loved the pop up chicken coop - good spot for lunch. Braid house rooms are lovely and very large. All the restaurants are great, breakfast has a great selection on the buffet

We have been here numerous times now. Always special.. Few things. Breakfast buffet wasnt as good as usual. Felt the food as a whole lacked the heights in previous visits. Events on all day in the ballrooms. You could hear music till midnight, room was directly above it so was very noisy. There was three events on when we stayed. From our experience, when this happens, we dont get the same experience. In future when we book, i feel i would check before booking.

The hotel setting is spectacular and facilities were excellent especially the spa and for 30 month to 8 year olds, the Little Glen. Nice touches for youngsters also included child sized dressing gowns, slippers and a bedtime toy.

We had a lovely room overlooking the grounds but the one slight drawback was that there were no armchairs in which to sit in the room and admire the view. There was just the desk chair.

The ev charging - I’d suggest getting a different contractor - (just for others info - it was so slow it charged car 40 miles in 11 hours! There’s a nearby faster charger that I’d use instead - don’t rely on hotel chargers) The small outdoor hot tub/pool looks a bit tired and could do with updating - (it would be lovely to see the view from an outdoor heated pool!)

The room was extremely dated and scruffy for the money, was then charged for an upgrade for a room which was smaller but thankfully up to date and this was apparently because we had to pay for a view. I didn’t necessarily need ‘a view’ but I didn’t need a bird poo stained window looking on to an old roof ! This was eventually taken off but even still, requested an iron which took 20-25 minutes to come as the steamer in the room didn’t work. This then meant I was late for my reservation for dinner. Both times I used the leisure club it was full of people and there was not one seat or bed anywhere to sit on as it is heavily over subscribed and the facilities were standard. I think the hotel is more interested in guests playing golf rather than being a luxury hotel (other than the downstairs which was beautiful and restaurants beautiful) and with the £800 booking and £600 bill at then end including golf and restaurants, my total bill £1400 seems a waste to be honest as I could have stayed and ate at an alternative such as Grantley Hall for those prices and had an impeccable experience.

I have stayed at the hotel before and it always feels like such a treat. It feels so special every time I go. This time it was to switch off before we have our first child and it was a welcome break. The food was lovely, the staff were attentive and happy to help. We were also blessed with some Scottish sunshine which made the trip even better. The rooms were immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel.

The prices have gone up a phenomenal amount. I appreciate costs will have as well, but it was so much more expensive than previous visits. Our room was internal facing but it didn’t have frosted glass so it was still nice and light. The room was expensive considering the view. Whilst I would never dispute discretionary service charge on dinner and drinks, it felt excessive to then also add 12.5% charge on spa treatments, that you have already paid for and an extra 5% service on your room. Surely the cost of those are covered when you pay for that service. It was incredibly busy when we visited which also meant there was quite a wait for drinks at breakfast and dinner, and on occasion the drinks didn’t arrive. We flagged it to staff and they were very apologetic, it wasn’t a problem, we understood they were very busy, but I could imagine it could be a problem for more insistent guests.

Did not like service charges being levied on highly overpriced champagne. Eg veuve Cliquot priced circa £125 a bottle attracting at 12.5% service charge just for serving the drink. Staff were only doing their jobs! Nothing more that that. It’s a rip off.

Enjoyed being surprised by how efficient and friendly and so polite the staff were. The room was beautiful and the different restaurants allowed for dressing up or down. The spa was excellent and Debbie was lovely.

Only a tiny mention but the television controls were not fully functioning and we couldn’t get any luck with channels. It would have been nice to see a film or news in the morning. We didn’t mention it anyone as there was so many other wonderful things to see and do.
