Een oase van rust in het centrum van Oaxaca. De ruime kamers zijn stijlvol ingericht en het fantastische dakterras heeft een gezellige, ontspannen sfeer. Iedere ochtend wordt hier een uitgebreid ontbijt geserveerd en aan het einde van de dag staat er een glas wijn van het huis voor je klaar. Maar wat dit hotel echt bijzonder maakt, is het ontzettend vriendelijke personeel. Ze geven de beste tips voor excursies, restaurants en het regelen van een privéchauffeur. Alles klopt hier. This city is magical and so is Casa Antonieta! I had my doubts as a first timer but beautiful and quaint. Most of the staff were great. Would definitely stay here again. Great location also the restaurant/ cafe is pretty good

If you have a heavy suitcase just now that there are no lifts/ elevators. The bathroom had a bit of a moldy/damp smell and I suspect that it may be because of the lack of lighting or natural lighting in the bathrooms. Not the worst thing but very notable

I have never encountered staff in the hospitality field as unprofessional and heartless as the staff at Casa Antonieta. I had a tragic incident occur that would require me to change my travel plans. I alerted Casa Antonieta immediately upon learning that I would have to change my travel plans, which was several days before I was scheduled to check in and they still refused to refund any portion of my payment (which was large) despite me and the booking agent pleading with them.

After spending a few days in a large all-inclusive resort in Cancun, it was a joy to arrive at this small, historic property in the heart of Oaxaca. Beautifully restored, the hotel felt cool, welcoming, and full of character, with well-furnished rooms that provided both comfort and style. What truly made the stay exceptional was the staff — genuinely warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Their recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, and general local tips were invaluable and added so much to our experience. The location was perfect, just a short 10-minute walk from the cathedral and the main town square, making it easy to explore all that Oaxaca has to offer. Breakfast was served in the cosy coffee shop, which opens out onto the street and is clearly popular with locals — always a great sign. The menu offered an interesting selection of healthy options, a refreshing change from typical hotel offerings. Each evening, complimentary wine was served on the rooftop terrace, creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, with the added option of enjoying excellent local cuisine from the restaurant — the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. While there may be more traditional luxury hotels in Oaxaca (and we visited a few), we could not imagine a more perfect place to stay than Casa Antonieta. For comfort, location, atmosphere, and outstanding service, it comes highly recommended.

The design of the property was very chic but was respectful of the architecture and architectural language of the city. It was very central to explore the city but still in a very quiet street. In fact, our room was so quiet, I didn’t need ear loops. The team were so friendly and attentive, it felt like you were being hosted in a friend’s über chic colonial home. I can’t praise the team enough: from the welcome on arrival, to the staff at the rooftop bar acquiring some chicharrones from the market for us when they found out we were looking for some, to the guys at Musso with our daily dose of caffeine. Everyone was so efficient and welcoming. Loved loved loved our stay.

Fantastic location, gorgeous design, and some of the best hospitality we’ve experienced. The ladies at the front desk were especially helpful and gave us great recommendations for our time in Oaxaca. We were so sad to leave and hope to return soon!!

Gorgeous property with thoughtful touches everywhere. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and remembered our names right away. The food in the restaurant is excellent as is most of the food in this city.

I loved everything!

The location was excellent, close to shopping, restaurants and attractions. The room was large and super comfortable. Above all, was the kindness and caring of the staff, who helped arrange a great itinerary for us for a day, and were always available to answer questions and provide information.

Beautiful in a special way! Intimate, green, historical, cozy, elegant, vibey- so great. It was even super for my mom in a wheel chair (one step, and she didn’t go up to the third floor terrace bar).

What an amazing hotel. Every hotel should have someone like Salvator greeting guests and making them feel at home. He made our stay extra special. The hotel is very clean and the food and cafe are amazing. The vibe is great and bed very comfortable. The staff are very welcoming and the bed is very comfortable. Highly recommend.

The property was centrally located, walking distance from bars and restaurants. Despite being very central, it’s very quiet. It was beautifully decorated, carefully selected art and decor. The property’s open air veranda was so beautiful filled with plants! Muss cafe within the property excellent serving amazing coffee. The staff were so friendly and attentive and really made us feel at home. Aircon and de-humidifier in the room was helpful in the warmer days.

Wish the room was equipped with a mini fridge.

Lovely building, beautifully decorated, wonderful welcoming staff, easy to get everywhere. Some fabulous bars and restaurants nearby. Peaceful too.

We absolutely loved this high end but small hotel. My wife and I spent three nights here Oct 20 to 23rd. We moved over to this lovely boutique hotel after spending our first two nights in Oaxaca at a "5 star" hotel. We much preferred Casa Antonieta. We found Bernice and David, who manned the "front desk" and acted in a duel capacity as concierges, just fantastic. They are the nicest and most responsive folks. We loved the MUSS CAFE which was located about 30 yards across the lobby from our room located on the ground floor (loved this room!) This little coffee shop served great espresso in the morning and wonderful small breakfasts. Most of the servers at the MUSS were friendly and nice. Casa Antonieta is centrally located and completely safe. Its nice to stay in a hotel where you are greeted with a smile and they know your name. Rooms were clean, large and great. When in Oaxaca, this is now our "go to hotel"

Excellent location, wonderful staff and lovely comfortable rooms. The Muss Cafe on site is great and there's a lovely rooftop terrace to relax in and enjoy a drink in the evening too. Would happily come back!

Our room was located off the courtyard on the ground floor which meant that it could be noisy early in the morning and in the evening. To the hotel's credit, they do encourage guests to remain silent at these hours but it's somewhat unavoidable.

Staying in Casa Antonieta was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. It felt considered, welcoming, beautiful, comfortable without being remotely fussy. The terrace is an absolute standout (as was the Kiampari on the drinks menu!). This is an excellent base from which to explore Oaxaca. I can’t wait to return one day.

10 de 10! Excelente servicio, el hotel está precioso, las habitaciones muy bonitas y cómodas. Está excelentemente ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, a 4 minutos de la Catedral y a 10 minutos de Santo Domingo (a pie). Todo el staff del hotel es muy amable y siempre sonriente (desde el personal de recepción, hasta las chicas que sirven el desayuno). Sin duda regresaremos!

Great experience

The property is beautiful. The rooms (including washrooms) are spacious and clean. Food on site is also great and you’re in the middle of everything. But most importantly - The staff is absolutely incredible. Shout out to Berenice for making our stay a really memorable one with her help, knowledge and great attitude.

We had a room on the first floor with a window facing the road. If you wake up easily by noise, ask for a room at a higher level or for one facing the back of the building. The mini bar has prices for everything, but they don’t have everything. This was confusing, because nobody tells you what you receive, but they do get the right to charge for missing items. What if they didn’t put it by accident? This is something to improve. However, this is a beautiful property and the staff is great.

The staff was excellent; they were always available, offered fantastic recommendations, and understood my logistical needs. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and spacious, which was a great retreat after a day of walking around the city, and the rooftop terrace was a wonderful place to relax.

If there is anything that could use some attention, it could be the breakfast. One morning I had the fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, and although fairly basic, I could be improved a bit with perhaps a bit more yogurt? I really enjoy a fresh breakfast and see some improvement with this particular dish.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well thought out. What really made it stand out were the small but meaningful details: comfy slippers and soft robes waiting in the room, infused water available all day to keep you hydrated, and even the option to refill your water bottles—such a smart and eco-friendly touch. You can tell the team put a lot of care into creating a comfortable, guest-centered experience. It’s these thoughtful extras that made our stay feel not just great, but memorable. Casa Antonieta was incredible! If you have the chance to stay here, you should without question. The staff here was so attentive and helpful with arrangements and recommendations. Their response time to emails was some times nearly instantaneous and everything they recommended was top notch. The room was spacious and relaxing, and had a shower with great water pressure. Fantastic restaurants, coffee shops and Mezcalerias all within a few blocks. I look forward to staying at Casa Antonieta again soon.

We stayed in a terrible Airbnb and had to make a quick change for the terrible noise and extreme temperature. We literally asked chat GPT to list the quiets hotels in Oaxaca Centro. This option came as the first one. We made the reservation using Booking and immediately called. Berenice was amazing, the hotel is super quiet and the experience changed our final day in Oaxaca.... Don't make the mistake we made, and stayed in a noisy location. Go with the best. Casa Antonieta, is the best.

A stunning hotel and place....the artistry in every inch of the place is beautiful, amazing and soothing. We had a room with a courtyard and it was like living in a spa. Really well appointed and thought out. Simply lovely and relaxing. The rooftop restaurant upstairs is wonderful also; good food, beautiful view, friendly service--like everyone in the hotel. I wished their store in the restaurant had more sizes and choices as well as prices marked on everything. The reception desk people were educated, spoke English well enough and were informative and helpful as much as they could be. The person who handled our bags was genuine and patient. We loved this place and would love to come back though we'd also love to keep it a secret!

Highly recommend this boutique hotel in a prime location. Extremely quiet except for short time periods Friday and Saturday nights. The building is an old family mansion. Rooms are elegant in an understated way. Premier amenities. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Loved the rooftop for breakfast, afternoon drinks, or a light dinner.

Excellent all around!

This is a little jewel in the center of the beautiful southern Mexican town of Oaxaca. The small hotel with less then ten rooms is an oasis to relax and thrive as well as the starting point to explore Oaxaca. The rooms are beautifully done, the courtyard with tables and many secluded seating options as well as the sunny rooftop are perfect spots to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and relaxed, they serve great cocktails and a nice breakfast.

There is nothing to not like about this property - the only caveat is that not all rooms have a window due to the architecture of the casa, but that doesn’t matter as there is plenty of space in the courtyard and on the rooftop to sit in the sun or in the shade.

Lovely location and property - would overall rate highly. Based on what we heard from our very large group of friends traveling, one of the best in the city. Very spacious, comfortable room & bed. The concierge and all staff (specifically the lovely baristas at Muss) really showcased what high level hospitality should be. Felt very personal and yet polished. They went over and above a couple times to accomodate a few things for us. Limited amenities but all fantastic. Common areas and rooftop were wonderful, and the evening complimentary glass of wine/beer was a lovely treat to enjoy the property. Would return!

Our room was an interior facing room, so it had a bit of cozy cave energy. I don’t mind it but compared to other similar properties at this price point, something to consider as it is a factor of the type of property it is. Really minor but something to flag The only real negative was: hot water would run out frequently so you would have to wait a bit if there’s two people, and we eventually pinpointed that the exhaust fan in our bathroom had a pretty danky sewer smell when turned on (we tested everything to come to this conclusion, and no it was not us ;))We just stopped turning the exhaust on and that solved the problem.

Our stay at Casa Antonieta was perfect! The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very spacious. The lobby and roof top are stunning and a perfect relaxing vibe. The location is also great and very convenient to all the restaurants, cafes, and shops. The hotel staff was also fantastic, helped us book our transportation to restaurants/day trips and helped answer any questions we had during our stay. Highly recommend!

Everything was great from the amazing room, to the staff, to the roof terrace, to the food and so on. We would move in if possible, but for now we’ll just make this our home when we are in Oaxaca. Oh, we had our little dog with us and I think she is missing it already. 10 stars if I could give it!

Absolutely nothing to say poorly about the property.

Casa Antonieta is righteously on most top places to stay lists in Mexico and you understand better why after you stay here, because pictures and reviews don't do it justice. Set in an old mansion, the property is lovely designed (if you're a fan of aesthetics and interior design, you will love it!), has big comfy rooms and the nature is invited inside in every corner. There are plants everywhere, up to the top to a beautiful rooftop terrace full of plants and with a nice view. We liked everything here and we appreciated the little details - every night you can get a free drink upstairs and every afternoon, they serve cookies and water in the lobby. In the room you find restaurants recommendations and things to see, which are quite good. Furthermore, at the reception you can find transfers to all the touristic points of interests around Oaxaca, so they have pretty much everything covered. Even the breakfast is delicious!

This place met and exceeded my high expectations. A really lovely spot to have as your home base in beautiful Oaxaca. The location is perfect for walking to all the places you'd want. The hotel itself is so pretty and charming. The cafe and terrace restaurant are so nice to hang out in with great food and drinks. And the staff was BEYOND helpful with recommendations and helping to arrange tours, restaurant reservations and activities. They were so, so wonderful!

Our room was on the first floor facing the courtyard which was filled daily with people from the adjacent cafe working on computers and working in general. Felt like we faced a conference room. Our only window faced the courtyard. People left around 7 pm but it felt off in the morning and daytime.

Casa Antonieta is aesthetic and very cute. However, the staff is not up to standard and does not reflect the rating or prices of the hotel. We had bad experiences from management to cleaners to restaurant staff.

Buyer beware! I booked a week after / during Covid and when the airline cancelled my flight without any other option, they refused to refund my money. This was within 24 hours of their deadline cancellation. They totally refused to work with me and essentially stole my money.

Charming. Rooms a little dark but so much sunny public space including a rooftop garden. Staff was wonderful. Great location and reasonably priced. Wonderful coffee shop on first floor.

This hotel is by far one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We stayed in a suite which was perfect because I had an entire separate, private space to work virtually in video calls. The internet was consistent and higher speed than most hotels I’ve stayed in. The design details, lighting, comfort, and extra touches such as robes and slippers were wonderful. The cafe and terrace restaurant are fantastic as well. Centrally located, but the building is very well sound proofed and quiet inside the room. Hospitality and friendliness of the staff made us feel at home.
