Staff were really friendly and helpful. We found the location perfect for what we wanted to do and was in walkable distance to lots of restaurants and coffee shops.

We weren’t aware at the time of booking that we would have to put down a $1600 deposit, I think this should be added to the property page or messaged to you beforehand.

Great location and spotless rooms. I also really appreciated the unique artwork in the lobby.

Given the room rate, slippers and a shower cap should be included. The breakfast had very few low-carb choices, and the espresso fell short. Furthermore, a bartender at the Oleander Bar served the cheapest rosé rather than the top-shelf option ordered. While she admitted the error, this level of service shouldn't happen at a 5-star property.

Location is great, and there is garage nearby (5 min walk) which you can book yourself via a parking app so you don't need to pay the expensive parking from the hotel. Overall cleanliness and most hotel staff was excellent.

Unfortunately we had a lot minor issues which leads to an overall negative review ("disappointing") because for a hotel of this class and price we expect excellent service and had high expectations, so we can't recommend it: - Reception directly blocked 800 Dollars on the credit card at check in for additional services like the mini bar or restaurant even as we said we won't use it or pay directly when using the service - Bathroom mirror and toilet lights didn't work and after telling reception the next day still nothing changed for the whole stay - Electronic door escutcheon hull was damaged - it worked but you expect also that the front door doesn't look like at a cheap 50 dollar motel - the mini bar freezer was leaking water / and no fridge space for our stuff (even a water didn't fit) - we only went once to the pool one afternoon but then there were no towels available and all pool loungers haven't been cleaned to use again - we had to ask for everything: used towels were gone the second day but new ones haven't been provided, hairdryer was not initially provided, no additional toilet paper role, shower gel hasn't been filled up every day Overall you can find a cheaper alternative in that area (hotel or airbnb) and don't need to pay the premium price.

Beautiful views from the roof and pool and the decor was great.

For a hotel of this caliber and cost there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail. Things like towels that felt rough and were unraveling at the sides, paper cups for coffee in the room, only one robe provided per room and no slippers, and pretty average quality bathroom products. The little details are what makes a hotel standout in it's class and are where I felt the Sun Rose failed to deliver.

As soon as you leave, they simply do not care anymore. They charged me more than what was due, 1 month after i'm still waiting to get the money back. It would be nice for them to answer the emails as well.....

In our bathroom taking a shower meant the entire bathroom turned into a swimming pool (no joke), the shower curtain (which ever way we put it) did not stop the water from going everywhere. We reported this after the first night, but nothing was being done about it unfortunately. It meant you needed around 6 large towels to dry the floor afterwards.

We had an amazing stay - it was too short. Impeccable, service and the most positive energy from D.Lo. It was such a pleasure coming and going just to be welcomed by him. Gorgeous rooms, gorgeous views. I’ll be back!

Picked this hotel somewhat at random based on reviews from an employee benefits website, and I'm so glad I did. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were elegant, and the bathroom was especially impressive. The water stayed perfectly hot, and even the choice of bath products (Molton Brown) was a thoughtful touch. The price was competitive, the staff was friendly, and the valet team truly stood out. D. Lo, in particular, was incredibly pleasant, and we were fortunate to interact with him several times throughout our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I've officially found my forever hotel.

My family and I had a great stay at the Sun Rose on a quick trip to L.A. Amanda at the front desk was so friendly and gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation; David at Valet was welcoming, and it was an easy Uber trip to the Hollywood Bowl. The rooftop pool is beautiful with incredible views. We felt well taken care of and will definitely stay there again!

Lovely hotel and staff! My room was so chic and comfortable too. I had a drink while relaxing by the rooftop pool and could not have asked for a better view. In Room Dining food was delish and the staff was very friendly and on top of everything. Location was perfect for getting around West Hollywood and the valet were friendly and remembered me each time. Overall, this was a 5-star experience. Definitely what I was looking for!

Fantastic property in every respect! Amazing location right on Sunset Boulevard but in a very upscale area rooms were luxurious with incredibly comfortable bedding. My room had a stunning view of the Los Angeles city gate. The rooftop pool deck is intimate and again stunning views. Excellent staff throughout the hotel. I would eagerly stay here again.

What an incredible stay. Fantastic Location and Incredibly friendly staff. From Concierge, Lobby, Bar to Pool, Spa and Restaurant, all the staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious and the pool had views to of downtown LA. Would highly recommend staying at this classy hotel if your visiting West Hollywood - Amazing stay and thank you again to all the staff, you made our stay memorable and comfortable.

The hotel was clean and no issues. Upon arrival we were straight away asked if we wanted an upgrade for an extra 150 dollars a night. It didn’t feel very personable, how was your flight etc just very transactional. Overall cleanliness was good. We didn’t really try the breakfast so can’t comment. If you like a quiet out of the way location then this is for you. Beverly Hills was a 10min taxi drive away which is more busy and more touristy. Around this hotel besides from a few places to eat there’s not much around. Closest convenience store was quite far as well. To use the rooftop pool I think it’s an extra cost which was a bit off putting. Overall it was a good stay, can’t really complain. Probably wouldn’t stay here again and would find a hotel with a bit more liveliness.

It is a good hotel, but it does not meet the standards of a true 5-star property. The breakfast could be significantly improved, and it lacks some of the small luxuries that guests expect at this level, such as candies or chocolates on the pillow, a more readily available concierge service, and a driver/car service for short distances. Other hotels in Los Angeles with similar rates offer these amenities.

What was truly unacceptable, however, was an event that lasted until 11:15 p.m. with very loud music, making it impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. Losing a night of rest is not acceptable in a hotel that advertises itself as 5-star. To make matters worse, a staff member informed me that the cost of that night would be credited back to my credit card. I checked out more than two weeks ago, and no refund has been processed. I have also sent multiple emails regarding this issue and have received no response.

Beautiful property in a prime spot on sunset blvd. The rooms are spacious and bright and curated thoughtfully. The staff was by far my favorite. Made the hotel feel like a home instead of just a place to lay your head on a vacation. The Lobby Concierge Adrienne was wonderful and couldn’t do enough to make you feel welcomed and cared for during my stay. Keep her forever! Other notable lovely and helpful staff was Kristen and Dee. They are so great at anticipating needs. Also gave amazing suggestions for food and fun in the area. It’s a 10/10 for me! Definitely coming back here!!

This was my second stay at the hotel, and it lived up to my positive memories. The property was in excellent condition, impeccably clean, and the staff were as warm and welcoming as ever, they recognized me from my last stay here and made me feel as though I was back home. The lobby renovations made the bar more visible and inviting. It was lively on most evenings which added to the atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The restaurant was going through a transition during my stay, hence it had a pretty limited menu. I hope the new menu will offer a wider selection and more vegetarian options. It would also be great to see more evening entertainment on-site. The rooftop area was very quiet at night, especially compared to the more active atmosphere at nearby hotels. That was a fire alarm during one night which led to an evacuation. Although this was caused by another guest and was not the hotel’s responsibility, a gesture of goodwill or compensation would have been appreciated given the disruption to our sleep.

Upscale modern hotel near the sunset strip, away from the chaos of the other touristy parts of LA

Wish the minibar fridge had some space for some personal stuff. Instead it was filled with motion sensor activated drinks

Pros: Excellent location in Sunset Boulevard. Modern and luxurious. Friendly staff. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The shower is the highlight for me: very spacious, great lighting, amazing water pressure, and quick to adjust to the desired temperature.

Cons: I had written to the property a couple of times with a particular pre-arrival request, but I did not get a response until after my stay.

Classy, boutique hotel, great location, clean, wonderful restaurant and beautiful breakfast. Just can’t fault it. Highly recommend it.

Had an amazing time celebrating mine and my partners 30th birthday at the hotel and also stayed in a suite Friday to Monday. Service was absolutely amazing throughout the stay with a big shout out to Adrienne at Concierge, Han that helped us move everything from our car to room and event space, Nick in Catering and Tanisha from event staff. We were so well taken care of and had the best weekend! Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a big life event they are wanting to celebrate or just need a weekend get-a-way!

10/10 experience - between hotel ambience, amenities, and staff!! We were greeted by Doug (so friendly and eager to please) and the concierge lead, Adrienne - she was freaking amazing. Sushi Samba is the hottest joint in town right now, booked out for weeks, and she landed us a reservation for later that evening. Will definitely be coming back!

I was so excited to stay here as I love the Hollywood regency style, and visually the hotel did not disappoint. It was gorgeous and check-in felt intimate. The room was beautiful. The rooftop is spctacullsr at night. I did have several issues during my stay with room service but the manager resolved that effectively. Comedy store is right across the street to a fun night out

We stayed at the Sun Rose for the first time 2 weeks ago but it likely would not be our last. Booked it through the "Edit" collection from Chase Sapphire Reserve; upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Paul at the front desk and Adrienne at the concierge. Check in was lightening fast but attentive. Our upgraded room was gorgeous (as is the entire hotel) and comfortable. The staff had left us a personalized welcome letter and a beautiful fruit plate; it's a small detail but the start of many small yet thoughtful details over the weekend that would make our experience exceptional and memorable. Too many highlights to count: numerous wonderful recommendations from Adrienne; Paul rushing a well-packaged Basque cheese cake for us for the road because he heard we enjoyed it (must try; it is the best cheese cake); the sublime blue crab salad, the pool, breakfast at Ospero... it is not the kind of 5-star hotel that is ostentatious, but if you are looking for relaxed elegance x West Hollywood cool, stunning design and exceptional service, this is the place. Only regret is we didn't get to experience a concert at the music venue on site; that gives me an excuse to return, hopefully soon.

We had two 3 day stays at the end of January and beginning of February bookending our trip to LA. The hotel is well located in West Hollywood with easy access. The hotel attracts a youngish vibe, music orientated with a great rooftop pool, bar and restaurant. The rooms are on the smallish side but have all amenities. The showers are fab, as is the comfortable bed. Housekeeping can be a bit erratic, but they do a good job. As I-prefer members we secured a good rate. The hotel has a street level café and bar on the ground floor. Special shout out to Carlos and Brooke who are most welcoming, efficient and a pleasure, and will do anything to make your stay comfortable.

We stayed three nights at The Sun Rose Hollywood Hotel and honestly had the best experience! The location was unbeatable—super central but still quiet and tucked away. Our skyline room was peaceful, with almost no street noise. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious (and filling!), and I loved that they served them until 11am—perfect for fitting in an early workout or a busy morning. The amenities really stood out: the gym was fully equipped, the pool was perfect for lounging and tanning, and valet service was fast and seamless. Our room was spotless—kudos to housekeeping—and the Molton Brown bath products were such a luxe detail. Huge shoutout to Adrienne at the front desk. I had a package delivered after we checked out, and she went above and beyond by tracking it and personally mailing it to my home. Incredible service! Overall, just wow. I’m so impressed—and next time I’m staying in West Hollywood, I know exactly where I’m booking.

We’re returning to The Sun Rose West Hollywood again this year for a holiday celebration, and while planning our stay we had an amazing experience working with Adrienne from the concierge team. She was incredibly thoughtful from the start and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. Adrienne helped us book the private screening room, coordinate activities, and made great suggestions that truly tailored the experience to our celebration. Her responsiveness and attention to detail made planning easy and enjoyable — truly exceptional service. We can’t wait to return!

Hotel was clean and spacious, good gym facility and staff were very friendly helpful and welcoming. Special shout out to Adrienne Miley who was so lovely and made us feel very welcomed. The staff dealt with issues very promptly and satisfactorily. The restaurant and spa was great, highly recommend trying those out while you’re staying there.

No detail is left to chance at the Sun Rose. Down to the velvety cushions in every chair, to the art deco styling, to the seasonal touches, to the in-room robes you will long to take home, every little thing is on purpose and well designed for beauty and comfort alike. The food is like poetry: each dish has layers of experiences and textures to keep you enthralled (yes, food can really be this good). Our favorite part of all was the people we met. D. Lo took excellent care of our car, helped us newbies every step of the way, and even held my phone just for me when I accidentally left it behind! His warmth and good humor were an excellent start to a perfect stay. Doug at the front desk told us all we needed to know, with style and infectious enthusiasm. He gave us insider tips right away so we would have an even better experience. We also adored the heated saltwater pool on the roof, “basement” bowling, city views over dinner, and world class spa. You will not regret choosing to stay here!! Bring cash for tips, as this staff earns them a thousand times over!

Had an amazing two-week stay and am sad to be leaving—especially since my daughter is staying on for another two weeks and I’m very envious! The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and the rooftop pool is fantastic with plenty of comfy loungers. The staff were always friendly and helpful, with a special thanks to Adrienne for going above and beyond. After staying in hotels all over the world, this is one of the best. Boutique, arty and uncrowded. Large rooms, great rooftop and special views. After the Pendry rebrand in August 2025, the newly named Sun Rose West Hollywood remains a good mid-luxury choice, sandwiched between the Mondrian and Sunset Tower and facing the Andaz West Hollywood.. Rooms from 32 sqm/345 sqft have full length windows, blue and gold decor, nods to 1930s Art Deco and light spacious bathrooms and separate WC. Well sound-proofed, comfortable beds, decent amenities and abundant complimentary water. Wolfgang Puck's rooftop restaurant serves good food with super LA views - especially at night. Bar staff are super and Keana in the restaurant is exceptional. Concierge Adrienne is another treasure, proactive and practical. She adds class. Housekeeping is excptional. Thank you for working round my timings. Pressing my shirt for free was much appreciated. Ospero serves decent breakfasts but needs to rethink the hotel guest experience. Ospero doesn't yet know what it is...bar, pizzeria, coffee shop? At breakfast hotel guests have to walk right through it to order at the street counter.

Amazing hotel and even more amazing staff! Big shoutout to Adrienne the Concierge and Arturo and George in the Security department! I left my bag in the hotel room and only realised it when I arrived at the airport. The staff there immediately leapt into action and delivered my bag from the hotel to my hands at the airport!
