Check-in was fine Room was clean and comfortable, with all the required mod cons displayed and stored in a rather quirky way on the walls. Bathroom was more than adequate with complimentary products. Plenty of options for food and drink in the bar / restaurant, but the layout was such that you had to sit very near a potentially very noisy kids play area. Plenty of options to relax or play games in the games area above reception. Breakfast offered a decent selection of cereals, pastries, breads, and hot options - although the hot gluten free options which seemed to be the only hot offered, had a strange taste. A nice few pubs and restaurants within walking distance 10 mins or so stroll along the canal to the city centre

We had twin beds that had single duvets in double duvet covers - so a big flap of bed cover to contend with !! On site parking was chargeable - £10 for 24 hours, but the review we read said it was only £6. It should really be free as it on their site. The cooked breakfast consisted of mostly Gluten Free products, which had a strange taste to them. As part of our booking we were offered a 'free cocktail'. Great you'd think, but upon producing our voucher, we were offered alcoholic or non-alcoholic options of what was basically lemon squash, so very disappointing (but a nice gesture all the same).

Very trendy with a chilled vibe. Breakfast was excellent and lots of extra touches like a free drink and tea and coffee available.

Noxious, inescapable sewage smell (from nearby canal maybe). Room directly above Hi-NRG gym workout session that started a long time before I wanted to get up, with fast disco music and lots of shouting: "come on ladies, feel the burn" etc. The opposite of the restful break I thought I'd get at a modern hotel facility

The uniqueness, the staff were also great, the hospitality side was fantastic. Breakfast was great too.

The bedroom could have been cleaner. And the headboard was missing, just Velcro taped to a wooden panel which we both got our hair and clothes stuck on, so Not the most comfy!

You get what you pay for. Room is very basic.

We didn’t receive any housekeeping whilst there and left a day early as had to keep asking for coffee/towels etc. Also found the pillows very hard and uncomfortable. It also wasn’t clear that there is a reasonable amount of parking on site. So worth driving in first to check before trying elsewhere.

we have stayed here a few times now and we love it the staff are exceptional and so friendly especially I think his name was David, he is slim build, grey hair and glasses. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed sorted our parking out for us as we arrived later than we expected (What a nice Guy) all staff are very friendly especially towards the dog, Harry loves it at the Hotel. Will more certainly be returning it is out go to place in chester such nice walks around for the dog on the Canal instead of walking on the roads.

Nothing really all good, maybe a set of draws in the room would be nice at the side of the bed to puts bits in. But I get it the style of the hotel.

Locality & easy walking distance to everything, Chester is an amazing place to visit, would highly recommend a visit, with Wrexham only a q5 minut train trip.

The property was really lovely. It had a nice bar and reasonably priced drinks. They had branded umbrellas that could be rented for £2, which was perfect for us as we were going to a festival and it was pouring down. The room itself was comfortable and the TV allowed phone connections which I never really come across in hotels.

The noise from the aircon was atrocious and majorly impacted our overall sleep. We turned it off multiple times throughout the night but it would automatically come back on randomly. When I mentioned this at the reception when we were checking out, staff simply told me it was because they were an eco hotel and that we just needed to turn the fan down. I appreciate that, but this isn’t something we were advised when we checked in so we had no idea we needed to do that. Additionally we accidentally left one of the rented umbrellas in the room and our key card was cancelled at 12 on the dot so we were unable to return to the room to retrieve it. I informed the hotel staff of this at check out and they advised they would return the umbrella but they haven’t and now we have been charged £20. Appreciate it is our mistake for forgetting it but I feel the hotel staff could’ve been more helpful as we did make them aware of the issue.

Room was comfortable and slept well - location was a little further out than I thought. We bought some breakfast in the morning and it was disgusting I wouldn’t feed the sausage my dog.

Was dirty up on arrival all cups and rubbish left out everywhere in the lobby tables not wiped and were unclean to sit down at which instantly gave me a bad impression.

I broke my toe in the room due to a door stop in the floor that blended into the carpet so I didn't see it which spoiled our stay. Member of staff we reported it to lacked any empathy and was very defensive.

Clean modern and very reasonably priced. It was our wedding anniversary and we were gifted with a drink each and decorated bedroom which was thought was lovely.

Would liked to have been able to park at hotel but parked near train station which wasnt a far walk so that was fine.

I loved the room. The 24 hour pizza was a fab idea. Nice relaxed clean hotel.

The property was lovely. Really welcoming and loved the quirkiness of it. The reception let us check in early for which we were really grateful for. The rooms were clean and comfortable and really quiet at night.

We booked this hotel in order to get to an event at Chester Race course. Parking is limited and local information is OK. The receptionist was helpful to get us checked in and to our room with a self-help luggage trolley! Clearly a busy hotel. Had not realised we were right next to Waitrose and that was most convenient the following morning.

Room size felt a bit small. The bar area was very busy when we came back and it was hard for the staff to keep it looking clean. They were most helpful and working at top speed.

Breakfast overall good but bacon grey and not cooked enough all 3 days. Staff great just one guy, biggish with curly dark hair was really unhelpful as if we were bothering him asking for assistance. Coffee machines very different- one really bitter and horrible. Shame because I do find the general culture and atmosphere very refreshing otherwise.

Relaxing atmosphere at all times of the day, staff helpful with information about where to go in Chester. Breakfast great, room lovely, enjoyable stay at the Moxy.

Near the station and acceptable breakfast

This hotel is very different from the pictures you find online. Suffocating room with no air con and neary fixed windows you can't open even in the heat. The bathroom wasn't in top condition as well: dirty, mold around the bath tub, deteriorated mirror, poor quality shampoo/bath soap. Even if it's located near the station, the surroundings are quite scary and abandoned.

The canal side location

The awful beds far too soft and the loud noises waking us up every am. Staff all very young and not equipped to deal with complaints.

Not really advised about onsite parking. It's very limited and requires payment. Followed hotel advice and parked nearby at station. Short walk with heavy bags only to discover available spaces outside hotel door. Wasn't really communicated that well

The location

Awful beds far too soft and no support at all. No chairs in the room. Woken up very early both mornings extreme loud noise, like a generator. Video the sounds, Staff not interested.

Great location at Chester, near the canals and about 10 minutes of a wonderful walk to reach the city center. The breakfast was delicious with great choices. Special mention for the special offers of the month, in our case, the cocktails bundle was amazing for a late drink after the day.

Everything was on point!

Bed was comfortable, and it was easy to get into town. Supermarket next door was great. It wasn't too far to walk from the station car park.

No parking on site. The toilet door didn't lock, the curtain pull was broken. The welcome cocktail wasn't great. The Prosecco was expensive, especially considering a bottle from the supermarket next door was cheaper than a single glass.

There was a friendly welcome at the Reception / Bar area. The hotel and room were very clean, well maintained and in good, decorative order. The check-in and check-out procedure was smooth and timely.

The double room was great, just a tad on the small side with no drawers for smaller items of clothing. We ended up using our suitcase as a drawer. The bathroom toilet paper was of an inferior quality.

Goede locatie op loopafstand van het station en het centrum. Leuk gelegen aan het kanaal met een aantal restaurants en supermarkt in de buurt. Mooie ruime moderne kamer. Wanneer raam dicht is, geen geluid van buiten maar wel een beetje van de bovenburen.

Hingen wat spinnenweb aan het plafond en wat stof voor de airco. Verder wel een schone indruk.

Location was ideal. Not quite your average hotel with all the great, quirky furniture and spaces. The staff were always on hand to help with anything needed.

It is a little quirky in design but smart and clean. I loved the under-bed light that comes on when it senses your movement on heading to the bathroom at night, then goes off after you get back in bed. Also I did not hear a sound from other rooms.

The location was perfect with the Chester East railway station, Chester high street, eateries and Waitrose very closeby.

The rooms felt a bit crammed and the beds were not exactly comfortable. We had to order a change of sheets as ours dint appear very clean. The food was alright but not the best.

VERY dog friendly - water bowl & treats in reception gave me the correct vibes immediately. Gorgeous leather dog bed in the bedroom, it was amazing! Very comfortable for the humans too!

Rien de particulier. Nous y avons passé 4 nuits. Les petits-déjeuner étaient parfaits... mais le tarif de 13 Livres est un peu élevé. Il y a également à noter le tarif du parking (à la gare toute proche) : environ 10 Livres par jour.

Great location for a 15 minute stroll to the centre of Chester. The room was really clean and comfortable with great toiletries and fluffy towels. We'd stay again.

Saff were super friendly, and always ready to help. Location is absolutely top, only a casual 10mins walk to the slap bang middle of the City Centre, but lots of great pubs & restaurants literally moments away, nice canal to walk along too. Bed was very comfortable, both of us slept very well. Plenty of room. Good TV. I didn't have high hopes for breakfast, but thought it was one of the best hotel ones & setups I've had, it absolutely had everything you could think of (although, I did find it strange there were no tomatoes & mushrooms for the full English section, but the bits there were decent quality). Setup was really cool & modern, definitely good value for a nice weekend away. Bathroom was adequate it does it's job, great shower space.

The shower while lots of room which was great, the actual head was leaking quite badly.
