Great staff in the hotel and the restaurant
Aircon in the room took some understanding.
Very good location, clean room and comfortable bed.
The window of the hotel is sealed so you cannot open the window for some fresh air. You cannot see through the window either as the glass isn't transparent. The AC kept on switching off constantly. There was a door between my room and the room next door which meant that I had to endure all the noise coming from the neighbouring room since everything can be heard.
Okay breakfast, very comfortable bed, quiet room
Nice communal areas. Nice bathrooms. Location. Changing cupboard and robes use of fridge
Bird poo all over terrace and lit up under light at night wall covered in shit not very pleasant and a real let down for the exec room price versus quality Rooms not quite as nice as they look online. My room 415 had no conditioner in the bottle. The toiletries seemed cheap generic ones not the nicely scented ones other reviewers raved about. Roast potatoes were awful on main beef sharing dinner, beef almost over aged very pungent (I’ve worked in several butcheries and know when it’s on the turn as it tasted slightly last night) breakfast £20 a head the mushrooms on toast said wild but they were just white mushrooms and sorrel sorbet on creme brûlée not pleasant at all, overall good and drink a bit fir coat no knockers. The chef was throwing a tantrum we heard him shouting they’re screwing us with all these checks on etc not very professional to hear in dining room. Also solo mocktail had an unpleasant taste, all hit over proved and not as good as it should have been, but receptionist was very friendly on check in.
Food was great as were the staff. Position was great, close to the centre but far enough away to be quiet.
Always friendly staff on reception who were extremely helpful. Very clean room. Fantastic location.
Would rather not have an adjoining door to the next room.
Loved the location, how friendly the staff were, decor, cup and saucers. Organic tea and coffee choices, bottled cow's milk in fridge.
Staff friendly food good.
Booked king room but room was small and window was covered in frosted film. Could not see outside.
Location ideal for finding your way around Chester
Nothing
De kamer die we hebben gehad was toch net even iets anders/leuker dan een normale hotelkamer in deze prijsklasse.
The hotel is in an amazing spot ,1 min walk from the park and couple minutes from the shopping center,we have stayed at this hotel a few times now And we couldn't fault it rooms are beautiful clean very modern, the bar area is really nice and the restaurant is amazing as well,
Lovely stylish bathroom
Every staff member was friendly and welcoming. The hotel location was great. Lovely balcony room on the fourth floor.
Nothing not to like.
Location is great, lovely decor and friendly helpful staff
Staff were very friendly, hotel itself was really nice and the room was stylish, comfortable and clean.
Have more vegetarian sausages in stock for breakfast.
Fabulous location, friendly and welcoming staff. The breakfast was so good.
It's a lovely hotel, but I do think the room was overpriced compared to others in Chester
The property was clean.
There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Great location only a few minutes walk to city centre and attractions. Great freshly cooked breakfast.
No parking on site, although used the open air car park on Browns Square. The Forge (in house) restaurant had a limited menu.
Loved the ambiance. Lovely reception area/bar and restaurant. Beautiful room. Immaculate and loved the theme of the room
Nothing not to like other than would have preferred skimmed milk in room. But this is my very niche preference. The little bottle of cows milk was a lovely touch though.
Great hotel! Clean, comfortable, friendly staff and a good buffet breakfast. Handy location for the train station and the city centre.
Nothing!
A good hotel not too far from the center of town, and the Roman amphitheater (5-10 minute walk), with an excellent breakfast and sort-of nearby validated parking.
You do have to park in a garage that is about an 8 minute walk from the hotel. But I learned that this is just pretty typical when travelling in the UK with a car.
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Excellent food in the restaurant. Very good bathroom.
Nothing.
From arrival, we were impressed by the hotel’s modern, stylish and well-maintained surroundings, high standards, cleanliness, comfort, quality and excellent service. Its central location, within walking distance of Chester city centre, makes it an ideal choice for a short city break. We would especially like to thank the teams who made our stay so enjoyable reception particularly Sophie, Ryan, Peter. The lead housekeeping manager Pauline and her team, the chefs and servers for breakfast.
No gym and parking. Parking has a solution.
Lovely modern hotel, comfortable soundproof room with fabulous bathroom. All the staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend
Clean comfortable room
Nothing
Had a one night stay at this lovely hotel. From the moment you enter you are made to feel welcome. This hotel’s staff are its greatest asset. The room was really nice and the bed comfy. Great bathroom. We can highly recommend this hotel. Our one mark down if anything would be the breakfast. Poached egg was snotty, sausages very thin and looked undercooked, our cooked breakfast came while we were eating cereal but the staff were again really nice.
Facilities and location. Comfortable room. Clean.
No opening windows.
Everything
Nothing
The hotel was clean, contemporary and stylish. The staff were very helpful. The room was colourful and nicely decorated in keeping with our chosen ‘clock’ theme. Loved the shower and the floor tiles. Really appreciated the little bottle of milk in the fridge! (Far easier than using lots of little sachets that don’t open easily!) Some of the food was sensational - eg. The cauliflower steak delicious (see photo) and Guinness sticky toffee pudding. The location not bad - around an 8 minute walk from a suggested multi storey. Good that this also reduced the daily 24 hour parking fee.
The bed was quite high and not particularly comfortable. Also, it seemed as it was going down at both sides so my husband and I felt we were going to roll off the edges! Although some of the food was incredible, some was disappointing eg. the French onion soup was rather bland and the veggie sausages tasted fatty.

It seemed to be newly refurbished. It was absolutely lovely decor. Rooms were beautiful. The location was fantastic and the staff went out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible.
We liked everything.
Fantastic suite with a lovely bathroom and large balcony.
Nothing! It was all fantastic
The property was ok but extremely overpriced!
It was beautifully presented, both the hotel & the rooms. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in
Nothing!
Alles... gewoon zeer goed hotel... zeldzaam
Niks...
Everything was a lovely hotel and the room was superb.
There was nothing not to like.
What an amazing hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly. With the lovely lady sharing recommendations in Chester itself. Always good to have insider information! The hotel is beautifully presented with a fantastic bar area. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looked very appealing and we would have been happy to if we hadn’t already got a reservation booked elsewhere. We stopped in one of the Tudor rooms overlooking the church and it was stunning. Immaculately clean and decor was beautiful. Great hot drinks facilites. The shower was great too! We will definitely return and recommend to all for a stay in Chester. Only a few minutes from the city centre, great location. We used the Browns Yard Euro car park nearby and had no problems at all. Two minutes walk away and good value.
Excellent location and lovely hotel stay!

Very clean lovely decor
The location is fantastic — just a short five‑minute walk to the Eastgate Clock, which made exploring the city centre really easy. Our room was one of the horse‑racing themed rooms, and we loved the décor. It felt stylish, modern, and a bit different from the usual hotel look. We stayed during a heatwave, so the air conditioning was an absolute blessing. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we slept really well.
The only downside to our stay was breakfast. The food itself was good quality, but the range of options felt quite limited. We had to book a time slot, and both mornings were 09:45, which meant a few of the items had already disappeared by the time we arrived. It would be great to see more variety and more consistent replenishment.
Amazing decor, quality staff and breakfast. Comfortable bedding and very quiet, which was lovely.
Parking was far from hotel and not included at the price charged for hotel, which I think it should be. We’ve stayed at closer hotels in town with parking included for less money, so it’s a shame. Apart from that, it’s still a great hotel and we would stay there again.
Modern and room bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was excellent in this heat. Both dinner and breakfast were good with all the staff very helpful.

Everything highly recommended

Great location. Comfortable and excellent service.
Very nice hotel and nothing negative to say.
We had such a lovely stay at Hotel Indigo in Chester. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and genuinely helpful — nothing felt too much trouble, and it really made a difference. The hotel itself is gorgeous: stylish, spotless and really well looked after. Our room was a great size with an extremely comfortable bed, and the whole space felt really well put together. The bathroom was immaculate, the shower was lovely, and the complimentary toiletries were great quality — a nice little touch. We ate in the Forge restaurant and had the steak for two, and honestly, it was superb. It completely exceeded our expectations in every way — quality, cooking, presentation — genuinely the best steak meal we’ve ever had. We didn’t get chance to try breakfast as we had to leave earlier than planned, but based on everything else, I’m sure it would’ve been just as good. We enjoyed the stay so much that we’re already looking at other Indigo Hotels for future little breaks. Highly recommend.
There was honestly nothing we didn’t like. If pressed, the only tiny thing was the duvet — it was a bit warm for us. There is air‑conditioning, we just couldn’t quite strike the right balance between the two. Not a big deal at all, just a small preference. The only other thing worth mentioning is that there’s a master switch for the lights right next to the bed as well as by the door. It’s handy, but it did cause a bit of confusion in the middle of the night, so it’s worth working out which switch does what before you go to sleep. Everything else was spot‑on.
Lovely room with quality fittings and decor
Breakfast was very average for the cost of the room
Everything, the staff the room totally enjoyable experience 😄
It was very modern and clean
The bottles of wine I found to be rather expensive
Friendly staff. Lovely room-clean, modern decor. Great facilities. Rooms had everything we needed…dressing gowns and iron/board. Fabulous restaurant and bar. Breakfast was great.
Lack of parking…but great location and parking nearby.
We have just enjoyed a short break at the Hotel Indigo in Chester. The Hotel is in an ideal location, and from the time we arrived the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. A lovely spotlessly clean room with excellent shower, tea and coffee making facilities etc. The food was delicious and an altogether delightful stay.
Loved it all
Nothing not to like
Lovely well located hotel, super comfy bed, breakfast was delicious and staff were all friendly and very helpful
Nothing
Friendly staff and every thing we requested was dealt with quickly . Biscuits and water every day a nice touch and the bar area very nice
Room needs more cupboard space and pillows very soft
Location modern interior staff at front desk very helpful
Everything was lovely.
The entire hotel was spotlessly clean. All staff we met were incredibly helpful. Sophie on reception was sublime - very friendly and gave us the perfect restaurant recommendation once she knew what food we were after - we got a fantastic welcome from her
Had a great stay, rooms smart and clean, serviced whilst we were out, good breakfast, hotel location good for city centre.
Nothing
Brilliant, lovely staff and good facilities. Hotel is in a great location - only a short distance to the town centre and attractions.
Car parking, the only negative - it would be good if there were some vouchers available or discounts at closeby car parks... We had a bigger BMW SUV and some of the car parks would not have been suitable so had to park at a nearby Euro Car Parks for 24 hrs.
Loved the style and very welcoming staff
Nothing
Location and cleanliness
I thought the breakfast could have been better , the hotel is lovely I have absolutely no problem with the hotel.
Clean, welcoming comfortable beds
Bathroom Lights were difficult to navigate doors very noisy Tv casting didn’t work in the two rooms we booked
The decor was lovely, rooms spacious and comfortable seating/beds. Lovely smell throughout the property and very clean.
Breakfast was poor. Limited options on the à la carte menu and couldn’t mix or match items from this menu. The breakfast buffet was also very basic. The food was lukewarm at best. Limited options for the continental breakfast. Sausage and bacon was poor quality. Parking too far away.
Stayed before . Everything is 100%
Nothing to dislike really
Great stay, the hotel staff were fantastic. The room standard and quality was great. Finished to a standard, definitely recommend this hotel and staff.
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the train station. My mam and I loved our stay. We loved how comfortable the pillows were, and the beautiful scent throughout the hotel made it feel even more welcoming.
Friendly welcoming staff, clean nest and tastefully decorated room.
.
Great location. Room was super spacious and comfortable! Staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative.
Staff very friendly and courteous. Clean room and bathroom. Great location only a few minutes walk from city centre.
Breakfast was a slight disappointment (buffet style) but apparently they are going to revert to ordering breakfast which should mean hotter food. Coffee machine in restaurant was below average and couldn’t drink it.
Nice clean room food excellent and staff very friendly would stay here again
Everyone was so lovely
The pillows !! SO comfy. The decor was great, Staff was friendly and helpful, Our luggage was delivered to the room. We were able to check in early in too after had requested it.

Great location. Beautiful interior , exceptionally clean . Attentive staff
I liked everything. We came by train but I imagine not having a car park might be difficult for some .
Location- very central. Quiet. Excellent level of comfort.
All good
Friendly staff and comfortable room
Air con bit noisey
Lovely bar area. Comfortable room. Very friendly staff
It’s clean, rooms are nice, staff very nice and professional.
Parking is not available on site and it’s about a 5 minute walk away, but aside from that it’s a great place to stay
The room was well lit, we stayed in a click style room. The shower was the best I have ever had in a hotel.
The staff were absolutely exceptional. The team was friendly, helpful, fun, enthusiastic and obviously a happy and tight knit bunch. It really was a very pleasing environment. Everything else about the hotel was also great. Our room was beautifully decorated, extremely quiet and spacious, and the food was lovely.
Everything was wonderful. It was wonderful to be able to choose your included breakfast from an à la carte menu. The only minor complaint was that on a couple of occasions my eggs were very undercooked.
From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly and professional staff. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and has a warm, relaxing atmosphere. My room was modern, comfortable, and very well equipped. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The bar and restaurant team were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. The food was absolutely superb, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. It was one of the highlights of my stay. The location is perfect—just a short walk from Chester’s historic city centre, making it easy to explore this beautiful city. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in the UK. I highly recommend Hotel Indigo Chester to anyone visiting Chester, whether for business or leisure. I will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable!
Everyone was friendly and helpful especially Sophia on the reception desk. The room was a good size and very clean. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and the serving staff were polite.
I booked a ‘premium’ room. The only thing premium was price. Room very small considering the management have named it as though it was a suite. The room is so small you can’t even open the fridge properly as the bed stops this. It’s really not worth paying the extra for the balcony. The balcony over looks a main road and there is no actual segregation from the other balcony’s. Meaning if you leave the door open someone from the next room can pretty much walk right into your room. No clothes storage space on the room. Not even a coat hanger. Redeeming factor was comfortable bed. Parking pretty rubbish. The recommended car park a good ten minutes on foot. So make sure you drop everything first if you are driving. The Apcoa car park is also too small for most modern cars
Very welcoming and stylish.
Nothing at all
Booked for 3 nights in a king room. Overall the hotel is good but there are issues Location is perfect. 10 mins walk from river and city and just outside the busy area so not a lot of noise. On arrival we were told we didn’t have breakfast included when we had a booking confirmation clearly stating “member exclusive breakfast” this was eventually cleared up but not immediately, a phone call to reservations and then Peter from reception came to find us to confirm we were right. The room we had was nice, comfy bed and good size. Bathroom cleanliness is questionable, soap scum around hugs off shower door and dust on lamps and down side of bed. Biggest issue in the bedroom, the window was frosted, no view at all. I understand why due to neighbours and privacy but this could be advised before booking and on check in, only rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the road have clear windows. We were told we could move but not until the second night. It didn’t bother us that much but was disappointing when we weren’t aware beforehand We ate in the forge restaurant on the first evening (see separate review) whilst food was good we were charged incorrectly ending in a £130 overcharge. There were a lot of reassurances from reception and the restaurant that this would be solved and we would receive emails confirming this. We were offered 30% of Room rate as compensation but again no written confirmation of this. The next morning we had none of this, after speaking to Sophie on reception everything was resolved within an hour. Both refunds received and a printed confirmation, thanks to her or Faith was restored. On the bar their team have little to no knowledge for recommendations, gin not served in correct glass and lemon put into the glass by hand, not with tongs. I have higher expectations of a hotel bar. We would stay again but with alot of new staff (we heard this excuse several times) more training is required. Bed, location and food great but puts a sour taste on a special occasion when problems occur and are not resolved quickly. Thanks again to Sophie.
The staff on reception & in the restaurant for breakfast were fabulous. Nothing too much trouble any time of the day. Ordered special occasion balloon etc, waiting in the room on arrival.
Nothing
Location, cleanliness and friendly staff - excellent hotel
Only negative was the buffet breakfast was not hot enough

Our first impression that this was a very corporate hotel but actually it was at breakfast we felt welcomed and more comfortable. We only stayed one night en route home after our tour of Wales. The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of the city centre. We had a family room which was a little cramped with only one small chair to sit on although the bathroom was excellent. The beds were comfortable and we had a very good nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent. The only downside was parking and although included in the cost ion our hotel stay it was at public car park we were given two tickets to insert on the way out but ended up paying £20 again in order to exit. When we told staff we were told it was nothing to do with them!
The rooms were excellent. Good decor and very clean. Good extras, coffee machine, biscuits, canned water, milk etc. 2 robes provided in my single occupancy room but none in my 2 daughters room but not an issue as I gave them mine. Overall impressed with the accommodation. Most staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Breakfast was very poor. We stayed 2 nights and first morning there was no hot buffet food for full English available, due to supplier not delivering on time. Manager was rude to me saying I hadn't booked a table when I definitely had booked the day before at the reception desk - it wasn't showing on the system. Next morning breakfast was fully available although the quality of the full English was poor. Meal in The Forge was very expensive and the menu very limited. I was informed that if I parked in Pepper Lane car park the hotel had a deal to £12pd instead of £20pd. On leaving the car park I entered the paid ticket provided by reception and it didn't work so was left blocking the exit. I fortunately had the entry ticket with me and used this to pay £40 and exit. Reception did however refund this.
Clean, Modern and well presented. Staff professional and polite Rooms well equipped and a comfy bed. Great location fir city centre
There is no parking. 8 min walk to recommended car parks and between £12 and £16 for 24 hrs - ery busy on a Saturday afternoon so had to wait for spaces
Super hotel, very clean, excellent staff friendliness and breakfast very good.
the room was spacious and clean on arrival, the bed very comfortable location excellen, breakfast was good and staff lovely.
I have stayed with you before and in your other hotels- the hotel is very comfortable and nice- I only have one peice of constructive feedback- On saturday night I got back late to my hotel room around 10pm and the england match was on - I was a bit peckish and called down to order just some bread and was told room service had stopped and they couldnt meet this request.. For the cost of the rooms I think it would be good customer service to try to mee the simple requests ( understand no cooked food ) but surely a bread basket was manageable?
Great location to local amenities short 5 minute walk into the city centre. Comfortable night sleep and big spacious bed.
Cleanliness of room. Dust around the room visibly and physically. Make up left on mirror by previous occupants which hadn’t been cleaned up. Addressed with staff however only got acknowledged when checking out. That’s all that let down the stay.
The location was excellent! 5-10 minute to the centre for shops, bars & restaurants. The room we had was the Tudor theme and it felt really cosy. The air conditioning was a real blessing after being out in the sun all day. The bed was one of the comfiest we’ve ever slept in. We had a couple of cocktails at the bar which were very nice & the bar area had a nice social but relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was great with plenty of options to choose from.
The only and very minor issue we notified was the extraction fan didn’t work in our bathroom but really not an issue.
Staff were amazing, room was beautiful and cool during heat wave
The way breakfast is served has changed from ordering a cook breakfast to self serve which isnt usually an issue however I feel the quality of the sausage and bacon is not as good. Plenty of other choice. I did find sitting opposite a fridge containing large cuts of meat quite off putting during breakfast, perhaps this is just me but I wanst comfortable
Excellent breakfast ,
