Very comfortable room, only stayed one night to attend a concert at the racecourse. Great location, very central, with parking very close by. Fairly expensive at £16 for 24 hours but very convenient. Very helpful staff. We were offered an immediate, early check in, which was a bonus.
We stayed in the Zoo Apartment on a Friday night, and there was some noise from a nearby bar. The volume did go down considerably after midnight.
Absolutely beautifully decorated building throughout.we stayed in the safari suite, loved the double jacuzzi with sky light above it.The room was very spacious & was very nicely decorated with thoughtful finishing touches. The air con unit came in very useful but also had a gas fire if we had stayed in the winter.we would definitely stay here again.
The room, the location.

A beautiful property which has been renovated to a high standard. Very quiet even though the location is so central. Staff great, Fatima was extremely helpful and kind to us, so thank you Fatima.
Nothing to dislike.
Everything . Location cleanliness and the super soft luxury bed .
The bed was one of the the comfiest I've ever slept in
The apartment was clean and comfortable. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The property is tastefully decorated.
The room was too hot and the small air conditioning unit was not effective and too noisy to be left on overnight. The pipe from this ACU had to hang outside the window. The hotel is next to the car park ramps and the view from the bathroom window is of cars going up and down the ramps. The view from our window was of the building site next door and the beer garden below, so it was quite noisy at times. When you are paying premium prices you expect more. We were disappointed with our stay and do not consider this value for money when there are other hotels in better locations with facilities such as their own bar, spa facilities etc.
Great location, cosy hotel
some staff excellent - one bad experience of rudeness ruined things for us
Very nice hotel, staff were exceptional. So friendly and helpful. The room was a great size, the bed was very comfortable. Had lots of nice touches like free sweets and milk. Very good location, not far to walk into town.
Location
Noise from outside
What an absolute gem of a place! Superb room and absolutely spotless. Safari room was excellently furnished and the Jacuzzi bath was a treat and a half!
So central . Right next to a car park . Excellent location. We would stay again , it’s so clean and modern. It has a tiny kitchen too which seems to be a thing in hotel rooms which we love . I highly recommend .
Na
Lovely apartment! Comfy bed, great seating area
Kitchen area small and small Friday
Central Clean Luxurious Dog friendly
No lift
The room (Polo) was very nice, lots of space, very big comfy bed, great facilities including mini bar, nice touch with fresh milk in the fridge for the tea / coffee.
The rooms are excellent. Clean, comfortable and very well equipped with kitchen facilities and a fridge. The receptionist who welcomed us was excellent. Knowledgeable and very helpful. He carried our case and showed us to out room.
The room was very very warm. There was a fan, but it didn't provide much relief.
The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. It was kept to a nice standard. The mini bar was well stocked with a nice selection. Water pressure was good and the space in the bathroom was good.
The room was HOT, with nothing more than a desk fan to try and combat that, which made sleep quite hard to come by. There was a lot of outside noise, deliveries to nearby busnisses seemed to arrive all through the night.
Great location and facilities for a brief stay in the heart of Chester.
The room lacked external windows.
Spotlessly clean. Great facilities
Nothing!
Great location by the shops and car park we were going to Ivy which is a few steps away Staff really friendly and helpful and rsuite 1762 With 2 bedrooms fab
Nothing Maybe looks a bit shabby outside but the inside is fab
Felt luxurious. Clean and comfortable with an amazing soft, cosy bed.
Limited views due to location
Clean, good location and the staff were really really good.
The room temp was a little difficult to control. Either too hot or cold.
Arrived to a beautiful smelling reception area with a friendly face. We stared in The Ralph apartment which was lovely with lots of space and everything we needed.
The apartment was the front of the building so unfortunately we could hear music from the bars till 12am.
Location
Great location for staying in Chester town centre. Staff were really nice and very helpful. They put our family on the same floor which was great as we had a few of us staying for a wedding
Rooms were a bit warm, during the hot weather. They did provide AC units but were not too effective.
Location, cleanliness, rooms, facilities

Gorgeous room. Staff so helpful and friendly. Great city centre location. Happily recommend it. Great value for money.
Air conditioning would be nice but it’s a listed building so it’s probably not allowed. Two fans were already in the room and we were told to ask for more if needed, but this was plenty.
Great central location with car park next door. Nice pub next door. Room (Polo) was spacious and well equipped. Comfy bed Staff - when we found them- were pleasant.
Room was stiflingly hot despite very old, inefficient air con unit which needed the hose to hang out of the window. Didn’t throw out any cool air at all. Also a fan in the room but was ridiculously hot in there and we barely slept a wink. Small bathroom with no free surfaces to put our toilet bags on so they went on the floor and got soaked when we used the shower. Shower screen too short so whole floor got wet. No staff at reception when we arrived and we had to phone a number on a card to get someone to check us in. No lift to top floor rooms.
Room was really great great location friendly staff
Ohh garden next door the smell of cigarettes came through the ventilation
Everything was perfect EXCEPT no Air Conditioning. Staff had set up a fan and a portable A/C unit with a hose out of an open and noisy window with pigeons nesting outside. Both were poor and noisy. I will stay there again in the winter but never again in the summer
The atmosphere and room humidity
The building is beautiful and the rooms are so lovely and modern. We were met at check in with a lovely male staff member who made us feel very welcome.
The cleaning staff in the morning outside the room woke us up around 8.00am. They weren’t considerate of anyone who may be sleeping, having loud conversation and banging around. Also the beds were 2 singles and you completely sink into them.
Beautiful apartment. Clean and comfy. Fantastic location.
Some noice from the pub's garden next door. Out apartment backed onto it. Until midnight. A little frustrating as we had a child.
I had a great stay and would definitely return and recommend. The lady on reception at check-in was very friendly and even upgraded me to a room with air conditioning as it was very hot the night of my s tay. Room was well equipped, clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was good.
The out of hours access panel on the door wasn't working when I returned late. However the night porter answered promptly and let me in so it was not a major issue.
Very good location
Amazing location, great parking, spacious apartment
specifically our apartment when you open windows very often you could smell food cooking from the restaurant and voices of people sitting there
The room was lovely and the staff were really friendly. Location was good, especially if you want to see the sites of Chester.
The room was hot so we needed to open the windows which meant it was quite noisy from the bars across the street, I appreciate this can’t always be helped.
We stayed for 1 night in the Money Penny apartment. The guy on reception was really helpful and checked us in quickly and helped us with our suitcase to the apartment. We had requested for a travel cot prior to arriving and this was already in our room on arrival. The apartment itself was absolutely stunning and very clean. There was air conditioning in the bedroom which was great as we visited during a heatwave. It was lovely and quiet all night, we didnt hear a thing outside and had the window open in both the living area and the bedroom. The beds are super comfy too! The location is perfect. You can park in the multi story car park which is right next to the hotel and everything you would want to do in Chester city is close. The Zoo and Chesire Oaks are also a very short drive away. Overall this was a fantastic apartment and we would happily return here in the future!
Best hotel I’ve stayed in! The hotel was absolutely spotless, staff were welcoming, & couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect . Fantastic trip , will definitely highly recommend & stay again
Quiet and relaxing, nice big tv with Netflix
A bucket in the room from a leek, but understand it couldn't be helped
Location was fantastic, right next to the car park & centre The hotel was absolutely beautiful, rooms were absolutely lovely and spotless. Staff amazing will definitely recommend
It was in a good location easy walking distance to all attractions and town centre . Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given an upgrade as it was so hot and a portable air conditioner was in our room
Very difficult to find especially from the car park. On a Sunday morning shopping centre doesn’t open until late so only access to car park is via ramp
Beds were extremely comfortable and the location was perfect. Facilities within the room were also excellent.
We stayed for one night in the Elegance Room and had a fantastic experience. The property is beautiful, the staff excellent, and the management genuinely generous. The room was spotless, with a few thoughtful extra touches that made everything very easy. The location is ideal — close to everything — and the public parking (paid separately) is conveniently next door. We were celebrating a quick stopover for our 25th Anniversary, and the team went out of their way to dress the room and make a real fuss of us, which we truly appreciated. I had read that the room can be noisy, and that’s correct as it backs onto a pub garden. Chester is a vibrant city, and there’s noise everywhere, especially with England playing that night and the weather being extremely hot, so everyone seemed to be outdoors. It didn’t bother us at all — and to be honest, by the time we returned, I can’t even remember hearing anything. A great stay overall, and thanks again to the team.
Hotel is extremely short staffed - on arrival at reception nobody on desk. Had to ring a phone to get somebody who eventually arrived who was also cleaning and other jobs Hotel is poorly signed, not obvious from outside and not clear were to enter for reception Room was average at best )(Bouquet) but bathroom was a match box and just miles to small Sold as a luxury hotel but it’s just miles off in today’s standards Average hotel at the best
Beautiful
Lovely
The hotel was in a good location we were able to sight see and enjoy the amazing restaurants.
Nothing
Good size rooms, fantastic location in the heart of Chester, walk to Watergate Street, the River Dee. Easy local car parking.
Hotel was amazing and staff exceptional
Nothin
Hotel in a very good location near the shopping centre, and lots of restaurants and bars in the centre of Chester. The staff were really helpful upon checking in and made us feel extremely welcome. The room was lovely with nice kitchen area within the room.
Some issues around noise from workers on Sunday morning which is out of control of the hotel, but it was a little annoying.
This hotel is absolutely stunning. I’d been eying it up for months, and it exceeded my expectations entirely. The decor in the Flamingo suite is beautiful, and it was peaceful. Staff were incredible - Huge shout out to Gweneth who is so lovely and chatty.

Staff were very good. Rooms were clean
Noise from other tenants and noise from pub
Location was quiet and private with easy access to car parks and the shopping centre.
Nice staff. Central location.
on the hottest day of the year the room was like a furnace. The glass fronted fridge was hot like a radiator and the fans in the room just pushed hot air around. in normal weather this would have been an ok room and we might have slept properly.
Stayed for two nights here, the location is very convenient for restaurants, bars, etc. The hotel is very good and the staff - Lauren, Fatima and John - went out of their way to make our stay comfortable during the recent hot westher.
Henkilökunta huolehti milloin saavun perille. Korottivat huoneluokan. Minulla paras ja kaunein huone missä olen ollut. Huone oli todella puhdas. Unohdin oman latausadapterin, sain hotellista lainaan.
Design of the room Shower was good Room was spacious Very clean Lovely service and communication from staff Great location Quiet location
Air con wasn't very effective as it was a fan type though benefit of the doubt as it was a very hot day Lights on the bathroom mirror was not working Not a fridge, just a mini bar fridge
Fabulous location with parking in the shopping centre right next door.
Nothing.
A very comfortable room, beautifully appointed. We really appreciated the air conditioner!
Had to walk up ramp into oncoming traffic to access car park. No one desk upon arrival.
Very spacious and clean apartment and in a great location. Reception staff was lovely and helpful
Nothing to not like
Amazing staff. Room was beautiful. We stayed in the elegance room.
Absolutely no negatives to say
Gorgeous room. Very clean and comfortable bed
Rooms could do with air conditioning as quite noisy if opening the window in hot conditions
The rooms are fantastic and we got a upgrade to the safari room which is really nice
Only little issue was the safari room was really warm throughout the night
Unique, beautiful room. Spacious, great value for money
Luxurious accommodation and pleasant and helpful staff. Very clean and spacious. Great location. We were also upgraded to a room with an air con unit as it was so hot. Loved the sweeties!
Only negative was the air con unit wasn't great - the vents were held in place with tape
Great location, quirky, clean
AI bot says breakfast included when it does not
Great location, super helpful staff and a wonderful room
No downsides, I had a great stay / experience
Immaculately clean, wonderfully comfy beds and really friendly staff. Great decor, lovely boutique hotel.
Nothing, loved all of it.
The bed was a little too soft for us. There wasn't much space in the bathroom for all our things.
Staff are friendly
Our room backed on to a pub garden, it was very loud. This seems to be the case with all the rooms at the rear in the hotel. Not ideal if you sound like to get some sleep before the pub closes at midnight.
Location and look of rooms
Uncomfortable bed and extremely hot even with windows open and fan on
Amazing room, wonderful staff and a lovely weekend.
Everything was perfect 😊👍🏼
Great location
A little bit noisy, but couldn’t expect much less when you stay so close to the city centre
Excellent location and very friendly staff
Room was boiling and it wasn’t a particularly hot day!!
Sehr netter Empfang, liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer, mit Minibar und Kaffee, ruhig, bequemes Bett. Gute Lage.
kein Lift
Friendly staff, clean room… amazing bed, good shower, perfect location
Not good WiFi connectivity ( but that’s not hotels fault)
No breakfast
The bathroom was far too small. We could not pull our curtains as a multi store car park was right opposite and there were no nets on the window, which made the room so dark with no day light. Very expensive for what you got, definitely not 5 star.
The room was very stylish and comfortable
N/a
Rooms were lovely. Staff were friendly. Great location.
Polo room was too hot and AC unit was broken.
Great location.. handy for the wedding venue that we went to… The Old Palace Quirky … Tree House… Tree in lounge area Very clean… lovely big sofa/bed in front of tv. Copper bathtub in one en-suite…
No full length mirror
Location is good, the room was excellent with a copper bath. Bed was very comfortable
The pillows on the bed were not comfortable in my opinion, however that could be a preference thing. The view of a building site was not great, but we can't stand in the way of progress
Location
The style and very clean
Noise from external sources. Car park charges
Wonderful. Great location, amazing room, lovely staff.
Absolutely nothing
Just come back from a wonderful nights stay at the Hotel Chester , from start to finish I could not fault anything this apartment hotel has to offer , first making contact before we even arrived to inform us over parking , to the friendliest receptionist that checked us in and walked us to our room , the room was spacious and clean with high quality furniture and beautiful finishing touches x I can’t thank all the staff that we spoke to enough and can’t wait to come back thank you xx
Spacious apartment and great location.
The room was quite hot and we needed to use the air con machine, which meant keeping the windows open. On the first morning, I was woken up at 5.30am because of noise from the shopping centre loading bay immediately opposite. Not exactly ideal when on holiday! I would probably also expect proper coffee/coffee pods in a 5 star hotel and at least some complimentary water, particularly as the water from the cold tap was lukewarm.
The location was central, close to shops, restaurants etc. Felt safe and secure. The hotel staff were very helpful and readily offered help, advice where needed. Good value for money. The facilities were very good. Everything you needed was in the room. The aroma as you entered was lovely. The whole building smelt so nice. Plenty of tea, coffee and latte sachets. Would welcome another visit.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Super clean and comfortable bed.
Just something to be aware of that there is no lift as it is an old special building.
Stayed here for one night in the Bouquet suite. Pleasant welcome from staff, they explained about the key/code after 10pm etc. Room was nice enough and it was clean, but I wouldn't personally rate as 5*. Needs a lick of paint here and there and the bathroom was tiny. However, my main reason for not scoring higher was not getting a wink of sleep due to the noise levels outside. I appreciate this is out of the hotel's control but coming home exhausted is not what I was hoping for!
Central location. Carparks nearby. Gweneth on Reception, approachable, pleasant with a welcoming smile. The apartment (named Ralph) ie. quality facilities and furnishings, decor.
I found the Glass partitions (either side of the door) as you entered the room a bit odd. Bathroom very compact with no Extractor fan or window, ie. Have a shower and the mirror is steamed up. Air-con Unit in bedroom (with intake pipe stuck out the window). I know this is a matter of opinion.... but for wife and I ....the bed mattress was far too soft, didn't feel supported much. Awoken around 05:40, 07:05 & 08:55 by numerous (what sounded like various) Waste Collectors , rumbling large wheelie bins, cardboard cages, bottle bins being emptied on the street one floor below our windows. With hindsight, as we couldn't sleep with the noisy air-con unit on....we could've pulled the pipe in and closed the bedroom window but then it would've gotten too warm in the room. I'd truly love to stay here again.... because of the staff and the overall facilites/decor.... but sadly/unfortunately... I can't see it happening (any time soon).
Overall this is a good place to put your head down. The bed is comfortable, there's a small kitchenette and the location is great.
It should be listed as a nice boutique hotel rather than 5 star. There's no lift so you have to carry heavy luggage up a couple of flights of steep stairs which isn't ideal.
Convenient location and beds very comfortable
After a small problem at check in (thanks to booking.com), the receptionist was amazing and even upgraded our stay.
Great location, would recommend
Very spacious room. Really clean.
View of car park. Lots of noise from outside
Nice decor, nice room and facilities in the room.
The knightsbridge room was unfortunately located on the side of property that looked out onto a car park entrance. The windows did manage to block out a lot of the noise when we stayed in April but in the summer months and no air con in the room i would guess this would be very noisy.
The room was nicely designed and the access on the ground floor was easy with a toddler. It was good to have cooking facilities (more than on pan would be useful), and the apartment was spacious. Hotel lobby is lovely and smells amazing. The hotel is very central to the city amenities.
It’s right under a car park (despite which there is no access from the car park with out a long walk or some very steep steps) and next to a very noisy bar. We stayed a Thursday and Friday night and on the Friday the music and chat went on very late. The windows don’t have proper double glazing and so you could hear everything. Also couldn’t open the window due to the smell of cooking from the a nearby restaurant. The bed was too soft for our taste (appreciate that is subjective). Also the "refrigerator" is actually a full mini bar. So we had to take everything out as we actually needed a fridge with having a toddler. Not sure the mini bar is actually cold enough to be classed as a fridge either.
We stayed in the Elegance room for an anniversary weekend, and overall our experience was mixed. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and immaculately maintained—if I were reviewing the facilities alone, it would easily deserve 5 stars. However, our stay was let down by the noise. Our room overlooked a very busy and lively pub beer garden, which meant it was extremely loud late into the night. If you’re hoping to get to sleep before 1am, this may not be the best choice. The building is understandably old and full of character, but the windows offer very little sound insulation, so the noise was hard to ignore. I had specifically booked a rear-facing room in the hope of avoiding disturbance, but unfortunately this seemed to have the opposite effect. It would have been helpful to be made aware of this in advance. As the hotel is unmanned, there wasn’t really an option to raise the issue during our stay. The room was also quite warm, even without the heating on, but opening the window wasn’t a viable solution due to the noise outside. That said, I do want to emphasise how lovely the hotel itself is—stylish, clean, and clearly well cared for. Just be aware that it may not be the best option if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet evening.
