Bar was comfortable and the staff were pleasant
Twin room the beds were together, we separated the beds and there was food and dust between the beds so room was dirty.. The gym was so loud I thought it was above the room.. The bathroom in the room had a mirror on the opposite wall to the shower so there was hardly any privacy.. Parking was expensive..
The staff in the bar and grill were very helpful and friendly. They catered for my gluten-free option.
I was not able to use the pool. I think that should be included. The bar price was very expensive 😳
It was a nice hotel with plenty of facilities.
If you have a room on floor 2, forget sleeping after 6am as the music from the gym below comes on making it impossible to get any rest.
Proximity to our destination
Some staff unaware of repurchased meal deal
Clean friendly busy! Needed back in the room as forgot something staff were amazing Food was great
Nothing
Excellent Facilities Great Breakfast
All good
Breakfast was good
No windows, the room felt very claustrophobic, small and dark. Who has glass doors to the bathroom?
Ideal location pre cruise. Comfortable room and good restaurant.
Having to pay for car parking.
Great location for Southampton port.
The glass bathroom door meant there was no privacy in the bathroom.
Everything
Nothing
Great huge techno gym and nice food quick self check in
It’s location in Southampton
The restaurants and bars downstairs
Parking on site and a good breakfast in the morning.
The room was on the small side, but the bed was a good size.
Everything perfect. Gym incredible Food lovely Swimming pool amazing One of my fave hotel stay
The check in thing was a bit annoying. But there was a helpful guy to talk you through.
Location
Glass door to en-suite. Who wants to be on view when using the bathroom!? Breakfast was awful. Generic food, no imagination, nothing tasty and enticing for vegetarians. Mushrooms and eggs were unpalatable. Three massive tv screens and added music competing, made it all worse. We were having breakfast, not attending a gym. Ultra modern and loud atmosphere doesn't appeal to all travellers and 'Village' is a huge misnomer.
Nice rm Location .Some staff lovely .Breakfast chapp very sweet .Nice pool.quiet night
Food over priced awful i had a evening meal invited my family quality not nice at all sweet potato s burnt .Breakfast cold I went down at 08.20.scrambled egg terrible .bacon hard .
Plenty of parking, although there is a charge. Towel provided for the pool. Air conditioning in the room.
Used the swimming pool. The stairs down to the pool area, changing facilities, and pool area itself weren't clean, in my opinion. It was dark and felt a bit grim. Walking barefoot down two flights of wet stairs for access and egress to the pool is not accessible either. I booked the hotel purely for the pool use. I wouldnt stay again on this basis. Whilst the room appeared to be clean, the shower screen is not practical, the colour of the floor bathroom floor tiles didnt reassure that the floor was clean (but maybe influenced by the swimming pool experience). Only one tea bag and no coffee for two guests.
Everything
Charges extra by booking.com cheaper booking direct
Good location to Southampton
Bit busy during the football final and very hands off approach from staff in the bar
Great service Hadn't booked disabled room but upgraded us to one
easy check in breakfast was good ,evening meals were good
no dislikes
The whole place good 👍 Close to ASDA supermarket
All good 👍
The only good thing about this hotel was the access to the gym and pool facilities, but even then it wasn’t worth the price you pay. I’ve told all the staff this but they can’t really do anything other than say sorry.
Toilet sink was blocked so every time you ran water it just filled up with whatever was in the drain from previous guests. Kept finding hairs on towels, around the toilet and all in the shower. Front of house told us the wrong times for breakfast so we missed it one day even though we’d paid for it. Housekeeping didn’t come to our room once in 48 hours despite leaving the sign on the door for the room to get serviced. The price we paid was crazy considering what we stayed in.
Location worked for me
Room felt very small, didn’t really have a window (one in bathroom) so was claustrophobic
Food and hotel was good
Very noisy through night doors slamming and banging above us kept getting woke up though night
A very modern property, room was on the small side but had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
You had to drive everywhere but was on a bus route
No wardrobe, no telephone, no mini fridge and no water in the room. Ryanair version of hotels. We don't need another one as Premier In is already the Ryanair of hotels. You need to be an upper class like British Airways not like Ryanair or Easyjet of the hotel industry. I am very disappointed. Travelog has better than this. Having a gym and swimming pool doesn't make you better than others. First you need to meet the basics. The rooms are way too small. Well below the average. There are no other hotels with rooms in 15 m2 size.
A big car park is a bonus.
The facilities were excellent & the rooms were clean & modern
Nothing, would happily stay again
Good location Access to the pool on a hot day Bus link to Southampton right outside the hotel Food was nice Air conditioning ☀️
Awful experience from start to finish, will never stay here again
Everything
Modern building with a great layout & design. Popular bar & restaurant
The facilities and a modern vibe
Laid out the same as the Bristol one which we often visit. Easy to find your way around
Despite being members at another facility in Bristol we had to pay £25 for parking after being told we would get it free they charged us an additional £5 due to it being over the 3 hours. Gave us only one bath towel and charged us for spa towels despite being members / hotel guests.
Nice, clean and comfortable
Bar Area and Eating Area service was very slow although it was busy.
Gym sauna breakfast
No where to store suitcase
Gym had great equipment and nice spa facilities. Great to have Starbucks on site too.
Twin room felt quite small. Air conditioning unit also leaked overnight and was dripping on the floor.
Room was good
We arrived at 2pm and were rudely told you can’t check in, but the hotel literature in the rooms states you can have early check in and late checkout with club rooms, we weren’t even asked if we were booked into a club room and not given the opportunity to say we booked a club room So we had to wait till 3pm I always book club room and have always had early check in if needed
Everything!
The staff were excellent! Very friendly and helpful
I didnt like the scrambled eggs
Modern, clean, lots of parking Well designed bedrooms
Stunning hotel and very comfotable
Pay to park
Starbucks.
Thumping noise and loud music from the gym. Noise from next room. A bit dirty
I really like and enjoy the breakfast arrangement and certain also the swimming and gym are top
Pool, gym, and restaurant
Warm, genuine welcome after being dropped off by an equally very helpful Taxi driver called Ali. He recommended one of the many Burgers, which was very good with Sweet Potato Fries. The staff, without exception, were very polite and helpful. Easy access to Southampton Airport, plenty of Parking, Electric Car charging points, Use of Pool and Gym, Good facilities in the room, Ironing board and Iron provided, Tea, Coffee, phone charging points...everything was spot on. Big thank you to all the Staff that assisted to make my stay great.
Being let down by Premier booking line. 18minutes, all info given, Paid...No booking was made by the operator. I turn up, no record of my booking, told there were no more rooms and flatly refused to deal with me as I had no booking reference. The Village Hotel on the other hand, benefitted from there lack of customer focused service. I will never use a Premier Inn again. They need to change their name as there was another Premier about the service I didn't receive
I was with a female work colleague bith of us didnt like tge fact the glass was clear to look in the bathroom. I went out the riom in the end. Found that weird.
Ckear bathroom glass just put some film over it
It was clean, quiet, relaxing
The man to the pool kept us there to do more research who we are what room .. to complete some form… it was waste of time. The pool water was cold.
Aircon in all of hotel
No much nearby
Comfy rooms Good facilities Good price for the room
I was charged again for my stay upon check-in, though this was resolved swiftly upon check-out The food prices were a little steep and I ate elsewhere
Location of where we we were travelling. Car park included and leisure pass.
Style of room. I don't like the open bathroom it also had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling.
The staff are very friendly.
My room was clearly two single beds together and not a double bed. Also I was in the second floor and I could hear the gym so if another time I am staying there I am asking to stay in another floor.
Car park facilities
Shower head drops water continuously , room and passage carpets are old needs to clean, limited items for breakfast,
Very modern
Booked a club room but didn’t get breakfast just a club bar in the room and access to the gym. £5 off parking. Not worth it
Options to use the swimming pool in the gym were a positive.
I purposely selected this hotel because I anticipated that the weather would be hot and air-conditioning was advertised as a facility. I stayed during a heatwave and the AC barely worked and didn’t cool the room. It also smelled damp.
Good reception support
The hotel was very clean and tidy, rooms were nice and the air con was working which was a bonus
Not so much the property but the food of an evening in the bar wasn’t particularly good. Gammon wasn’t the best and wasn’t cheap either
The pool and sauna and steam room food was ok but staff was talking
Pubs in the shower bed had blood in it and pubs as it wasn't changed was disgu
Convenient location
We ordered food and after 45 mins hadn’t received any, when we complained we were told we had already had it, it turned out it had been delivered to another table and we were made to feel like liars. Felt very uncomfortable
Very good with great aircon nice bar area
Lovely atmosphere relaxed and staff very friendly and helpful:)
Price this time but maybe my fault not booking earlier
Very clean and friendly and good facilities, would recommend
Nothing really 😉
Reception staff were excellent. All interactions were dealt with swiftly , efficiently and with no fuss.
Spa Facilities
Broken air conditioning in both room I tried. Transparent bathroom door.
Modern and really helpful staff! Pool, gym and Spa really good. Shower was great.
The excessive heat in the room, stifling and very uncomfortable, needed showers multiple times to cool down. Breakfast was average at best. Cold, poor choice and a very cramped dining room.
Clean & good facilities. Easy check-in.
Breakfast poor for what we paid and not great quality. .Continental breakfast almost inexistente.
Fantastic all round George on reception went above and beyond for me and my wife
Too cold
Good location, helpful staff,
Room a bit small but ok for one night stop over
I have no issues with any Villages in general. Clean. Modern. Nice atmosphere.
I was in room 203 so wanted an hour’s rest before dinner after a long day but the rave music from the gym 2 floors below was pounding into the room. This also woke me up at 6am probably for a spin class. There was also a constant banging all night, again maybe a door being open & shut constantly into the gym.
Convenient location
Room small and breakfast poor
Friendly atmosphere
Great location and restaurant. Man on reception was really polite and friendly
Blind in the bathroom kept randomly opening and closing causing me to wake up at 4am with the sunrise
food amazing
nothing
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, clean accommodation
Almost everthing
It's a little out of the way.
Food was decent, reception staff were helpfull
Bar staff were rude, my friend has parkinsons and was refused a drink because they thought he was drunk. We explained and they apologised, they then came over and said do we want another drink as they were closing, we said yes went to the bar and was then told no........ got the impression that the staff just wanted to go home ...!!!!
The staff that greeted us on arrival
The stuffy, windowless small rooms. This room was supposidly a better one. Only window was small in the shower room. The toilet shower etc can be seen from the small square bedrooms through a very clear glass door. You have to sit back on the bed to give anyone on the loo privacy. All rooms are exactly the same design. The carpet in the room was stained.
Location
Tiny room, no outside window other than in the bathroom, very over priced for what you get imo
Restaurant staff were unhelpful in that they did not explain that certain foods at breakfast needed to be individually requested and we were left wondering. The staff involved were not interested except to chat to their friends. At dinner, instead of two starters first, then two main meals as ordered, my starter and main meal came out together, and my partner got nothing. They took them back of course, but we then had to wait ages for anything to turn up. Who would expect a starter and a main course to be served at the same time and the other person to be given nothing? Then who knows how long the food (a bit dry) was left to keep warm? The room was not comfortable as above us was possibly a dance studio and when we wanted to rest quietly after a long drive, all we could hear was thump thump thump. Very upsetting. We were very disappointed all round. For the cost of the room it was terrible.
Location
Very noisy, bass guitar playing early evening, not sure if it was live music or somebody just had the guitar with them
Small room
It was clean and comfortable
Check-in staff friendly but no mention as we checked in at just after midnight with breakfast selected and paid for that breakfast finishes at 0900 Mon-Fri. Morning reception staff no eye contact and quite uninterested in any communication. Breakfast staff similarly lacking in hospitality skills. Arriving at 0902 to find all hot food gone, toaster off and seemingly begrudgingly letting 4 of us in to pick over what was left - which wasn't much - very disappointed. Floor above gym is noisy at all hours due use by shift workers - they acknowledge this when you mention it Would not choose to stay again.
Hotel very smart, staff extremely helpful, good food too. Great setting and easy parking.
The fact that there was no warning in the booking process (unless e missed that), that the bathroom door was glass and completely see through, adjoining what was a fairly small bedroom
A suivre
Location
Room was very dusty, mould in bathroom. Stained pillowcase, bathroom bin not emptied from previous guest.
First time staying in any Village Hotel, but so impressed. Great value, with added incentive of fabulous gym and pool complex. Rooms small but quirky and comfortable.
Nothing, everything was spot on.
Location for the cruise terminal
Our room on the second floor was above something possibly the gym from 05:15 there was constant banging which woke us up very early
Very sporty vibe
Nothing
the staff were excellent
was a bit noisy
Convenient location to the port to enable us to continue our journey onto a cruise.
We stayed on level 2 right above the gym. The gym was open until 8pm and there was constant noise. We then had a group of guests outside the hotel making noise until 11pm. Wouldn’t recommend a room at the front or on level 2.
Room was OK and the hotel is next door to a large Asda which has a McDonald's inside.
Busy hotel, bar and gym. The night's sleep was good and all was quiet until 0700 when thumping music started. Not horrifically loud but enough to remind me why I live in a detached house. Also we paid £104 but I could have booked the same room on the day for £84, oh well never mind.
Comfy bed and great location
I had a room by elevator and it was disturbung my sleep a little bit. Also tv could have Netflix on IT. Also breakfast on weekend could be earlier. I need to be at 8 am somewhere and didnt have a chance to get brekkie
Good atmosphere in bar and restaurant with excellent menue
Why on earth architects think it's a good idea to see through toilet doors is beyond me. Ridiculous
Facilties we're excellent
I'm afraid we don't like the clear bathroom doors.....
Convenient. Welcoming. Restaurant available.
Nothing.
Nice and pleasant Hotel nice bar reasonable price
Being woken up by loud thuddering and loud crsp music from the gym underneath
Didn’t like the property
Carpets are damp and smelled
Friendly staff. The gym. Space to work.
Great location, very well maintained, all staff very helpful
Comfortable bed, polite professional staff and service
Wife's gammon dry, chips appeared cooked for second time, my chips the same
Location
Should have mini fridge
