Value for money. Well thought of space. Practical yet good quality!

Location was great, easy to find and the rooms were well maintained.

Perhaps the fact there’s no one on site if you need something, however we didn’t encounter any issues.

Good location right down by the seafront. But this does come with noise, so you need to weigh up what’s most important

The only thing I can think of, is the location of the property. Close to the beach and the town.

Very disappointed with the security of the property as we had a small group of loud people trying to access our room at 2.20am in the morning. Apparently this was a booking error!

Blok-74 is in a great location. The room and facilities were great with comfortable beds, hot shower, WiFi and TV streaming services available too. No issues with noise unlike our last property that made us choose to move to Blok-74. The rooms are clean/ decorated well with their own personal touch. Highly recommend if staying in Brighton as it's an affordable and great value.

The location was great! The shower was excellent and lovely clean towels and the bed was comfortable. The communication was great and kept informed via email and text. The room was clean. The common parts were also clean.

It was pretty pricey for the size. Some of the furniture was tired and could have been updated. Because is cheapened the look of the room. Because the style was nice. It was a hot room and I was glad it was not in the height of summer when it was 35 degrees. It would have been unbearable. A note to any other travellers if carrying heavy or large amounts of luggage this room can only comfortably hold a small wheelie case or two.

Nothing. I found the hotel to be dirty and not well maintained. I will not be staying at a hotel without a front desk in the future. I found it less comfortable and more expensive than the Travelodge.

Broken window. Lots of noise. Broken shower and fan in a heat wave. The lack of staff on hand was a big issue. Overall unhappy and left after a half hour of being there to stay elsewhere. Wish I could have gotten a refund but understand that I didn't pay extra for that privilige.

The location is excellent as it’s right near the seafront and close walking distance from all the bars and restaurants. My room was exceptionally clean! Facilities were great, everything I needed (iron under the bed!!) and a fab shower!

Only having to walk all the way up the stairs to the top floor for my room (especially after my night out, wearing wedges!) but understandable of course!

Peu de lumière naturelle au rez de chaussée, rue assez bruyante dehors. Potentiel énorme mais mal exploité je pense. La chambre est plus instagrammable que pratique.

Modern decor in Georgian building, very close to sea front with partial sea view, clean, comfortable, good in-room facilities.

In run down street, lots of steep narrow stairs (we were on top floor). No air-con in room which was hot with the evening sun, the fan was noisy. No staff.

Nice little hotel, perfect for a one night stay! Shower was really nice and bed was comfy. There is a fridge to store anything you may need and tea/coffee facilities :) Had a fan too!

The vines on the wall brought a lot of dust/powder onto my stuff underneath it. The room was quite small, a bit cramped and I would've liked a bit more fresh air.

The location was superb! Ease of checking in & the app is a great idea very informative. There are discounts with local restaurants too! The force of the shower was good. Modern decor. The fan was very forceful & lovely to have in this heatwave. Beds were comfy. Iron & board & microwave a useful addition.

There were good facilities but there was a lack of attention to detail. Not a deal breaker but the shower hose was leaking & because it was black there was heavy limescale staining on the taps & a weird blue stain down the wall on the tiles. The iron & board were a great addition but the iron plate wasn’t clean. Nice to have the ability to have a small meal in the room but there was only one knife & fork & 3 spoons which all needed to be washed as the previous guests obviously didn’t bother. The sink was tiny & I struggled to wash the stuff we used effectively. I booked for twin room - your site then said it wasn’t guaranteed so I messaged the place 4 times & didn’t get an acknowledgment & replying to their email to confirm if I wanted a twin or kingsize room just gave me an undeliverable error message. I had to call them to speak to someone.

Great location and convenient with the code entry system. The room was well-presented and clean and tidy. The addition of a mini fridge and microwave were really handy too. Lots of nice little touches.

There were some noisy works taking place across the road, though this was not the fault of the property owners.

Close to the beach, easy check in, window that opened (this was vital in the heat), having a fridge was great, had an iron and board.

Front door to teh hotel didn't lock when we arrive (it was later fixed - thanks), It was very very hot - it was a heat wave but it was very hot in the room, The room is tiny (Room 8) . if there were 2 of you and you were tall or big the rom would be impossible. Great if you are looking for somewhere to crash but not very relaxing. No chairs. Could do with a deep clean ... very dusty ... don't look under teh bed.

The location is really good. We were attending a 3-day conference that was held at the DoubleTree hotel and this was an easy 8-10 minute walk, and was approximately a 5 minute walk to everywhere else we explored. The room's aesthetic was cool, but impractical in places, and the room and bathroom were very clean. The room had a mini-fridge which was great to cool down our drinks with the hot weather.

The bed was very hard, quite small for a double, and was very uncomfortable to sleep on. There was a small tower fan which didn't help at all to take the edge off from the heat. One window was broken (which I have noticed has been mentioned in a few other reviews and has still not been fixed) and couldn't be opened while the other had a notable crack between the glass and the window pane, allowing anyone to look right in, which made me feel extremely unsafe given that the windows were at street level and not overly secure. There was also no deadbolt on the door so that added to not feeling like I was in a secure place. While earbuds were left on the pillows for our use, the level of noise was extremely disruptive. When finally managing to fall asleep at around 5am, both me and my partner would get woken up by the bustle of business workers moving carts and such back and forth every morning at around 8am for about 2 hours straight. Not great when you're trying to rest from a busy social conference each day. There was no hot water in the shower - while I could have messaged the managers about this, I simply didn't have time to with our busy and tight schedule. The sink was absolutely tiny, impractical and slow to drain, making washing hands & brushing teeth an unexpected challenge. A couple things missing for things I would expect in any room like this, a toilet roll holder (they were sitting on the shelf behind the toilet which were difficult to grab when you've sat down) and no hand towel (or any towel) holder. There was only ONE plug socket available (without unplugging devices such as the fan, fridge, microwave etc.) which is extremely useless when there's two of you sharing a double room after a long day of being out and about.

The window frame around the glass was broken. Very old single glazed windows next to a side road, so was noisy in the morning. Window needs to be fixed.

Everything was fine, except that I was allocated room 7, which is on the first floor and overlooking (or overhearing) a busy street. I realised there might be an issue when I saw that the venue had provided ear plugs which were on the duvet when I arrived and it was noisy with passing revellers until about 2am.

Central location

No soundproofing within the summer/party season is really something else..despite earplugs provided.

The location is nice I really like that it was close by the sea. The bedroom was a double bed so there was more than enough space for me and it had everything I needed.

The Fridge, the provision of alternative milk, the fan on and blinds down on a hot day, the clever door systems, the check in with me to ask if all was ok.

Fan broken no windows to open and in the heatwave was just absolutely unbearable. TV did not work properly, kettle leaked and room was pretty dirty with dust everywhere and floor pretty dirty.

Comfortable bed and good shower / facilities.

The small double is very small but it's also cheap. Fine for a one night stay and provided you just want somewhere to lay your head and then head off home. Can't open windows but the fan helped us sleep well.

Lokatie prima. Beetje achterstallig onderhoud allemaal. Communicatie via app ging prima. Personeel niet gezien.

Vind vloerbedekking in kamer niet fijn. In de badkamer ging lamp iedere keer uit. Partner moest dan deur open en dicht doen. Dan ging de lamp weer aan. Niet fijn als je alleen reist. Trap heeft smalle treden. Beetje gevaarlijk. Ik denk prima plek voor jonge mensen, niet als je wat op leeftijd bent.

The location of the accommodation was excellent. It was very convenient for getting to the beach, walking into town, and accessing everything nearby.

The room I stayed in had decorative leaves on the wall, and I felt there was quite a lot of dust, possibly because the room had no windows. The door could only be opened slightly to allow some air circulation. Other than the dust issue, everything else was great.

Fantastic location, lovely housekeeping staff and great facilities. Would come again!

Initally I didn’t like the initial host message after booking regarding the check in and check out if you arrived earlier than 3 it kinda made it seem like I would not be allowed in or something bad to expect and if you checked out later and came across very unfriendly and didn’t make me feel comfortable to go ahead with the booking entirely but I still decided to go ahead and was very happy I did. Maybe the host could just put it in a different tone as the initial message can make feel someone rather uncomfortable or hesitant

A lovely stay at this spotlessly clean accommodation. Very modern, loved the decor, very relaxing.Bed was very comfy, as were the pillows. Good quality toiletries and tea and coffee.Extra touches made all the difference. Good location, will stay here again if there is availability.Thankyou!

Nothing to complain about!

Perfect location near the pier and the beach, close to shops and restaurants. Hotel is basic but very well run. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, great shower. It was great to have a small fridge, microwave and even a coffee machine with Nespresso capsules. For a very reasonable price we had a great stay, thank you very much.

The cleaning of the room was not up to standard it was extremely dusty and left our clothes dirty when we tried to use the ironing board. It also had a broken window. Paint was noticeably chipped off the wall around the light switch.

Loved the location, it was the perfect spot for the beach front and surrounded by some really good pubs and restaurants. Customer service was exceptional. The size of the room was decent, the shower was amazing, both found the beds to be very comfortable and had a good night sleep during our stay. The refreshments provided were a nice touch as well as some basic kitchen essentials. The location of the room was at the back so we didn't hear anything during the night and the blackout blinds were nice touch.

The main lights didn't work, it did get resolved but took time. Tea and coffees not replenished during stay. Rack on the wall fell off during the night, thankfully no one was hurt and it only had an ironing board on. Single glazed windows and the frosting in the bathroom window had a clear board so people could see in from the other side.

Great location, great facilities to be used (fridge, microwave, coffee machine). You really couldn't get closer to the beach either. Bed was very comfy, I slept well.

This is trivial, but there was nothing to use to stir hot drinks, no plate or cutlery to eat food once I used the microwave. However, I would stay again and take my own next time. A few marks on bedding and hairs also but as I say, I would stay and book with Blok 74 again.

it was aesthetic. the room photos was correct and very pretty although many flaws.

very small in my opinion, outside looked a state and the bathroom didn’t smell right and there was a dead spider on the window sill, window was dirty and the view outside wasn’t great. my boyfriend definitely didn’t like the atmosphere or my friends

Blok-74 is now our go to for whenever we stay in Brighton. The location is perfectly placed between the beach and the city centre. Access is simple and easy, details are always sent well in advance. The room and hotel are clean with lots of helpful amenities. Lovely little hotel and always a great price for a weekend getaway!

It is a very good location: a few meters from the see, pier is close, etc.

1) A room is very small, but by carefully watching the pictures, it can be seen in them. Still, for two people, for more than one or two nights, it is not really good. 2) I asked for a receipt in my company's name in advance of my arrival, and in advance, the receipt was issued. Still, I got one in my name. When I asked for a change, I was refused, referring to legal regulations (i.e., that is not possible), although it happened elsewhere (true: I was in the EU). This may cost me hundreds of GBP.

Location and decor was nice

The key lock on my door was broken which made me nervous as no internal lock on the door , there was an annoying green light on in the room all night , assuming it was a fire or safety mechanism but was quite annoying

Although the location was perfect the noise on the Saturday night was a bit disruptive !! Sunday night was obviously quieter and slept very well ! The basin in the bathroom was a bit too small for my liking - hard to clean teeth and wash face etc

Check in was easy and communication was great. The bed was really comfortable and the shower pressure and temperature was perfect. The room is well equipped with a fridge, microwave, plates, cups, bowls and cutlery as well as a hairdryer and iron. The location is seconds from the seafront and close to the high street and theatres. Earplugs are provided. The room was nice and clean.

The walls are pretty thin- it felt like the couple I shared a wall with were in the same room as me! I could hear their conversation, nose blowing, and coughing as clear as day. Earplugs are provided so this doesn't affect sleep, but it's quite annoying to spend any time in the room with disembodied voices right next to your head. It would be good to supply a small bottle of washing up liquid and a dishcloth to wash up with. I think the lack of these may have been the reason the cutlery was a little grubby when I checked in. The crockery and the rest of the room was all clean though.

Die Lage war toll. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat uns schnell und unkompliziert ein Ersatzzimmer gegeben. Die Zimmer sind mit Kühlschrank ausgestattet.

Unser erstes Zimmer hatte keine Fenster und keine funktionierende Lüftung. Der Wasserhahn hat getropft und nachts laut gepfiffen. Die Zimmer waren sehr schmutzig. Unter den Betten lag Müll. In einem der Ersatzzimmer konnte man das Fenster nicht öffnen.
