Pogrešala sem malo topline na obrazih osebja ko se sprehodiš mimo recepcije. Pogrešala sem hotelski vibe večjega vhodnega halla.

Great Old World feel in a modern hotel!

Our room had 3 steps without a handrail. I felt a little unsure heading to the bathroom late at night. They did have automatic lights but a handrail would have been nice.

l'architecture du bâtiment est magnifique, l'accueil avec son hall d'entrée ( boisson et bonbons!) . le rooftop très sympa.

le lit double était 2 lits collés ensemble mais pas tenu… et avec des roulettes au lit. il a été corriger le lendemain.

L'emplacement, la décoration, le confort de la literie. Tout était génial !

Everything about this hotel was excellent; staff was extremely helpful, breakfast was very good, room was spacious and very clean and location near the Rhine was great! Highly recommend this hotel!!

What a lovely hotel, made all the more lovely by the reception staff we encountered at check in and check out. The young lady was very helpful and cheerful with helping us with our bags. Also the young lad who checked us out and gave us a hotel bar of chocolate on check out The spa area was lovely and open till late! The room, also very comfortable and clean. Great hotel .

Superb breakfast. Unfailingly helpful and charming staff. The Bohemia restaurant had some delicious and highly original dishes, plus a very good choice of wines. The room was extremely well designed with plenty of space for storage and for relaxing, and was equipped with good lighting in every area.

De locatie is prachtig en de service die ze bieden is super. Je hoeft het maar te vragen en het wordt geregeld. Verder zit je in het centrum en zit het meeste op loopafstand. Het is een groot pluspunt dat je gratis met het openbaar vervoer kan reizen als je in dit hotel verblijft.

la ubicación es excelente a pesar de las obras que impedían la visión de la plaza, pero eso no es culpa del hotel. La suite junior es muy bonita y divertida.

la falta de aparcamiento en el propio hotel y el acceso con escaleras desde la calle, para las maletas es una pesadilla y nadie te ayuda

We spent two nights at Hotel Märthof and had a really lovely stay. The room was cozy, spacious, and very comfortable. The reception staff were amazing—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Basel, and the hotel is very easy to reach from the main train station by public transport. We also had both lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the food and service were excellent. Overall, a wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend Hotel Märthof and would happily stay here again!

Hartje centrum, prachtig gelegen. Parkeergarage zeer dichtbij. Heerlijke ruime kamer met zeer goed bed. Fantastisch ontbijt buffet. Wij hebben er ‘s avonds ook heerlijk gedineerd. Bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

The electrical sockets were very difficult to deal with especially when trying to use American converters and the electricity may have been spotty. There is also extensive road construction currently surrounding the hotel making access to the hotel somewhat difficult

Breakfast was fantastic lots of choices, staff in the restaurant were great very accommodating service for the items ordered of the menu was very quick. Would highly recommended this hotel again

Otelin konumu çok iyiydi. Çalışanlar çok yardımcıydı ve güler yüzlülerdi. Kahvaltısı mükemmeldi. Oda gayet geniş ve temizdi.

The staff was amazing, they were friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were very good with super service and delicious food and drinks. Great location, short walk to the river, very close to the tram stops, shopping and restaurants.

We were there during a heat wave. Though the hotel listed as having air conditioning, it wasn't really air conditioning. It was explained to me that they run cold water through pipes in the wall. Didn't really work, but a fan was provided and the windows opened.

Es un hotel muy bonito con terraza y buen restaurante, la atención es magnífica especialmente de Sebastien en la recepción, la verdad una gran atención y comunicación entre el equipo

El agua es muy caliente en las duchas, ponerlo a frío completamente no la pone fría de verdad. Si vienes del gimnasio no es cómodo. Tampoco había aire acondicionado en el gimnasio en ese momento. Y por último las obras en la plaza, no es posible dormir hasta tarde, pero avanzan pronto

Perfekte Lage direkt am Marktplatz, man kann durch die Altstadt laufen alles in ein paar Geminuten. Vom Checkin bis zum Schluss einfach perfekt. Freundlicher checkin, ausgiebiges gutes Frühstück, modernes und stillsicher Design-Einrichtung im Zimmer. Sehr schön Zimmer 403, können wir wirklich empfehlen. Am Abend bei schönem Wetter den Schlumi direkt vor dem Hotel - was will man mehr. Wir kommen wieder wenn wir in Basel sind. DANKE 👌

Zimmer 403 wäre grossartig eine weiter Handtuchhalterung an der Wand :-)

Ich hatte speziell bei der Reservation darauf hingewiesen, dass ich ein Zimmer auf die Eisengasse wünsche. Leider wurde meinem Wunsch nicht entsprochen. Ich weiss nicht, warum dies nicht möglich war, zumal ich die Reservation bereits am 28.11.2025 erfolgte (zusätzlich habe ich telefonisch nochmals darum gebeten!). Ich hoffe zuversichtlich, dass mein Wunsch, ein Zimmer auf die Eisengasse zu erhalten, bei meinem nächsten Besuch (14.-15.2.2027) erfüllt wird; zumal ich die Zimmer bereits gestern (19.7.2026 bezahlt habe. Keine Parkmöglichkeit!

Meget centralt beliggende hotel i Basel. Vi fik et dejligt værelse, stort, rent og nydeligt indrettet. Vær obs på at nogle værelser har 2 trin ned/op. Intet problem for os. Værelser lå roligt og med aircondition. Der er minibar som fyldes op dagligt med vand, juice , cola, chips og chokolade uden beregning. Dejlig morgenmad, og vi spiste også 1 gang i restauranten om aftenen. Også dejlig mad og god betjening. Vi kommer helt klart igen.

Het hotel was een topervaring! Het is zeer goed gelegen om alles te voet te verkennen. Het personeel is vriendelijk, het eten is lekker en de kamers zijn schoon en de bedden slapen prima. Op het moment van ons verblijf waren er werken aan de gang en het hotel deed alles om het ongemak op te lossen. Dank je!

Extremely professional, helpful, and friendly service everywhere. Some of the best I ever experienced. Outstanding interior design everywhere. Very comfortable beds with excellent pillows and linen. High end finishes in the room, including the bathroom. Great air conditioning (a life saver with the high temperatures in July). Excellent location. Lot's of buses and trams right outside. 2 minute walk to the Rhine.

The breakfast is a bit underwhelming. It feels like a 3 star hotel breakfast at best. The selection is rather limited and the only hot items are eggs and oatmeal. It's alright, I guess. But definitely doesn't match the otherwise absolutely stellar hotel.

It’s not their fault but the city jackhammers were pretty bad.

Personnel très accueillant. Situation géographique parfaite pour visiter la ville à pied. Petit déjeuner irréprochable. Chambre très confortable avec vue sur la place de l’hôtel de ville.

Actuellement la ville de Bâle effectue des gros travaux devant l’hôtel qui perturbent la tranquillité de ce quartier. Ce n'est que temporaire.

The location in the city centre is excellent with easy access to places of interests, shops, bars and restaurants. Highly recommended for those looking for a comfortable stay in the heart of the city. The room was of a very generous size and very well designed and furnished. The bed was especially comfortable. The television was large with a very wide selection of channels. The aircon coped very well with the exceptional weather conditions.

Unfortunately there were road works going on right outside which made entering and exiting a little difficult but it wasn't undult noisy. Obviously this was completely beyond the hotel's control and they did as much as they could to minimise impact. As we were on the fourth floor, the window was rather small and so the room was a little dark, but this didn't really bother us.
