HYPERION Hotel Salzburg

I genuinely hope the hotel management or owner reads this review. I did not choose The Cloud One Salzburg as a budget option. I deliberately paid a higher price expecting a premium stay, good facilities, and, most importantly, a high standard of hospitality and service, especially as we were visiting during our honeymoon. Unfortunately, while the property itself is nice, the service was extremely disappointing. Our first impression started badly at check-in. We were welcomed by a staff member named David, who appeared visibly annoyed and uncomfortable from the moment we arrived. There was no warm welcome or even a simple smile, and whenever I asked a question, the answers were unclear and unhelpful. For a hotel in this price category, basic hospitality should at least include a friendly and welcoming attitude. Housekeeping was even more disappointing. On the first day, we left the room early in the morning and activated the room-cleaning button, yet nobody cleaned the room. When I called reception, I was simply told that I had to specifically inform the front desk if I wanted the room cleaned. This makes me wonder: what is the purpose of having a housekeeping/cleaning button in the room? The following day, after I personally confirmed that the room needed cleaning, housekeeping only made the bed. The rubbish was left behind and the room was not properly cleaned at all. Even with our luggage, there was no effort to assist us. The hotel itself has good facilities and potential, but the level of service does not match the price being charged. For what we paid, and considering that we chose this hotel for part of our honeymoon, the experience was genuinely disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because improving basic hospitality and housekeeping standards would make a significant difference.

위치가 쉘브르 궁전앞이라 늦은 공연보고 걸어서 2~3분만에 돌아왔어요. 깨끗하고 침구도 참 좋았습니다. 호텔 전체가 깨끗하고 룸메이드분 청도도 만족했습니다.

카운터 직원분들이 무뚝뚝합니다. 객실이 좀 비싸요.

Wir haben für 5 Sterne bezahlt und magere 4 Sterne erhalten. Das Frühstücksbuffet (für dass wir auch noch extra zusätzlich bezahlt haben) war überhaupt nicht vielseitig - nicht mal 4 Sterne würdig. Die Rechaud's waren um 09.30 leer und wurden nicht aufgefüllt. Das Zimmer wurde nicht mal gereinigt. Preis-Leistung stimmte überhaupt nicht. Schade um das Geld!!!! Wir bereuen es sehr, soviel für die 2 Nächte bezahlt zu haben!!

ארוחת הבוקר הייתה דלה ביותר ממש לא מתאים למלון 5 כוכבים ובטח לא באוסטריה , קיבלנו את החדר בשעה 15:00 אבל המפתח לא עבד בקומה עד שעה 19:00 , אף אחד לא התנצל או ניסה להסביר פשוט התעלמות מוחלטת וכל פעם שהיינו צרכים להיכנס לחדר נאלצנו להביא פקיד קבלה שיפתח .ארוחת הבוקר הייתה דלה ביותר ממש לא מתאים למלון 5 כוכבים ובטח לא באוסטריה

The Hyperion is a really lovely hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable, and we were welcomed with some delicious chocolates. The location was also great. It’s about a 15 to 20 minute walk to Salzburg’s main shopping street, with an easy and pleasant walk through the Mirabell Gardens and across the river.

While the hotel itself was nice, we did not find the staff to be particularly friendly or welcoming. On a couple of occasions, including when we needed assistance with parking our car and arranging laundry, we felt as though our requests were an inconvenience rather than something the staff were happy to assist with. This was disappointing, particularly given the otherwise high standard of the hotel.

Siamo stati solo una sera ed il ristorante era chiuso ai clienti per eventi privati (quando si viene da un viaggio lungo e si è stanchi non è quello che si vuole) La mattina dopo la colozione apriva alle 7 e noi siamo arrivati alle 7.15 perché dovevamo correre in aeroporto. Tutte e due le macchine del caffè erano rotte e quando abbiamo chiesto delle uova ci hanno detto che dovevamo ancora aspettare… alle 8.00 siamo dovuti andare via quindi niente uova e solo un caffè per me. Se la colazione apre alle 7 deve essere tutto pronto per i clienti e non iniziare a preparare alle 7

Leider war unser Aufenthalt im Hyperion Hotel Salzburg sehr enttäuschend. Das Hotel war nicht sauber und die Zimmer wurden schlecht gereinigt. Zudem war das Personal sehr unfreundlich. Unser Zimmer war überteuert und wirkte ungemütlich. Besonders ärgerlich war, dass ein versprochener später Check-out am nächsten Tag plötzlich verweigert wurde und auch beim Verlängern der Schlüsselkarten gab es keine Entschuldigung für die Umstände. Wir können das Hotel absolut nicht empfehlen.

Die Rezeption war unterbesetzt und teilweise fachlich / sprachlich / inhaltlich überfordert. Im Ergebnis entstanden Unklarheiten zur Zahlung der Übernachtungen bei der Abreise (doppelte Belastung der Kreditkarte trotz Zahlungsbestätigung durch booking.com. Ein höherrangiger Vorgesetzter war trotz mehrfacher Bitte gegenüber dem Personal nicht aufzutreiben. Da wir zu den Salzburgen Festspielen aufbrechen mußten, brauchte es eine Rückkehr ins Hotel nach der Vorstellung zur Klärung. Unser Gepäck konnte vom Concierge dabei nicht zur Aufbewahrung angenommen werden, weil es (mit langer Warteschlange) chaotisch war.

Beste Lage, sehr freundliches zuvorkommendes Personal. Zimmer sauber und ordentlich. Wir waren schon mehrmals da und kommen gerne immer wieder.

Zentrumsnahe Lage zwischen Bahnhof und Mirabellgarten, die Altstadt ist gut zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und wird sehr appetitlich präsentiert.

Es gab sehr wenig Stauraum im Doppelzimmer, nur eine einzige Lade oberhalb der Minibar, die sehr warm wurde. Was einen Hotelausstatter dazu veranlasst, die Wände im WC mit Textil zu bespannen - man weiß es nicht. Aufgrund der vielen Flecken ist es jedenfalls nicht so gepflegt, wie man sich das erwarten würde. Obwohl ich das "Bitte nicht stören" Logo aktiviert hatte, stand plötzlich jemand vom Housekeeping ohne anzuklopfen im Zimmer und meinte, ich müsse auschecken. Nachdem der Irrtum aufgeklärt war, ist die Dame wieder gegangen und hat sich entschuldigt. Dennoch fand ich es als Alleinreisende unangenehm, dass jemand einfach so ins Zimmer geplatzt ist. Die Öffnungszeiten des hauseigenen Gourmet Restaurants werden zur Festspielzeit nicht angepasst, so dass man leider keine Möglichkeit hat, es auszuprobieren, obwohl die Speisekarte sehr interessant klingt. Schade! Insgesamt ist in diesem Haus noch Luft nach oben.

Wij boekten een Superior hotelkamer voor ons gezin, inclusief onze kleine baby voor wie we zelf een reisbedje meenamen. Bij het inchecken kregen we echter tot onze verrassing te horen dat deze kamer zogenaamd niet geschikt zou zijn voor twee volwassenen en een baby, waardoor we verplicht moesten upgraden naar een duurdere Deluxe kamer. Toen we de Superior kamer later van binnen zagen, bleek er wat ons betreft meer dan genoeg ruimte te zijn geweest om het bedje naast ons te plaatsen. De verplichte upgrade naar de Deluxe kamer viel ons ontzettend tegen. We kregen een aangepaste kamer voor mindervaliden toegewezen, wat voor ons niet als luxe voelde, maar juist als een downgrade van wat we verwacht hadden. Er werd op geen enkele manier rekening gehouden met het reizen met een baby. Zo ontbrak een regendouche, die we wel hadden gehad bij een Superior kamer, en schommelde de temperatuur van het douchewater continu tussen warm en koud. Daarnaast zorgde de automatische bewegingsverlichting er steeds voor dat de kamer verlicht werd als we 's nachts rondliepen, waardoor onze baby telkens wakker werd.

I found the reception staff unaccommodating and have a very bad attitude. Racist towards Arabs. The restaurant staff were nice and friendly. The ac was good. The room cleanliness was not up to par.

Location was good - just off the tourist centre but still within walking distance to all the attractions, old town, concert halls. Also walkable to train station. Beautiful hotel and front desk was most helpful and friendly.

Housekeeping was inconsistent - at times very slow and almost seemed reluctant to serve. Otherwise, overall very good hotel.

La taille de notre chambre, avec une salle de bain qui n'était pas vraiment séparée, était un point décevant. L'hôtel indiquait que le minibar était réapprovisionné quotidiennement, mais cela n'a malheureusement pas été le cas pour nous. En revanche, le personnel a réagi rapidement lorsque je leur ai signalé le problème et demandé qu'on nous apporte de l'eau. Nous avons également rencontré des difficultés pour obtenir un fer à repasser. Le personnel du restaurant était en revanche extrêmement sympathique et attentionné. Cependant, pour un établissement cinq étoiles, la qualité gustative ainsi que le choix proposés au petit-déjeuner nous ont semblé assez limités. Rien ne permettait réellement de différencier cette offre de celle d'hôtels de catégorie inférieure. Nous nous attendions à un petit-déjeuner plus personnalisé et plus raffiné, comme c'est généralement le cas dans les hôtels cinq étoiles. Sur ce point, l'expérience n'était malheureusement pas au niveau des attentes que l'on peut avoir pour cette catégorie d'établissement.

El hotel está en una buena zona y las instalaciones son buenas pero su personal y sus atenciones no están a la altura de un 5 estrellas.

Llegamos y el recepcionista no nos informó de que teníamos transporte gratuito ya que pagamos una tasa. Este recepcionista nos atendió todos los dias con muy mala cara. Nadie vino a coger nuestras maletas a la llegada, y luego nos faltó una al dejarlas en consigna. El primer dia a las 9 30 tenemos colgada una nota de que han pasado para hacer la habitación y que si no avisamos no vendrán. A las 16 30 la habitación estaba sin hacer a diario. No hubo ningún gesto ni ninguna atención especial que nos hiciera sentirnos en un 5 estrellas. En fin, el personal del hotel no está a la altura de sus instalaciones. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut ausgestattet, wir hatten ein freundliches Empfang und das Hotel ist sehr tierfreundlich, was für uns sehr wichtig ist. Das Minibar war in dem Preis inkludiert und unseren Hund hat ein Korb, Näpfe und Leckerlis bekommen, außerdem dürfte ins Restaurant mitgehen. Das Bett war super bequem, das Zimmer ist super sauber und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Man kann zu Fuß alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen.

Die Verbindungstüre in unseren Zimmer war ein Nachteil. Unseren Nachbar hat sehr oft und lange im Zimmer musiziert und nur nach lange Klopfen an der Türe und eine Beschwerde bei der Rezeption hat es aufgehört, begann aber nach eine halbe Stunde wieder zu spielen und hat uns aus dem Schlaf aufgeweckt. Durch die Verbindungstüre war alles noch lauter als sonst. Das Frühstück ist sehr stark auf Touristen aus dem mittleren Osten abgestimmt...es war aber grundsätzlich OK. Deswegen 9 Punkte aus 10.

The location is excellent, the breakfast is absolutely outstanding with an incredible variety of food, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming.

Unfortunately, the overall experience did not feel like a five-star hotel. The first issue was the bed. Through the fitted sheet, I could clearly feel that the mattress underneath was covered with pilling or rough fabric. This is not something I would ever expect in a five-star property. On one of the following days, housekeeping placed a waterproof rubber mattress protector under the sheet, apparently to hide the problem. Unfortunately, sleeping on top of a rubber protector was even more uncomfortable, as it trapped heat and made sleeping unpleasant. The TV wasn't working because the cables had been broken. It was during the football championship, and unfortunately it was not posibe to fix. Housekeeping also needs improvement. Small things on the floor, such as botle of shampoo on the floor or a cotton swab, were left untouched after cleaning. Coffee capsules and tea were not consistently replenished, so I had to call reception several times. I also requested an ironing board on my first day, but it wasn't delivered until after I had already left the room. Overall, the location, breakfast, and friendly staff deserve five stars, but the room quality, housekeeping, and management standards do not. Unfortunately, this was not the level of service I expected from a five-star hotel.

Die Lage in der Neustadt mit der Nähe zum Bahnhof ist super. Die Unterkunft ist modern, wenngleich für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse eigentlich ein Wellnessbereich dazu gehören müsste. Unser Zimmer zum Innenhof war groß, ruhig und bot genügend Staufläche. Das Bad befand sich hinter einer Wand ggü. dem Bett. Die Minibar wurde immer wieder aufgefüllt; hat man nicht überall. Das Frühstücksbüffet war eines der Besseren. Die Bushaltestelle ist vis-a-vis.

Wie gesagt ein Wellnessbereich fehlt. Eine Rooftopbar wäre an der Stelle ein Knaller.

What a surprise. Never stayed at a HYPERION before but now I will remember. Great food, excellent breakfast, super staff and lovely modern rooms. The aircon was not working so we asked reception and they upgraded us to a deluxe larger room with cold aircon. Top service!!

הכל אהבנו, חדר מרווח מואר ונקי. צוות נעים ועושה הכל בחיוך ומאור פנים. מסביב יש הרבה בתי קפה, מסעדות ופאבים. לעיר העתיקה ולגני מיראבל רק צריך לחצות את הכביש. הקונסרייז בשם dieter robl הוא איש נעים הליכות בדק לנו כל מקום שרצינו ללכת, עדכן אותנו עד לפרטים הקטנים ודאג לשאול איך היה לאחר מכן.

Personal hatte es einfach nicht im Griff, hat alles Problematische ständig gerechtfertigt. Leider hatten wir zuerst ein Zimmer, in dem das Wasser weder in Waschbecken noch Dusche ablief - musste spät abends umziehen. Dann ein Zimmer unterhalb eines kleinen US amerikanischen Bubens, der wegen Jetlag nicht schlafen konnte und bis 3 Uhr morgens rumturnte. An 4 Tagen wurde 3 mal das Zimmer trotz Anzeige nicht gereinigt. Alles in allem wirklich kein schöner Aufenthalt.
