Kamer is erg klein. Minibar/koelkastje niet koud. Geen koffie op de kamer. Wel thee. Parkeren (voor een beetje leuke prijs) kon niet in de buurt.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Proche de tout, c’est dans Le centre et très facile d’accès. Personnel accueillant et compréhensif.
La propreté était a revoir. Les essuies n’avaient pas l’air d’être propre pareil pour les draps et énormément de cheveux partout alors que la chambre était lavée. Niveau bruit pas top car c’est mal isolé donc on entend beaucoup les voisins et le passage. Il y avait ce sentiment de venir être calme par peur de déranger les autres ou d’être entendu.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Die Unterkunft war sehr in der Stadtmitte, wodurch man schnell in die Stadt konnte. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung. Nichts besonderes, aber es hat auch gereicht.
Die Zimmer haben mir nicht gefallen. Sie waren definitiv zu klein für 2 Leute und Koffer, wodurch man so gut wie gar keinen Platz hatte. Die Koffer konnte man nirgends hinstellen und der Schrank war auch so klein, dass man darin fast nichts unterbringen konnte. Allgemein gab es sehr wenig Möglichkeiten irgendwie seine Sachen ordentlich hinzulegen. Es haben definitiv Aufhängemöglichkeiten für Jacken oder anderes gefehlt. Das Badezimmer war auch viel zu klein. Die Toilette war direkt vor die Wand gebaut, wodurch man nicht ordentlich drauf sitzen konnte, sondern seine Beine zur Seite machen musste. Dadurch saß man dann schräg auf der Toilette. Allgemein ein sehr ungemütliches Zimmer. Das Hotel war außerdem sehr hellhörig. Das Personal war sehr laut, wodurch man ab 7/8 Uhr kaum noch schlafen konnte. Die Rezeption war sehr unfreundlich. Es wurde nicht einmal hallo gesagt.

Er was een elektriciteitspanne in het hotel. Na een halve dag was er wel terug elektriciteit, maar geen airco. Het was heel warm op de kamer. De airco werd ook niet meer gerepareerd. Veel lawaai 's nachts in het hotel zelf, maar ook vanop het pleintje onder het kamerraam waar een bar met terras was. We kregen een heel kleine kamer naast de receptie. Alles was aanwezig, maar erg gepast en afgemeten. Je kon juist achter het bed doorlopen en recht op het toilet zitten was in de badkamer onmogelijk. Het personeel leek geïrriteerd. Er kwam geen uitleg, geen compensatie en geen excuus voor en over het ongemak bij de check-out. Heel erg jammer.

Not clean! The bathroom smelled of sewage, the headboard and sheets were stained and I found a bug inside my sheets. There was also what looked like mouse droppings next to the toilet. When I woke up is when I noticed the droppings. I don’t blame the staff, I am sure they were unaware and I didn’t notice the droppings and bug until later.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Nous avons aimé la situation en plein centre de Funchal, à proximité des restaurants, du port. La chambre est très propre et agréable. Le personnel très prévenant.
Nous avions réservé à l'avance notre chambre avec le petit déjeuner inclus, mais le service du petit déjeuner ne commençant pas avant 8h00, nous n'avons pas pu l'utiliser, nous devions quitter l'hôtel pour 7h30 avec un taxi pour rejoindre l'aéroport. Le personnel nous a gentiment proposé de l'avancer à 7h30 ,mais ce n'était toujours pas dans les temps possibles. Une ouverture du petit déjeuner à 7h00 serait bien pour les personnes qui veulent profiter des balades à faire sur l'île à la journée où comme nous qui avions un avion à prendre.

No window, only towards the breakfast hall which was very very noisy in the morning. Despite the fact that from the start of my booking, I had asked twice for a quiet room, we got the noisiest room. I understand 'availability' but we got the worst room. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Staff not very welcoming. This hotel potentially could do so much better...

Reviewed May 26, 2026Sehr gute Lage in der Altstadt, nahe am Hafen. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig gut erreichbar. Schönes Zimmer mit ausreichender Größe. Sehr gutes und reichlich ausgestattetes Frühstücksbuffet mit gutem Kaffee! Wegen früher Abreise durften wir sogar vor der regulären Frühstückszeit Kaffee bekommen und es wurde uns ein kleines "Frühstückspaket" mitgegeben. Danke dafür. Sehr freundliches Personal!

Reviewed May 11, 2026Sono stata a Madeira a Marzo. Ho passato qui solo una notte prima della partenza. Centralissimo. Saremmo usciti prima dell’orario di colazione e lo staff ci ha preparato la colazione take away.
Camera piccola con finestra su cavedio, personalmente non lo consiglierei per soggiorni lunghi.

Expensive in comparison to other similar properties. Staff was intermittently helpful. We were excited about breakfast …. It was served on the later side. Positive, they made a to go breakfast, negative it was very basic and not from the breakfast spread everyone says is great.

Reviewed May 7, 2026Die Klimaanlage war kaputt, trotz mehrfacher Reklamation wurde dies nicht behoben; dies war zusätzlich schlimm, da wir ein Zimmer MIT Fenster gebucht und bezahlt haben aber eines ohne bekamen und daher auch nicht lüften konnten. Es wirkte nicht so, als ob das Personal sich dafür interessierte, ein anderes Zimmer wurde auch nicht angeboten.

Lärm fast jeden Tag bis gegen Mitternacht durch Gastronomie in unmittelbarer Nähe, für erholsamen Urlaub eigentlich nur mit Ohrstöpseln machbar, nicht alle Zimmer haben Doppelfenster, Umzug in ein etwas ruhigeres Zimmer während des Aufenthalts

Reviewed May 1, 2026la posizione è perfetta, su una deliziosa piazzetta in centro. Gli spazi comuni sono molto curati, la colazione è ottima, il personale è stato molto gentile, specialmente l'amabile signore che è in reception di notte. La stanza era molto pulita.
la nostra stanza era piuttosto trascurata. Era molto pulita, non parlo di puliizia, ma di manutenzione generale. La doccia era tutta arrugginita e incrostata dal tempo, con uno dei due attaccapanni rotto. In bagno mancava l'aspirazione ed era un bagno cieco (senza finestra) quindi l'aspirazione sarebbe stata gradita. Il bagno era piccolo e il water talmente vicino al muro di fronte che era quasi impossibile starci seduti normalmente, era necessario stare seduti di fianco. La tv in camera era molto vecchia, senza possibilità di connettere nulla, quindi per degli stranieri che non sanno il portoghese, praticamente inutilizzabile, neanche collegando i propri dispositivi. La nostra camera era posizionata sul terrazzino dove si fa colazione, questo ha comportato molto rumore al mattino presto (prima delle 6.00) quando i dipendenti preparavano per la colazione, quindi non abbiamo dormito bene perchè c'era molto rumore.

Didnot like the bed...was like sleeping on concrete...very hard and therefore didnt sleep well. Could have been more pillows too.

Reviewed Apr 14, 2026When I booked the accommodation and read the reviews, one of the complaints was the noise. It was really a bit noisy Friday night as there is a pub on the street, under the room window. Other nights the pub closed at 22.00 and it was very quiet (in March). The location is super! No hills to climb and close to the Old town and bus station. Bed was comfy.

Reviewed Apr 11, 2026The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Funchal, right across from the esplanade. It’s an excellent spot. The rooms are spotless, and the breakfast is delicious. The staff was incredibly helpful and even recommended a fantastic little restaurant next door that serves the best Boco do Caco.

Mein Zimmer hatte kein Fenster, was nicht in der Beschreibung stand, kaum Ablagefläche Personal extrem unfreundlich und desinteressiert , kein Lift, selbst zur Rezeption muss man seine Koffer alleine hochschleppen, extra bestelltes Glutenfreiesperfekte Brot-Fehlanzeige——sehr schade, das sollte deutlich besser gehen

Schwere Koffer müssen über eine steile Treppe hochgebuckelt werden. Kein Fahrstuhl und das Personal war nicht wirklich eine Hilfe

Nous avons réservé en dernière minute suite à une annulation de vol, et ils ont été formidables, en cherchant pour nous des informations sur l'état de la situation. La chambre était très agréable. Un peu de bruit la nuit car elle l'hôtel est en plein centre ville, mais très agréable. Très bon petit déjeuner, varié.

Pokój był bardzo mały, niemal nie dało się przejść między łóżkiem a drzwiami. A z racji tego, że był blisko portierni to było słychać każdą rozmowę na zewnątrz - szczególnie bardzo głośne rozmowy jednej z recepcjonistek z koleżanką :/

Apparently you get what you pay for. We got a room no bigger than our guest room. The bathroom was an after thought. Only about 9 inches between the wall and the toilet! Had to sit sideways to fit! Not the friendliest front desk employees.
