Affordable price and excellent location

L'hôtel est très bien situé en plein centre historique. Le petit déjeuner est très varié et copieux. La gentillesse de l'hôtesse d'accueil est top. S'il n'y a pas de places sur le parking de l'hôtel, il y a des places devant l'hôtel pour la nuit car c'est gratuit de 20h à 8h. Bon à savoir.

Fantastická poloha, víc ve středu dění už být snad ani nejde. Hotel je uz starší, ale velice čistý. Slečna recepční byla velice ochotná a milá. Zároveň připravovala i sňídaně. Jídlo bylo dobré.

Při příchodu jsem si hned nevšimla mosazného zvonku na rámu dveří a nemohla se dostat dovnitř. Naštěstí po chvilce šli jiní hosté, kteří již fintu znali. Matrace mají nějaký igelitový chranič, který v noci šustí.

Está en el mismo centro de la ciudad. Es muy cómodo para ir a todas partes andando, tienes todo cerca. La cama era cómoda y la habitación tenía lo básico, aunque echamos en falta tener una neverita.

El parking del hotel no está en el mismo hotel, sino a 7 minutos a pie. Puede ser un poco rollo para el tema de dejar/recoger las maletas si llevas mucho equipaje. Me pareció un precio muy alto para una sola noche

Great location

My husband and I checked in at midnight after our flight. The man on reception said he didn’t have a record of our reservation. After about 20 mins he found our reservation. Before we travelled the hotel confirmed we had booked a parking space in the private parking spot. When we asked the man be said there was no parking and we could use the street parking in front of the hotel. After a lot of pushing he eventually gave us a ticket for the private parking. The private parking is a 20 min walk from the hotel which was not made clear in advance. My husband speaks Portuguese so the issues were not as a result of a language barrier.

La décoration ancienne, la tapisserie qui se décolle et tachée, il manque de prises électriques, mais le bémol majeur c'était l'emplacement du parking pas très facile à trouver et qui se trouve à 10min à pied de l'hôtel (pas pratique avec des bagages)... Globalement pour un hôtel 3 étoiles il faudrait revoir quelques points...

Très bon emplacement dans le quartier touristique. Petit déjeuner servi avant l'heure officielle pour pouvoir partir tôt.

La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas. Pas de double vitrage.

La porte d'entrée est limite cachée entre 2 magasins et surtout, j'ai attendu environ 20 mn à la porte car je ne savais pas qu'il fallait appuyer sur un petit bouton pour pouvoir ouvrir la porte et, qu'il fallait monter au 1er étage pour accéder à l'accueil. Décor un peu vieillot qui mériterait d'être un peu plus équipée par exemple avec une bouilloire, ....

Excelente opção para uma estadia confortável e bem localizada. O hotel tem uma localização privilegiada, permitindo um acesso fácil aos principais pontos de interesse da zona. Excelente vista sobre a marina (do terraço). Os proprietários são extremamente atenciosos, simpáticos e sempre disponíveis para ajudar, tornando a estadia ainda mais acolhedora. O pequeno-almoço é muito bom, variado e bem preparado. O quarto era espaçoso, confortável e com boas condições para descansar.

La posizione per girare la città è ottima. Molti servizi e locali vicini. Camera abbastanza ampia con una zona scrivania molto ampia. Bene il bagno. Buona insonorazione così come gli oscuranti delle finestre. Buona la colazione anche se lo spazio è un po' piccolo. Ottimo il personale disponibile ad aiutarci.

Avevamo chiesto una camera con due letti singoli ed un matrimoniale, ma abbiamo trovato solo una culla. Per una notte ci siamo arrangiati, niente di sconvolgente. Il parcheggio privato è un po' distante (10 min. a piedi) e non è facile trovare parcheggio vicino alla struttura, ma vista la posizione, è un malus che vale la pena sopportare.

The check in was a breeze! The very nice sweet lady Monica at the reception desk was the best! We liked our super clean room and the hotel in general! It seems recently renovated with the nice wooden floors in the room and the bright, well-kept carpet elsewhere. The spiral staircase and the wooden details along with the unique decor added to the ambiance of the place. The location is central. And could not be better! Spend some time on the balcony/terrace on the 5th floor which is overlooking the Cathedral and has a sea view. The adjacent library is cute and has many books. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, prepared and served with love and care! It is happening in a small but very inviting breakfast restaurant/cafeteria. It included warm eggs/bacon/sausage along with fruits/cheese/cereal/teas/coffee machine/juices/yogurts. Locked front door added to the sense of security. The 24 hour reception, the amenities in the room and the best ever bath towels added to the impression of you being truly taken care of! This was our 3rd time staying here. We will do it again. And highly recommend to other travellers!

La atencion y amabilidad de Mónica, personal de recepción cuando llegamos, aun siendo de noche. La ubicacion, sin ruidos estando en pleno centro enfrente de la catedral. El tamaño de la habitación y la terraza.

La actitud de la señora de recepción de la mañana y su absoluta falta de interés en comunicarse en otro idioma que no fuera portugués o con portugueses. La sala para el desayuno no es muy grande.

Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt, wenn man mitten im Geschehen von Funchal sein möchte.

Das Hotelzimmer war dreckig. Viele Haare auf dem Boden, Staub in der Ecke und Flecken auf der Bettdecke. Das Frühstück ist nicht empfehlenswert. Der Parkplatz ist praktisch, wenn man mit dem Auto unterwegs ist. Hierzu stehen aber falsche Infos in der Hotelbeschreibung. Anstatt 5 Minuten Fußweg sind es locker 10 Minuten - erst recht, wenn man schwere Koffer dabei hat. Die Einfahrt auf den Parkplatz ist sehr uneben. Man muss sehr aufpassen, dass man mit dem Auto nicht aufsetzt.

Location is very fine for exploring downtown Funchal. Small hotel, but a good choice for a few days in downtown Funchal.

More a B&B than a hotel (no restaurant, bar, not any service during the day). No parking anywhere nearby (= don’t bring a rental car😎)

Barulho, vindo da Rua. Incomodo toda a noite, não sei, ser por ser no 5º andar fosse o Ar Condicionado no Terraço, ou o barulho do ar Condicionada dos quartos ao lado ... A insonorização é um aspecto a ter em conta.

Excelente trato como se espera de estos hoteles. Céntrica ubicación para visitar la ciudad a pié. La decoración antigua con madera es bonita aunque le falta restauración en algunos muebles para que luzca.

Location was wonderful. Room 502 was great with a balcony and air worked wonderful to block the noise. Highly recommend this room.

Excellent location right on doorstep of Cathedral. I was on the 5th/top floor which I think has only 2 or max 3 rooms,this is where the sun terrace is so I felt like I had it all to myself mostly! Huge room. I requested a room with a fridge & they obliged me. Handy to store your water on a hot day. Air con really good. Balcony decent size. Continental breakfast was decent.

The bed was very hard so I had back ache throughout my stay, but someone else might live a firm mattress so that was just down to preference. Slight drain smell nearer to balcony door side but not desperate. Nothing else bad to say, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Terrasse mit Aussicht auf den Vorplatz der Kathedrale und die vielen Menschen in den sich kreuzenden Geschäftsstrassen, das Einkaufen "gleich um die Ecke", die grosse Auswahl an Restaurants, der nahe kleine Gemeindepark, die nahe Uferpromenade. Das Schönste: die Schatten spendenden uralten, riesigen Alleebäume, viele davon in voller Mai-Blüte.

1. Fürchterliche Zersiedelung der Landschaft rund um Funchal. Abenteuerliche Bauten kleben an Felsen und reiten auf Kämmen. 2. Funchal hat keinen zentralen "Busbahnhof". Eine Grossveranstaltung mit Strassensperrungen über Pfingsten brachte Verschiebungen der Abfahrtsorte und -Routen, was gerade mal den Taxifahrern zugute kam.

Location was excellent, beds comfortable and room spacious. Balcony lovely to look out , and sitting on the terrace , very cosy and quiet, perfect for relaxing city break , there was a fridge in the room, and lots of space on the wardrobe, staff was fabulous - very helpful

We found it hard to find at first, as the name over the entry isnt very clear - its a handwritten Hcathedral on the facade in between the shops - just facing the actual Cathedral. It's a little outdated, but we didn't mind that, the shower is in the bath with a curtin and the handle had to be put back in place as kept falling , but shower itself was good and strong when it stayed in place, the breakfast was ok - typical continental with some scrambled eggs , so something to pick on for anyone , there was nothing we didn't like really

Nous avons passé 2 nuits formidables dans cet hébergement paisible et joliment décoré. Le couple d'hôtes est adorable, avec un sens de l'accueil exceptionnel : toujours aux petits soins tout en restant très discrets. Le petit-déjeuner était incroyable – copieux, composé uniquement de produits frais et locaux d'excellente qualité. L'endroit est bien équipé, avec café et thé disponibles en permanence. Une expérience à renouveler absolument ! 10/10

The entrance is hard to locate, especially when driving - could do with better directions. The same is true for the car park. Both require much negotiation around Funchal's one-way roads.

Très bon emplacement au cœur de la vieille ville et non loin de l'océan. Le personnel est très accueillant. Nous avions une chambre avec petit balcon ce qui l'a rendait attractive. La décoration est sombre et un peu vieillotte. La literie est confortable. Les rideaux ne sont pas très faciles à ouvrir (le système est bien usé, peut-être à changer...). Le stationnement (situé dans une cour à 5/10 minutes de marche) est un vrai plus. Nous avons aimé le petit déjeuner qui est suffisamment varié sans être gastronomique quoique les petites pâtisseries portugaises font parties des meilleures que j'ai mangé à Madère. Je vous recommande l'adresse pour une ou deux nuits si vous avez envie d'être dans une ambiance de vacances un peu plus animée que dans les montagnes.

Das Hotel liegt wirklich mitten in der Stadt, die Kathedrale (Hotel hat nicht zu Unrecht den Namen Catedral). Frühstück ist gut, die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Den bei Booking COM versprochenen Parkplatz gibt es so nicht. Hatten Glück, dass wir vorm Haus am Sonntag (kostenlos) ein Parkplatz hatten, mussten dann aber ab 9:00 Uhr. Die Parkuhr füttern.

La ubicación del hotel es excelente, muy céntrico y cerca de todo lo que hay que visitar en Funchal. Hotel limpio, con personal atento y agradable. Habitación amplia y limpia. Si vuelvo a Funchal volvería 100%.

Las ventanas son de madera y no aislan bien, por lo menos la de la habitación que me ha tocado a mi, por lo tanto el ruido de la calle se escucha. No obstante, no se puede tener todo, estar en pleno centro y tener silencio absoluto.

Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Frühstück ist reichlich, sogar mit frischen Früchten und verschiedenen Broten. Ich würde jederzeit wieder in dieses Hotel gehen.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Dies bedingt allerdings, dass es sowohl abends (Musik), als auch morgens (Lieferwagen) sehr laut ist.

Location was excellent. Being near the Cathedral meant I easily found my way back. The view from my room was not great, it overlooked the nearby apartment . The view from the terrace on the top of the building was great. The breakfast was also excellent . Staff were friendly and very helpful. The Hotel was well maintained and kept very clean.
