Great location

Breakfast quality was variable over the two days that we stayed, generally tasty and sufficiently filling however. Room decently sized and appointed. Proximity to pedestrian zone was nice.

Some front desk staff welcoming and cheery, while other reception staff made us feel less welcome by their tone of requiring a credit card preauthorisation for potential mini-bar use AND as a security deposit for any damage (guilty before later proven innocent). Repeated hesitancy to welcome a gay couple.

Good location for my trip.

No on site parking and then was led to believe that they had reduced parking with Q park to reduce parking costs significantly. This is only true if you pre book parking. No one mentioned that when checking in so parking cost £29.50 hotel room was £33!! Staff who were clueless at reception are to blame they told us to use the code when leaving the car park. Train your staff.

Great location close to the university and town centre. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the menu had many cooked and cold options. I'm not sure why some people have said the breakfast wasn't good as it was the most comprehensive breakfast menu I've seen in a hotel for a long time!

The location is near the Cultural Heart development so the walk isn't as direct as it used to be from the University side. But that isn't the hotel's fault and it will soon be complete so it will be a perfect location then!

It was quiet and not many people staying there.

The restaurant was only open for sort of snacks, which I missed. No dinner and no bar. There was a great pub next door but it was shut. I think the bathroom could do with towel rails. It is a Muslim hotel, I think. No meat at breakfast, which didn’t bother me.

The lift weren’t working so I I had to walk all the way to the room, Heating in the room it was a nightmare.. really warm and the fan that I had it didn’t work either. Breakfast in the morning, the pastries were from the day before and hard as hell. Not worth it for the money that I paid I am afraid.

Absolutely stunning room! I stayed in the nior suite and it was immaculate, decorated nicely, and very spacious

Booked in advance paid £140 ish for the room however Upon arrival was told I had to pay a £50 deposit or I wouldn’t be allowed to enter the room! I made the man on reception aware that I saw NOTHING about this and I personally felt he was rude & he said “ well it says there’s a deposit required “ the next morning spoke to a woman who was lovely & mentioned it to her she looked through the whole of booking.com and couldn’t see where it mentions a deposit! To be fair I got it back quickly but not the point, if I couldn’t have paid the deposit I would have wasted £140! The room is quite stuffy but there’s a fan in the room Also be aware if you use the mini bar it will be deducted from your deposit

The breakfast was delicious - and the staff in the breakfast room helpful!

Lift not working, had to lug two very heavy suitcases up two flights of fire stairs. Not an easy task. Bed was tiny for two people. Was clean but rooms look run down.

Locations to the town and shops

There was no fan or air conditioning in the room which made it hot and uncomfortable to sleep. The charge of £50 taken on checking was not expected The parking facility was small and awkward to manoeuvre

The customer service was excellent, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Although I arrived before the official check-in time, the room was already prepared, and the lovely receptionist kindly offered me an early check-in, which I truly appreciated. The receptionist was warm, welcoming, and accommodating, always greeting guests with a smile. The room was spotless, smelled fresh, and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. While the restaurant could benefit from offering a wider variety of breakfast options, the staff were friendly and attentive, making the overall experience very pleasant.

The room was spacious, the bathroom well appointed and dressing gowns! Strong wi-fi. The location is good - close to the centre of town and easy to find with satnav.

Some of the woodwork in the room could do with a lick of paint and the bathroom blind needs fixing. Neither I nor the receptionist could get the unreasonably complicated TV to show 'normal' TV channels so had to resort to my laptop to watch the England game. Breakfast was pretty disappointing for the price - eggs were the only cooked option.

The room was perfect, it was quiet apart from a couple of guest slamming door early morning but that not the hotels fault. Staff were well mannered and pleasant and available if needed. The location was close to university and town centre.

Just the people who slammed the doors and did not think of other people after 2 pm

Location for events in the Town Hall is excellent. Food very good. Lots of choice. All staff were very friendly.

Everything was great. The rooms were hot but so was the weather. Aircon would be great. A fan was provided however.

Room 204 was much more comfortable than other rooms I have been allocated. Better size, window that can be opened.

Cook breakfast (poached eggs, mushrooms and bake beans) took a very long time when needing to go to work.

The staff where great very polite and gave me all the information regarding the stay. The room was nice and clean with a selection of snacks and drinks for a price.

The breakfast was very disappointing not much of a selection. Took a long time for the cook food to be prepared with only Halal options.

Arrived late for lunch at 8:50 so had a muffin and coffee.

Parking was difficult the route in was blocked by cars and I was told to go in through the out (exit). The staff member of staff that met me earlier when I tried to checkin was not very helpful the ones I saw after were so much better.

Poor bathroom, in my room, I was in a disabled room, no mirror in the bathroom, the shower was not adjustable and tiny sink.

Rooms need some TLC and updating (chipped paint and peeling walls). Mugs were stained on the inside.

It was beautifully decorated rooms were spacious enough and very clean and tidy

There was no air con and it was so hot so our nights sleep was very uncomfortable although the beds were very comfy.

Very clean rooms. Staff were very helpful. I liked the room size and it had everything I needed. I even managed to bags one of the free car park spaces (there are 6). The breakfast was really lovely and the lady taking orders was very helpful.

I went during the heatwave and there was no air conditioning. There was a large fan in the room which was good. However, I had an uncomfortable sleep with a 6 hour drive the next day. Other than this, the hotel is perfect so I would definitely come back under normal weather conditions.

Great location and easy access to shops etc

Room was a little grubby, found several chocolates around that had been discarded and not cleaned. Cobwebs in the corners, carpet had some minor stains and walls were scuffed. No toilet roll holder and part used rolls were just left on the radiator. Desk unfit for working, chair too low and desk too high. Understand the hotel is trying to be a little " boutique " but was very dark and oppressive upon entry and throughout.

Beautiful, sumptuous hotel - very clean with a comfortable bed. Lovely, healthy breakfast with a good choice of items on offer. Perfectly situated in the centre of Huddersfield. Great for a show at Huddersfield Town Hall - it is directly opposite the hotel. A good night's sleep is guaranteed, it was very peaceful and quiet. Staff were polite and friendly.

Conveniently sited for town hall where we were attending a concert. Short walk to town centre too. Nice pub next door.

Hotel was nicely situated, clean and provided a fantastic breakfast. Only issue we had was the lack of air conditioning and the weather was extremely hot (30+ degrees)!! Difficult to sleep in them temperatures.

Really like this place and use it probably as much as twice per month. People are great, location excellent and a fantastic breakfast

Its limited parking but you can generally get parked there, if not there is a paid for car park net door that can be used.

A hidden gem. We travelled to visit the Rat and Ratchett pub and it was only a short walk away. The hotel was perfect in every regard. Thank you.

Was a nice enough hotel in a central location. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Room was smaller than made to look in photos and was way too warm. A fan was provided but did little to help sleep comfortably. Breakfast was underwhelming.

Was really looking forward to breakfast after a long day before. Being in the uk I EXPECT ON A FULL ENGLISH PORK SAUSAGES AND BACON NOT TURKEY BACON AND BEEF SAUSAGES. I refuse to have breakfast and asked if I could have the 2 cans and packet of crisps taken off as we paid for breakfast and didn’t have anything. Was told no so to anyone that wants a proper breakfast don’t stay here if I was in Egypt or somewhere that is a Muslim country I wouldn’t expect real bacon but I’m in the UK. Ended up driving near home and going into the village hotel for a breakfast. That is the only downside to this hotel!

It felt very dull. The first room we had was dark, small and not what we had booked but was quickly sorted.

The scrambled eggs were literally how your mum made in back in the 70's - the breakfast felt like a bit of an uncomfortable add on. The room was wonderful, and the welcome was fabulous.

I wasn't that keen on the breakfast, but there was quite a lot wrong with the bathroom, including a very ill fitting toilet seat, and various other things which I listed at reception.

Poo mark on duvet, changed immediately to be fair but not what you want when getting into bed at midnight. Window blinds didn't have cord or stick to open or adjust so we're closed all the time. £50 deposit at check in which was unexpected.

The location was right in the centre therefore great access to the Huddersfield field town and amenities etc.

The room I was in only had a very small window high up in the wall so I couldn't see out and very little natural light. But as I didn't spend much time in the room it was okay.

The breakfast was not great , long waiting time as there was only one staff to attend to us..not the kind of breakfast you would expect from such nice hotel.

We had a very comfortable stay. The staff were exceptional, even arranged for breakfast to be served earlier for us to leave early to an event.

The rooms could do with abit of TLC, blinds broken in one, toilet roll holder broken in the other.

Breakfast was limited, building site opposite was very noisy very early.

Welcoming & relaxing . Staff were very mindful in miscommunication. The ambiance was good & the hotel room its self was great to the eye. The bathroom was clean & basic. Sheets were clean and as where the cushions as long with a complementary mini bar

I stay here often, very nice rooms and great location allowing you to wander into Town without having to get taxis / cars etc. The breakfast is always amazing

The car park is not always available although their is a paid for option next door but nothing that can be done they have done a fantastic job with what is there

I was there for 4 nights, the garbage bin wasn’t emptied, toiletries weren’t replenished. Only one person working breakfast, it took so long, scrambled eggs were cold and dry ice hotel with a good location

The room itself could do with some upgrades: - blinds were broken - shower head was broken - not sure it if was the bed itself or carpet on one side of the room that was a bit shabby Also there were 2 mirrors in the room, one beside the wardrobe & one in the bathroom with no plugs beside or even in the same room as them, I was unable to do my hair with a mirror which is a ridiculous set up. Not sure if that was just in the room I was in or if all rooms are like this.

Had to book this hotel at short notice, due to unexpected death in family. From the moment we checked in, the experience was very pleasant. The whole staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is exceptionally clean and spacious. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and good size. Very comfortable bed. The hotel is ideally located for all amenities. The breakfast was delicious, ideal to start the day. Although this booking was made at short notice for unexpected reasons, we will definitely be booking again in the very near future.

Just minor, small things. Rooms and furnishings definitely designed for very tall people. Had to stand on tip toes to see in bathroom mirror and desk was so high from chair made it difficult to work. Really loud creak in floorboard between bathroom and room which kept making me jump 🤣

Breakfast is lovely, people are really nice and helpful. Rooms are well put together and are always clean and look nice.

I couldnt park in the car park, there are quite a few rooms but only approx 5 car parking spaces.I parked next to the property in a public car park but that worked out £15 per day so can work out quite expensive
