Overall, my stay was unsatisfactory, and the services did not meet my expectations. My main concerns were: • No concierge service was available to assist with luggage. • The hotel’s location is not ideal, with limited services nearby, and it is approximately 17 minutes from the city Centre. • The car park is uncovered and relatively far from the hotel entrance, making it inconvenient. • The air conditioning in one of the rooms was not working, and the response was unsatisfactory. We were informed that no air-conditioning technician was available because it was Saturday. Overall: The experience was unsatisfactory, and I would not stay at this hotel again.

It was our first time staying here, for my daughter's return to University. I found the hotel lovely. Very clean and spacious, with a quiet and dark room and staff all very attentive. Also, with a car loaded with 'back to uni' supplies It had the added benefit of convenient and free parking. We had a burger in The View restaurant, which was very good. I will definitely stay again instead of our usual over priced boutique hotel in town.

The shower was a little grubby and could do with a good deep clean. Apart from that the room was spotless. Silly gripe but only 2 milk sachets. I know I could have gone to reception to get more - but not in my pants first thing. The menu online differs from the actual hotel. The upstairs bar is fantastic, but rightly pricey. The downstairs bistro bar is better value but like a crèche.

Beautiful location on arrival, was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were decorated to a high standard and facilities were fab. Breakfast was lovely.

Nearly an hour wait to access the room, of which we weren’t the only ones. It wouldn’t have been as bad if Marriott dome specifically email stating ‘guaranteed entry from 3pm’. We arrived at 3:20 with two children and was a bit frustrated at having to wait for so long given the ‘guarantee’ perhaps just remove this from your welcome email to avoid problems.

From the very beginning, the service and instructions for out of hours check in were so clear and well communicated. The hotel itself was a high standard and beautiful. The breakfast selection was excellent and as was the location. I can honestly say that we will be going back again.

Fantastic friendly staff, in every part of the hotel. They were all helpful and attentive. The Hotel is modern and new, exceptionally clean. Good Breakfast and free parking. Lovely views. Bar food is limited but excellent. I felt very safe as a lone female traveller. Also free cold water, still and sparkling.

More information about the restaurant menu and opening times would be good. And the only thing I can honestly say it needs was a coaster for your glass because of the drips, I noticed others were having the same issue.

We were in room 725 We were kept awake after a very long journey with thumping/ noise noise and more noise we didn’t get to sleep until late and I’m 75/ and partner 83. We were told it was the night cleaners above us cleaning. I never want to stay on this level again PLEASE. Also we were there from 3am until 12 pm next day and all we had was 2 tea bags 2 coffee 2 milks to last us ??this is not good enough.

Perfect location for driving to Cornwall for a stay over. The hotel was immaculately clean, the rooms were very spacious and had everything you needed. The beds were large and comfortable. The bars and restaurants were lovely. The breakfast was very, very good, we were so surprised at the quality of food and amount on offer. Will definitely return next time we drive to Cornwall to break the journey up.

Positives. Rooms are good standard, clean, functional. We’ve stayed here a couple of time around October and no issues. This time however the building is surround by a metal structure. Some architect obviously thought it would be a genuine idea. Unfortunately what they didn’t teach them At architect school is that when metal has been heated up all day in the sun , will then contract when it cools. Meaning a very loud banging and clunking from sunset onwards. Despite this from 8pm. I managed to sleep ok from 11pm but was woken again shortly after sunrise as it started again. Shame as it’s quite a nice hotel with nice rooms but lack of sleep becomes too much to ignore. The most annoying thing for me, despite 3 people being present on check out, not one asked me how our stay was. Obviously don’t care. Complete contrast to check in where the guy was inquisitive and informative and seemed to care. As a one off over night stay (all we ever use it for on the way to Cornwall) it’ll do. If you’re stopping for work or longer. Don’t book it in the warmer months if you want to sleep.

The coffee making resources in the room are poor. Would expect nicer coffee in 4 star room. The cooked breakfast was a buffet, all sitting out eggs getting hard, mushrooms soggy. Would expect freshly cooked in 4 star hotel.

We have eaten here twice - the restaurant on the top floor (reservation only) is excellent. I am afraid the bistro/cafe on the third floor that we visited whist staying overnight here was disappointing, overpriced and poor quality. I am afraid we had to send one dish back it was so bad. Fair play to the hotel, they owned the problem, refunded the offending meal and offered a complimentary alternative so we have no complaints about the customer service.

Could have done with a sign once you turn into Sandy Park. All you see when you approach is David Lloyd gym. It was dusk which didn’t help and the actual hotel was not to be seen and the direction sign was around the corner.

The Hotel is conveniently located at a nice place. Rooms were clean and Beds were very comfy. Front Desk staff were very helpful and courteous!!

The hotel is in a great location close to the M5 motorway and with easy access to the city centre. All the staff, from reception to restaurant to housekeeping were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The building is very modern and the hotel has excellent facilities. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent.

We have stayed here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Really pleasant and helpful staff, particularly Towrin on Reception who checked us in. Clean comfortable rooms, and despite being so close to the motorway, very quiet. Nice bar and restaurant. Good parking

Air conditioning was good. Staff were friendly and reception was efficient. Blackout curtains were effective. Beds were comfortable.

No notice about parking charges, nor did the staff mention it. Breakfast was poor, not the best layout and flow, coffee machine blocking buffet counter, toaster was rubbish considering the number of diners. Towels hung up for reuse were changed every day regardless. Not enough milk in the rooms, barely enough to make one cup of tea.

The hotel was great, staff were exceptionaly friendly, were very knowledable about the local area, tourist spots etc. I'd certainly stay there again.

My only very minor down point would be the location. The hotel is very close to the local rugby club's grounds and sports facilities which is not a criticism but it is a fair distance out from Exeter itself which means there are no shops, convenience stores or restaurants within walking distance.

Very disappointed with our stay at the Marriott, Sandy Park, Exeter. We booked a two night stay, two deluxe king rooms, for my daughters graduation weekend. The first thing to say is that the hotel is very much style over substance. The rooms are very basic, on a level with a good Premier Inn. The weekend of our stay, 12th & 13th July '26 was very hot, around 90 degrees + outside. Never mind I thought the hotel is air conditioned throughout. The temperature in our room never fell below 26 degrees, despite the AC being set to max' on the lowest setting. It was useless, like an asthmatic mouse exhaling luke-warm air. We complained and fair enough were given another room (no help moving) which was the same or maybe marginally worse. Our first night was a Sunday, on arrival I asked to make dinner reservations but was politely informed that the restaurant & bar were not open on Sundays!!! I have travelled the world on business staying in Marriott, Melia, Hilton & other premium hotels and have never, ever before been to that the restaurant (& bar are closed, Madness). We were directed to the 'Bistro' bar where we waited over an hour for a re-heated burger and a Caesar salad with NO DRESSING, just a plate of rocket. The food was appalling, no waiter service, only order at the bar and no facility to charge purchases to the room, pay as you go at the bar, again I have never experienced this in a Marriott before, just unbelievable. Every unoccupied table was covered in empty glasses and swimming in liquid, zero effort was made to clear even one table. On Monday evening after we returned from dinner outside the hotel (thank goodness) curiosity got the better of me and I went up to the 'View' bar & restaurant at circa 9pm. The restaurant and bar were empty, maybe half a dozen people. I had a drink from the bar, again no waiter service or room charge available, which I drank and left, as did the bar person and all the staff! I say again, a stylish looking hotel but hugely lacking in quality, service, oversight, and the food.......well the least said the better. Second stay at this hotel. Very easy to get to, just off the M5. Parking is free. Comfortable beds, generous breakfasts, quiet room. My partner is allergic to feather pillows, these were quickly changed on request. All staff friendly and approachable.

There was a small fridge in the room, but this was not switched on, which would have been helpful given the weather.

We were pleased with the air conditioning at the hotel as it was important in that hot week 26/6 and the fridge in the room . Hotel facilities good , parking,bars, restaurants. Good location on outskirts for our trip. Good buffet breakfast. Good entertainment in roof top bar. elsewhere.

Smaller room than expected especially the bathroom for the price paid. More of an airport hotel room really. The refreshment tray was very poor with very few milk sachets etc.

The breakfast was continental and cooked style. Usual options available. I would not say it was the best but was generally well cooked. The room was a good size. The lifts to our floors were super quick so you did not have to wait too long.

On the 7th floor . So restaurant above room . All you could hear is the moving of tables and chairs and kind of banging till around 12;45 ish ! And In morning before 10am cleaners trying to let them self in without knocking 1st to even see if anyone still in room !

Reception never answers the calls. You have to go downstairs to communicate with anyone from the hotel. There is no water in the room. When you ask for water, they say you have to buy tiny cartoon water boxes from the shop. You can’t go and buy from elsewhere because the closest shop is 20 mins away. There is no room service. The cafe downstairs served me Caesar salad with raw chicken. Overall very poor experience.

We had an absolutely outstanding dining experience at The View Restaurant at the Courtyard by Marriott Sandy Park, Exeter. The food was exceptional from start to finish, and the service was just as impressive. On our first evening, we couldn't resist the incredible three starters for the price of one offer. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The Free Range Scotch Duck Egg with nduja sausage, mustard and bitter leaf salad was superb, the Prawn Cocktail with luxury prawns and Bloody Mary dressing was fresh and indulgent, and the Duck Liver Parfait with rhubarb & ginger, candied pumpkin seeds and toasted brioche was simply outstanding. The second evening was equally memorable. We started with the delicious tomato and roasted red pepper soup, served with freshly baked bread and butter, before enjoying one of the best Centre Cut Fillet Steaks we've had. Cooked perfectly, it was accompanied by a rich beef fat onion, roast celeriac and wonderfully crispy triple-cooked chunky chips. What really made our stay special, though, was the fantastic team. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. A special mention has to go to Beccy, who went above and beyond to make us feel looked after throughout our meals. Her warmth, professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. Outstanding food, excellent value, first-class service and a wonderful atmosphere. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would highly recommend The View Restaurant to anyone visiting Exeter. Five stars all the way!

Annoyed I was told that they couldn’t have 3 adults in a room only to discover the bedroom could accommodate it when I opened the door. I therefore then had to explain the situation and get a refund for the extra unnecessary bedroom that I had booked.

Great room great staff

Air-conditioning did not work and left us with no choice to swap room, given a fan but that just blew hot air around the room. The staff were very apologetic, gave us a drink and water but feel i should have had some discount on the superior room fee.
