Very welcoming staff and beautifully designed rooms, with lots of space and great ammenities. LumaJOJO restaurant was amazing, with the highlights being the mushroom truffle pizza, Australian wagyu ribeye and if you have a sweet tooth, the burnt basque cheesecake!

Prijs was best hoog, de auto parkeren kan maar wel reserveren. Anders zit er een garage beneden. Ontbijt erg lekker. Het is wat aan de prijs. Niet heel persoonlijk zoals we jn Maleisië gewend zijn. Helaas ook geen ramen wat het een beetje somber maakt.

Would be ideal if there were a pool

The hotel was very comfortable with friendly staff - in particular the door man who was great to chat to as we waited for cars. We went over the road for a laundry service, which was very helpful extra while travelling from one location to another. We enjoyed a walk around the mall opposite. Prices were nearly the same as the UK, so it was more window shopping while killing time.

The beds were the least comfortable (hard) in our 3 weeks of travel across Malaysia and the breakfast was poor by comparison and we'd had to pay for it separately. Overall the claims of the level of luxury at this location felt a bit over stated. We weren't there for Instagram hits of a shiny lobby area though. After paying around 100 MYR for a few drinks and croissants in the in-house cafe, we went over the road to the other coffee shops for our next round.

This hotel surprised and delighted us. Lovely modern atmosphere in the public spaces and the restaurant was world class. Rooms were large and clean and well appointed and the staff all lovely

Good location (restaurants/supermarkets, shopping center just a few minutes' walk away), parking options, and a well-equipped, clean, and nicely furnished room with very comfortable beds. We were very pleased with our room (and I especially loved the huge bathroom).I would definitely book here again if I came back.

The breakfast was a disappointment. It consisted of a combination of an à la carte and a buffet. The selection for the à la carte was very limited (one could choose only a single dish, which, moreover, did not taste particularly good). The buffet was even more disappointing, offering only a meager selection of jams, bread, muesli, and a little salad (along with perhaps apples and bananas). Given the hotel's category and the price of the breakfast—especially when compared to other hotels in the same category—we felt the breakfast was a significant weak point of the Luma Hotel; there is room for improvement here...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a wonderful stay at Luma Hotel! The location is excellent and made it very convenient to get around. The room was comfortable, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing rest after a long day. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Another big plus is that there are plenty of great food options within walking distance, so finding something delicious was never a problem. Highly recommend Luma Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a great location. I would definitely stay here again!

Dislike: Honestly, the only downside is that the room was so comfortable that I didn't want to leave! I wish I could have stayed a few more nights. Definitely a place that makes checkout feel way too soon.

We had a pleasant stay at The Luma Hotel. The hotel is true to the pictures, and the rooms and facilities looked exactly as advertised. The overall cleanliness, comfort, and service were great, and we enjoyed our time here.

The only downside was the air ventilation in the room. We are not sure if it was due to the air-conditioning system or the air filters, but most of our group developed sore throats and flu-like symptoms during our stay. The aircon makes our throat dry. This may be an area that the hotel could look into and improve.

The breakfast was disappointing and did not meet the standard expected from your hotel. However, the atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant.

Location is great, lot of convenience stores and restaurants downstairs. Room is comfortable and clean overall.

Check-in process was a bit messy and we have to pay for overnight parking.

Super aesthetic space. Perfect for those who likes the out-of-the-usual hotel rooms and spaces. Perfectly and generously designed (except for the lifts lol). Nice location, above convenience shops and restaurants and cafes and quite a walkable distance to KK Times Square and Imago Mall.

The gym could have better machines and heavier weights. There's enough space for it. The walls are quite thin, and i can hear my next door neighbours knocking and some conversations, and also footsteps outside my door. There's the ocassional planes flying over the hotel which can clearly hear, but was not too bothering. Wish the TV is a smart TV (for the price and modernity), it only has the basic channels most of which are not watchable.

I love the scent used throughout this hotel. I t smells so pleasant and comforting. The room was very clean and tidy, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I also love the hotel's color combination; it creates a warm and elegant atmosphere. The lobby is beautiful and well-designed. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

침대가 매우 커서 좋았음. 위치도 이마고몰 앞이라 가까워 좋았다.

장판 바닥이라 위생에 좋고 편하긴 하지만 고급스러운 느낌은 없음, 동그란 소파가 불편해서 방 안에서 앉을 곳이 없었다.

Direct parking in front of the hotel. Location wise nearby to a few malls all within 15 min drive. Room was really spacious. The bathroom fittings were all beautiful and of quality. Very clean hotel and beds were also very comfortable. Hotel slightly more expensive compared to the others in the area but it was worth the comfort we had.

The breakfast spread was not very impressive so not worth it in my opinion. The scrambled eggs that the chef made was beautiful though.

Our upgraded room was great, spacious and with a very good bed. The restaurant is very good and has the most extensive and amazing winelist we've seen in a long time.

I really liked how thoughtful everything felt — the space was clean, cozy, and not too overwhelming, which made it so easy to just settle in with the kids. The design is simple but aesthetic, very calming after a long day out.

Not much to complain about, but I do wish there was room service for convenience—especially when you just want to stay in and rest with the kids. A swimming pool would’ve been nice too. But at the same time, we got a room with a bathtub which my kids absolutely loved, so that made up for it.

The only negative is we stayed just one night. Great staff, stunning rooms, decor. The lobby was beautiful and the smell - felt like i was about to have a massage! Great location too, across from big mall. Loved this find!

LUMA Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah I stayed at LUMA Hotel Kota Kinabalu from 15 to 17 April 2026, and had a thoroughly pleasant experience. This boutique hotel offers tastefully designed rooms that are both comfortable and well-appointed with all essential amenities. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the air-conditioning operated silently and efficiently—contributing to a very restful stay. The warm colour scheme further enhanced the inviting atmosphere. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. From the moment you arrive, you are warmly greeted by the reception staff—consistently courteous, attentive, and always smiling throughout the day. The General Manager, Mr. Gordon Seet, was personally present in the lobby to welcome guests, which added a thoughtful and personal touch. The bell service team was equally impressive. Whether arriving or departing, they went beyond routine duties, offering assistance with genuine care. Upon my departure, Johnny from the bell service was particularly helpful—assisting with my luggage and thoughtfully coordinating my pick-up vehicle while I attended a meeting before heading to the airport. The standout strength of this boutique hotel lies in its employees, whose attentiveness and commitment to customer service elevate the entire experience. Well done, Sabahans!

Hotel is expensive but service is dismal. Breakfast suppose to start at 6am but even till 7am,coffee not ready. We book a triple room but amenities were for 2 and I have to ask more extra. This is not Marriot hotel standard and at almost $200sgd per night,it's like a daylight robbery. Never will I stay in Marriot Hotels anymore.

The staff.

The marketing and promotional materials are misleading and the property isn’t anything as advertised. We believed we were booking a tasteful, cozy hotel but, in reality, the place is weird, It is located in a commercial building, never meant to be a hotel. It looks strange, not appealing at all, the location is not good (in front of a very busy street), our room had no windows, and there was a constant glow coming from the outside. The breakfast was dismal, borderline unacceptable.

Beautiful design, Greeted by a wonderful team, Given refreshments and cold flannels upon arrival, Check in smooth. Rooms were large spacious, clean bedding. Bathroom beautiful with conditioner, shampoo and shower gel available with toiletries if needed. AC great and quiet. Pillows wonderful. (Bed quite hard for my personal preference). Gym very good had all the amenities even a bar(that's a new one may recommend to my local gym..) Fresh water supplied at the lobby free of charge.

Being charged 200RM on our card on arrival..Incase of damages 14 days return.. why they can't just hold this money on your card and return upon check out.. (Being petty) Other guests bags were wheeled to their rooms, we had to drag ours to the room. Lifts were the resident hunting ground for mosquitos..(maybe spray the lifts every now and again). Such a modern designed room, yet fails with technology, (TV with no option for Netflix/prime or connection access). Plug sockets not great...(English plugs)

Dit mooie hotel ligt op een zeer gunstige locatie vlakbij de luchthaven van Kota Kinabalu. Hoewel het gebouw wordt gedeeld met andere partijen en de buitenkant daardoor misschien wat minder indruk maakt, is de inrichting van binnen prachtig en trendy. Wij verbleven hier één nacht tijdens onze doorreis en dat is uitstekend bevallen. Onze kamer was ruim, zeer schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Daarnaast is er een goede gym aanwezig voor de liefhebbers. Het ontbijtbuffet was qua variatie wat aan de karige kant, maar gelukkig is er op de begane grond een gezellige koffiecorner. Hier kun je als alternatief een heerlijk ontbijt kopen met kwalitatief goede cappuccino. Tot slot was de manager ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een aanrader voor een comfortabele tussenstop!

Ontbijt variatie was wat aan de karige kant. Mensen die langer verblijven zouden misschien wel een (buiten)zwembad erbij willen

We checked in quite late after 9pm, the service was amazing and incredibly helpful assisting us with our room. Location fantastic, across road (walkway bridge) is two malls, food places. Cannot fault. Stunning decor, the lobby had a real "contemporary " vibe, and the beatuful smell.. like a day spa! Central location only 15 from airport too

Only one roll of TP! But housekeeping was quick to bring more!
