The view was great.
We have booked here a few times now for short stays and always love it. It is perfectly located for a day on the beach or visiting the shops and restaurants and close to a couple of decent carparks. We were lucky enough to be there this time during very warm weather and while the property is a bit too old for fixed AC a portable unit had been put in the room which made a big difference. Staff were ver friendly and we always have had a really good breakfast there.
Nothing, we love this place and town and will be back soon
Beautiful location and very tastefully decorated with lovely outdoor terrace over-looking the sea
Location is fantastic, with a beautiful view of the sea from our room and from the dining area.
The shower was a little tired - the seal around it needed replacing. It would have been great to have some hooks or a rack to dry swimming gear.
Lokatie is perfect.

Beautiful room and view
Needed aircon which was loud and not that effective. But I guess that's life
Breakfast was lovely as we the staff. The gentleman who showed us our room was very friendly and welcoming.
The room did slant slightly which made the bed slant.
The hotel is right by the sea, beautiful views from our room, the restaurant and bar seating area. The food was excellent, such a good breakfast to start the day. All the staff were friendly, professional and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay.
Our room had a water leak issue but was dealt with professionally and had no negative impact on our stay. A couple of minor issues that good improve the stay, more coat hangers, bigger bed side tables.
Great location and very good quality food.
Portable Aircon was noisy and inefficient.
Posizione fronte mare, personale cordiale, buon ristorante.
Mooie, ruime kamer en erg vriendelijk personeel.
Personeel soms niet zo goed georganiseerd.
Great location, food and drinks all very good.
Unfortunately, it was very hot during our stay and the fans / aircon unit provided in the three rooms we and our friends stayed in were somewhat old, noisy and ineffective. The hotel ideally needs to upgrade to professionally fitted air conditioning to enable its guests to sleep comfortably.
Tutto, posizione, ambiente, accoglienza e camera da sogno.
Nulla.
Fabulous location right in the Center. Very clean and comfortable room for a good nights sleep. The staff were all very welcoming.
The room is very cosy - little space around the bed would make logistics tricky for two people sharing. The chef unfortunately called in sick so the paid for breakfast was limited to toast and cereal… making it a very expensive toast and coffee as no compensation was provided despite follow up. Which considering I left early before breakfast the following morning especially hurt. And as the room is also on the more expensive side of rooms available in town. (Though to be fair it was a prime busy weekend so everywhere prices were somewhat inflated).
Location was the only positive thing my son had to say regarding this hotel.
So disappointed . I booked this room for my son and his girlfriend as he was going to propose to his girlfriend. I specifically phoned the hotel prior to their stay to guarantee a sea view and they confirmed there would be a full view of the coastline.. This was not honoured ( they could see just a glimpse of the sea) and to make it worse the A/C was not working .
Fantastic location with views overlooking the sea. Great to have a delicious breakfast outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. The staff were very friendly hardworking and helpful.
Due to the location of the hotel there was no parking. It took nearly an hour going round all the car parks in Lyme Regis to finally find somewhere to park.
Location was fantastic! Clean and well equipped
Thin walls and bed was on a slant
Ideal location for exploring the beach, lovely staff who were so helpful, and a lovely Inn that was very comfortable and had a much needed mini fridge in the room.
Location. Great room, very comfortable. Wonderful views
Breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good.
The room was hot, but the UK was experiencing ridiculously hot weather at the time and not many old 'character' buildings here are built to handle that, so it was not really a fault of the Rock Point. A good fan and a kind of 'air-con' was provided which helped.
Close proximity to the beach restaurants & shops
The breakfast was a little unorganised, and basic. Three times out of five, I had to find staff to order breakfast. They forgot our drink orders bread for toast should have been covered as flys around. No sugar or condiments on the table. Sugar cubes a big no, as other people hands have been in the pot! Should get individual sachets.
Excellent stay with friendly, welcoming service from the staff. The bed was very comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious, and the lovely sea view made the experience even more enjoyable. We would happily stay here again.
The location was perfect
Tired and in need of refresh, damp smelling bathroom, wet room cramped and shower wet everything inc loo roll, teeny room for money.
Friendly staff, great location
Perfect location and friendly efficient staff. Delicious breakfast and cozy bar and terrace areas.
Rooms were very hot during the heatwave and portable a/c units and fans were extremely noisy and not very efficient
Location, staff and facilities in the room
It was a but hot in the room although a Dyson fan had been provided. But it was 30 degrees outside so it was understandable
Lovely venue. Clean. Great staff. Made adjustments for us as we were attending a wedding and needed an early check in. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely go back
Nothing
We loved the location and the view from our room.
It’s very nicely decorated but things are starting to look a little tired around the place.
The staff were so lovely and the room was super quaint, loved the location and the quality of the food.
The room smelt a little musty but it is an old building by the sea so what can you do?
lovely quirky hotel, great staff, lovely atmosphere, great food
Food was great, staff were excellent, location was excellent 👍
Excellent location. It was the hottest day of the year and they had two fans going in my room when I arrived. It was the best they could do. I was on my own and the staff worked non stop in 36 degrees! I felt very comfortable there.
Only the heat but they don’t control the weather. They couldn’t have done anymore.
Location wonderful , food great , prompt and well presented. Drinks choice good. Service.
If outside, the seagulls . But comes with the territory . Provide s talking / humour with other guests . .
Amazing location, lovely staff and good food.
The only thing to not make perfect is parking, but that’s the compromise with perfect sea front location in a town where parking is a premium!
Location good and it is a good pub. Room 6 was without doubt the smallest double room I have stayed in and I wouldn’t expect a pet to sleep in it. Hotter than hell with 2 desk fans circulating hot air around the room. The shower room was so small it was possible to shower, use the toilet and brush teeth at the same time. Wet Room is a good description - after showering everything was wet. I am so disgusted I will never stay in a St Austell establishment again.
As above Room 6 is not fit for a pet.
Almost everything but our room was beautiful, wonderful sea view and clean, comfortable room. The staff were superb and the food was delicious, both evening meal and very well presented and high quality breakfast. So glad we chose the Rock Point for a rest day
I’m finding it hard to think of anything I didn’t like
Stylish, quirky and unique. I wanted a sad view- the venue is right on the sea front Stunning views, and woke up to the sound of the waves crashing in the rocks . Just perfect ! Restaurant / pub great value, top notch food . Staff lovely
Nothing
Very good location. Excellent breakfast. All the staff were very helpful
A very small room that smelt damp. It was also very noisy because of traffic and people shouting outside at 3am. Over priced for the room we had
Great location. Fantastic staff and breakfast. Very quirky old building.
Stairs are steep! Okay for me - hardly for husband with mobility issues. Room was quite small and for me very hot. I like a cold room. There was a fan provided which helped and could open the window
Excellent location and friendly staff. Food was delicious.
Rooms very snug . The bathroom was a wet room which meant the floor remained wet for sometime after a shower.
La posizione, la struttura particolare,la colazione
Position, and lovely rooms.
Lots of stairs to one of the rooms. However that room was spectacular.
Great location, staff were very helpful and friendly and the decor was beautiful.
Nothing, make a booking for dinner though as the restaurant is amazing and we couldn’t get a table for dinner (our fault for not having a reservation)
Absolutely beautiful location, sea views, lovely room, welcoming staff who went above and beyond.
Sea view room nice (windows very small though) and food downstairs excellent. Parking at the pay and display next door was free overnight. Beach literally outside the door!
Did not like having a wet room bathroom. Everything gets wet!!
Location and friendly staff
Its position
The stairs up to the top floor bedroom were very very steep and narrow, a bit of a struggle for OAP’s. The chef broke his leg we therefore were told there would not be any cooked breakfast. Should have hired an agency chef in my opinion.
It has a great centeral location, the decor is very smart and the bed was very comfortable and large.
There were a few maintance issues with our room (missing tiles etc), really poor communication from staff - no information about when/where breakfast would be, very relaxed attitude to GDPR compliance and you can hear the pub downstairs. Contential breakfast was some cheap supermarket crossiants and a few pots of yoghurt - not worth it when there are so many good coffee shops in town.
Location was perfect & such a lovely old building. All the staff were exceptional, so accommodating, friendly and helpful. The room as lovely, clean & comfortable. We also ate here for dinner, food was lovely and plenty of choice. Breakfast was really good. Would definitely stay here again.
Nothing it was all great!
Great location. Stylish room.
It was a shame they did not have a breakfast chef working but the refund was appreciated.
Lovely room ,comfortable bed and delicious dinner in the bar
Some traffic noise from bin lorries in the morning
It was on the sea front
Not as nice as reviews stated. We booked it at a last minute discount, so it was just acceptable. Would struggle to justify full price of £265 a night. We didn’t get the breakfast as no chef available- appreciate he was off sick but expect a back up chef. This was disappointing as it was a selling point. The bathroom was tatty and needs a revamp. You had to go up a side entrance that wasn’t very pleasant to enter the room. Depends what you want - but I wouldn’t return.
Very likeable team, nicely located
Great location. Lovely staff and great food.
Bedroom was very small and no shower screen so water all over bathroom.
great location
was expecting a sea view from both rooms.
The hotel was lovely and food was amazing.
The room in the description/pictures that we booked was not given to us. This was very disappointing as the only reason we book that room was to have a bath but was given a smaller room with a shower. When asked I was told that the room when booked on booking.com show and describes all the rooms at that rate and that room is given to whoever checks in first... this did feel like false advertising as not just the pictures but even the description was a vaulted ceiling room with bath.
Excellent breakfast
Poor internet
Food was very good. Beds were comfortable
Location was great, just a few steps to the beach, cozy rooms, nice interior
Some of the staff members could have been a bit friendlier
Location was great
Breakfast was a little uninspiring. The cooked options were good but the continental buffet was disappointing- would have been nice to have some fresh berries/ granola not just melon slices.
The room was lovely. Food good, very busy with holiday makers
There are is no parking available nearby. All at the top of the hill and have to pay. Wish I had known, beforehand as couldn't get a cab there aren't any. Bus thankfully saves the day.
Great location, excellent friendly staff.
hookk for towel in bathroom
Location, communication with staff, breakfast, cosy and warm room, sea view
Couldn’t fault our stay. Very charming staff and comfortable beds and very good food. The location right on the seafront made it very memorable especially as the sun shone constantly. We’ll be back asap.
Breakfast was excellent, good choices available, staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was compact, perfectly adequate for a night or two, it had all the facilities required, the bathroom was a good size. We would stay there again
Best location in Lyme Regis. Good restaurant
No private parking. Nearest public car park 7-10 min wark. There is choice of several
Location . Relaxed and friendly.
Fabulous location, stunning sea views
Parking but nothing can be done about it. If you’re out all day you can usually get into one of the two small car parks close to the hotel just before the end of the charging period of 6pm
Staff were friendly, food was delicious and room was comfortable. Location fantastic
It was great. Really welcoming lovely location. From a Disability point of view I was so impressed at their thoughtful inclusion. It is not a particularly accessible location but they have done everything they can to make it better with bars and grab rails. And a radar key loo accessible from the outside. A lovely touch.
Love the location and the view out to the sea. Staff we’re welcoming and very chatty with us
Overpriced room, Food too expensive, find alternative Drinks-London prices Tiles in our en-suite looked grubby and
Cosy comfy bed and delicious breakfast. Staff super friendly and polite. Lovely place.
We checked in with Katie who greeted us with the warmth of a family member. She showed us to our room which was much better than the one I booked and explained everything we needed to know about staying at the Lifeboat Inn. Later that evening we met her again as she was the bartender at the hotel restaurant. The food was great and we spent two hours there conversing with another couple who had a couple of cute Bulldogs. The entire staff was helpful and friendly and made our stay exceptional. The next morning we could really appreciate the beautiful water view over bay at St. Ives. Thank you Katie for making our stay unforgettable! One other thing, we had a car and there isn’t any parking at the hotel. You have to park at a remote sight off property but it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. Might want to bring a smaller bag.
Great location, great food and fantastic staff
Leaving
Great location, sea views, lovely decor throughout. Friendly staff, very good breakfast and coffee.
Parking would have been a bonus but no car parking with hotel.
Breakfast choice was good, and quality fine. The first Breakfast was very slow arriving, but we were not in a hurry fortunately
It was difficult to avoid making most of the bathroom wet, due to the shower design.
Great location. Excellent and friendly staff🤩! Delicious food! Thank you
Location
Our room was left out by housekeeping due to staff illness mid stay
Great location.
The wet room wasn’t great, without any sort of screen or curtain the whole room gets wet. The bathroom radiator wasn’t working.
