The room is very small and gives the feel of Air BnB . Definitely doesnt feel like a 5 star.

Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, the room was extremely clean, tidy and very comfortable 😀 we were only there 1 night. Very handy to city center Highly recommended

We only needed to stay overnight before an early morning flight. Was a great location and rooms were exceptionally comfortable. We were able to walk into the mainentertainmetn district for a emal in teh evening - despite the wintery weather.

Location was pretty good only a short walk to a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

$25 per day paid parking is a bit steep.

Modern, beautifully appointed Hotel in a great location. Short walk into the city or up to Merivale, and close to the beautiful Hagley Park. Friendly, helpful staff. Great cafe and bar downstairs.

Front desk staff were helpful

When we were getting ready for bed that night, we found some long black curly hair that did not belong to us on both beds and on the pillows. We reported the issue to the hotel. At around 11:00 p.m., a staff member came to our room to inspect the situation and then replaced the bed sheets, duvet covers, and pillowcases. I had to wait in the room while they changed all the bedding, which took more than half an hour. Definitely not a pleasant experience before going to bed, ot has left me wth little confidence in their cleanliness.

Have to book breakfast time as it gets busy with outsiders, fitness center not on site.

The Mayfair had a really nice premise with a cafe/ restaurant that's is located perfectly on the bottom floor

The room we stayed in was comfortable however a lot of dust in hard to reach areas that are visible to the eye. As well as some of the staff not having very forth coming communicational skills.

Really clean, comfortable bedding (which was a full sized king, rather than 2 singles pushed together with the void in the middle). Well situated in a nice and quiet area with good food options around, although the restaurant on site is really nice. Staff were great, having the off site gym is really nice as its fully equipped rather than the standard hotel basement gym.

not a lot to talk too in terms of negatives... if I was to be super fussy I'd say one elevator for such a large amount of rooms was at times annoying. Although the gym was well equipped it was a little shabby and cramped.

The room was lovely and modern. The bed was super comfy and the amenities were of good quality, 24 Room service, albeit pricey was a nice touch. Loved how quiet the room was.

I was disappointed by the shower pressure, at a 5 star hotel this should be better.

Very good breakfast altho we thought the chef was new as my granola dish was arranged quite differently.

The breakfast was excellent as was the bruschetta I had through room service. Best hotel food I’ve ever had.

Too much technology. Would prefer not to have to order dishes and silverware to the room.

Everything about the stay was unreal! Simple to get to, easy to get to our room and the room was absolutely incredible! Comfiest bed, my partner and I had the best sleep in a long time. Thank you so much guys!

The only thing that would have topped it off is if the shower had more pressure and/or different shower head. Not a big deal but only little thing we noticed! Thanks again.

Pillows too large

Comfortable beds were perfect after long flights. Rooms were cozy and dark at night and very quiet. Some of our rooms were ready for early check in.

No concierge service, I basically had to carry all the bags. The room is also small for the price.

I loved everything about The Mayfair!! Great location and parking available if you need it. Understated luxury and attention to detail. Really great cafe off the foyer- breakfast there was superb. Plenty of towels in the bathroom so you can dry your washed hair and have another dry one for the body- take note other hotels! A wonderful surprise to see all toiletries were Byredo- my favourite! I have never had it in a Hotel before. I’m planning another trip to ChCh and will most definitely there again. Great city, wonderful Hotel!❤️
