Todo fue magnífico. La habitación era espectacular, muy cómoda y cuidada al detalle. La piscina y todas las instalaciones estaban impecables, y tanto la cena como el desayuno fueron realmente excelentes. También organizamos con ellos nuestro safari y todo salió perfectamente. El personal fue muy atento durante toda la estancia y la experiencia en general fue de 10. Sin duda, uno de los mejores alojamientos de nuestro viaje por Sri Lanka y un sitio al que volveríamos encantados.

A beautiful hotel with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was also excellent, with a great choice of local and international dishes. Everything we tried was delicious. Overall, a wonderful place to stay. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only small thing that could be improved is the choice of wines available by the glass.

One of the best places we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka. Taru Villas Maia is beautifully designed, with great attention to detail throughout the rooms, pathways, gardens and other facilities. Everything was immaculate and very clean. The food was excellent and the staff were warm, friendly and attentive. The location is also very convenient for visiting Sigiriya (Lion Rock), which was one of the highlights of our trip. A really beautiful and memorable place to stay.

We hebben echt een uitzonderlijk fijn verblijf gehad bij Taru Villa’s in Habarana. Het is echt een prachtige plek met mooie (schone) kamers, prachtige tuinen, zwembad en de service is uitzonderlijk goed. Aan alle details is gedacht en de persoonlijke benadering van al het personeel is geweldig. Daarnaast is het eten ook heerlijk. Veel huisgemaakt. In het restaurant werden we vaak bediend door Suboda. Dat deed hij super professioneel en vriendelijk.

Das Zimmer war wunderschön und gross. Das Abendessen war sehr fein und wir haben es sehr genossen.

Die Anlage ist wunderschön und das Zimmer war sehr schön. Leider gab es während unseres Aufenthalts extrem viele Mücken. Bereits beim Check-in haben wir mehrere Mückenstiche bekommen. Deshalb konnten wir auch den schönen Balkon kaum nutzen. Der Pool war gegen 16 Uhr nicht sauber, sodass wir ihn leider nicht benutzen konnten. Zudem hat uns das Frühstücksangebot nicht überzeugt. Insgesamt konnten wir die schöne Anlage wegen der vielen Mücken leider nicht so geniessen, wie wir es uns gewünscht hätten.

Fine omgivelser, rent, veldig god mat og service. Personalet var hyggelige og hjelpsomme.

Everything about our stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful throughout, nothing was too much trouble. The whole property was spotlessly clean. The bed and bedding were premium quality, genuinely some of the most comfortable we've slept in. And the setting is something else: the views and the grounds are absolutely stunning. A wonderful place to stay in Habarana.

Hoher Standard in allen Bereichen: -Wunderschöne, saubere Zimmer mit bequemen Betten; Klimaanlage war nicht zu laut; duftende Kosmetikartikel passend zu singhalesischen Gewürzen -Ambiente zum Herunterfahren, gepflegte Anlage -proaktive Mitarbeiter; auch besondere Wünsche wurden berücksichtigt -Die singhalesische Küche im Restaurant war top! Wir wurden an unserem letzten Abend sogar mit einem romantischen Privatdinner überrascht!

Our room - really lovely. We were allowed an early check in, which was much appreciated. Delicious meals.

The woman who checked us in and out. She was not smiley, spoke very little English and appeared unable to deal with any of our questions. However the other staff were lovely.

It was a slice of heaven. I couldn't fault anything. One of the best places we've ever stayed in. The food, the room, the pool... everything was perfect and the staff were SO attentive. Everyone from the housekeeper to the chef all made our stay feel so special

Staff were extremely friendly but we were interrupted multiple times during meals. Probably needs a bit more training. Value for money is questionable compared to other similar establishments. No gym.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön! Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gepflegt, das ganze Hotelgelände wunderschön angelegt und es gibt viel zu erkunden in der Gegend. Das Essen und die Auswahl war spitze! Auch der Service war sehr gut! Alle waren super freundlich und haben uns viel von der Kultur, der Gegend oder dem Essen erzählt. Der Zimmerservice war auch spitze, hier wurde an jede Kleinigkeit gedacht. Es war so schön, dass wir verlängert haben:) wirklich ausgesprochen gutes Personal!

Everything about this place met or exceeded expectations. The property is exceptionally clean and comfortable, the staff are amazing and very responsive and friendly. Tours organised through the property are well priced and a lot of fun.

Air con is a little weak but the fan is so amazing we didn’t even need it. Otherwise literally nothing.

The whole property is absolutely beautiful, rooms are stunning and comfortable, breakfast and dinner are really great, and above all everyone is super nice and doing everything to make your stay nothing but exceptional. What a beautifully designed hotel, just outside Habarana. Very peaceful, the room was stunning with large balcony overlooking the paddy fields. The dining area & pool area fab. I used the spa too for a 2hr treatment & highly recommended. Staff so friendly & attentive & food great.

You could hear the traffic from the main road as our room closest but it was fine. Food I’d say was good to great, not outstanding but I had no complaints - it was a half board option & good choices for a 3 course meal.

Our third stay at a Taru Villas property. Madu and the team did a great job of looking after us - thank you! The room was lovely, and it was a nice touch that someone was ready and waiting with a torch to walk us to the restaurant on an evening. We spent some time by the pool and it was lovely to see staff come round asking if we wanted anything to eat or drink; I'd noticed that some past reviews mentioned that this didn't happen so it's nice to see that management read these reviews and take action to improve the customer experience.

The restaurant is average overall. The dinner menu is quite limited, with only around 5–6 items available. Breakfast is also offered à la carte with approximately 5–6 options. In terms of taste, the food is acceptable but fairly average

Very comfortable and clean bedrooms and friendly helpful staff. Located in countryside with native trees and vegetation around the grounds with visiting monkeys and many colourful resident birds. Well maintained swimming pool which was a welcome retreat.

Unfortunately the lodges are located close to a main road so the tranquil setting amongst the trees and grasses is compromised by constant traffic noise. Our main concern however was the quality of food at dinner. Whist breakfasts were excellent, the dinner menu was limited and the quality fell short of what one might expect in an establishment such as this. Starters and sweets were particularly uninspiring. The hotel’s policy of only offering wine by the whole bottle, rather than by the glass, was also irritating.

Beautiful, but high priced hotel in a good location

This hotel felt very special in several ways. The architecture and design is wonderful. It is inspired by the archaeological sites in the area and for us staying here brought some of that history alive. It has also been finished to a very high standard with quality materials and excellent lighting which gives the whole site a very calming atmosphere. The staff are incredible. They put a lot of work into maintaining the grounds, creating a lovely balance of nature and clean comfortable spaces. The food was the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka, especially the sea food and Sri Lankan dishes. The chefs were happy to make accommodations for people’s preferences. It’s a small hotel which I think meant the staff were able to be more attentive to each of the guests, which again felt very special. You can walk along the lake to a nearby cafe which serves good cocktails and food if you feel like venturing out. It is definitely a more tranquil and calm hotel so bear that in mind when booking.

As with most hotels there are some prettier bits of the landscaping and some areas that are more rugged. But this didn’t detract from the overall beauty of the site.

Super komunikatywny i pomocny personel - zarówno jeśli chodzi o organizację dodatkowych atrakcji czy masażu. Niesamowite miejsce pośród natury, cisza, spokój i czuć butikowy wymiar tego miejsca. Polecam na 1-2 noce. Dobre jedzenie, przepiękne duże pokoje. Naprawdę miejsce jest wyjątkowe w każdym tego słowa aspekcie.

Brakuje siłowni Małpy urządzają zawody w spychaniu się po dachu nad ranem i był straszny hałas, ale traktuje to jako "atrakcją dodatkowa" 😇

Hotel umożliwił nam wcześniejsze zameldowanie. Personel był niezwykle życzliwy i pomocny. Lokalne jedzenie w restauracji przepyszne. Pokój elegancko urządzony, przestronny. Generalnie cały obiekt magiczny. Polecamy z całego serca!

La estancia ha sido realmente increíble. El alojamiento es precioso, muy tranquilo, el personal súper amable y atentos en todo momento. El desayuno riquísimo y variado. Teníamos media pensión y las cenas las disfrutamos mucho por la excelente calidad de la comida. La piscina preciosa, la habitación muy grande, muy elegante y con la cama comodísima. Es un pequeño paraíso al que recomiendo visitar.

Todo! Es el mejor hotel de 5 estrellas que he estado. Desde la arquitectura del hotel hasta la atención. Es precioso.

Que no hubiera un gimnasio aunque fuera pequeño.

Hotel muy escondido en la carretera principal,pero increíble. Desde el exterior, no puedes hacerte una idea de lo que vas a encontrar dentro. El paisaje,el personal,la comida,la habitación, la piscina... No podrían haber sido mejores. Sin duda el mejor hotel de los que estuvimos en Sri Lanka ( y estuvimos en 10 ). Especial mención al gerente Dileesha que nos trató como si estuviéramos en casa, y a su chef Pradeep Niroshan qué nos hizo una cena exquisita e inolvidable. Pertenece a The Small leading hotels of the world, se respira paz , y las vistas desde la piscina y la terraza de la habitación, los estanques con peces de colores... maravillosos.

Nestled amongst nature lies the hidden sanctuary of Taru Villas Maia. Offering peace and tranquility, we all finally relaxed after a week of tours, frenetic travel and daily jaunts. The rooms have been carefully designed to allow for an immersion natural experience with the only sound being that of the wildlife and the rustle of leaves and trees in the cool air. An architectural delight complimented by the most hospitable team who take care of yourself every need. Delicious organic cuisine, thoughtfully prepared with daily curated delicious menus. Dileesha, Andrew Danial, Tharusha, Chef Pradip and Mahendra made us feel at home. Our only regret- why didn't we stay longer? You simply must stay here, perfectly placed for a sunrise hike to Sigiriya and an afternoon elephant safari. Truly memorable, thank you team Taru Villas Maia.

This is a very special place, I particularly enjoyed our second room that we were moved to, number 17. It was up on stilts and had a gorgeous balcony where we could admire so much wildlife and a huge variety of birds. The food was absolutely delicious and the chef very kindly shared one of his curry recipes with me. I’d like to mention especially Andrew who oversaw our stay with kindness and professionalism, and Thushara, whose warm smile and infectious good humour greeted us at the restaurant every day. The staff here all work so incredibly hard and you are always greeted with a genuine smile.

Perhaps a few more sunbeds and umbrellas at the pool and make chess available for guests!

July 2nd, 2025 Our stay at this beautiful resort has been truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by a sense of serene peace and warmth. The entire team went above and beyond to make us feel at home, with outstanding service and genuine kindness. The safari experience with our ranger from the hotel was a highlight we will cherish forever. Her knowledge, passion and care made it an extraordinary memory. We are also deeply grateful for the compassionate way the resort handled the sudden and heartbreaking passing of my father. Allowing us to adjust our travel plans without hesitation meant the world to us during such a difficult time. A little oasis away from the noise and dirt of the roads

An absolutely beautiful hotel that feels private, but not remote or too isolated.

A small luxury hotel of the world, this accomodation is nestled in nature - we loved seeing monkeys frolicking in the trees whilst we had our tea in bed in the morning (luxury loose leaf tea!). The shower in the room was one of the best we’ve ever had in a hotel! Relaxing bath too! Lovely pool area overlooking greenery and delicious food at the restaurant which even included palate cleansers at dinner. The staff were also there to guide you in the evenings to the restaurant and back which was such a nice touch (especially being in nature and we’d seen a few snakes about!). They also helped us book our elephant safari and we had a magical time - the driver expertly navigated the park and took us to spots with no other jeeps around.

One thing we thought was a bit shocking is that they didn’t sell any wines by the glass - you had to buy a bottle! There were no other alcoholic beverages sold by the glass other than beer. With such a luxury place you’d expect a gym but they didn’t appear to have one. We loved sitting by the pool but it would have been nice for the staff to come round occasionally to ask if we wanted a drink (we had to get up and go and find someone when we wanted a Coke etc). All quite nitpicky and overall we would definitely recommend Taru Villas!

ミネリヤサファリまで車で6分。まるでサファリのゴージャスなバンガローに宿泊した気分。クジャクの鳴き声が響き、自然に囲まれたプールも楽しめた。しかも、2食つき。本格的なフレンチでした。スタッフはみんな笑顔で挨拶してくれて、最高の休日でした。

Marvellous service. The staff really worked together . The only thing is ( as for whole of Sri Lanka ) the food has little or no spicy taste. We hav been surprised because we thought the influence from India would be greate.

We absolutely loved our stay at Taru Villas. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make our honeymoon stay special, including making us a delicous cake. The food was superb and we loved our stays.
