Sungreen Resort Habarana

The huge pool was wonderful, and it’s a lovely quiet place in natural surroundings. Peacocks, lizards, and other interesting wildlife is all around. We saw a hornbill from our balcony! The food was ok, though for variety it’s worth going out to some local places too. We got room service one night when we weren’t too hungry which was very convenient and tasty.

We had a wonderful stay. First and foremost, the staff was absolutely amazing - incredibly kind, helpful, and always willing to do everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the pool was perfect. The hotel is surrounded by nature and is very peaceful, which is ideal if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place.

The only downside was the cold shower and weak water pressure, although the staff did everything they could to help, including checking the system and offering alternative showers. Due to elephants in the area, leaving the hotel in the evening isn’t possible, so dinner has to be at the hotel. However, the menu is varied and reasonably priced.

En 1er lieu, le cadre est tout simplement magnifique. Le jardin luxuriant est très beau et extrèmement bien entretenu. La piscine est immense et très belle. Les logements sont spacieux et très confortables. Ce que nous avons par dessus tout apprécié dans cet hôtel est le service. Le personnel est vraiment aux petits soins et adorable, nous sommes restés 5 nuits et elles étaient mémorables. Merci à toute l'équipe pour ce magnifique séjour.

Juste un petit coup de fraicheur dans la salle de bain de la chambre , puis aussi dans la salle de sport serait bienvenu. Mais cela reste annecdotique.

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed here for 2 nights, but could have easily stayed for longer. The staff were welcoming, and very helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. The hotel grounds and pool were beautiful and well maintained. You can tell that there is a lot of care that goes in to this property. Our room was spacious, with a lovely view from the balcony. We were able to spot lots of wildlife around the hotel, including monkeys running through the pool area. This hotel is perfectly located for Minneriya safari, and sigriya.

Our room was clean and spacious with everything we needed.The staff were kind and helpful ,particularly Lahiru who helped us to organise cars for the whole trip.Amazing wildlife in the grounds of the hotel .Great food and tasty buffet. My children really enjoyed the pool because it was clean and warm.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive, we arrived about midnight and had been left some fruit and other food in the room after a long trip from the airport. The pool was huge and very quiet, we were allowed food and drinks by the pool which was nice. Our room was spacious and clean with a private balcony.

Camere grandi e spaziose (noi avevamo una familiare e i bambini avevano una stanza per loro). Bellissimo il giardino, che di sera viene illuminato da tantissime lucine. Staff cordiale e colazione a buffet con moltissima scelta.

The staff were very friendly, especially those in the restaurant and by the swimming pool. They were incredibly helpful and considerate, making our stay a truly enjoyable experience. They even helped us check the condition of our rental car and reminded us of the problem of the flat tire problem. There were also some dogs living at the hotel, and the staff took great care of them. They even regularly fed the squirrels and peacocks. Wonderful! Additionally, the front desk staff helped us book a fantastic jeep safari trip to the national park.

Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen. Onze dochter had een klein incidentje met de hond. Ze vonden dat zo vervelend waardoor we een upgrade van de kamer kregen. De kamer was netjes en lekker groot, niet brandschoon (onder de bedden best vies). Het ontbijt was vrij uitgebreid, voor water moest je bijbetalen. Zwembad was erg mooi en werd goed verzorgd. Kids mochten niet in het zwembad springen. Dagelijks werd gevraagd of we wilden dat de kamer werd schoongemaakt en werd er water op de kamer gebracht (op verzoek)

We hebben 2x was ingeleverd. Eerst een volle tas (ik denk ongeveer 6 kilo) daarna een minder volle tas. We waren hiervoor in totaal omgerekend 50 euro kwijt.

The swimming pool was incredible. The location was great. The food was good - a la carte. The staff went above and beyond to make it as comfortable as possible. Swim side ordering of drinks etc. We loved our stay! Remember with all hotels in sri lanka pack an eye mask!

Beautiful warm pool, good for kids, really liked it! Normal internet, food.

Personel sometimes wants to be as your family. No drinking water even if you have half board.

The grounds property garden were beautifully planted/vegetated. The eggs/omelette station was exceptional with bacon, pork sausages and eggs of any style. Several of the dining room staff demonstrated what appeared to be sincere curiosity about our experiences in Sri Lanka and our home.

The dining room buffet was poor. It contained cheap high starch things like bread, french fries, potatoes, pasta and pancakes to the relative exclusion of protein choices, hence the need for a breakfast omelette station. Supper was bad too. Also the salads were, we thought, substandard. I suspect the above was because most of the customers during our visit were on large tour buses and the hotel needed to feed a large group fast and cheaply.

Het is een heerlijk hotel waar je helemaal tot rust komt. Alles aan dit hotel klopt. Van de medewerkers tot het eten en de hotelkamers. Wij zaten eerst in een ander hotel in Habarana wat echt verschrikkelijk was. Omdat wij nog 2 nachten daar moesten verblijven heb ik direct in dit hotel een kamer geboekt. De general manager nam het direct op en wij kregen een upgrade in een fantastisch grote kamer met een aparte kamer voor onze zoon. De mensen hier hebben er voor gezorgd dat ik alle zorgen achter mij kon laten en hier op adem komen Als je in Habarana verblijft is er maar 1 hotel waar je moet zijn.

A wonderful resort with a beautiful pool and exceptionally friendly staff. It is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. We had a fantastic stay, and our two-year-old had an amazing time playing with the staff, who were incredibly kind and welcoming.

A sensational hotel in the most beautiful of settings. Ideal base if wanting to see the stunning sites in the Cultural Triangle. Felt as if we were on safari looking through the bedroom window! Stunning gardens and wonderful fountain topped pool! From the moment we arrived we were treated incredibly well, even a traditional welcoming ceremony. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. They all went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Lahiru the manager was always super helpful and kind and organised early breakfast bags for our early trips, he also made sure that our dietary needs as a Coeliac were absolutely catered for. Costa and Daiminda our waiters were so helpful, kind and reassuring, we felt so looked after. Aamith the lovely pool guy and gardener worked so hard, even shimmied up a tree to cut us a coconut and bless him, got up at 5am to carry our bags to reception! Thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel and its staff.

We had a fantastic stay at Sungreen Resort Habarana. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the pool was perfect for relaxing. The food was also delicious. Highly recommended for a peaceful vacation.

Propreté de la salle de bains vraiment à revoir, faïence très sale, joint de la douche moisi et orange de saleté. Nous avons eu des cafards dans la chambre… petit déjeuner en supplément et très cher, nous sommes allés déjeuner ailleurs.

Tout était parfait. Le personnel était au petit soin. Merci à l’operation manager avec qui nous avons échangé avant notre arrivée retardée à cause d’un train et qui nous a attendu et fait livrer le dinner dans notre chambre. Aussi, il s’est occupé de réserver notre scooter pour l’avoir clé en main dès le lendemain de notre arrivée tardive. Merci à Nimasha aussi à la réception pour son hospitalité et sa gentillesse.

It’s a very idyllic place and you can really relax there. Unfortunately, spa and wellness ( which is listed on booking) is currently not open but Mr. Lahiru went above and beyond to have it resolved in the most convenient way for us. All the staff makes you feel very welcome with their extraordinary behavior. I can recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax in the nature.

It was a great place to stay. We had a warm welcome by the drummer and the staff, lighting the lamp in the traditional way. The rooms were spacious, clean with comfi beds. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. In particular, Sulochana Disanayeka was very helpful and attentive. Nimasha the receptionist was very helpful too. They both went out of their way to help us. The laundry service was excellent, washed all our cloths at a very short notice. They really went out of their way that night to get it all done the next morning. Really appreciated the service. Breakfast was excellent.

Zu Beginn wollte man uns mehr als abgemacht berechnen. Kann natürlich ein Versehen gewesen sein. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung aber nicht wirklich abwechslungsreich.

La piscina e la posizione sono sicuramente i punti forti di questa struttura. Ristorante nella norma, niente di eccezionale. Personale super gentile

Das Hotel hat einen wunderschönen Garten mit einem großen, topgepflegten Pool. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß und hatte ein Zimmer mit Verbindungstür für die Tochter. Das Personal ist super freundlich

Der Kleiderschrank im Zimmer riecht nicht gut, ich wollte meine Sachen nicht hineinlegen. Das Essen in Büfettform besteht aus Sri Lanka Essen und westlichen Essen. Die sri lankesischen Speisen waren mir und meiner Tochter durchgehend zu scharf- ihre Qualität können wir nicht einschätzen. Die westlichen Gerichte sind vielfältig, aber oft ist das Fleisch zu trocken, die Pasta zu weich und die Gerichte auch die Salate haben zu viel Pfeffer. Ein tolles Dessertbüffett mit viel Obst 👍 aber Kuchen und Mousse sollten mehr nach den Früchten schmecken, die draufstehen.

Het hotel ligt net iets te ver buiten het stadje om 's avonds terug te lopen (in het donker). Je bent dan wel genoodzaakt om een Tuktuk te nemen, maar de kosten zijn laag.

Kamers waren schoon met vriendelijk personeel en het zwembad was heerlijk. Wij waren met privé chauffeur locatie was voor ons geen probleem. De wifi was niet top maar op vakantie wil ik toch minder op de telefoon bezig zijn dus voor ons ook geen probleem 😊

The breakfast was mid. Mostly, there were only rice options. I also saw a cobra in the garden.

Unforgettable stay! Amazing pool, spacious and spotless rooms – but the real magic is the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond with genuine warmth. They organized fantastic tours, threw a surprise birthday party for my wife with decorations and smiles all around – all at no extra cost. Excellent location for Cultural triangle (Sigirya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla). We stayed for 3 nights. Fabulous, huge pool, great food and comfy rooms. Thank you especially to Costa, Sulochana and Chef Sudarshana. Highly recommend.

The sunbeds need some cushions! We didn't stay around the pool much but they were rock hard wooden ones and not very comfy! The breakfast was adequate but it is so cheap to each out so we only had breakfast their once.

Service from most of the staff was polite and helpful.

When leaving, the hotel overcharged us for two extra meals, which we did not have (and clearly hadn't signed for). Once I returned, one of the staff members questioned my integrity and told me we did in fact have those extra meals. This accusation was false and made me feel uncomfortable. After some time calling other staff and going through the bills over and over again, they refunded me the amount. The same staff member then came running out to ask our driver whether he had stayed in our room, thinking that we hadn't paid for his stay. This was also not the case, and quite embarrassing for our driver (he stayed somewhere else). Regardless of how our stay was otherwise, this was an unpleasant end and it left a bad impression.

The location was good as it was not too far from the places we visited . Breakfast was very good . Staff were excellent . Met all our needs . Very pleasant and helpful .

Just loved this hotel, staff and the area. Could not fault it. Staff so helpful in reception, restaurant and manager. Lovely room, tasty foods - we are from the uk but love sri lankan cuisine. We organised our tours through hotel reception. Saw so many elephants at local safari. Sometimes you want to pick out certain staff excelling in their work - all work hard and strive well as a team.

The buffet was fine but tried to cater for western tastes too much. It was a shame that there was no other choice of food.
