It is our 5th visit. It is always amazing. Staff are lovely. We had an upgrade for our honeymoon, we were so grateful and overjoyed. Food at breakfast and dinner. Comfortable bed Excellent spa and staff Beautiful clean beach Fantastic pool Plenty of lounges
It is our favourite hotel and we reported a couple of things in order for them to keep their high reputation. The toilet was moving and making sounds. It was dealt with within half an hour. The balcony door kept sticking and a couple of times we felt we were stuck on the balcony. I wasn’t allowed to eat my own cashew nuts around the pool as they were not from the bar it was the first time we have ever been told this in 5 visits. There was a little green algae near swimming pool metal. Don’t judge this hotel on my dislikes as it is a tremendous hotel. But being honest so they can improve those issues.
All
Had the most amazing stay here! Staff are all super nice and friendly; the property is new and modern with great aesthetics. Half board is delicious, a lot of variety every day. Would strongly recommend the fine dining restaurant as well!!!
extremely high quality resort
Dinner buffet can be better
Struttura nuova e piacevole
We stayed at Amira Luxury Resort and Spa for two weeks and left with mixed feelings. The hotel is new and beautifully located right on the beach, but it lacks the true Cretan spirit. It is very quiet with limited entertainment, and the food misses the authentic Greek taste and experience we hoped for. The staff are kind and the hotel itself is well maintained, but for a five star resort it needs more warmth, atmosphere, and local charm. If you prefer a very calm and peaceful stay by the sea, this might still be your place.
The hotel was excellent, the room was smart with a very comforable bed, food was very good both at breakfast and evening meal, I couldn't fault the Amira with a very clean and tidy pool and beach area, also a mention to the attentative staff, all were very pleasent and couldn't be more helpful. Thanks for great holiday.
We had a really lovely stay at Amira Hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff who made check-in quick and seamless. The room with a seeview was bright and tidy, with thorough daily cleaning, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is a great base for exploring the area, with easy access to the beach and nearby local tavernas. Breakfast offered a nice selection, including Greek specialties and more classic options, so there was something for everyone. The common areas are well maintained, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The service deserves praise—the staff were quick to help with everything from recommendations to reservations. De dining was great with tema based buffe Greek, italian,Thai an so on. Do not miss the vine and olive tour. Looking at the oldest olivetree in the world >3000 year old. All in all, a well-kept hotel with warm, personal service, a good location, and good value for money. We would gladly return and can recommend Amira Hotel to both couples (adult only) looking for a relaxing base for their holiday on Crete.
Had a great time there, the staff was so friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. The rooms was lovely and really well cleaned daily. Had a gorgeous view of the beach. Had a brilliant holiday thank you so much!
Nice and friendly service, clean area and room, good jazzuci. The breakfest more than you can eat. Transportion easy, eighter taxi or buss outside the entrance.
Thank you for 14 lovely days at Amira Luxury Resort. As every time we visit the resort we have a wonderful holiday. Amira truly lives up to 5 stars and the standard and atmosphere is still top notch. It is a pleasure to be served by dedicated and professional staff throughout the hotel. Many thanks to all the staff and see you again in 2026. Ragna Maria and Gert Bach
The staff was very polite, helpfull and accommodating, but the breakfaststaff must take more time to their guests - doesn't take much time. Our room was tastefull, had plenty of space, and had a fantastic sea wiew. The pool area was very nice, but whitout showers, everyone goes into the pool with sweat and sunlotion, and that's... I think a five star area also should have discretly small cubicles/changing room in the pool area. The beach wasn't a five star beach. Fantastic kitchen with a teastfull menue for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our overall experience was therefor four plus, not five stars, and we would be happy to return to your hotel.
The design/architecture of the hotel is modern with clean lines and well layed out facilities from pools to private beach. A great welcome as you arrive, cases taken and greted with juices and fruit while the passports are taken and simple form completed. Overall, the cleanliness throughout could not be faulted, all areas were kept immaculate. Rooms are of adequate size with good storage, beds were very comfortable and the A/C and lighting controls made it easy to adjust the atmosphere. Rooms with sharing pool had more than adequate space to relax with chairs and sunbeds. The food was all well presented and of a high quality and variety both for the breakasts and the evening meal (personaly I would like to have seen a little more fish on offer). The staff were always curtious and helpful, however a few did not always look that happy in their work. The guest relations team were realy happy and helpful and offered good advice. Evening entertainment is difficult to satisfy all tastes, for me it did not work most nights. Location, slightly short of shops and tavernas close to the hotel, you have to walk some distance to the more central areas to get a variety of both. However, Rethymno, only a 15 min bus ride away, is an excellent town to visit for many reasons. Will I return. I am sure one day I will again travel to Crete and will almost certainly choose Amira. Thanks for a great holiday.
Suites not recommended in September - no sun whole day long (north-sided); private pool not private and icy cold. Really clean place, friendly staff (but some of them always argueing in front of guests); beautiful interior, good service with complaints; Food was not luxury, but very "british" (mint, mint, mint), soups yuck, nothing real special.
The location was very convenient. Just outside of Rethymno, bus stop right outside the hotel. Perfect base from which to explore other parts of the Island. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They could not do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble
What a beautiful hotel lovely friendly staff with all modern rooms. The food was outstanding and all the facilities were immaculate. I would highly recommend this resort.
The staff provided exceptional service, demonstrating friendliness and attentiveness. The culinary offerings were delightful, with the Almira à la carte restaurant standing out. We highly recommend this destination for those seeking a relaxing holiday experience, complemented by stunning sea and pool views. The spa treatments were also of a high standard. We anticipate a return visit.
Driven by Kazantzakis' inspiration for Crete we found an oasis of leisure, quality and respect for tourists! Cleanliness, best food and staff! We will defintely come back!
Our experience at amira for our honeymoon was incredible, the staff were very accommodating until it came time to check out. We had asked if it was possible to keep the room later and pay the day before checkout. In which I kept being told to come back wich is fine. I then go back and they say they can give me a different room (our flight wasn't till 11pm) so I said yes. I go to the reception the next morning to checkout and it was a disaster. I was being told the hotel was fully booked and there were no rooms, the women told me I didn't confirm I wanted the other room, which I had told a diffrent reception staff I did. Eventually we got the room but the women was very hostile towards us. They had also tried to charge us a fortune for spa treatments on different days. I had one spa treatment on one day which we paid for at the spa. We showed her our bank account to show we had paid and she said it was so much more money ect. I told her I wasn't even in the spa those days. She had continued to not believe us and that the spa always sends notes when someone has paid. She eventually got the paperwork showing what day I was in the spa and took it off the final bill. We did not get an apology or anything. Im very saddened as this was our honeymoon, we were going to come back for our one year anniversary but that experience has completely ruined it for us.
Everything was perfect! The food was very good and changed every day, the staff was always very kind and made us feel welcome, the room was very clean and big enough and the location is perfect. It's a very peaceful place with an amazing pool with seaview. We will be back!!
Quiet, not to big, not to small, excellent food, great staff
No complaints
Sehr aufmerksamer Service , sehr freundlich Top !!
Fab resort spotlessly clean staff very friendly with excellent service. Breakfasts excellent and evening meals good too although vegetarians might find the food samey; lots of fresh veg with little thought given to a balanced diet.
It was another delightful holiday at this 5-star luxury hotel. Special mention must go to the efficiency of the staff at the Nissos main restaurant, as well as at the beach, who provided efficient and friendly service in the face of a fully-booked hotel. New this year were also the hotel’s own sushi chef, as well as theme nights including Greek and Cretan nights with a professional musician, which we especially enjoyed.
Excellent facilities, location near the beach. Swimming at sea was however quite challenging due to underwater rocks and stones in the rough wave conditions, with frequent lifeguard whistles and red flags most of the time. A nice pool provided an alternative to sea swimming. In both cases, plenty of free sun beds were provided. First-class breakfast and restaurant menu, and the staff were vere friendly and helpful.
This is the perfect hotel! Pros - the swim up room, absolutely stunning! - room itself is clean, spacious and modern! - comfy pillows! - the hotel itself it’s beautiful, so clean and modern interior. - food is excellent! - drink prices and snack bar are of good quality and good price. - plenty of sun loungers, and good quality beach towels. - not too far from other restaurants and bars. Cons - wish all inclusive could be provided. This was my favourite Greek stay, so far! I have recommended this to family and friends and wish to return one day! Have the swim up room, it’s 100% worth the extra price.
Amazing resort with great staff. High attention to details
The best hotel you could wish for, in Crete and beyond. Spacious rooms, impeccable cleanliness, but above all, an exceptional staff at every level. A place where smiles and customer service reign supreme, where the quality of service truly makes the difference. Excellent dining and bar services, a splendid pool, and a spectacular beach with daily sunset views. Plus, free parking, a high-end on-site spa offering a wide variety of treatments, a comfortable and well-equipped gym, all in a strategic location on the island, making it easy to rent a car nearby and explore anywhere you want from north to south. Congratulations, I hope to return!
As guests from 12.08 to 17.08 we receveid the best care you can hope on holiday. Every employee gave us smiles and professional services. Simply We would like to Thank You! Emanuele e Sara
Beautiful adults only hotel, excellent staff and the food was amazing. Near Rethymnon so excellent location. Swim-up rooms if prefered.
Excellent resort from all perspectives. We stayed in an executive suite on the seafront with a private pool. This suite delivered all what was promised and even more: a personal wellcome by a hostess, with different wellcome drinks and a large fresh fruit platter; privacy, cleanliness, roomy spaces, 2 bathrooms and all this fully equipped . To the suite belonged an idividual beach tent with 2 comfortable sun beds, 2 beach seats a table and free towels. Every day free water and large fresh fruit platter were served. The restaurants are from a superior level. Each and every dish was better than what we have eaten in other restaurants during our excursions on the Island. And this goes even for the buffet restaurant. Breakfast was oppulent and with an extreme variety of choices. And last but not least: the staff was extremely kind, friendly and helpfull ! In short: Amira offers a Hospitality with high class! Very recommendable!
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. When we arrived, they upgraded us to a beter suite, which was a big surprise. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making me feel at home. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, which had a great variety and fresh options. The location was perfect, close to everything I wanted to see and do. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
This was my second time at Amira resort. I came back because I had a very good experience. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing place - this is it. The resort design very well, the infinity pool is pamper and clean. The location is good with an excess to the private beach, The staff are very nice and helpful, food is great too. Coins: It’s far away from the airport, an hour driving with a private taxi
Lo
The best hotel with the best staff. Worldclass service! We would like to give our housekeeping lady one extra star ⭐️ Great breakfast with a lot of choises
First of all, thank you to the entire Amira team. We have stayed in many 5* hotels in Greece and never experienced such fantastic service! Pros: - Team - Service - Food (breakfast and a la carte lunch/dinner all excellent!) - Rooms (new, clean, beautiful, good beds) - stunning View (we had a frontal sea view room with balcony)
This stay would have been a 10/10 if it wasn‘t for the beach, which was a huge minus. The beach is dark sand in the area with the sunbeds however in the water it is all STONE. If we do a summer holiday we spend every day at the beach and this is extremely inconvenient. During our stay 5 out of 10 days were windy with waves and it was forbidden to swim in the sea. With the waves and stone ground it is obviously dangerous and we understand, but with a sand beach you would have never have to disallow swimming based on a little wind.
Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff, in all areas: reception, dining, bars, cleaners. The food was excellent quality, plenty of variety, lovely presentation, all to a very high standard. Facilities were excellent throughout the hotel, our room had everything you could possibly need; the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a most enjoyable, relaxing stay and would highly recommend.
The hotel's advantages include daily cleaning, clean territory, and polite staff. Of the minuses the territory is very small, in the photo it looks more voluminous; there is no stage for concerts, all events take place only at a small bar by the beach, where only one waiter and one bartender work, so you have to wait 40 minutes for your order to be taken and at least the same amount of time for your cocktail to be brought to you. there is no prosecco treat at breakfast, as is usually the case in high-quality hotels with a 5* rating, the sea was also disappointing, in addition to the fact that the sea is not cleared of slabs, you can easily get hurt, there is a constant storm at sea, a red flag is flying, so swimming is prohibited. staying on vacation with a high price in this hotel for 11 days brought only great disappointment with a minimum of pleasure. the price does not match the quality!
If was a memorable 10 days at Amira hotel. You simply got it all: accommodation, beach, pool, facilities, food and the most important people. Ioanna, Maria, Charis, Kostas and all the others together with the hotel manager Stelios did it all to make us feel wonderful. Thank you! Vladimir & Žana
We stayed here for seven days. This property is amazing. The staff is incredible and the food is delicious. There’s nothing more we could’ve asked for amazing place to stay highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful propery, rooms, views and clean
Beautiful hotel, warm welcome, good service, best food & top location
The best holiday we ever had!
Super luxurious; super clean; elegant; modern; clean
The surroundings
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff was warm and welcoming, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We also appreciated the addition of new services like the pillow menu – even though we didn’t use it, it’s a thoughtful touch. Overall, a great experience, and we’d be happy to return!
Beautiful property and excellent staff. Will stay there again, absolutely wonderful resort!
We usually go self catering when we holiday, but decided this time to do a hotel. Didn't regret it - what a fabulous experience. Amazing value, fantastic food, professional and friendly staff. Room was lovely with great tech (once we figured out all the switched!) The only criticism, common in many places, was guests reserving sun beds by the pool with towels. They claimed to not allow this but nobody was enforcing it.
It was really amazing, great hotel. Very clean, very well organized & very friendly and helpful staff. We didn't want to leave.
Great location with excellent food
There was so much we loved about this beautiful hotel, from the welcome drink to the staff who worked so hard keeping the grounds so spotlessly clean, our lovely room with a fantastic sea view, to the wonderful anniversary meal we had at ALMYRA restaurant and the way the staff went above and beyond to make our evening so special. It was almost a perfect…almost. We had a bizarre experience on our first day, after lounging on the beach all morning, we decided to get a drink and explore the grounds. When we returned after around 45 minutes, we had been turfed off our beds, our belongings had been removed from our sun loungers, and other guests were in our place. When we spoke to the beach attendants we were informed we had 30 minutes away from our beds before being allocated to someone else! While I do not agree with guests reserving sun-beds, this hotel took that rule to the extreme! We spoke to the Pool manager, who I have to say was the most arrogant and disrespectful man, and his abrupt manner lets this beautiful hotel down. Although we spoke with the lovey ladies on guest services and the hotel management, and they tried to resolve this for us, this behaviour continued throughout our holiday, We had to tell the pool waiters, whenever we moved away from our loungers, only to be questioned about where we were going and informing us we had 30 minutes to return. We were prisoners, not guests. What was even more confusing, this rule seemed only to apply to us, as we watched other guests appear to come and go as they pleased, without question. The only explanation we were given was if the beach area was busy, they simply give the bed to someone else. May I suggest the hotel invest in more sun loungers, rather making their guests feel like they cannot even go for a leisurely walk! Thank you to the wonderful staff that did contribute to us having a wonderful holiday despite the baffling behaviour we experienced on the beach.
What an amazing hotel! First thing to mention is the sunsets which are amazing. We stayed in one of the seafront suites with a private pool and the room was perfect. With this room type you also get a private cabana on the beach, which was great for us, as we are rarely up early enough to get a good spot at the pool. We were out in Rethymnon most nights, but did have dinner at the Almyra restaurant on one evening. The food was really good and such a good vibe watching the sunset on the terrace. There’s entertainment on each evening, usually a percussion and singer combo 9pm to 11pm. The hotel is immaculately clean and most importantly the service we received throughout our stay was faultless. In terms of location there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around the hotel. It’s approx a 10 min taxi into the centre of Rethymnon which costs about €15. Rethymnon is a beautiful city and this hotel is the perfect place to stay to enjoy it. Very highly recommended!
From arrival, the Greeting from the taxi was very warm and extremely welcoming very easy check in with explanation of the hotel, we were taken to our junior suite room which had the most fabulous sea view, Room was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble for any member of staff to make our trip memorable. We were half board, every day the dinner did not disappoint, so many options . The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The pool was great to cool off with jacuzzi sunbeds in the pool which I have never seen before. A fabulous hotel which is Adult Only , that made it very relaxing. We will return to this very relaxing hotel
This hotel was just what myself and husband were looking for, total peace and relaxation, which we received due to the ambiance atmosphere of the place. The hotel is spotless clean and I observed the cleaning staff who worked to a very high standard,as did all the staff working in different positions within the hotel they really do there job well and have top class customer service skills.the food is of great variety and plentiful to choose from, the deserts were just the best and presented beautifully, this is a suggestion NOT a complaint..the breakfast coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice should be shelf service, sometimes myself and husband were nearly finished our breakfast before the waitress came and asked us, or more waiting staff on in the breakfast service.there is not much to do in the surrounding area outside we took a day trip to the mountain villages which was superb, and two trips into town and the rest just relaxing and recharging, while I was there it was my birthday I came back to the room to a delicious chocolate cake and some sparkling wine which was a lovely gesture,I will definitely be returning to this peaceful resort in the near future.
The hotel was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel and grounds are kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and order. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because of the food. In my opinion it was 3 star at best. Food was cooked at the stations but was then placed in dishes at the back of the servery where it became tepid before it replenished the almost empty self service dishes, too few staff didn't help the situation.
Note to self: Never stay at a hotel that has the the word"Luxury" in the name of the hotel. Luxury should be selfevident and implicit. A hotel experience is a myriad of a thousand details - this place falls woefully short in all crucial aspects, and for the experienced traveller, accustomed to the organisation LHW, and chains such as Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons - this hotel is worlds apart. To mention but a little bit: - The staff, and it is all about the people, are but for a few, far too few, shining exceptions, uninterested in the guests, and much happier chatting with each other, standing around, doing nothing, while ignoring the guests. Interactions are rude, brash, dismissive and lacking in intuition, smiles and warmth - I saw this also in the staffs interaction with most other guests. Some staff seem apprehensive, fearful and intimidated, "you are not allowed to take the plate with you, you will get me in trouble" - this has to be because of management ? - All things practical/technical/functional are well below par. - The food is uninspired and bland, not even mediocre. - The location is awful. The sun rises in the east, behind the hotel, it sets in the west, again behind the hotel, leaving 95 % of room balconies sun-deprived throughout the day. - The beach is not very inviting. - I see in previous reviews that it is considered, by some, too upscale, when it comes to the dress code, this is not true at all. Trashy clothing, for many other guests, is the right designation. This is a standard run of the mill 5 star hotel - they have checked of all the boxes, what needs to be there, to formally achieve the 5 stars - but the content is not there.
Location is good , there’s a small village a ten minute walk away and there’s a bus to the town which takes about 20 minutes. Worth the visit but the return can be chaotic as there’s one bus stop for all bus routes so be prepared for a jumble of people all queuing for multiple buses. Point to note this is where there is the only public toilet in town. Hotel and rooms. - immaculately clean throughout Swimming pools - again immaculately clean but freezing cold, lots of sun beds. Restaurants- Buffet main restaurant for Breakfast and dinner Buffet breakfast - good selection of hot and cold but query why there is not fresh pineapple. Only serves tinned ( is that 5 star?) Buffet lunch - not open Buffet evening - seems like they cook all the food for when the restaurant opens and then leave it warming in/on hot plates for the remainder of the service which means after 8.15 there’s a lot of mushy overcooked food which gets worse as the evening goes on. Also although the restaurant says it stays open til 9.30 that’s the time it closes for food so don’t expect to arrive at 9.15 and enjoy a relaxing meal as everything is hurriedly packed away at 9.30. Credit though to the cold starters and deserts both were totally edible and enjoyable. A la carte restaurant - evening meal - you have to pay more for but well worth the expense. Good food that’s cooked fresh when you order it (as it should be) And, it’s open till 11 pm . Poolside eatery - good quality food freshly cooked. Wines are of good quality and reasonably priced. Water expensive in the buffet restaurant and even more so for branded Italian water in the a la carte. Entertainment - non existent, the hotel do have guest musicians attend a few nights a week but there’s no atmosphere so nobody stays to listen to them. SO WHY ONLY 4 STARS ? The buffet evening restaurant is a massive let down this is a best 3 star food, by 9 pm it could drop a further star some nights. Serving overcooked either dried out or mushy food is unacceptable. I would recommend budgeting for paying the extra cost of eating in the a la Carte every night if you want a quality experience . Overall a peaceful and relaxing experience pity about the food.
Booked Amira with my partner, and we are still here, check out this Friday. Upon arrival at 1am, we were told that we are probably hungry, everywhere is closed, so 2 freshly made and plated chicken wraps have been put in our fridge, that was the friendliest welcome we have had. All the staff here are of very high standard and very friendly, they come across very genuine and friendly. The resort does an excellent job at putting different cuisines on every night, and I would recommend booking half board. I honestly can't say enough good stuff about Amira and would come here again and would recommend to all. I was very proud after visiting rethymno and chania to come back to this hotel, very proud to walk through the doors everyday and say I am staying here. So thanks again to all Amira staff, an excellent memorable experience.
As soon as we arrived to the moment we left it felt like a true 5* hotel. We arrived at midnight but the welcome was truly wonderful and taken to our room. The rooms were of very high quality, kept in pristine condition and extremely clean with a fantastic outlook over the sea. The same could be said for the entire hotel, absolutely spotless and kept in new condition everywhere you go. The attention to detail was amazing. It was also refreshing to visit a hotel where the staff were all genuinely so happy and genuinely wanted to provide a great experience. Hospitality was 10/10. The food for breakfast and dinner was also very good quality with a good selection / variety each day. There is secure parking for the hotel across the road as well if you decide to rent a car like we did, which allows you to explore lots on the island. Overall the hotel exceeded expectations (which were already high based on the reviews) and would highly recommend!
We have just returned from a girls family holiday at this fantastic hotel. We were thrilled to get an upgrade and have sea front rooms which were stunning. We had an incredible week and I can honestly say the staff, without exception, were the best I have ever come across. Every staff member went the extra mile to ensure the guests are given the best experience. The food offer was fantastic - both the breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent and the A La Carte restaurants were extremely good. The Italian Pasta evening food at Kritamo was exceptional. Eleni, our housekeeper, was really kind and did a great job. The resort was spotless. We loved the beach and spent most days there apart from a couple of visits to Rethymno which is a lovely town. All in all we had a wonderful week and will definitely return. Thank you.
The hotel is very new and appropriately equipped and furnished. The cleanliness and service around the pool area, beach area and the rooms are very good and to full satisfaction. Excellent direct access to the beach with the provision of loungers. Towels for the loungers are available on the beach. Excellent the tiled floor around the pool area, even when wet, they are not slippery. The pool itself is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was rich, perhaps a bit excessive. The guest service for breakfast ist very good! <Labrini> was an excellent host for the breakfast recommendations, she should receive a bonus for 2024. Food at the beach bistro is very good and differentiated for every taste.
We observed a number of opportunities for improvement to make things better for future guests: - it would be great, if pool, restaurant, bistro hours could be addressed via signs (they are online, but who carries the mobile all the time) - there is the recommendation to take a shower for entering the pool. However, the nearest shower is near the beach or you must enter the building with a sloped path for taking a shower. It would be great if there is a shower near the pool entrance. - Smoking - is permitted everywhere, every lounger has an ash tray, people not in favor of smoking feel extremely uncomfortable. Actually under the present situation it is a - no go - for our return visit. Amira is an 5 star adult beach resort, where the health and relaxation of the customer should have priority. I would expect at least a separation of no-smoking and smoking areas at the pool and bar bistro area. Booking a non-smoking room does not prevent of smoke entering the room from partnering rooms or balconies. It appears somewhat a chimney effect. If you leave your balcony door open, you receiving a smoke flush during night and day. Proposal: Declare the resort as an adult smoking only resort. - Pool water depth - the pool is nice for some refreshing, but if your desire is in a little more sport style swimming you end up in a depth range from 140-68cm deep water. I don't know the intention of the pool architecture, but it is definitely not for basic sport enthusiasts. Im sure the hotel performs high maintenance effort for pool. The lower rating of the resort is mainly due to the last two chapters.
Generally a very welcoming environment with excellent staff
The beach, whilst quite sandy, was very stony, to the extent that we went out to buy beach shoes to access the sea.
- The hotel facilities are very good - pools, beach, etc. Everything is beautiful and you can see they really take good care of everything. - The food in the buffet restaurant was good, with a lot of options for breakfast and dinner. - Our room (with jacuzzi) was also nice - very clean, nice decoration, and comfortable beds. - The beach is pretty and, on lucky days, the water is super clean and calm.
Room: 1) It was close to the road, so we could hear the noise from it - the door of our room wasn't really soundproof. 2) On a few days, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet. The staff fixed it, but I believe this is the sort of thing that shouldn't happen in a 5 star hotel. Food and drinks from the pool bar: 3) Honestly, worst cocktails I had in my life. Basically no alcohol in it, and just sugar. The food (sandwiches, snacks) was barely ok...for the price you pay, I was really expecting higher standards. Service: 4) Generally, everyone was cordial and a few people in the main restaurant were very very nice! However, one afternoon we were sleeping in our room and the phone rang twice and then when we picked up someone hang up. We called the reception to see what was this about, and they gave a weird excuse that they wanted to check if our stay was going well...this was very weird. 5) They have an app, and there's an option there to reach the staff via WhatsApp. We sent a message asking something, and we never had a response. Other: 6) The parking lot was a bit far from the hotel, and the way there was quite a dark small street full of garbage. 7) There's not much to do in the surroundings of the hotel - a few small shops and a few okish restaurants. Our objective was to stay mostly in the hotel, so this wasn't really an issue. But I think it's important to flag.
good breakfast
