Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet, schön eingerichtet und haben einen Kühlschrank. Wir haben All inklusive gebucht: Das Essen war sowohl zum Frühstück, als auch mittags und natürlich auch abends sehr vielfältig, frisch und immer lecker. Die Getränke wurden durchgängig serviert bzw. konnte man sich an den jeweiligen Bars zu jeder Zeit Getränke holen. Der im All inklusive Paket servierte Weiß-Wein war ein lokaler Flaschen-Wein von hoher Qualität, er wurde sowohl zu den Essen als auch an den Bars serviert. Auch das Bier und andere Getränke sind gut bzw. sehr gut. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer: es gibt einen wunderbaren Pool (mit vielen Liegen) und direkt dahinter Zugang zum Meer mit weiteren Liegen. Pro Person erhält man ein Handtuch, welches man für den Pool und Strandbereich nutzen kann => das Reservieren der Liegen wird hiermit optimiert, so dass jeder Gast nur einen Platz reservieren kann und nicht parallel mehrere: Zudem hat das Hotel Anweisungen bzgl. der Liegen-Reservierungen ausgehängt. In der Regel gibt es kein "Liegenproblem", da jedem Gast eine Liege am Pool zur Verfügung steht (da dies nicht immer oder eher selten der Fall ist, möchte ich es hier explizit erwähnen). Direkt vor dem Hotel startet die Einkaufspromenade, inkl Mini-Supermarkt, Kleidung und vielen, kleinen aber schönen Geschäften. Mir hat das Hotel sehr gut gefallen, insbesondere weil das Personal sehr engagiert und freundlich ist.

An der Strandbar werden teilweise noch Plastikbecher benutzt: Dies will das Hotelmanagement abschaffen und ergreift bereits aktiv Maßnahmen zur Optimierung.

We had an incredible week at Rethymno Palace celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the fantastic Reception Team made us feel incredibly welcome. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and provided valuable information. Our room was simply lovely with a stunning view of the pool and sea. The welcome gift was a lovely touch and the housekeeping team did an amazing job keeping the room spotless every day. Every area of the hotel was immaculate and the pool and beach were beautiful and incredibly relaxing. Hotel is in a great location about 1hr from Heraklion and well worth the bus trip into Rethmyno which was beautiful. However, the standout feature of our stay was the amazing staff. They were always welcoming and incredibly helpful. A special mention goes to Venizelos, Anissa and Konstantinos, who were a joy and made our stay extra special. Ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ

We didn’t find anything we disliked but one suggestion to enhance the experience would be to offer dinner at the beach bar. It’s a stunning location perfect for enjoying a sunset meal.

Amazing stay!!! Totally recommend it !!! This hotel was our last one for our beautiful trip in Crete and it was the best choice for that as we got to see the best sunsets by the beach and relaxed on the super comfortable rooms. In the room you could find everything you need and it was very clean also we had a welcome wine for us! It felt like the best goodbye and we would love to come back for more days next time! Lovely people working there and everyone was so welcoming!! Totally loved it!

The hotel was wonderful, with a lovely atmosphere and great music by the pool. The food was delicious, and most importantly, everything was very clean, both in the room and around the pool. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive, especially the hotel manager, who made us feel truly welcome. The location is also great — it’s close to the city of Rethymno, with tavernas and shops nearby. Thank you, Rethymno Palace, for your wonderful hospitality! We truly enjoyed our stay. ❤️

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. The location is very poor, especially for anyone who wants to enjoy the sea. The beach is covered with very large stones, making it almost impossible to swim, which basically forces guests to use the pool. For a hotel like this, having such an unusable sea was a huge disappointment. If spending time in the sea is important to you, I would definitely not recommend this hotel. The food selection is also extremely limited for the price you pay. During meal times, you cannot even get your own drinks — everything has to be brought by the waiters. Since they clearly cannot serve every table on time, you are lucky if your cola arrives before you have finished your meal. 😏😒 Is this really what an all-inclusive hotel experience is supposed to be? I would also like to mention the staff in the spa area. Unfortunately, we experienced such a rude and disrespectful attitude from the staff that we felt extremely uncomfortable. After that experience, we never used the spa again. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not choose this hotel again.

Non è un albergo a 5 stelle, sarebbe un 3+. Pessimo buffet per essere un albergo a 5 stelle (scadente e ripetitivo). Non c’è distinzione tra adulti e minorenni riguardo ai bracciali all‑inclusive.

Ne-a plăcut foarte mult această proprietate datorită atmosferei plăcute, curățeniei și confortului oferit. Locația este foarte bună, iar totul este bine organizat și îngrijit. Ne-am simțit foarte bine pe toată durata șederii și am apreciat în mod special atenția la detalii și liniștea. Cu siguranță am reveni cu drag și am recomanda proprietatea și altor persoane.

La estancia no cumplió nuestras expectativas, por lo que nos resulta difícil destacar aspectos positivos.

La experiencia no estuvo a la altura de lo que esperábamos de un hotel de 5 estrellas. El establecimiento se percibe bastante antiguo y tanto las instalaciones como las habitaciones necesitarían una actualización y un mejor mantenimiento. Durante nuestra estancia, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba correctamente, lo que afectó bastante al confort. Además, nos sorprendió que algunos servicios que consideramos básicos en un hotel de esta categoría supusieran un coste adicional, como el uso de la caja fuerte, que se cobra por día. Para utilizar las toallas de la piscina también era necesario dejar un depósito por cada toalla, algo que nos pareció poco acorde con la categoría del establecimiento. Por otro lado, el horario del desayuno, hasta las 10:00 h, nos pareció demasiado limitado, especialmente tratándose de un hotel de 5 estrellas. En definitiva, consideramos que la relación entre la categoría anunciada y los servicios e instalaciones ofrecidos no se corresponde con lo que esperábamos de un 5 estrellas.

The staff

They present them selfs as a 5 stars hotel but it is not more than maximum 3 stars and also this I’m not sure. Very old furniture and very old bad sheets, so old that it looks not clean, bad smell in the room. The matras in the pool in very old snd dirty. We received a tawel pool so old that they were ripped.

My favourite part of our stay at this hotel was, without a doubt, the staff. After just a couple of days, it felt like genuine friendships were being made. They also remembered our usual orders and preferences and always made us feel seen and cared for. You can truly feel that there’s a hardworking team behind this hotel, genuinely committed to making every guest’s stay as pleasant as possible.

The very large and sea view room with jacuzzi on the terrace, the kindness of the majority of the staff and same of the plates of the buffet dinner menu (excellent soups, large choice of fruits, very good cakes)

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. We especially enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the swimming pools, the food, and the beautiful location. Everything was well organized, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay.

We had such a lovely stay at this hotel! The whole place is very accommodating, and every member of staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were refreshing and delicious, especially at the beach bar – definitely worth trying! The manager always seemed to be around, making sure everything was running smoothly and checking that guests were happy, which was really nice to see. The beach is literally less than a minute’s walk from the bar, making it super convenient to go back and forth. The swimming pool is a good size, and we really enjoyed the morning aqua gym sessions. We stayed with my partner, our baby daughter, and other relatives, and had a fantastic family holiday. The buffet offered a great variety of food every day, with plenty of salads, sweets, fresh fruit, and something for everyone. It’s a shame I can’t mention every single staff member by name because they all deserve recognition. They were amazing with our daughter, and by the second day they were already calling her by her name, which made us feel so welcome and cared for. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly holiday. We had a wonderful time and would happily come back!

Our overall impression is that this hotel does not live up to its 5-star rating. In our opinion, 3 stars would be a more realistic rating. The hotel is quite old, but we have to give credit where it’s due — everything was clean and well maintained in terms of hygiene. The staff was also very friendly, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was quite average, and the breakfast was rather disappointing. Overall, the entire experience felt very average. This would not necessarily be a problem if the hotel were advertised as a 3-star property, but for a 5-star hotel, we expected a significantly higher standard. We didn’t use the pool because it was extremely crowded during our stay. Overall, the hotel is clean and the staff is excellent, but the quality and overall experience simply do not match what we would expect from a 5-star hotel.

Το ξενοδοχείο αυτο σου βγάζει πολυ friendly vibes, μονο από τους χώρους που διαθέτει και το πόσο καλα τους εχει αξιοποιήσει. Ο λογος που το επελεξα ηταν οτι ηταν ακριβως λιγα μετρα απο την παραλια, διεθετε χωρους για γυμναστικη και πολυ ωραια πισινα και ολα αυτα πολυ κοντα το ενα με το αλλο. Μου άρεσε παρα πολυ ποσο εξυπηρετικοτατο ηταν το προσωπικό τους, απο την διευθυνση, την γραμματεία εως και τις κοπελες που συγύριζαν τα δωμάτια. Το δωμάτιο μου το βρήκα σε άριστη κατάσταση και ηταν πολυ καθαρό. Επισης κατι που θεωρώ απο τα πιο σημαντικά ειναι το ποσό ήσυχα ειναι το βράδυ για να κοιμηθείς και πραγματικα σε αυτο παίρνει άριστα.

Fantastic spa massage by Hasmik and Stella!

We stayed in a sea-view room and woke up to Cretan Sea views. All meals at the buffet were fresh local fare, and the hotel’s own beach access saved us the walk with the baby. Staff knew the island well and made specific restaurant recommendations that actually made a difference. Andreas and his team greeted us by name each morning and actually asked about our plans with genuine interest. It really felt like staying at someone’s well-run property. This is where we’d stay again when we return to Crete!

The standout feature of Rethymno Palace is undoubtedly the staff, who were consistently friendly, welcoming, and eager to help throughout our stay. Their professionalism and positive attitude made a genuine difference to our holiday. The hotel has good facilities, a pleasant atmosphere, and good location 15 minutes drive from the town. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the effort of the team in making guests feel welcome.

There are several areas where improvements could help the hotel better reflect its 5-star rating. On arrival, the room was very hot, making it difficult to sleep, particularly for guests arriving late. Cooling rooms before guest arrival would create a much better first impression. I was also surprised that guests are required to pay extra for the room safe and certain activities such as air hockey, as these would typically be included at a 5-star property. The food was the weakest aspect of our stay. While there was generally a reasonable selection available, many dishes lacked flavour and did not reflect the high culinary standards that Crete is known for. Some ingredients appeared to be of lower quality than expected, and items such as the olives were hard and lacked freshness. The late-night buffet was particularly disappointing, offering limited choice and portions. Guests with specific dietary requirements may also find the options restrictive, with very few clearly identifiable halal-friendly choices available. The hotel could also benefit from providing more entertainment and activities for families and children. Around the pool, music was sometimes played too loudly, which affected the atmosphere. Finally, the beach area could be made safer and more accessible through the addition of a boardwalk and improved access points to the sea.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The highlight of our experience was definitely the staff. The service was among the best we’ve ever received. everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. The hotel was spotless and very well maintained. While it may not be the newest hotel, everything was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. We really enjoyed the breakfast, the spa, and the pool area. Having the beach right next to the hotel and a pool bar overlooking the sea made every evening special, we ended each day with a drink while watching the sunset. It was also clear that the hotel is constantly looking for ways to improve, with activities for guests and great attention to detail. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money, outstanding service, and a relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

It would be great if there was a restaurant that guests that didn’t take the all inclusive could order some food but we were given the option to order from outside so they found a solution for us :)

The staff were really kind and attentive to detail. Whether we talk about the beach bar staff, the breakfast/lunch/dinner staff, the cleaning ladies, reception, or the hotel operator. They are all cheerful, full of energy, always smiling, and doing their best to meet our requests. Our room was cleaned daily, including changing the towels. Around the pool there are plenty of sunbeds, and the water is pleasant even for kids (the pool is 1.10m to 3.0m deep). The beach is literally 5m from the beach bar, with free sunbeds for hotel guests (beach towels are available with a €10 deposit). At the beach bar there are different events each day, with music playing and TVs on. The hotel includes table tennis, a tennis court (which we used during our stay), a snooker table, and table football. As a young couple, we found everything we needed to enjoy our stay. At reception, they even helped us rent a car. Last but not least, the food is delicious. A different regional dinner each day (Italian, Greek, vegetarian, Japanese, etc.). The breakfast buffet is also rich, with a huge list of options, and the same goes for the lunch buffet. Lobed the cocktails at the beach bar 😂

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Rethymno Palace in Crete. The hotel is excellent, located in a beautiful area, with everything you need for a perfect holiday. We stayed here as a couple on an all-inclusive basis and were truly impressed by the quality of the food and drinks. There was always a great variety of delicious meals and the cocktails were really good. The hotel offers many activities and attractions — we enjoyed everything from table tennis to tennis, and there was always something fun to do. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more special. We felt very comfortable and truly enjoyed every moment here. Overall, Rethymno Palace is a wonderful hotel and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality holiday in Crete. We would love to come back again!

An amazing overall experience! The hotel is beautifully situated on a street full of restaurants, bars and souvenir shops! Sea front, with a lounge bar right next to the beach! Staff very attentive, cleanliness, food and service at a very high level! Spa highly recommended! I had a full body and face treatment, 140' with Stefanos! Pure relaxation! Thank you Stefanos!!! Deifinitely worth visiting hotel!

Ok hotel, but probably not worth the full price. We bought it through a last minute deal so we were content, but we wouldn't quite call it a 5* resort compared to other hotels we have stayed at. If you mainly want to drink and sunbathe and are ok with eating similar but good food every day, this is the hotel for you. Pros: Most of the staff is friendly and super helpful. They were the highlight of our stay. The food was usually good, lots of seafood. Rooms were clean and cleaned properly every day and each room has a big balcony. The hotel has a nice (although a bit dated) design. There were few children, so the hotel felt calm and relaxing. Coffee and drinks at the beach/pool bar were very good and there is a huge selection. Cappucinos were great, we loved the bartenders. We arrrived around 3 in the morning and there were tables ready waiting for us with cold water and a small snack plate, which was great. Cons: The biggest, most annoying problem, is that there isn't enough sunbeds, and the hotel was full of people who would get up very early, come to the beach, reserve them with a towel, and then leave for multiple hours. The beach is much smaller than it looks from the pictures. So unles you get up at 7am, you likely won't get a sunbed! Even though there is a sign claiming that it is forbiden and that towels will be removed from reserved sunbeds, noone actually does that. There are some extra sunbeds folded by the pool, but you have to carry them over to a section of the garden and lay there on the grass and walk 100-200 metres to the pool/sea. This really ruined our experience, as we had to choose between sleeping and having sunbeds to lay on. The beach is only partially sandy and it's a must to have swim shoes, otherwise you will hurt yourself. There is a long concrete /stone section you have to cross with water around knee level. We saw many older people struggling to walk on the stones, and some people even slipped. If you have any sort of mobility issue, you will have a problem getting into the water. There is no way to get coffee before 10 am, as the machines in the breakfast buffet only serve a horrible brownish mixture that doesn't taste like coffee at all, and the bar only opens at 10. So you get up at 7 to get a sunbed and then wait 3 hours for coffee. We had to buy coffee each morning from a nearby shop. The food was good but very oily, everything was fried in buckets of oil. The meals felt very focused on french clients, who were a majority in the hotel, and we really missed any greek meals (such as pita, musaka, haloumi etc). The restaurant isn't big enough for the whole hotel so we had to race other people for empty tables, meanwhile the poor staff was absolutely overworked and didn't have time to clean everything up in time.

The location is absolutely perfect right on the beach, making it incredibly convenient. The entire property is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food served at the hotel was consistently good.

Food not that amazing. Was on half-board formula and did not feel super welcomed by most of the staff. Pool access time only 10am to 6pm. Room really hot even with AC and first day with dozen of mosquitos, so did not spend a great night!

Das Frühstück und Abendessen wurden Buffetmässig im riesigen Speisesaal angeboten. Das Angebot für ein mehrgängiges Menü (auf Reservierung) war eine gute Alternative um in ruhiger, gepflegter Atmosphäre zu speisen. Das Hotel grenzt direkt an die lange Strandpromenade und stellte ausreichend Liegestühle kostenfrei für die Hotelgäste zur Verfügung. Auch die Poolanlage war sehr gepflegt und mit Palmen und Blumen umsäumt. Das Hotelpersonal war überaus freundlich und das Wohl des Gastes lag dem Hotelmanager sehr am Herzen, welcher sehr präsent täglich in der Anlage anzutreffen war.

Das Frühstück und Abendessen wurden im riesigen Speisesaal angeboten. Die Qualität der Speisen und Zubereitung überzeugten nicht immer. Es sind nicht alle Zimmer nach neuem modernen Stil eingerichtet. So konnten wir ohne weiteres unsere Suite wechseln, da diese anfänglich, nicht mit den geposteten Bildern übereinstimmte.

The room we had was very comfy and nice. We had a nice balcony overlooking the ocean the room decor was also very good. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

The Room. We stayed in a twin garden room. It was clean and tidy, some bits were dated, but we didn't mind. The AC and the fan worked ok, but the room didn't get too cold and it was still very warm. The bed mattress was firm, but very comfortable, wish they had slightly better pillows. The bathrobes were provided, but extremely small size. Towels were nice and soft. The bathroom was complicated. The rainfall shower head was in an awkward low position and the bath was small and dangerous to climb out of. The sink plug didn't work either. There was no shampoo provided, but the body lotion was very nice. The every day watering of the grass below us and the constant sprinkler sound was really annoying. The doors were not sound proof, you could hear people slamming them and walking by clearly. The balcony bars are not child friendly and the sliding door has no child lock. Also there is little privacy while you are on the balcony, anyone can easily climb over and on some nights it was very unpleasant to have the balcony doors open because so many people were smoking next door. The mini fridge didn't include any drinks and could barely keep our drinks cold. Although we appreciated a bottle of wine as a welcome gift, it wasn't very good. A large bottle of water was also provided for the room. The hotel areas were tidy, somewhat modern. Lobby decor was really nice as well as the garden, although I wish there were more draught tolerant plants. There was a fee to use the safe. No room service available. The Food. We had booked half-board with our stay, but were not informed beforehand that the dinners will not include soft drinks. Not even water! The breakfasts were terrible. Soggy bacon, cheap salty sausage, terrible pancakes with too much baking soda, no salads for breakfast either. Instant coffee from the machine and juice were terrible. The only good choices were eggs, yoghurt , jam and maybe some bread. The dinners were not great either. Everything was too salty and dry. Weird combinations, usually 3 choices of meat and fish. Cooked vegetables were overdone. The salads were great. Wish there were plain side options like boiled rice or roasted potatoes. The pastry chef did a wonderful job as desserts were very good and the presentation was lovely. Unfortunately the ice cream was terrible. It seemed everything was quantity over quality. The staff were running around everywhere and there were too many of them, didn't seem like a relaxed environment you wanted to be in. You barely finished your plate and there was already someone hovering to take it off you. The head waiter would randomly come to your table in the middle of dinner and ask you to sign a receipt for your drinks. Hated this. If you didn't want a drink at dinner they would sneer at you. 2 Mythos beer was €11, a bottle of wine both greek and Italian that costs around €6-7 they sell for €25-30, what a rip off. Mojitos at the beach bar were also awful. On some days they would have large tourist groups arrive at the hotel which probably has contracts with travel agencies. The food quality slightly improved on those 2 seperate days, the greek food tasted great, but on seafood day the prawns and some fish were overcooked and dry. The Staff. Most of the staff seemed very welcoming and had knowledge of several languages which was very impressive. The cleaning ladies were the most pleasant to us. The lady in the gift shop was warm and friendly. All the waiting staff seemed nice, but also exhausted. There was a table with the tips inside the buffet which I found was strange. They should be paid more instead of relying on tips, especially since rarely anyone carries cash to a buffet. The Pool and The Beach Once we saw that the pool floor is getting mopped with chemicals and everything runs down to the pool itself, it put us off actually using it. The towels needed a deposit and unfortunately could only be changed every 2 days. The beach area was very rocky and difficult to get into for a swim. Lots of hidden rocks. Would not class this as a 5 star hotel,.maybe a 4 at a push.

We had a very nice stay in the hotel. The staff was kind and attentive, the location is perfect, near the beach but close to the city as well, with many shops and tavernas nearby. The breakfast was also very good.

We had a great stay at Rethymno Palace. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was friendly and professional, and the overall experience was excellent. A special thank you to manager Andreas for his kindness, hospitality, and attention to every detail. We truly felt welcomed and will be happy to return again!
