The Capulet Room was spacious! We enjoyed the extra bed to read on and big beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room decor sweet - antiques with modern touches. My daughter loved the treats in the basket. Ben gave wonderful tips on where to visit (jail was fascinating and my daughter dressed up as judge at the courthouse).

Everything was perfect at the Montague Rose. Highly recommend this lovingly cared for home as your place to stay in St Andrews!

Warm welcome, beautiful decor in a property that dates back to the 19th century; fantastic location close to town, in a quiet spot that has ample space for parking. The rooms had all the amenities we needed, with period features alongside mod cons such as aircon (very quiet!), smart TV and coffee maker.

Great location close to town, room nicely updated and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Public areas also nicely decorated.

The old wiring meant there were no sockets and the charging mats provided were unreliable. The WiFi also did not work. We saw no staff members till someone cleaning a bathroom just before we left. No indication of breakfast being available.

It is a beautful house, i love the old houses, so clean, and comforable. Just a few minutes walks from the main street. Dont have to look for parking. Would recommed to friends. And again so clean. Great stay. Thanks

Our hosts were excellent- they were warm and friendly and attentive. We enjoyed meeting with and staying at their Inn. Fantastic.

This place was so cozy and charming. I was also contacted earlier in the day from the other owner to see if I needed anything and to ask when I'd be arriving. Upon parking at the Inn, I was immediately greeted by one of the owners. He made sure I was all settled in my room along with making sure I will well situated in St Andrews. The room was clean and beautifully curated. With the main street only two blocks down, it was easy for me to walk over to grab a bite and visit around the town. While it was close to the main street. it was also quiet in the evenings, making it the perfect location. While I didn't get a chance to try the onsite cafe, it looked great as well and I hope I'll get to go back. Thank you for the lovely stay.

We enjoyed staying in this heritage property. Our room was clean, very spacious and comfortable. Ben (the host) was really helpful and told us how to reach many interesting places in the neighbourhood. We wished that we could have stayed longer!

The Montague and Rose was beautifully and lovingly renovated. The hosts were warm, friendly and gave fabulous tips on where to go. (Please ask about the gorgeous walk including the extra paths) The location of the Inn was perfect and close to everything.

Eine ganz wundervolle Unterkunft. Liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer und man hatte alles was man brauchte. Bequeme Betten, einen kleinen Kühlschrank. Die Gastgeberin war ganz toll und freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Le manque de choix au petit déjeuner. Pas de pain grillé, pas de fruit frais, pas de marmelade. Insonorisation faible.

Wir hatten einen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft überzeugt mit einer perfekten Lage, von der aus alles bequem zu erreichen ist. Bereits beim Check-in wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Die Zimmer sind außergewöhnlich und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die extravagante Gestaltung verleiht dem Hotel einen ganz besonderen Charme. Auch die Badezimmer sind modern, geschmackvoll gestaltet und sehr sauber. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt – wir würden dieses jederzeit wieder buchen und können es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Accueil personnalisé de la part des propriétaires. Chambre récemment rénové avec goût et équipement récent, dont une thermopompe pratiquement neuve (Chambre Roméo). La maison a beaucoup d'histoire et celle-ci est mise en valeur partout dans l'hébergement. Stationnement est sécuritaire (j'étais à moto). À distance de marche du bord de mer.

Tout était mieux que je pensais ! Il faut savoir, et c'est clairement inscrit dans la description de la chambre Roméo, c'est qu'il faut "sortir" de la chambre pour se rendre à la salle de bain qui est entièrement dédié (privé) à cette chambre.

Good instructions for parking and entry, so accommodating, we were there for a wedding so our schedule wasn't our own, but the people at the Montague were lovely about it!

The proprietor, location and cleanliness were all great.

Great location just a short walk to town but not right on the main street. The hosts are warm and engaging.

Walking distance to downtown was great. Bed was very comfortable.

Lamps didn’t work, and hassle to have someone come to fix when your needing them at 6:30 in the morning.

very comfortable stay at the Montague Rose Inn . The location was ideal for walking around town and visiting the various sites. Very clean room and the owners made themselves available for any questions or requests. Nice terrasse for sitting outside to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the deer come close by.

The room was clean and nice. The owner was helpful when he arrived.

The grounds are not very well kept. No one is there to help with check-in. No one was in their cafe.

The host was congenial and receptive when we arrived .

The main problem was the cleanliness of the room. Sheets and bedspread were dirty. Sheets looked slept in and gross stains in the bedspread . No brk available (that we would pay for) until 8 thirty and we had to leave by 7 thirty.

The location was excellent - close to shops, restaurants and Kingsbrae Gardens. Our host were extremely personable and helpful.

The towels were really sad. They were thin and discolored from so many washings. Also the mattress was not that comfortable.

Had to leave our room to use washroom. It was fine but not as handy as having one in your room. It is the only room without a bathroom so I guess it was the luck of the draw. Not a big concern because everything else was perfect.

Literally (quote miraculously) everything was perfect.

This house was very interesting and the owners are very nice and diligently restoring/maintaining much of the original character. There were some minor issues with the coffee appliances (tricky switches) and the refrigerator was not cold enough. Also we were unable to watch TV because the remote control batteries were dead and it was too late to call the owners. The cafe had very limited offerings, which was disappointing as we had hoped to breakfast there before we left for home. When we arrived, (after 9 pm) the owners told us that room that was readied for us was not dog friendly but although they made an exception for one night. They moved our room the next night. Clearly there are communication problems between Expedia and this Inn, as we were clear about needing a pet friendly accommodation with Expedia. That being said, our experience was generally positive and its location to the main attractions in the village is certainly a great selling point.

The property is centrally located, the owners live next door and are extremely nice, and the town is lovely and interesting. We had a lovely time.

Beautifully renovated heritage home with a mixture of antique and modern finishes. Quiet inn and street, could easily sleep with the windows open. Just a short walk from the main street with plenty of amenities.

Being very close to the main commercial area but not in the thick of it was perfect! 5-10 min walk was ideal:)

A nightlight in the bathroom in a warm colour temperature would be a welcome addition :)

Das Zimmer war winzig. Kein Fenster ließ sich öffnen. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste die mehr als eine Nacht blieben. Trotzdem haben wir die schlechtesten Zimmer bekommen. Der Betreiber hatte Besuch und hat den in unser (privates) Badezimmer geführt . Ein geplanter Stromausfall (Baustelle) wurde uns nicht angekündigt. Zum Frühstück gab es nur Smoothues und Muffins, die extra bezahlt werden sollten.

Love the place / quiet / clean / wonderful hosts and Wally (our dog) was so welcoming in the room call Verona. Already miss St Andrew and the vibe! You must try the breakfast sandwich and the smoothies.

We would have liked to have a coffee a little earlier in the morning (like 7:30)…, just a personal caprice.

The location was good, only a 5-minute walk from Water Street. This historic building has a lot of potential, but the Juliet Room is very basic.

Although we were informed a couple of days in advance that the owners would be away, we were assured that a "fabulous" staff member would be there. We saw her for 1 minute on the first morning. There is a Keurig coffee machine in the hall for guests in four rooms to share, but the coffee pods were not restocked, so no coffee the second morning. The shared recycling box was never emptied, and was full when we arrived. There was a muffin under a glass dome with a note to help yourself when we arrived; the same lonely muffin was there when we left after two days. There were cell phone charging stations beside the bed that did not work. The only receptacle available by the bed is a single plug extension cord under the bed, which requires getting on hands and knees to retrieve it. The accommodation was neither welcoming nor comfortable, and I would not stay there again.

Ben and Zainub are lovely and very helpful hosts, running this pretty Inn 5 minutes walk away from the coast. The bedroom was large, with a comfy bed, and a very well appointed bathroom with quality fittings. The breakfast roll is highly recommended and very tasty 😋

The bedroom could ideally do with more electrical sockets.

The accommodations and hosts were lovely! Really appreciated the walkability…shops and restaurants (and beautiful views of the bay) only 2 blocks away.

The Montague Rose is beautiful inside and out, with large airy and comfortable rooms. The location is perfect - a pleasant walk to everything you’d want to see in Saint Andrews, which is a charming town.

The room (Verona) was big, clean and extremely comfortable. Easy access on the main floor and practically silent at night even being street level.

Nothing. I actually never saw the staff as I left early in the mornings and came back later in the evening. I was given codes for doors and had no issues.

Slept like babies with the windows wide open in a very comfortable bed.

We absolutely loved our stay. The owners are so friendly and nice. Our room was beautiful and comfy. We stayed in The Capulet. I’ll definitely come back and would recommend it to friends to stay. It’s a short walk to the restaurants and shopping.

Our stay was great! Ben was super helpful and very accommodating. We loved that they welcomed our 18 month granddaughter. She sure enjoyed! We did have issues with the keurig coffee and was not very good.
