AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Los Angeles

My room was modern with a great view of LA. The bed was super comfy and nice. There was a lot of space to spread out and do work. Centrally located with a metro stop less than 5 min away. The Bistro attached to the hotel was had some really good food and evening staff were very friendly and accommodating.

There was a weird smell in the room which I could not place. Housekeeping wasn’t great. they didn’t change out the towels i left on the floor and instead hung them back up with clean towels which I’ve never known a hotel to do. My interactions with staff was hit or miss, some were very friendly and others didn’t even greet me, that was not nice. There’s also an $18 food credit which was never clearly explained to me how it worked. So just be careful, if you don’t charge food to your room you will not get the credit. also breakfast was super expensive (~$40)for basic food. you have to pay extra if you want bacon or a sausage which was insane. Lastly, the area is very sketchy and bit scary b/c of the addicts hanging around.

Central location to a lot of downtown areas, little Tokyo, Korea town, the food district and also shops.

That the parking at the hotel was $70. Very expensive. I could understand $50-60/night but $70… for a 5 day stay it cost $350 for just parking alone… not to mention valet tips when going in and out. It’s get to be really pricey.

Overall, this was one of the most disgusting and disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. The service, cleanliness, and overall condition were completely unacceptable. We would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff - they did not explain the $18 room allowance properly then continued to blame us for not understanding even through it was explained wrong to us and they were not friendly and quite slow as the was lines were long, but somehow was in a rush when it came to us.

Wij hadden geboekt met 4 personen (2 kinderen). Bij aankomst vroegen we waar het zwembad was en toen kregen we te horen dat het zwembad voor 21+ was die dag vanwege een feest. Wij zouden hier maar 2 dagen zitten, dus dat viel erg tegen. Sowieso hadden wij ook het idee dat dit hotel niet echt gericht is op gezinnen met kinderen (ik zou er eerder een adult only label op plakken). Omdat wij onaangenaam verrast waren verzochten we of we gelijk weer konden uitchecken. Dat kon gelukkig, zonder dat er kosten in rekening werden gebracht. Daarom per saldo een 9, omdat het hotel er echt wel goed uit zag en omdat we uiteindelijk goed geholpen zijn door de receptie!

The location was great and within walking distance to the Crypto Arena.

The price per night is misleading, by the time you check out, between the extras, city tax, destination fees, parking, then tax on your parking it added up to almost an extra $125. That was not all disclosed when booking. Also upon arrival I was using the restroom in the lobby, a ceiling light dropped out of the ceiling and almost hit me in my head, it scared me and I let the employees at the bar know. They walked over to the area and I pointed out the light on the floor and they just apologized and said they were doing construction . That could have been very dangerous if it were to hit me.

Unfreundlich Personal schnippisch und arrogant. Late Check out angemeldet (bis 14.00 Uhr)und ab 11 Ihr Morgens Funktioniert Zimmerkarte nicht mehr. Rezeptionistin meine arrogant sie verstehe das Problem nicht. Reinigungsteam wirkt genervt wenn man an ihnen mit Gepäck vorbei muss. Als Gastfreundlich muss man hier suchen.

Hoog hotel, met kleine nette kamers. En een goed werkende airco. En een prachtig uitzicht boven op het terras en vanuit de kamer. Wel prijzig. Maar dat zal L.A wel zijn.

I have stayed both at AC and moxy hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpful. At the skybar Horacio and the staff were very nice and helpful. The bar is very inviting and the view of city is great!

Hi! I am a titanium elite member and received subpar service. Upon check-in, I was told there were no upgrades available with no other compensation offered. I was not offered water or a free gift. I asked about a mini fridge and was told it was only for medical use. We were told that $18 would be credited at certain restaurants/bars but they weren’t honored. It was advertised that happy hour was daily and the bartender told us not on the weekends. That wasn’t true. There wasn’t even bottled water or a coffee maker in the room, even though they were in other rooms. My wife and I were not impressed but tried to make the best of it. Things turned around when we met Deanna! She was so friendly!! She validated all of our concerns and took care of them. We were ready to write off Marriott because what’s the point of loyalty programs if they don’t honor them. I stayed over 100 nights at Marriott properties in the last year. Deanna apologized for everything and made us feel seen and heard. Thank you so much, Deanna! You made our stay so much better and now I’m encouraged to continue to stay at more Marriott properties…because of you! Deanna should get a raise and a promotion to management!!!

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel for the holiday weekend with my wife. Unfortunately the hotel staff and leadership ruined it even before I checked in. I travel 75+ nights annually with Marriott hotels. I decided to use my points to visit Anime Expo with my wife and booked the room 6 months ago. The week prior to our stay the hotel sent a confirmation email about an upgrade request I had placed when booking the room. We arrived at 11am checked our car in with Valet and requested early check in at the lobby. The first employee we spoke with was kind enough to take our bags and hold them when she told us our room was not readyand to come back at around 1-2pm. We said no worries and left to the expo to do some exploring. We came back to the hotel around 1:30pm to see if there was any progress and were turned away once again. No worries though because I didn’t request early check-in before our arrival. We again came back to the hotel at 3:52pm because normal check-in is at 4pm. Olivia was working at the lobby counter. She told me that our room was still not ready and that it didn’t matter because Check-In wasn’t for a full 8 minutes and house cleaning had still it cleaned the room. I decided to give Olivia the benefit of the doubt and waited the 8 minutes. During our wait in the lobby, we were approached by Sarah M. Torres the Director of the front office and told that our upgraded room was not available and that downgrading us was the only option we had for our stay. At this point we had no choice but to accept as this is a high volume weekend for the expo. Sarah stated she would give us a corner room to make up for the downgrade however that was a lie and we were sandwiched in between 2 guests that were partying in between 2 rooms. The room was not cleaned to Marriott standards. Sarah was dishonest, allowed the staff to be rude and discourteous, and gave us the impression of prejudice due to us attending the expo and using earned points rather than thanking us for our loyalty to the Marriott brand. I recommend that no one stay here while Sarah is running the front office for this hotel and the Moxy hotel next door.

I chose this hotel based on a previous positive experience, but this stay was very disappointing. During my stay, I reported concerns involving unauthorized access to my room, personal belongings being handled, and a sanitation issue that was documented and reported to management. What disappointed me most was the lack of a meaningful resolution. Despite reporting the incidents immediately, requesting review of available records, and following up through the appropriate channels, I was ultimately informed that no wrongdoing had been found and was offered only a one-night refund. As a repeat guest and Bonvoy member, I expected greater accountability and a more thorough response to concerns involving guest privacy, room access, and sanitation.

This is my go to place to stay in LA. I’ve stayed here Before and have had nothing but good experiences here. This time I thought I would stay on the Moxy of the hotel. I found out that the Moxy side was not for me, perhaps for a younger crowd, and wanted to see if I could switch to the AC side. Even though I knew this would be a pain, Antonio at the front desk did a wonderful job. He was patient Sweet and Kind, possibly some of the best customer service I’ve ever received in LA. He had no problem switching hotels for me. Helped me figure out what I was looking for, and took the time to make sure everything was perfect. Might’ve been a slight more than the Moxy side, but had all the amenities I was looking for, my room was perfect and clean! I couldn’t believe how well he dealt with my problem. He was fast efficient, and had a smile on his face, which I think we can all say that doesn’t always happen when somebody shows up at the front desk, wanting to make a change or has a problem . Antonio alone will be one of the reasons why I tell everybody to go to the AC and why I will always come back here! What an unbelievably wonderful experience I had thank you Antonio and thank you AC

Had a great stay! And the service at the AC Bar and Bistro was a favorite of mine. I really enjoyed and appreciated the customer service from the waiter Horacio. And the was great as well!

Very comfortable beds and a good, well-equipped room. We had a pleasant stay and felt comfortable throughout our visit.

It was a pity that the 8 floor restaurants were not operating during our stay, although this is not a complaint — just something worth mentioning.

Horacio made our experience much better. He was extremely kind, friendly, and professional from the moment we arrived. He gave us great recommendations for places to visit and always treated us with a very warm and positive attitude. It was also very helpful that he speaks both Spanish and English perfectly, which made everything easier and more comfortable for us. His service was excellent and we are very grateful for the way he took care of us. Highly recommended.

I chose this hotel again because I had stayed here previously and enjoyed both the property and the location, especially being close to Crypto.com Arena. Unfortunately, this stay became one of the most stressful hotel experiences I have ever had. During my stay from April 1 to April 8, 2026, I experienced multiple incidents involving unauthorized access concerns to my room despite privacy instructions being clearly displayed. On separate occasions, I returned to find my belongings handled and personal food/snack items missing or apparently consumed inside the room. I immediately reported these incidents to hotel management and requested review of security footage and room access records because I wanted the situation properly verified. In addition, I encountered a sanitation issue involving a larva found inside the room, which I documented and physically reported to the front desk. What disappointed me most was the handling of the situation afterward. During my stay, management verbally communicated that refunds would be processed, which influenced my decision to continue my stay while awaiting resolution. However, after weeks of follow-up and corporate review, I ultimately received a response stating that no wrongdoing had been found and that a one-night refund was considered their “final offer.” I understand hotels may investigate matters differently internally, but as a repeat guest and Bonvoy member, I expected concerns involving guest privacy, personal belongings, and room access to be treated with significantly more seriousness and empathy. I am sharing my experience factually and respectfully so other travelers can make informed decisions.

It was near to down town LA. Reasonably good hotel and well located. It definitely felt safe too. The staff at the lobby were helpful . Good facilities and restaurants.

House keeping can improve. Each day we stayed we had to ask for things we needed and had to be reminded again. At one point the bathroom mat wasn’t replaced. The tv conked out. And it would be great to provide cheap bathroom slippers . Used glasses were not taken away nor replaced . The toilets don’t have a towel hanging wrack within the bath space and that’s not easy

Aurora was super friendly and laughed at all my dumb jokes. A real pro, she ensured my meal and experience were exceptional.

This is my 3rd visit to the property and I always have a good time. The AC & Moxy properties are in the same building and are close to everything! I have been here for conferences & this visit is for my graduation from USC. The staff celebrated with me and my family - they gave us 6 free drinks and gummy bears (thank you Deanna!). Dalia was fantastic for breakfast at the 34th floor restaurant & Chris was amazing for our commencement night celebration at the rooftop. And Whitney is always friendly and helpful every visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights. I have previously been to this hotel whenever I'm in L.A. It's a nice spot but it's a bit confusing for the first timers. You have to take the elevator to the 36 floor (the lobby) then depending on your room you either go down or up. Nevertheless I am making this review for our server Dallia. She was excellent and very attentive. The other guy that was working with her was nice as well (I forgot his name) but we stayed this past weekend from 05/08-05/11.

Loved the views from every spot of the hotel. The rooms are very clean. The variety of restaurants in the building is great but keep in mind they are closed from Sunday to Wednesday. The service overall is amazing. Dalia’s service was exceptional during breakfast. She was very attentive and kind. I highly recommend this hotel and would come back again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to maximize space. The staff were SO friendly and attentive and really exemplified service excellence. I specifically want to shoutout Dalia, Ariana, and Jackie who made our breakfast experience one of the highlights of our stay. The location of the hotel is unique, right in downtown and connected to Level 8. It feels luxe and high end without breaking the bank. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others!

As areás piscina e bares são terceirizados e me pareceu não muioto bom o atendimento, também achei pouco acessível e difocultoso também as logística de ter quew subrior para torcar elevadores para quem quer recepção, roll e quartos. PErde-se muito tempo. Tambem a região para ssair a pé não recomendo a noite, passamos alguns apuros, principalmente se for no sentido contrário ao do estadio, muito escuro e cehio de mendigos e drogados. O café da manhã é muito bom porem UMA FORTUNA pagamos 92 dolares achei abusivo pelo que entrega (a vistas ok linda).

Stayed at the Moxy and had breakfast each morning and the AC Sky Lounge on the 34th floor. The views of the city were beautiful, the breakfast was great and the service was even better. I was lucky to have Ariana as my server each morning. She was incredibly friendly and kind. I also noticed how polite and helpful she was with other guests who had questions. I would definitely recommend breakfast at the Sky Lounge if you’re staying at either the Moxy or the AC.

Despite seeing a lot of bad reviews to this place, AC HOTEL DTLA. I still booked and got us a room and tried alot of the establishments. As soon as we got to this place we were lost for a little, and went to a wrong parking spot, that was the first time we met Jackeline Merino, we did not even know at that time she works at the hotel, she was off the clock and we happened to ask her about the whole parking situation, let me tell you the hospitality that she have in her bc even if she was off the clock, she took time to guide and direct us on where to go and what to do, so fast forward to the next morning when we’re gonna have breakfast at the 34th floor AC bar and bistro, and guess who we saw? It was her!, Jackeline Merino, she is the best! She answered every question we have, serve us some good michelada, coffee and alot more!l her and the rest of the team made sure we are having the best breakfast possible! Also the rest of the team of AC bar and bistro are very accommodating and warm people. Ppl in the front desk are also very kind and helpful. The room is so nice and clean, the room has it’s own character and we love it, it’s unique. It’s also quiet and the atmosphere is lovely. This bldg literally have everything, restaurants, bar, coffee shop and you really have no reason to be hassle going elsewhere! We also tried Que barbaro, and that restaurant serves the best food ever! We have more to try and ill update this review once done. Do I recommend this place? 1000000%!!
