Kirkton Bay House Bed and Breakfast

The location is absolutely incredible, with amazing driving roads and valleys nearby. The room itself is superb and the best accommodation we stayed at for our entire 8-day Scottish Highlands trip. The hosts are extremely friendly and great to speak to, and I loved the additional little touches from the hosts, such as a handwritten sign and fresh flowers. Due to a nearby ferry crossing, this is a great location to consider as a home base for Isle of Skye activities.

Spectacular views, modern and well appointed. Communication was excellent and very clean. Highly recommend this place.

The location is sublime, a big patio door at the front of the property gives fantastic views of the bay and the hills of south Sky opposite. The property is fitted out to a high specification and is very clean, with a very comfortable bed and chairs. Iain and Rebecca are fantastic hosts who helped me out with an extra nights stay due to the adverse weather. Finally, despite no cooking options, the food and drink provided is more than adequate for a nice breakfast and sweet treats.

Es war alles außergewöhnlich. Reizende und aufmerksame Gastgeber, eine sehr stilvolle Ausstattung des Apartments, hochwertige Pflegeprodukte, das im Kühlschrank deponierte Frühstück - alles unübertroffen!!Die Lage mit Aussicht war phantastisch - ein Traum! Wir können es nur jedem ans Herz legen!!

Tout simplement magnifique ! Dans une baie : un décor de rêve, un logement soigné à la perfection et avec une élégance qui dit beaucoup des talents d’artiste de Rebecca, un accueil venu du fond du coeur, un conseil en or : réserver le pub d’à côté, où nous avons super bien diné dans une ambiance chaleureuse et pleine d’humour de la part de nos voisins de table…. Magique ! Un énorme merci à Rebecca et Iain, et un énorme regret : ne pas avoir réservé pour plusieurs jours : si facile de visiter Skye à partir de GlenElg !

Por decir algo, nos alojamos en agosto y nos tocó temporal y hubiera estado bien una mantita para cuando estás sentada en los sofás sin necesidad de encender así la calefacción

Very nice, extremely comfortable, calm place to stay with wonderful view. The accommodation is super clean, spotless, modern and has everything you may need. Rebecca is an excellent host, super friendly, responsive, caring and kind. The communication was excellent, the explanations how to find the place were clear and precise. Very good breakfast with quite a good variety. We really enjoyed everything!

Wir wurden von der Gastgeberin und ihrem Jack Russel sehr herzlich empfangen. Die ruhig gelegene Unterkunft und die direkte Lage am Wasser mit dem unschlagbaren Panoramablick sind fantastisch. Abenteuerlich ist die einzigartige Drehscheibenfähre und die Straße dahin von der Seite Isle of Sky. Super für uns als Motorradfahrer. Auch der Pub in unmittelbarer Nähe ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir würden wieder hier buchen!

This beautiful house was very well equipped and perfectly clean. Rebecca and Ian created a very cozy space with beautiful views. They were very attentive throughout our stay and had some great tipps for exploring the region. We found Glenelg to be the perfect starting point for exploring both the Isle of Skye and the surrounding regions. The house is conveniently located near the Turntable Ferry.

The property is amazing it has everything you could want and more and what a view I can’t tress enough how good it is

Everything. Beautiful peaceful location overlooking Skye. Lovely accommodation , it had everything we needed. We were greeting upon arrival by Ian who made us feel welcome straight away. Very clean room with an amazing shower. Remote location which is what we wanted for our last night on the NC500. Great pub next door with lovely food and beers. The best part was Macca the puppy who I had a wrestling match with to retrieve my sock. We would 100% stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

If you want somewhere with the wow factor this is the place to book. Ian and Rebecca were so friendly when we arrived they couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. From waking up in the morning to returning back at night after sightseeing we were just mesmerised with the view from our room. The Kirkton Bay bed and breakfast is one of the best properties we have stayed in, along with their little pocket rocket who was an important part of this amazing team.

We had to leave too soon

The view and the small town are the best. We would like to go back there for a little longer stay. Very special host.

The location was excellent. Where else could you watch bird from your armchair, walk to a lovely old inn in 5 minutes and watch the vintage Clyde Paddle Steamer sail by all from your room with views over to Isle of Skye?. Staff/Owners very friendly

Sadly we expected a proper breakfast. Not a full Fry up but at least boiled poached or scrambled eggs. I really am sad to say this as it demeans an otherwise lovely place but Tubbed Yoghurt, jams and rolls just did not cut the mustard. If we had known (and I don't recall it being in the amenities list) we could have brought our own bread, Granola and natural Greek style Yoghurts etc., etc., Not even a Toaster for bread. So sorry as otherwise it was delightful, comfortable and just what we wanted.

Stunning end to our nc500 road trip

L'emplacement est propice au calme, idéal pour se ressourcer. Éloigné de l'axe principal de la route menant à l'Ile de Skye. À 10 minutes du Ferry. Petit déjeuner impeccable préparé avec soin par Rébecca .Chambre très propre et très agréable . Hôtes disponibles et très sympathiques. Merveilleuse vue sur la rade en face de l'île de Skye.

Warmly welcomed by Rebecca and Iain. Lovely clean room, comfortable bed and kitchenette with fridge, coffee machine and kettle. Good range of breakfast items fresh milk and juice. Stunning views over The Sound of Sleat, just incredible! Glenelg Inn next door serving food. We had an amazing time and will be sure to return. Not forgetting Macca the puppy. 😊

Absolutely amazing. A real gem. Squeaky clean, fresh and new interior. various breakfast items. And a breathtaking view. Maybe as a suggestion a microwave inside the houses would help as well :-)

Czystość, zapach, przepiękny widok, cudowni gospodarze.

Die Lage ist recht nett, gegenüber von Skye, nahe an der Fähre.

Eigentlich ist das Zimmer nett eingerichtet, die Ausstattung neu. Der ist Ausblick schön und man ist nahe am Wasser. Das stimmt alles. Die Gastgeberin ist auch sehr nett und bemüht. Für uns war jedoch nicht stimmig, dass man ein riesiges Fenster zur Seeseite hat, aber um eine gewisse Intimität zu waren, alle Vorhänge schließen muss. Die Nachbarn von nebenan können einen sonst im Bett liegen sehen. Man kann auch kein Fenster offen lassen, es sei denn, man ist vielleicht gar nicht ängstlich nachts. Wäre das anders gemacht, wäre die Lage sicher sehr schön und unsere Bewertung besser. Zu schade, dass man nicht mit Blick auf das Meer aufwachen kann sondern mit Blick auf den Vorhang. Das Frühstück war ok, aber abgepackt zum selbst zubereiten. Das war nicht so unser Ding vor allem in einem b&b nicht. Aber vielleicht war da unsere Erwartung falsch. Noch eine Warnung: die Fähre fährt nicht immer zB nicht bei starkem Wind. Da sollte man auf der Homepage nachschauen. Der Weg nach Skye ist dann auch möglich aber doch sehr weit.

Wonderful little space with everything you need. The host was very friendly and accommodating, the continental breakfast was perfect for us and the location was spot on with a great view. Dinner next door at the Inn was very good and the atmosphere was fun! Makes for wonderful memories. Tha KS for sharing your spot with us.

Beautiful design and wonderful location

My favorite spot from our entire 3 week trip. I think it may get some hate for being quite a bit out of the way from anything but we loved the quiet, cozy town. It was so peaceful and beautiful here, we were actually bummed we couldn’t stay longer. The view is amazing and the inn next door matched the atmosphere perfectly. The owner came over and talked to us and they were so extremely kind. If I lived anywhere near here, I would come back anytime I needed to get away!

Take the advice and make a reservation at the restaurant/inn. They were able to squeeze us in but you may not be so lucky.

What a lovely B&B directly by the sea. Would have come earlier in the afternoon if we had known how wonderful the place was. High-quality interior with wonderful view to the bay. The host was also very friendly. We loved this place.

Posto semplicemente stupendo. Situato in un villaggio tranquillo e isolato, offre una vista incredibile sul lago e sull’isola di Skye, proprio di fronte al tramonto. La prima sera ci siamo goduti uno spettacolo pazzesco direttamente dalle enormi vetrate della camera. I proprietari sono gentilissimi e super disponibili, ti fanno sentire davvero a casa. Colazione comodissima in camera, con prodotti locali già disponibili in frigo, oltre a caffè, tè e tutto il necessario. In sintesi: tranquillità totale, vista mozzafiato e ospitalità impeccabile. Super approvato!

Well, what can I say! This location and accommodation are absolutely beautiful. The view of the loch is stunning and the surroundings are immaculate. The accommodation was so beautiful and well thought out. Breakfast was provided and was delicious, with some really lovely touches. The bed was so comfy and clean with gorgeous smelling sheets and pillows. The shower was amazing with toiletries provided, again with gorgeous smelling towels. Our hosts, Rebecca and Iain, were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Also, there is a nice pub with good food just next door. We would definitely stay again and would recommend anyone to stay there, it was great value for money.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, it was perfect.

This is a top top Scotland destination not only is the location absolutely breathtaking but if there are better hosts than Rebecca and Iain in the Highlands I have certainly not met them. First rate in every way a must add stop to your trip!

Las vistas al mar desde la habitación son espectaculares. La habitación es una monada, cuidado al más mínimo detalle. Nos dio pena no poder quedarnos mas dias. Llegar hasta alli es un camino de curvas, por lo que quizá te lleva algo mas de tiempo del que piensas, bajas un valle precioso hasta llegar a Glenelg. Todo el camino es muy bonito. Queríamos cruzar a Skye con el ferry que está muy cerca, pero ese dia no funcionaba. Importante reservar el pub de al lado, muy simpático el lugar y comimos bien. Rebecca e Ian muy amables. El desayuno es sencillo (cereales, yogur, queso, pan, fruta leche, cafe, té, ..) y para nosotros mas que suficiente. Tienen cafetera Nespresso y cápsulas.

Schon die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war sehr, sehr freundlich und informativ. Vor Ort wurden wir dann sooo herzlich und nett empfangen. Das Appartement selbst war traumhaft. Eine gehobene, geschmackvolle und neuwertige Ausstattung mit allem, was man braucht. Der Ausblick durch die riesigen Schiebetüren ist einfach nicht mehr zu überbieten: Skye zum Anfassen nahe. Auch vor Ort bekamen wir jede Menge Informationen, was wir machen oder besichtigen können. Der Pub liegt übrigens direkt nebenan! Der Kühlschrank war sehr gut gefüllt. Das Bad war überdurchschnittlich geräumig. Die Betten bequem. Und sauberer ging nun wirklich nicht mehr.

Das Frühstück war etwas einfach verglichen mit den sonst üblichen Komponenten. Aber erstens war es vorher bereits angekündigt und zweitens wurde es durch die Früchte und den leckeren Orangensaft ausgeglichen. Eine Mikrowelle wäre vielleicht schön. Aber wir waren absolut glücklich mit und in dieser Unterkunft und können sie nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Absolutely everything! This is our second stay and it certainly won't be our last. This property and the setting is exceptional - the view is so stunning that you definitely won't want to close your curtains! Quality accommodation with everything you could want or need to enjoy a truly relaxing stay. Beautiful, comfortable bed and immaculate bathroom. Huge selection of continental breakfast items - juice, coffee, rolls, cheese, yoghurts, fruit, jam, scones & cream....and much more! Perfect start to the day. Five stars!

Sprookjesachtige ligging! Wat een fantastisch uitzicht, echt een plaatje! Gezellige kamer, mooie badkamer en alles was aan gedacht en aanwezig. Eigenaar super vriendelijk en gastvrij. Echt een aanrader en wij komen hier zeker terug!

Place was very comfortable and convenient distance to the Inn for evening meal.

The TV could have been positioned to view from the bed.

Exceptional in everything. Accommodation, location, breakfast, hospitality. Cabin was impeccable and high end.

You couldn't find a quieter, more picturesque location. It was truly stunning and so quiet. We sat with the lights off and just admired the view from our double glass sliding windows. We were greeted by the owner Iain and he welcomed us warmly and explained what we needed to know. THE BED and the PILLOWS soft and luxurious. A proper bed (not two together) - best night's sleep with zero sounds, so quiet. Breakfast supplied though continental, was actually delicious and lots of variety. They thought of everything!

That we only booked one night! Truly it was an exceptional stay.

Hosts were very accommodating and went over and above what I expected. Both Rebecca and Iain ensured we had all we needed for our stay and cant thank them enough. The lodge was immaculate and the facilities were exceptional. They catered for everything down to cotton buds, and extra treats left in the fridge that were not expected. Fabulous B&B, Fabulous hosts and the location was just perfect. 12 out of 10 for me.

The views from the property across to Skye are simply stunning. I particularly liked the peaceful location by the waters edge and the ever changing light on the landscape. The property itself is beautifully furnished, the beds are sumptuous and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The owners live next door and are very charming and friendly. The pub next door serves good food and is recommended but booking is essential. We booked both lodges which are identical and we will definitely come back again.

Alloggio meraviglioso, dalla posizione fronte mare ai dettagli nelle piccole cose. Pulitissimo, letto molto comodo, parcheggio interno. Rebecca è una deliziosa host, grazie a lei ho scoperto lati dell‘isola meno turistici e spettacolari. La strada per raggiungerlo è un passo panoramico da togliere il fiato. Ritornerò molto volentieri.

Lovely stay, came overnight with my partner and had a lovely time. Lovely local breakfast, amazing views and the pub next door had some of the best pub food I'd eaten in years. I would recommend Kirkton Bay to anyone!

The room is clean has all the needed amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion). The room comes with a beautiful view.

There was no toilet roll holder in the bathroom. While the round metal coffee table added a stylish touch to the room, it proved somewhat impractical, as we kept bumping into it when accessing the hanger, and it made noticeable noise due to its material. Additionally, the television was mounted at an awkward angle, making it a bit uncomfortable to watch.

La camera era perfetta, curata in tutto, e con la colazione già pronta nel frigo. All'arrivo abbiamo trovato il benvenuto su una lavagnetta appesa di fianco alla porta d'ingresso. I proprietari sono stati di una gentilezza unica. La vista sul lago è spettacolare dall'interno della stanza. Il bagno è spazioso e i prodotti per l'igiene personale sono di ottima qualità. Non scontato poi, ci sono prese usb e usb-c a muro, quindi non c'è bisogno di avere un adattatore con se.

Notre meilleure nuit en Ecosse !! D’abord des hôtes très sympas et puis une vue magnifique….. La chambre tout simplement exceptionnelle , tout les équipements sont tops , la literie parfaite. À 2 min à pied un petit resto pub typique et très bon . À 5 min le ferry pour l’île de Skye . Rien à enlever tout à garder , c’était vraiment une très très belle expérience.

My visit to Glenelg was made all the more relaxing and memorable by Rebecca and Iain and their warm welcome and helpfulness. The room is of a high standard and has all you need to make a good breakfast at your leisure. Rebecca even provided me with a different kind of coffee to suit my personal preference. A great place to stay and ideal for exploring the brochs nearby.

Beautiful home in Pitlochry, immaculately clean and well-appointed!!! We cooked our own breakfasts and did laundry which was amazing!!! The owners even left us a bottle of wine and fudge. Thank you Agnes and Kate!! It was very close to the Glen Tilt trail which was an amazing hike and the Auld Smiddy was delicious!!!

Only one bathroom for 4 adults. Even a half bath would have made it better but still not a negative!!

Wir waren zum 2ten Mal da und es war wieder ein außergewöhnlich netter Aufenthalt. Rebecca und Iain sind sehr nette Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist super sauber, es ist alles vorhanden , was man braucht. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend. Kaffe und Tee kann man selber zubereiten, so viel man will. Es wird alles sofort nachgefüllt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Vom ersten Kontakt mit Details zum Aufenthalt inkl. Tipps, zur Begrüßung durch Rebecca und zuletzt die persönliche Verabschiedung durch Rebecca und Iain, es war ein traumhafter Aufenthalt in einer sehr schönen Gegend. Das B&B lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Hausherrin hat an alles gedacht. Der Pub daneben sehr empfehlenswert. Schade, dass wir nur eine Nacht blieben.

La struttura è posizionata in un posto meraviglioso in riva al lago. I proprietari sono accoglienti e super disponibili, l'appartamento è dotato di ogni comfort e si vede che è uno spazio pensato per essere accogliente. Quando ritornerò in Scozia sicuramente riprenoteró qui.

Einfach alles war wunderschön, schon die Anfahrt über den Berg und das liebliche Tal war sehenswert. Das Häuschen mit den beiden Wohneinheiten liegt auf dem großen Grundstück der Vermieter direkt am See. Diese sind mega freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles ist sehr gepflegt, sehr modern und sehr sauber. Der Skandy-Style wird in jedem kleinen Detail gelebt. Und der Ausblick durch die Panoramafenster ..ein Traum. Wir hatten dazu noch strahlendes Wetter..perfekt! 100 % empfehlenswert!

Everything was perfect

Echt alles was super. Van het vriendelijke ontvangst tot en met het vertrek. De ligging is fantastisch met uitzicht over het water en de bergen. De kwaliteit van de spullen in de kamer (van het bed tot en met de dikke zachte handdoeken) en het oog voor detail (van het dimlicht dat automatisch aan gaat als je ‘s nachts het toilet in stapt tot en met de usb aansluitingen boven de nachtkastjes) echt aan alles is gedacht. Daarnaast stond er nog een heerlijk ontbijt klaar. Het reserveren bij de naastgelegen inn is geen overbodige luxe en het eten en de sfeer waren eveneens super. Al met al een heerlijke tijd gehad en als ik nog eens in de buurt kom dan slaap ik hier zeker weer (maar dan meer nachten).
