Minor niggle - settle in room not v comfy

The room was clean & spacious. The meal/s were very good in the restaurant. The bar man who also served the evening food was excellent on the Monday night. The steak pie meal on Monday night was exceptional.

Due to the amount of work being carried out, which far exceeded the message I received ‘after’ I booked, I had to park 150yds up the road in another car park associated to the hotel. Produce apparently hadn’t been delivered so all the items for a cooked breakfast weren’t available on Tuesday morning. Whilst the lasagne was excellent on the Tuesday evening, the garlic bread was inedible, you couldn’t break it never mind chew it, it was solid! The service on Tuesday night with a different bar man was poor, as he disappeared for long periods, and was inattentive. The jets in the bath for a jacuzzi didn’t work. There’s quite a lot of noise from the road early in the morning, the window/glazing needs improving. No information book in the room to know about times for bar openings and meal times.

Bijna alles… er werd verbouwd (wat we niet wisten vooraf), we sliepen dus in een bijgebouw (op zich beter dan in het hotel zelf) het ligt aan een drukke doorgaande weg en de ramen zijn niet geïsoleerd dus slapen met herrie… Ook was de inrichting van de kamer vrij smakeloos (maar dat is natuurlijk persoonlijk)

The room we were allocated was half decent, however all other facilities were below standard.

Hotel was in a refurbishment process, workers everywhere, no concept for the public, areas left in poor condition after works and over the weekend when off of site. As a fellow construction operative, it was very disappointing to see these poor standards in place and the hotel staff seem oblivious to it. One lady on breakfast - orders wrong, food half cooked and generally disappointing throughout.

Booked a non refundable room and only after booking confirmation I received an email saying that there may be a bit of disruption due to a renovation. However when we arrived we struggled to get parked due to work vans. The entrance hall and reception area only had plywood on the floor, dusty. The staircase just off reception was closed and had scaffolding and work men so had to take a long detour to our room. While walking to the room, we noticed that many of the fire alarms were covered with blue PPE gloves. Entered our room, quite noisy as work was going on beneath us, workmen outside were speaking loudly to each other, loud music being played and van sliding doors opening and closing. We decided to go out for dinner and to the cinema, so out room till around 10pm. Turned TV on and speakers on TV blown and difficult to listen to, we reported this to reception and was offered a different room but we did decline as late. In the morning the workmen started arriving at 7am, door to vans open, closing, talking loudly to each other and mixer and saws started at 7.30am. disappointed. We could tell by the room we stayed in that renovation was needed but didn't expect to be staying in a building site.

Close to town, bus stop nearby. Room was small but comfy. Breakfast was nice made to order. Staff friendly and helpful.

Major refurbishment going on so the place is in turmoil, workmen in the corridors and public areas. Didn’t know when booked but was emailed and told about it. That said you can’t do that much work without disruption and it’ll be a good thing to have the place upgraded. Hopefully it works out for the new owners.

I had continental breakfast and it was good . I also had dinner there with a friend and the food was excellent. I loved the room as it was really spacious and ensuite.

Breakfast is only served until 09.15 which is far too early ! Also due to a major overhaul of the property whereby they are striving to upgrade the facilities, unfortunately it looked like a building site and of course it was noisy.

Sadly the hotel is having a refurb so it's not as clean as it could be, there was only 2 staff working reception, bar and restaurant. If you had an issue in your room you had to come downstairs to get someone to fix it!!!!

Breakfast was great - good quality/quantity etc. Room was nicely finished- they were transparent about works going on which wasn't an issue (I was in annex anyway).

The room smelt strongly of Indian food and spices. Clearly issues with plumbing as the shower flooded (issue with drain), toilet wouldn't flush properly and water in the sink wouldn't drain

The property had potential to be fantastic but as it was being renovated it was a building site. Would like to try it when finished. Staff were great and managed to give us a room out of the renovations for the last 2 nights.

We were told it was being renovated but it was actually being gutted and rebuilt. We had a room on the first floor that we had to walk the whole length of the building 3 times and up 4 flights of stairs and down 1 every time to get to the room along dark corridors. It was dusty although continually being cleaned. The breakfast option was basic as the restaurant was being renovated as well.

Entire place covered in plywood floor, sockets and wires hanging out of walls, trailing cables, taking some back stairs from the 60s to get to our room that smelled horribly. Bed was a pull down from the roof so we were basically sleeping on the floor. Untold stains everywhere, no power, dust all over the breakfast plates. Warm milk and yogurt sat out in the sun. Beans, fried eggs or sausage was really the only offering. Environmental hazard needs shut down

Just completely awful and unsafe. Should not be open. Scaffolding up indoors. I got an email 2 days before to say there were some ‘exciting programme of refurbishment’ - it was a complete building site. A true hazard and completely unsafe for consumer. Will never ever be back

Nothing really. Our rooms were perfectly ok. Decor a little outdated, but everything worked. Only slight downside is that Hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment, which was affecting the entrance and reception areas. But once that’s finished, we’ll definitely stay again.

So easy to find after driving from Durham like a brand new hotel with the work been put into the building. Friendly staff and helpful the town is a 5 minute walk and quiet large with plenty of shops.we will definitely be back here soon again the train station is only 5 minute walk that brings you straight into Glasgow city centre we totally enjoyed our few days stay at the hotel Thanks

Even though the hotel is going through some major refurbishment, it was absolutely fit for purpose. We needed a bit and a breakfast. Both provided.

The building works 🤣but understand it's needed and would not last forever

The refurbishment of the Kirklands Annexe has been completed to a very good standard. Spacious and comfortable, room 214 is attractively decorated and well furnished with twin double beds and with a lovely well appointed en suite shower room. All soft furnishings and coordinated decorative finishes combined with new double glazed windows ensured we enjoyed a good night's sleep. Large screen TV

Complimentary hot drink making facility was adequate only and perhaps a tad dated and limited in choice by today's standards.

Massive renovations made parking an inconvenience, with contractors and their vehicles everywhere and blocking reception while I tried to check in. Arrived ill and had to park and bring luggage in from overflow parking, then asked for construction work to stop at 6pm when hammering was still happening below me. Walked a maze, up and down stairs to get to the room. Cheap plastic toilet seat was broken, as was cold water sink tap. Couldn’t get the included breakfast as I would’ve been late for the airport.

This is presently a building site rather than a hotel. Some areas should be a hard hat zone. After booking 6 months in advance we were given a few days notice of some ‘exciting refurbishments’ but gave no warning of the state of the premises. We were given a room in an annexe which had been recently refurbished but was an accessible room with an en suite designed for a wheelchair user, so the shower and sink were at the wrong height for able bodied users. The room smelt strongly of TCP. The waste bin was full of beer cans. The hotel refurbishment seems to involve painting every surface in various shades of grey, inside and out., which made for a very grim appearance.

Would be nice for a small microwave and toaster in room as some people have there own dietary needs and dont eat a lot of stuff are big eaters

The staff were lovely. The only problem was the pillows were uncomfortable but that was an issue due to neck pain, so easily resolved by bying new pillows that suited.

We arrived to the property and it was like a building site , no signage on the doors on how to enter the building , no prior warning to inform us of the works being completed on site, we came from North Wales to stay for two nights. The water pressure in the toilet was very poor , had to flush it about 5 times to ensure it was cleared. We stayed here last year and it was great, very disappointed this year.

The hotel is mid throw of a refurbishment to bring it from 1979 to 2000. Poor signage around hotels as the entrance was drying plasterboard and poorly lit. Poor health and safety with wood and tools left open to anyone despite no workers. Dirty carpet, just too rundown and not value for money. Staff did their best under circumstances. Maybe amazing in 12 months.

Property was under renovation and shouldn’t really have been in use.

Room was quiet, clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly.

I stayed in one of their outbuildings. Wifi was quite poor there.

Materials lying everywhere, scaffold at the main desk with 300mm gap each side couldnt even get to the counter with plaster dropping from the ceiling

The staff were polite and helpful when checking in and out.

Unfortunately, we discovered many issues with the condition of our room. The bath tub we found to have dirty marks on it and the plastic had actually come away from the tub which revealed the piping within. We could also hear water running all through the night when people were using their toilets or showers resulting in a poor night’s sleep. Furthermore, the toilet seat was chipped which we deemed to be a safety concern and there was no toilet brush to clean the toilet if needed. The shower pressure was also sadly quite poor. The curtains would also not shut all the way and the back of the tv remote was missing, revealing the batteries. We also could not access one side of the wardrobe as it would not open and there was a musty stench in our room that was immediately noticeable upon entry. Our biggest concern of all was the general condition of the hotel. The hotel did inform us that they were undergoing a refurbishment however the area was essentially a building site. All of the walls had been stripped of wallpaper, there were wooden ramps in walkways and scaffolding outside the main reception. We personally do not believe the hotel should still be operating when in the middle of such a big construction.

Room was okay, recently refurbished but nothing special. Window blinds had to be pulled up to let light in then everyone can look in the very large windows or left down then the room is very dark with poor lighting, if you want to leave the blinds down and tilt them for light you have to climb onto the window ledge to reach the cord which was about 9 feet high. We had to remove the lamp shades to get some light. Hotel being fully refurbished so facilities and the moment poor but sure it will be great when finished.

Loved the grand entrance. Staff at the desk were helpful, we needed fridge for storage of medications, they accommodated this.

Tub chair in bedroom is not at all comfy, or the dressing table chair. It was a long walk to the room with lots of stairs, (we are elderly) there was no lift. We only stayed for a night, so difficult to rate for a longer stay.

Hamilton is a good place to stay for going to Edinburgh and Glasgow. This hotel was close to M74. Parking was good on hotel grounds and housekeeping was good.

The hotel is currently undergoing major refurbishment so entrance and exit each time wasn't straightforward.

Not a lot …there was a lot of refurbishment work taking place which was not ideal, would have been better if this had been mentioned when booking .

The dated decor and beds which were very old ,I had to fix one of the bed legs which had a missing castor and was tilted down TV did not work on any channel . I hope they are going to refurbish rooms and furniture as well as the front of the hotel.

It’s going through a pretty big refurb. So it’s not great at the moment with everything going on. Also I’m pretty sure last time I was here breakfast was made to order. This was buffet help yourself style. I’m sure everything will be better again when the refurb is done

Hotel was in the middle of renovation so a lot of the facilities were unavailable i.e only one restuarant and bar ,bare walls in some public areas and flooring still being done and a reduced menu was on offer, Rooms would benefit from a touch of renovatio as well but I'm sure this will be happening.

The room was freshly decorated. Bed was comfy with great pillows. Bathroom was a good size. Location was perfect for the wedding we were attending locally.

The room wasn't cleaned in the 2 days we stayed. There were 3 coffee sachets in the room to last 2 people for 2 days - very poor selection of hot drinks. No glass tumblers for drinking water. The main hotel was under major refurb so not all amenities were available and we had to make other arrangements. We have stayed here a few times previously but would think again before booking here, despite the fact that major upgrades were taking place.

There was clean towels and clean sheets

Broken sink, bath needs to be properly cleaned, stains on carpet, stains on lampshade, hair in tea cup. Walls are not sound proofed, because I heard every word the guest was saying as if in the room and up all night playing music and talking for hours, did not go to sleep. But I hope this will be reflective in their refurbishments.

I was very impressed with this hotel. Stayed during the Commonwealth Games for 2 weeks. It was a fantastic location near the bus and train station so great transport links however very quiet and car parking. I did drive up but was never intending use car much. The room was very good, daily housekeeping. Amazing bath- I requested a room with a bath and gosh it was wonderful! That leads me to my final point. The staff were wey nice, always helpful and greeted you when you walked past. I had to ring them a couple of times before and always extremely helpful and polite and certainly took notice of my bath request. The other staff including lady cleaned my room (31) not only always did a fantastic job but very lovely and helpful too. I would without doubt stay here again-thank you so much for adding to the wonderful 2 weeks in Scotland. Well done all!

1.酒店真係裝修緊。所以當我去到時以爲自已去左廢虛。職員講大概十月會完成。職員講房間都會重新裝修。但佢一定不是三星酒店。 2. 我住三樓。每層的hallway 都好暗黑，有臭味道。窗枱好多死了的飛蟲。根本無人清潔。上三樓你會覺得好似去了迷宮。都似去左鬼屋。 3. 房間細不是一個問題。但廁所也有一種臭味。就是衫味乾up住既味道。可怕。 4.你會聽到隔離房說話。佢哋好明顯好細聲，但係你都聽到。所以感到好抱歉我個女嘅噪音可能影響到佢哋。 5. 每當有人行過個hallway你都會發現你間房有啲震。 6. 其實張床乾唔乾淨我無乜留意，但係我個女嘅皮膚反應咗一切切。有東西咬佢。佢可能赤腳踩地氈 所以腳趾比東西咬。 7.我住的房是企缸。邊位好多發黴發黑嘅邊位。企入去沖涼肥一點都不能轉彎。 如果用呢個價錢重呢個酒店真的不化算。希望佢裝修後會好起來。 但佢宜家並不是三星酒店。 只能是一星或兩星。 抱歉因爲太驚魂，所以無影仼何照片。

La cama era de muy buena calidad, que es lo más importante. Y el personal muy amable. Tenían parking gratis.

Estaban en obras de la fachada y la recepción cuando fuimos pero bueno, sin problema en general.

Good location for what we were there for, close to the train station to get into Glasgow. Staff were lovely.

There seemed to be a lot of renovations going on which made everything a bit of an eyesore. The night we stayed there was a party being held downstairs which meant when we asked to have a drink in the bar before we went out they said we couldn’t as there was a function on and the upstairs bar wasn’t stocked with any drinks. Rooms were standard, kettle had a broken plug and there was marks all over the walls and carpets.

We were only advised two days before arrival that the hotel was undergoing renovations. It was like a building site. We arrived at 2.45 pm, we couldn’t find the entrance but builders pointed it out to us. The receptionist informed us that check in was from 3pm so we were 15 mins too early, I asked if there was a lounge or somewhere we could sit? She said the restaurant upstairs but it doesn’t open until 5pm, so I asked if she expected us to go outside and sit in our car? She then tried to call housekeeping to ask if our room was ready but couldn’t reach them. A gentleman who was talking to the builders overheard our conversation ( the new owner I believe) he went himself to see if our room was ready. Thankfully it was. It was in part of the hotel that had been refurbished and was quieter and looked nice initially however there were some issues, it appeared to be a room for people with mobility issues as the bathroom was adapted for this, the shower was too low for us to use. Also there was only a tiny hand washbasin with nowhere to place toiletries etc and no glasses for tooth brushes. We got a paper cup from a cafe for this. Also haven’t seen a shower curtain in many years. The pillows were so hard and heavy that we actually drove to B&M to but pillows that we could use. In the morning when we were checking out there was nobody at reception and so we had to just leave our key there.

Very comfortable bed i slept well on a number of nights. The food in the reateraunt was good quality and the bar area has everything you want.

The road outside seemed unusually noisy, especially given how far away my room was from the road it felt like there wasnt much soundproofing in my room so i could hear other guests moving around the corridors The room was also quite cold which wasnt too much of an issue as i stayed during summer months. There was building work going on outside the hotel, but they didnt make too much noise and i barely noticed it. Passing cars on the other hand were very noisey. I cant explain why
