Everything
A lot of stairs is only downside
The food at Sake was very good. The butlers did a very good job of accommodating our requests. The room was very comfortable, and the view was exceptional.
The food at the Mexican restaurant was not good. My wife ordered the lobster tail at Wildfire. The menu said 355 pesos, but we were charged 710. The waiter said, " My bad, I should have told you." The lobster tail was 2 oz, and the cost is 355 pesos/oz. This was not clear. Nevertheless, I paid the 710 pesos. Additionally, I was disappointed that the beach area was so small.
Extraordinary property. Stay there for our 11th year anniversary. It was mind blowing. Highly recommend.
The staff were amazing and very accommodating.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.
This was my third time returning to this resort, and I came back because I knew they had an amazing staff. Once again, they exceeded every expectation and made my stay unforgettable. From the moment my trip began, the service was exceptional. Stephanie contacted me in advance to arrange my airport transfer, making everything seamless from the start. Ritik made sure my entire stay was flawless and was always available whenever I needed anything. Mr. Essafi took the time to personally wish me a happy birthday, which made my celebration even more special. My butlers, Wedinzon and Vianey, truly went above and beyond, showering me with thoughtful surprises throughout my stay. Their attention to detail made me feel incredibly valued. Our pool concierge, Guilman, always made sure we had the perfect seats by the pool, allowing us to relax without a worry. Abraham from the events team went out of his way to include me in all of the fun activities, making every day memorable. Isaac also took the time to make a candle with me, creating a unique experience I’ll always remember. Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday vacation so special. It’s the incredible people here who keep me coming back, and I already look forward to my next visit!
This was a very good trip and perfect for couples. Impression is a stunningly beautiful property with excellent food and provides a relaxing time with peace and quiet. The rooftop pool is where we spent most of our time and the quality of service was very high and incredibly friendly. Spezia, the Italian restaurant, was one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever experienced. Isla Mujeres offers the beauty of Cancun without the party environment, we were impressed. Many of the employees live on the island and they are proud of their home and excited to tell you about it. The catamaran ride back and forth was also fun and beautiful. We paid for the sunset catamaran and found that to be well worth it between the sights, entertainment and food and drink.
We had an amazing trip at the resort. Out butlers, Wedinzon and Vianey, we so helpful and attentive. They helped us book a whale shark experience and were helpful with last minute changes to our schedule. Carlos at the rooftop pool was on top of things and was always at the ready. All the staff at the rooftop pool were amazing. We always had a drink in hand.
Angel and Leo were absolutely amazing. They kept us up to date on what was going on entertainment and dinner wise. They both made sure we had a spot at the pool or beach and dinner reservations. Leo and Angel were so kind to us. The location was perfect and it was so beautiful. Not crowded at all. Food was also very good. The room was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. Leandro and Angel thank you for all you did for us. We will be returning ❤️
The resort is amazing and the service was even better. Good and drinks are high quality, one of the best resorts I have stayed at.
There is something truly special that you can feel about this place from the moment you pull up and it all starts with the staff and people. Ritik made our stay something we will remember forever and a place we will 1000% come back to. We booked a massage right for when we got there, and with our bags coming out late time was tight. He met us at the doc and got us checked in and that was just the start. From the moment you arrive you notice every detail has been meticulously designed for both asthetic, functinallty, and the location makes you feel like your in the Maldvies without having to travel 24 hours on a plane. The fact that the hotel is multi level is pure genious. You never feel you are in a crowded space and there is so much to do you never get bored. We stayed in the Paramount suite and it was the nicest room we have ever stayed in and felt more like our own little home than a hotel room. The room was impecablily cleaned each day and we loved loved the design. We travel frequently and often choose not to go all inclusive cause the food is not great. The food here is AMAZING and the servive is great. You truly feel like you are eating gourmet food everynight. We went to every restauraunt and the food is next level. We did a romantic diner on top of the temple and watched the sunset and ate a mind blowing meal over orange skies. We want to thank Ritik, Cinithia, Carlos (from Speiza) Jerry who was with us multiple nights, Carlos (from the pool), and everyone who works here that made this a special stay for us and we can't wait to go back here this place was one of the best values I have found travling. THis is truly a once in a lifetime experience everyone should have if possilbe.
The night events including Karaoka night, Sasa night were amazing; the view is amazing.
The butler service could be better and more welcoming. The seafood restaurant is not tasty ( Seafood restaurant covered by "All Inclusive" plan is not tasty; ordered Oysters !! instead but they were extra charged...). Reservation at the beef house is difficult.
Great service by Leo and Angel the whole time we stayed. Beautiful resort with excellent food and drinks. The view from our room was amazing. The pools are beautiful and have a great view of the Gulf
Not only is the locations absolutely stunning any time of day, it is a slice of pure heaven and relaxation. The food is delicious, so many options. I mean so many options!! The room was spacious, the view of the ocean was perfect and I loved that I could sit outside and enjoy the sun right from my balcony. You absolutely get what you pay for, if you are looking for a relaxing but fun get away, not a big party scene so you can hear your thoughts, enjoy the spa, the catamaran ride to and from. And the Butler service just everything the team as a whole they work so well together and so friendly I just cannot express how much I love staying here.
I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how incredible our week was celebrating our 10-year anniversary here. Our butlers, Edgar and Erick, thought of absolutely everything and took such amazing care of us from start to finish. The service throughout the entire resort was hands down the best we’ve ever experienced. We travel to Mexico every year and have always received wonderful service, but Impressions truly set a new standard. A huge shoutout to the entertainment team, Isaac and April, who made every day so much fun with tastings, shows, and their genuine personalities. Highly recommend the sunset yacht violin tour (additional charge but worth it.) If you visit, make sure to find Reuben at the main pool—he’s the best! Ever at the lobby bar remembered our pre-dinner drinks every evening, and Carlos always took great care of us at both the beach and the rooftop pool with the friendliest attitude. Every detail of this resort is intentional, making it one of the most romantic and unforgettable places we’ve ever stayed. If you’re planning a honeymoon, anniversary, or any special celebration, I can’t recommend this place enough. We’re leaving with full hearts and memories we’ll cherish forever.
We stayed at Impression Isla Mujeres for my husband's 40th bday. Half of our trip was with another couple and the the second half was just me and my husband. This hotel has the best level of service I've experienced at an all inclusive. The one issue we raised was resolved with an above and beyond solution. The rooms had so many details that made the stay great and of course the property is absolutely gorgeous. The only ding we would give is there aren't a lot of activities outside of the daily schedule - no darts, pool table, corn hole or anything like that to do on your own time. I think thats the vibe of the resort though so wouldn't take a star off for that. I have to give a few shout outs to the 4 staff members that made our stay extra special: Our butlers Zelma and Amairani were there for everything we needed and often anticipated things before we needed them. Christian who gave us a fabulous private mixology class catered to our tastes. He was so fun and we learned a lot from him! Finally, Isaac who was a great karaoke host but more importantly lead us on a very memorable bike tour through the island. We saw and learned a lot about the culture that we will remember for a lifetime.
Lugar incrível! Já fui em muitos hotéis sensacionais. Como Atlantis em Bahamas, Mandalay Bay em Las Vegas. Sem dúvida este hotel é senão o mais impressionante um dos mais incríveis que já estive. Vale a experiência!
Fiz a reserva para uma pessoa, fiz checkin normalmente e depois vieram me cobrar a diária do acompanhante. Isso foi muito chato!
We had an amazing stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our butlers, Raffa and Leo, went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect and always made us feel genuinely cared for. Carlos and Miguel provided outstanding service at the bar and pool, always remembering our favorite drinks and greeting us with a smile. Their friendliness and attention to detail truly made our vacation even more special. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxury getaway!
This resort was simply a breath of fresh air. Upon arrival you a greeted by staff waving you from the catamaran. Fresh cold towels and refreshing mocktails. Your butler is there to greet you and give you a tour through the resort. Pro tip , bring a rough itinerary so they can make reservations immediately. We download the Hyatt all inclusive app prior to arrival and we’re able to see menus and what days they were open. The spa was a dream. We had Nora and another wonderful woman. We did the Hammam similar to Turkish bath house. Then a relaxing massage. The amenities were beautiful. Everything wonderfully and beautifully crafted. Our butlers were Wedinzon and Vianey. We gave them our itenirary and they made our reservations immediately and their own suggestions to make the experience seamless. Any change or accommodation we needed they were there via WhatsApp . Staff was amazing but the name I remember is Carlos from rooftop pool service. His energy was fun and personable. Food was way beyond all inclusive food, best I have ever had. Some dishes I would have paid for.
Impressions Isla Mujeres was incredible. The staff was amazing and our butlers, David and Angel were the best. They took care of us the entire time and always made sure we were happy. I would personally recommend those two for anyone who books a trip to Isla Mujeres. Victor at the rooftop bar was also amazing and the staff in every restaurant was incredible and the spa staff was amazing as well. Looking forward to coming back in the future!
We had an incredible 3–4 day getaway at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived by private boat, every detail was thoughtfully handled, making us feel welcomed and completely relaxed. The resort is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking ocean views, beautiful accommodations, and amazing food. The property is designed for a peaceful, luxury experience. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Raffa and Leo, who went above and beyond to make our experience so memorable. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests every step of the way. They are a true reflection of the outstanding service this resort provides. We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, world-class getaway.
Resort and staff were amazing. We had Erick and Edgar as butlers who helped us with every reservation and activity. They were always checking in and attentive. Highly recommend staying at this resort for an amazing experience!
We chose to come here for our anniversary and I could not recommend this resort enough. There was bad weather almost our entire trip, which prevented us from being able to explore the water activities; however, this was never a problem. Our butlers, Erick and Edgar, did everything they could to make sure our stay was incredible. They even scheduled a last minute wine tasting for just me and my husband! If you are wanting a place to get away, relax, and feel pampered, I recommend making a trip to Impressions Isla Mujeres By Secrets. I know that this will be a place that we visit again.
Wonderful experience. Beautiful resort with amazing customer service. Our room was awesome and comfortable and our personal butlers made sure we never had need of anything!

Absolutely everything was an amazing place
Our stay at Impressions by Secrets Isla Mujeres was nothing short of exceptional. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate my 40th birthday with relaxation and luxury. While the resort itself is beautiful, what truly sets this property apart is its people. Every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond to create a relaxing, personalized, and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived at the marina, the staff welcomed us with warmth and hospitality that immediately set the tone for our vacation. Although I unfortunately cannot remember everyone’s names, the marina team was wonderful and kicked off our stay perfectly. Our butlers, Edgar and Erick, were outstanding. They anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them and ensured every detail of our stay was seamless. Rhitik, the Guest Experience Supervisor, exemplified the resort’s commitment to service and guest satisfaction. The food and beverage experience was equally impressive. Christian’s mixology skills were incredible, and many of our favorite cocktails came from trusting his recommendations. In fact, one of our biggest pieces of advice to future guests is to ask the staff for their food and drink recommendations. Some of our most memorable discoveries came directly from their suggestions. The quality and variety of the food exceeded our expectations, which is hard to do as well traveled foodies. We especially appreciated the authentic Mexican offerings throughout the resort. Some standout dishes included the incredible sopes from La Cocina, the snapper in lemon sauce at Spezia, the Tom Kha Gai soup at Sake, the perfectly prepared filet at La Vista, and the delicious poblano mole offered at the Unik breakfast service. Every bite we enjoyed at Cacao was exceptional, and we looked forward each day to the Amarena gelato, specialty coffees, and creative beverages. A special thank you to Jorge and Cesar at Spezia, Oscar at La Vista, Ruben during dinner service at Unik, and Eric during breakfast service at Unik. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine kindness elevated every meal. The entertainment team deserves tremendous recognition as well. Freddy, Isaac, and April brought energy, fun, and personality to every activity. I also really enjoyed the yoga class in the Temple with Chris. They all struck the perfect balance between entertainment and relaxation. Poolside service was exceptional thanks to Wilma, Matilde, and Carlos, who always seemed to appear at just the right moment with a smile, a fresh drink and a the most incredible poolside bites. One of the highlights of our trip was the catamaran ride to and from the resort with Captain Nacho and his crew. Their professionalism, hospitality, and enthusiasm made for an unforgettable experience. The spa was another standout. Charet provided one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced and contributed greatly to the overall sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. Finally, thank you to everyone at Cacao, whose service, attention to detail, and culinary talent made every visit special. I’ll be dreaming about my daily cappuccino and amareno gelato until we return. Luxury resorts can have beautiful rooms, stunning views, and excellent amenities, but what truly distinguishes Impressions by Secrets Isla Mujeres is its people. Every interaction felt genuine. Every employee seemed invested in making our vacation special. Their friendliness, warmth, and dedication to hospitality created an atmosphere that made it difficult to leave and impossible to forget. We arrived expecting a luxury vacation. We left feeling like family. We cannot wait to return.
This resort was absolutely perfect! Beautiful, quiet and 5 star service from everyone. The restaurant options were diverse and all served delicious cuisine. All staff members go above and beyond. I would like to give a special shout out to our attentive butlers, Amairani and Angel who were excellent. Other staff members that made our trip special were Ratik, Oscar and Erika among countless other bartenders waiters , housekeeping and hostesses! We will definitely plan a return visit.
Impressions Isla Mujeres did not disappoint one bit! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort was absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, and the level of service was some of the best we’ve ever experienced. A special shoutout to our Butlers Wedinzon &Erik who made our stay even more memorable. Their attention to detail, friendly personality, and commitment to making sure we had everything we needed were outstanding. If you’re staying here, be sure to ask for Wedinzon you won’t be disappointed! We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an amazing Isla Mujeres getaway.
We had an amazing experience in Isla Mujeres! The island itself is beautiful, but what truly made our trip memorable was the exceptional service we received. Erick and Wedinzon were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay. They were friendly, attentive, professional, and consistently went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their positive attitudes and genuine hospitality made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. They are a true asset to the team and played a huge role in making our vacation so enjoyable. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a relaxing and unforgettable getaway!
We had an incredible stay at Secrets Impressions. The resort is absolutely stunning, and the level of service exceeded our expectations. Our butlers, Zelma and David, were outstanding. David, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. We had booked an oceanfront room, but some bushes were obstructing part of the view. David promptly arranged to have them trimmed, allowing us to fully enjoy the breathtaking ocean front views from our balcony while having our morning coffee. The food and service at every restaurant were excellent. Our favorite lunch spot was Unik, which consistently delivered outstanding meals and service. We also enjoyed a wonderful bike tour with April, who shared interesting history and insights about the island. One of the highlights of our trip was renting a golf cart and exploring the island. It is a beautiful, safe destination with plenty to see and enjoy. We highly recommend this resort and are already looking forward to returning. One thing to note is that there are approximately 80 stairs between the beach and the lobby. We didn’t mind at all—it was actually a great workout and added to the charm of the property. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation experience.
Overall we have been to several of the Secrets resorts and now both Impressions, and overall we had an excellent time here! The best asset of the whole resort was the staff as each and every person was extremely accommodating, pleasant, and very helpful. The communication with Cynthia upon booking and arranging spa treatments prior to arrival was seamless and very comforting to be able to have everything ready to go for my wife's 40th bday as we were there only 3 nights. Our butler, Amy, was exceptional throughout the stay and communicating constantly through WhatsApp to make our stay great. The overall resort itself was spotless and extremely well maintained. The attention to detail is fantastic and as compared to every other resort we have been to, this one felt the "smallest" in regards to never waiting in line, always having whatever privacy or space you wanted, and seemingly having the place to yourself. The fitness center had everything you would need for a good workout and to sweat out all the drinks and food to make you feel better! I would definitely give the staff and resort itself more than 5 stars. As for the food and restaurants, the staff again was amazing and the ambience was cool throughout. The overall food itself was not very good in our opinion. We ate La Spezia first and the pastas were OK. Second night was Wildfire Grill, and this was definitely not our favorite dinner. The NY strip was awful with almost no taste and the grilled octopus and shrimp was not very good either. The 3rd night was our "romantic dinner" that took place in the Wine Cellar due to the weather (usually it is outside somewhere I believe), and most of the food was OK but the beef once again was fairly awful. The ambience was neat and but I would not purchase this item unless it was included (which ours was due to reserving with AMEX Platinum). The pool/beachside tacos and food was good as well and honestly our favorite place was Cacao, the 24 hour cafe, for coffees/snacks throughout the day. We got a 50 minute couples massage and I would say it is one of the best massages I have ever had. The treatments prices were definitely higher than they should be and the hydrotherapy is very underwhelming, but the massage itself was fantastic! Overall, the uniqueness of arriving/departing on the catamaran, the absolutely outstanding staff, the "small" feel of the resort itself, and the beauty of the resort makes this a perfect place for a short getaway and a place to simply relax. I honestly enjoyed the other Impressions Moxche better due to food and having a little more agenda during the day and entertainment at night. I will still give this place 5 stars because of the people itself, but for the price and food quality, it falls slightly short of the actual 5-star rating. This place is worth visiting as it is simply beautiful and extremely relaxing with impeccable service!
This was our second stay at this wonderful hotel, and we travelled all the way from the UK back to Mexico because it holds such a special place in our hearts. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings and a relaxing atmosphere. The food is consistently delicious, with plenty of choice and exceptional quality throughout our stay. What truly makes this place special, however, is the people. David and Zelma, our butlers, have become incredibly special to us and always go above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Franco from the activities team never fails to put a smile on our faces, and from the moment we stepped onto the dock, we had the privilege of being welcomed by Pablo, whose warmth and kindness set the tone for another amazing stay. Each of them made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Returning felt less like checking into a hotel and more like coming back to see old friends. The attention to detail is second to none. The team always goes above and beyond with thoughtful personal touches and special surprises that make every stay memorable. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests and take immense pride in creating an exceptional experience. Thank you to everyone for another unforgettable stay. We have made memories here that we will cherish forever, and we can’t wait to return again. Until next time, Mexico. ❤️ 🇲🇽✨
The resort is stunning, tranquil and calming. From the moment you board the catamaran to Isla you know you are in for a special experience. The ocean views are unmatched. The aesthetic is culturally relevant, intentional and beautiful. The food is outstanding (particularly breakfast and Unik and lunch at Spezia). We were not fans of Sake. I want to thank out butlers, Edgar and Erick for taking exemplary care of us, every need was met with promptness, care and kindness. I want to thank Alice and Jesus at the spa for a wonderful massage and care during hydrotherapy. Finally, Frankie from entertainment was absolutely outstanding (such a sweetheart) going above and beyond multiple occasions during our short stay to provide kindness, care and amazing opportunities to enjoy our stay. Thank you to managment for all the birthday treats, really the best i have been celebrated in all my travels, so special. Would recommend renting golf carts to tour the island, spending time at Playa Norte (gorgeous beach) and the bike ride offered by the resort. Overall, a wonderul stay. If you’re looking for a ton of activities and partying probably not the place for you, but if you desire tranquil rest, refreshment and soul care, this is the place. We don’t want to leave.
Spent 21 nights around both impression resorts. 11 nights at Impression Isla Mujeres truly exceptional and luxurious from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived by the catamaran we knew this resort offered something special. The property itself is tranquil, intimate with countless quiet spaces to relax whethe by the beach, the pools there was always a sense of luxury. The food was outstanding — elevated, beautifully prepared, and consistently delicious, many thanks for Manuel exec chef and chef Trejo at Wildfire. Our room was stunning, with luxurious amenities, excellent housekeeping, and exceptional room service. Having butler service Angel and Amairani were attentiveness that made the experience and truly personalized. Big thank you Ritik and Mourad for helping make our stay so memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail were a huge part of what made this trip so special. We are already looking forward to returning.
Beautiful property. Lots of pools. Never felt crowded. Staff is friendly, accommodating and eager to help. Special call out to our “butlers” Angel and Amairani. They were both always looking to make sure we had dinner reservations, spa reservations. Etc. on my wife’s birthday, they decorated our room with birthday decorations. A nice touch… With several restaurants, the food choices are numerous. The views from the hotel toward Cancun are beautiful. The property is well taken care of and was always clean and felt upper scale. While all bars and restaurants were friendly and we were well taken care of, Special call out to the staff at the coffee shop. Always friendly and happy to make/ suggest drinks. A great way to start the day. Try the tepache freeze. The gelato bar became a daily treat. Only comment for Improvement: wife has celiac disease Gluten is a strict no no. Maybe develop a gluten free menu. The menus do a good job of identifying what each meal has (gluten, Diary, etc). But there aren’t many items that don’t have gluten to start. The staff went out their way to recognize and create gluten free options. Maybe a menu as a starting point would eliminate any anxiety and possible confusion. Overall a very nice property with great people make for an amazing experience. Impressions Isla Mujeres delivers.
Try to imagine the most beautiful water you have ever seen. That is Impression by Secrets. Quiet Haven for those ready to unwind and simply savor the scene. Service perfected and always with a smile. Practice your spanish or share your Texan english. They can handle it. Check out the yoga and pilates classes in the Temple overlooking the ocean. Amazing. Food quality superb!
We had a fantastic stay at Impressions Isla Mujeres. The resort is beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service was seriously sooo good! A huge thank you to Lalo and especially Raffa, our butler. Raffa was the best butler and made everything easy, from reservations to helping us recover a swimsuit we accidentally left behind. The staff made our celebration extra special, and we can't wait to come back. If possible, request Raffa, he is the best!!
We had an amazing stay and honestly could not have asked for a better experience. The resort was beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly well run. What stood out most was the service! EVERY single staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our stay special. I was blown away!!! The food was excellent throughout the resort. Our favorites were the rooftop restaurant, the Sunday brunch, and Wildfire Steakhouse (the bone marrow tacos, empanadas, and steaks were fantastic). The 24/7 café was also a daily stop for coffee, gelato, and pastries. We loved that there were so many activities included, from ceviche making and candle making to wellness experiences and kayaking. A special thank you to our butler, Cinthia, who went above and beyond every single day. From coordinating reservations and activities, to arranging breakfast each morning, and even helping me with outfits, she made everything effortless. The attention to detail she had was truly impressive!!! This is not a late night party resort, and that’s exactly why I loved it. It has a peaceful, luxurious, private-island atmosphere with plenty to do!
We spend many weeks throughout the year travelling the world, alone, and with our family. This trip we decided to go alone to the Impressions Isla Mujeres, and with the many trips we have taken to Mexico, this experience was exceptional. The transportation from the airport to the dock, and Cancun to Isla Mujeres was all handled for us beautifully. Service was professionally, friendly, and kind. The resort is Instagram worthy for a reason. Each restaurant has delicious food, many options, and top tier alochol preferences. The rooms are modern, spacious, and beautiful. The gym is top notch with everything you can possibly need. Every room has personal butler service. Vianey was kind and helpful. Leonardo was attentive and went above and beyond. They both made all of our reservations for us, and helped us with any questions or requests we had. Really great job by the entire team. I have never said I have wanted to come back to a particular resort, as my preference is to always try something new. However, with this resort, I actually did say I'd like to come back again.
Our stay at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets was truly exceptional and luxurious from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived at the private marina lounge and boarded the private catamaran transfer to the island, we knew this resort offered something special. The property itself is tranquil, intimate, and never crowded, with countless quiet spaces to relax and reconnect. Whether by the beach, the pools, or tucked away in one of the many peaceful seating areas throughout the resort, there was always a sense of calm and personalized luxury. The food was outstanding — elevated, beautifully prepared, and consistently delicious. The cocktails were equally impressive, crafted with fresh juices, premium spirits, and thoughtful presentation. Every detail throughout the resort felt intentional and refined. Our room was stunning, with luxurious amenities, excellent housekeeping, and exceptional room service. Having butler service added another layer of comfort and attentiveness that made the experience feel effortless and truly personalized. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate personal requests and always made us feel genuinely cared for. A heartfelt thank you to Leonardo, Vianey, Raul, and Ritik for helping make our stay so memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail were a huge part of what made this trip so special. One of the most memorable moments of the entire trip was our final morning — a peaceful sunrise catamaran ride back to the mainland with only us, the captain, and one deck crew member. It was quiet, beautiful, and the perfect opportunity to reflect on an unforgettable vacation. We left feeling rested, rejuvenated, thankful, and truly reconnected — exactly what we needed before returning home to face life’s next challenges. We are already looking forward to returning.
This was our 3rd trip to Impressions Isla Mujeres. The hotel is beautiful, the views are second to none and the relaxing atmosphere is perfect. Docks: Manuel is awesome, he took care of us everyday, thank you so much for everything. Wilma and Ruby, you are the best and always had a drink ready for us at anytime. You two made the trip a blast. First floor pool: Guilman, you are the man, always pleasant with a smile on your face everyday ready to help. Wilma and Ruby, yes they were here as well half our stay and took care of us along with Fernando at Sharks. Unik: Rueben, you were great at dinner, you really made it special. Butlers: Erick and Wednizon (Salsa!) you were there we we needed you but not on top of us, you took care of us as needed. Thank you! One comment, this was our third trip and none of the waiters from our previous trip still worked at the resort which was disappointing. You meet waiters, you get to know them and they get to know you. On future trips you want that connection so you aren't having to 'train' a new person. I hope the resort finds a way to retain those I mentioned above, it really is about the people and you have some great people.
I highly recommend this resort. Service, food and atmosphere are top notch! If you are looking for luxury, you will find it here!
DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT! Review of Impression Isla Mujeres By Secrets I am writing this review as a BEWARE to anyone booking this resort! DO NOT SPEND THE $!!! This was intended to be a luxury vacation to celebrate my husband & my 25 year wedding anniversary, yet it became one of the most uncomfortable and upsetting travel experiences we have ever had. Our stay cost approximately $12,000, and the level of safety, maintenance, and medical response we experienced was completely unacceptable for a property marketed as a high-end Hyatt resort. We are UVC members and appalled by our experience at your highest regarded resort. On our second day at the resort, while preparing for a snorkeling excursion, I was instructed to remove my sandals and walk to the edge of the pier barefoot. The dock was in extremely poor condition, and I immediately suffered a very large splinter in my foot from the deteriorated wood. The injury caused significant pain for the remainder of our trip. I struggled to walk, barely slept due to the discomfort, and was unable to properly enjoy the vacation we had spent a substantial amount of money to take. What was even more disturbing was the response from the resort staff afterward. After returning from snorkeling, I sought medical attention from the individual presented to us as an EMT. The “treatment” I received was alarming and inappropriate. My foot was cleaned with hand sanitizer, and he then attempted to use an opened manicure kit containing toenail clippers to cut into my skin. He also asked if he could use a sewing needle that was not sanitized in an attempt to remove the splinter. At no point did this feel medically safe or professional. Despite my continued pain and obvious symptoms, I was repeatedly told there was no splinter in my foot. Twice during our stay we requested baking soda after learning it could help draw the splinter to the surface, yet those requests were ignored and never fulfilled. We also asked about having a doctor evaluate the injury and were told that one could come to the resort, but only at our own expense. Ultimately, the pain and inability to walk comfortably forced us to leave the resort a day early and return home.I was unable to join in activities throughout our stay & was repeatedly told there was nothing in my foot!!!! After seeking medical attention back home a very significant splinter was removed from my foot myself. The area had already become infected. I am appalled that: A luxury resort would allow guests to walk barefoot on a dangerously deteriorated dock A guest injury caused by unsafe property conditions was handled so carelessly The medical response appeared unsanitary and wholly unprofessional Basic guest care and follow-up were virtually nonexistent despite the seriousness of the situation Our vacation was effectively ruined due to an entirely preventable injury This experience fell far below the standards I would expect from Hyatt and from a resort in this price category. I would appreciate a formal review of this incident, including the condition of the dock and the qualifications and medical protocols of the individual providing treatment onsite. I have written letters to UVC, Hyatt corporation as well as the general manager of Impressions Isla Mujeres to be simply told that they followed ALL protocol & are proud of their response team!! They literally tried to use a dirty, used pair of toe nail clippers to remove a very deep splinter from my foot. They told me countless times during our stay that nothing was in my foot & all they could offer was to walk us to the pharmacy off premises in order to ask for a prescription for the infection that was clearly spreading on my foot!! I've given this corporation 2 weeks to respond in a responsible manner before posting this review. Show less Date of stay: May 2026 Trip type: Traveled as a couple
The view and the location are incredible! The hotel hitself is beautiful and great. The staff and the service in some of the places at hotel was a bit slow. We really enjoyed ! I do recommend
Stunning property with stellar service! The staff deeply care and help to curate the best experience for each guest. Shout outs to our caring and attentive butlers, Zelma and David, as well as the friendly and talented entertainment management team, Pablo, Abraham, Abril, and Isaac! Our stay was beautiful, relaxing, nourishing, and beyond memorable. We are grateful! 🥰
We did very happy experience in hotel. Everybody was kind especially Eric and Edgar. They help us alot to have fun. We would like to visit again
We arrived as a couple for 3 nights. A perfect hotel—the food is excellent, with a wide variety and outstanding restaurants. I would like to sincerely thank our personal assistants, Erick and Edgar, who provided us with exceptional service and an outstanding experience.
Went on a girls’ trip to Impressions in Isla Mujeres and had an amazing time. The water is crystal clear and absolutely stunning—perfect for swimming and relaxing. Service was excellent, especially the butler team who made everything easy. The bike tour was also a highlight and a fun way to explore. Perfect spot for a girls’ getaway—highly recommend!
I went on a trip with a few girlfriends this month to Impressions isla mujeres. It’s absolutely stunning and I don’t remember the last time I felt so well cared for. The location and hotel are gorgeous and the staff was so kind and attentive. Plus the mix of stuff to do if you felt like it (eg. an e-bike tour with April, which I wouldn’t miss; sound bath, etc) made it both the perfect place to chill and also try new things. Left feeling a big: lucky me.
We stayed at Impressions Isla Mujeres for the last part of our honeymoon trip around Mexico. Zelma & David our butlers for our 5 night stay were fun and relaxed in their approach in how they enhanced our experience at Impression. We can 100% recommend the island bike tour with April who was super informative and matched our energy perfectly! This was our first time experiencing such a level of luxury and can't wait to return!
First off, I want to thank Erick and Edgar our butlers for outstanding service. We have been to around 20 all-inclusive resorts and here are the main takeaways: 1) best view by far 2) Secrets never disappoint with quality of the food and service. 3) I like that Secrets give the option of not just Mexican beer but also have Amstel Ultra 4) Very quiet and peaceful resort, not overcrowded or hard to find seating at the pools 5)Teppanyaki table was our favorite with Spezia a close second 6)golf carts are a must to see the Island, stopped everywhere we wanted in about 6 hours Only thing I would change is a Buffet breakfast, we prefer to sample different foods at breakfast instead of ordering off a menu.
We had an amazing stay at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets. From the moment we arrived by catamaran, everything felt special. The property is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. All of the staff members were friendly, attentive, and always made sure we were doing okay and enjoying our time. Our room was clean and comfortable with an incredible ocean view. There were so many activities to do every day, which made our stay fun and engaging. We stayed for 5 nights and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. Overall, we truly had an amazing time at this resort. The resort offers many daily activities, and Isaac was one of the activity hosts who truly made our stay special. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Isaac during our stay. He hosted several activities that made our trip truly memorable. On our second day, he taught us how to make dream catchers, and the very next day he saw us again on the beach and took the time to ask how we were enjoying everything. He shared meaningful conversations with us about meditation, self-care, and wellness, and always showed genuine interest in what activities we enjoyed most. When we mentioned that we loved hands-on crafts, Isaac went out of his way to check his schedule and arranged a private coffee painting session for us at the café. It was such a unique experience — learning how to paint using coffee while enjoying the coffee aroma made it unforgettable. During that session, we also had fun conversations about the HBO show Euphoria, Mexican culture and life, and how he learned English from movies and shows and could even switch between American and British accents, which made the experience even more enjoyable and personal. On our last day, even though we were leaving in the afternoon, Isaac adjusted his schedule to host another private workshop for us in the boardroom where we created traditional Mexican shield-style crafts and learned about Mexican culture. He also remembered that we were curious about meditation and took extra time to teach us the basics, even though we had little experience with it. One of the most touching gestures was that Isaac made a bracelet for us on his own time outside of the scheduled workshop. That thoughtful detail meant so much to us and truly showed how much he cared about making our experience special. To make it even more memorable, Isaac came to the dock to personally say goodbye when we were leaving. His attentiveness, kindness, and dedication went far beyond expectations, and he truly made our stay unforgettable. At this resort, each guest is assigned a personal butler to help take care of reservations, activities, room service, and anything else you may need during your stay — and if you have Erick Zavala as your butler, you are truly in luck. Erick was incredibly attentive throughout our entire stay and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. He responded to our messages in the WhatsApp group chat almost instantly — not in minutes, but literally within seconds. We had many questions about activities, reservations, and room service, and he was always patient, professional, and helpful. Every time we saw Erick in person, he made sure to check in with us and confirm that we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed. His attention to detail and dedication really stood out. We even accidentally locked ourselves out of our room twice, and both times Erick came to help us within minutes without hesitation. That level of responsiveness gave us great peace of mind during our stay. Erick’s professionalism, kindness, and constant availability made our vacation smooth and stress-free. We truly appreciate everything he did for us and highly recommend him to anyone staying at the resort. This resort is truly one of a kind, and this was an unforgettable experience for us. We highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again!
April went above in beyond w/ activities! I was by myself, so it was nice to have great things to do. She made me feel special and went out of her way many times to make sure I had a fantastic time
So relaxing, quiet and beautiful place to stay. I have never seen such clear water. The staff was wonderful special thanks to Hermes and Victor at roof top gorgeous bar for excellent customer service along with Juan at main pool. Thanks for all your patience and service for 2 great butler's Alexander and Vianey!
Impressions Isla Mujeres is perhaps the most luxurious and elegant beach resort in the world. Pure luxury. The roof top pool, with lounge beds, rooftop bar and bed are unsurpassed in Latin America. Pure luxury, with views of Isla Mujeres Coastline and Punta Sur, across to the full extent of the Cancun skyline from Punta Cancun to Costa Mujeres to Isla Blanca!! There is a bar with a full wall of backlit translucent honey onyx bar back. Stunning! Built on a hill overlooking the ocean, the hotel has pools, restaurants draping down the hill to the beach snd and a marina/dock area. You are transported from puerto Juarez marina to the hotel via catamaran. It creates quite an impression when you approach this magnificent hotel conceived by owner Jorge Macari! The rooms are stunning. Quite the place! And the food is outstanding!
We absolutely loved our honeymoon at Impression. The service and views are what make the price point. We made such great connections with all of the workers and truly felt relaxed by the pool or on the beach. We were looking for a place that we could relax and wouldn’t struggle to find the perfect beach chair. We found that at Impression. Our room was beautiful, the resort was beautiful, our food was great, and the vibes were wonderful. I would recommend this resort to any couple looking for a relaxing nom crowded vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort. Our butlers (Erick and Edgar) were the best!! The room was gorgeous and well—appointed.
Unbelievable 40th anniversary trip at Impression!! We have stayed at many Secrets and traveled many Caribbean islands, and this place blows all others away with 5 star service. Our butlers, David and Zelma were amazing. Zelma went above and beyond to make our anniversary extra special with helping with photos, special desserts and decorating our room. Ritik, Cynthia, and Gillman made sure we were spoiled too in many ways. This is a must place to experience!! We hope to return some day!!
Great experience! Angle and Amairani were fantastic
We just returned from an unforgettable stay at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived on their catamaran taxi, the resort wrapped us in a wonderful atmosphere and ambiance that felt both elegant and deeply relaxing. The design is stunning—think Santorini-inspired white curves, dramatic ocean views, and a serene, adults-only vibe that makes you forget the outside world exists. The property is impeccably clean and luxurious in every detail. The suites are spacious and beautifully appointed, with thoughtful touches that make you feel truly pampered. We loved the beautiful beach with its soft sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and lounging. With multiple pools to choose from—including breathtaking infinity pools overlooking the Caribbean—we could always find the ideal spot to unwind, whether we wanted lively energy or quiet seclusion. Dining was a highlight. The fabulous Italian restaurant delivered outstanding flavors and ambiance, and the teppanyaki experience was equally memorable—fun, interactive, and delicious. Every meal we had across the resort was top-notch. A huge part of what made our stay exceptional was the expert butler service. We were incredibly fortunate to have Amairani as our butler. Her attention to detail and timeliness were impeccable—she anticipated our needs before we even voiced them and handled everything with warmth and professionalism. On the very few occasions when she wasn’t on property, her assistant Angel stepped in seamlessly and was equally helpful and attentive. Overall, this is a tremendous resort that delivers a world-class luxury experience. The combination of stunning location, pristine amenities, exceptional food, and outstanding service makes it one of the best all-inclusive resorts we’ve ever visited. We’re already counting down the days until our prompt return later this year—we can’t wait to go back! Highly recommended for couples seeking romance, relaxation, and five-star indulgence.
Wonderful amenities and resort. Our butlers, Erick and Edgar, were so knowledgeable about the resort and helped us so much during our stay.
It was so beautiful
The service was so slow. It took 45-1 hour to get food at restaurants. You have to make a reservation to do pretty much everything and most things aren’t available during your stay. We couldn’t get a reservation at the spa once.
Here’s a more elevated, appreciative version while still keeping it tight: --- We had an absolutely incredible stay at Impression Isla Mujeres. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The level of service was truly top-tier—attentive, warm, and genuinely focused on making our experience special. The food was outstanding across the board, with every meal feeling thoughtfully prepared and high quality. A very special thank you to our butlers, Raffa and Alexander, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and personalized. Their attention to detail and genuine care did not go unnoticed and made a lasting impression on us. This was one of the most relaxing and memorable trips we’ve had, and it’s clear the team takes great pride in what they do. We will absolutely be coming back and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxury experience.
Everything about this place is perfect
The trip was great! The design of the hotel was amazing! Our butler Alexander was amazing and so was Guilman! He helped me and my wife around the resort for our entire stay! -Cutlers
Excelente. Moderno
Todo me gustó
Absolutely amazing resort - we have stayed in some fabulous hotels all across the world but this is truly one of the best we have ever stayed in. The food is exceptional with so much choice, the staff are so helpful and happy. The rooms and facilities are amazing. By far the best all inclusive - truly all inclusive, so may restaurants that feel like you are in a different location and more top shelf cocktails and wine than you can drink!
Absolutely nothing
We liked the location with nice sea views towards Cancun, sunsets and blue water. The rooms were nicely designed inside and clean. Hotel gave the option to hire a golf cart to see the island, we enjoyed the experience. Complimentary classes like pottery making also added a nice touch to the day.
The hotel is really on the lower end when it comes to the type of customer and the food/beverage offers for more conscious eaters. If you have dietary requirements (e.g. gluten-free) be prepared for the staff to be totally confused. In several places we were asked to list our dietary requirements for them to then be ignored. You struggle to find anything gluten-free at breakfast. It is a myth that there is a lot of choice of restaurants as their opening days rotate. The waiting lounge for the catamaran transfer only offers fizzy drinks and alcohol. This attitude to beverages continues within the hotel - a cheap alcoholics paradise - but you cannot access any mineral water (i.e. water from a natural source), only purified water with a chemical taste. We asked the hotel to source mineral water for us which became a big ordeal. Initially we were told we can have a bottle of Evian for US$17, then the manager pushed backed saying that he's been to hotels without mineral water (we didn't care what hotels he's been to?). They were initially very reluctant but once a doctor was involved due to gastroenteritis, they finally provided us with some. Although not all the restaurant managers were aware which led to having to explain multiple times why we want mineral water. It is really a shame, could be a high-end hotel due to location, but instead attracts an odd crowd that probably heard about it through Instagram. Outside of the hotel, there is a lot of poverty and not a lot to see (half-day golf cart hire is enough).
everything was just perfect
nothing
I liked everything! 10/10 The welcoming, service, beautiful property, so many sweet peaceful quiet area to enjoy and relax. Great activities,/parties, loved their spa! great restaurants with accommodation based of their clients needs. Basically you don't want to leave the property for nothing else. Also their is no needs you have everything in place. I had a hard time leaving....can't wait to come again!
I had a minor..... problem with the shower but they promise they will take care of it. I wanted to stay for another night I was hoping to get a better rate but beside that really their is nothing to complain of.
The property is beautiful and comfortable, I loved the decor, the various pools and how they offer different activities each day (loved the Pilates), special mention to all the staff for being so wonderful and our fantastic butlers for being so attentive and making sure we had everything we needed (Edgar & Erick).
The food really let the hotel down though, other than the coffee shop and breakfast, the restaurants had very poor food. We preferred the little local restaurants on the beach. When you’re paying so much money, we expected better quality. We would have preferred local style cooking with big flavours vs European/ Asian style restaurants which didn’t work. 10/10 for the property & people but 5/10 for the food.
What a wonderful stay we had with our family for the week! We visited over the Christmas holiday, and although the hotel occupancy was low, the level of staff attention was exceptional. We absolutely loved the private beach experience, especially the dock area with clamshell seating and umbrellas. Hermes down there was truly outstanding. Exploring the different pools throughout our stay was so much fun—each one offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere. We dined at all of the restaurants, and every one of them was superb—not just “good for an all-inclusive,” but genuinely excellent. Roman at the Unik bar and our bartender on the private catamaran cruise were fantastic. Salso and Fidelcio, our captain and crew member on the catamaran, were incredibly kind, attentive, and gracious. Before our arrival, I worked with Maria Esperanza Vidal Diaz and Cynthia, who were instrumental in helping us commit to our reservation. They truly embody hospitality, and I cannot thank them enough. Angel, our butler, was absolutely outstanding—professional, attentive, and thoughtful in every way. He even managed to get us into the Christmas dinner when we had initially been told it wasn’t possible. Cheers to you, Angel! Louis Escandon also deserves special mention for resolving a checkout issue and putting my mind completely at ease. Although we did experience a small issue with one of our activities—and I’m still awaiting follow-up from the GM—it ultimately worked out well. I genuinely hope people reading reviews can see past the negative ones, as many feel like personal grievances or exaggerations. Having now read them myself, I can honestly say they do not reflect our experience at all. Staff interactions often reflect what you bring with you. If you look for problems, you’ll find them—but if you come with appreciation and openness, this resort truly shines. Whether you call it Impressions, Secrets, or simply Hyatt, this is a truly special place. For those who travel often and enjoy high-end, unique destinations, this resort stands out—primarily because of the exceptional staff and the way guests are treated. We fully and enthusiastically recommend this hotel. Our family absolutely loved our stay.
We stayed at Impression Isla Mujeres for our honeymoon. To say it was an amazing experience would be a huge understatement. It is beautiful and luxurious there and the food is delicious but the best part is the service. EVERYONE there was so friendly. And so happy to do anything for us to make our stay amazing. And they were all so genuinely happy to help. Angel and David were our butlers and arranged anything and everything we wanted and needed for our stay. Monica met with us in the beginning and explained how everything worked such as reservations for tours, how to get around town if we left the resort, and more which was so so helpful. Adrian and the event team were great. The activities available were wonderful. We attended a cocktail making class and a candle making class among other things. We also went on the guided bike ride (which are electric-awesome!!) and the tour was beautiful and interesting thanks to our guide, Frankie. All of the servers around the beachside chairs and pools were so attentive and kind. Someone was always coming around checking on us making sure we had what we needed and getting it for us if we didn’t. As I mentioned before, the food was great. The variety of restaurants kept us from getting bored with the food even though we were there 9 days. Everything we had there was delicious. We also loved the 24hr coffee shop. The coffee, smoothies, and pastries were so good and the baristas there were so helpful. The outdoor activities were also so fun. My husband can’t sit still for long so he loved being able to kayak, snorkel, paddle board, and even take a little scuba diving lesson right there at the resort. Arnulfo, the scuba instructor, made my husbands scuba lesson an experience to remember by showing him wildlife and taking tons of photos and videos of him under the water for him to look back on. At the end of our stay, the checkout process was easy and seamless like everything else. Words just can’t describe how much we enjoyed our time here. We are already planning to come back.
Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets was honestly such a dream. The resort is gorgeous, modern, calm, super luxe, and spotless everywhere you go. And the views are unreal… waking up to that water and seeing it throughout the property never got old. And I cannot get over the rooms… OMG. The room was absolutely gorgeous and truly felt like luxury. I’m very particular about hotel rooms on vacation, and this one exceeded my expectations in every way. It was fully stocked, and having 24-hour in-room service made everything feel effortless and elevated. What really made the trip, though, was the service. Everyone was warm and attentive without being over-the-top, and it made the whole stay feel easy and relaxing. Huge shoutout to our butlers Wedinzon and Vianey, they were amazing. Thoughtful, responsive, and always one step ahead. They truly made our stay feel special. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful reset in a beautiful place, this is it. We left already talking about when we can come back.
This resort is unreal; it’s stunning everywhere you go. The staff is incredible. Alexander at Unik is the best server, he will take care of you and the chef Harvey is amazing the food was perfect. Viyani was our butler and she helped us with everything! Maria was the best server by the water, she never stopped checking on us in our own cabana. I highly recommend this resort!
We spent a week here and it was amazing!! The food was fantastic, the views were amazing and the staff was unbelievable! Our butlers were Wedinzon and Vianey and they made sure we had everything we needed!! They really took GREAT care of us!! Guilman was the pool/beach concierge and he was unbelievable! He made sure we had towels and was always glad to see us!! Luis at the coffee shop did a great job and put some amazing designs in our drinks! April, Frankie and Adrian on the entertainment team were great! There was lots to do during the day a good shows at night! We all had massages, pedicures and manicures from Yanira, Ivonne, Nora and Alicia..they all did a great job! Alex was our waiter at UNIK and for our private dinner, he went above and beyond! I would recommend visiting this resort and we will return!!
I rated it a 4 because TripAdvisor doesn’t allow for 5. This resort is beautiful and picturesque, the staff, however is what makes it special. Wedinzon and Vianey were our butlers that went above and beyond to make our trip great. Guilman at the pools, was so helpful, hardworking and pleasant. Luis at the Coffee shop made delicious latte’s in the morning. The entertainment team, April, Frankie and Adrian kept things fun. Ramon at the Sharks bar was great. The massage was amazing, Yanira,Ivonne,Nora and Alicia are the best. Alex at UNIK made our special dinner fantastic and memorable. I would recommend this resort, Thankyou all for memorable trip!!
The hospitality and service of the hotel staff was excellent. I've stayed at other luxury hotels in Cancun, but they couldn't come close to the service at this hotel. In particular, the staff at Wedding & Vianey were always available to help me using the chat function on their smartphones. The staff on the beach and in the restaurants were very helpful and accommodating to us, even though we don't speak much English. It was the first time I'd experienced such hospitality outside of Japan. PS:日本人の皆さんはぜひ、こちらにお伺いすることをお勧めします! もし、英語に自信のない方はスマホの連絡先を交換して(WhatsAppかSMS)やりとりすると翻訳機能がついてきてお勧めです。
Where do I begin? The entire experience was second to none. The entire staff was unbelievable. More importantly, our two Butlers, David and Angel, were amazing. These guys truly care about your experience and we will be back because of them alone. I can’t thank them enough! Great job!
Impression by Secrets is a great resort! Super luxurious, our private butlers David and Angel were super helpful during our stay. The many different pools and lounge areas made the resort feel not crowded and sometimes we had pools completely to ourselves. I have dietary restrictions and both our butlers and the restaurant staff were super accommodating! The dining options were delicious. There was also almost always nightly activities for after dinner. My favorites were the sunset catamaran cruise, the guide Franco was great he was also at Retro night the same night and really made sure everyone had a fun time, and the live salsa band, April taught me some salse step and it was super fun! Overall I loved my stay and can’t wait to come back!
This review is long overdue and I truly don’t think I can adequately summarize how special Impression Isla Mujeres is. It’s an experience like no other. My husband and I have been fortunate to visit this magical place 5 times already and each visit gets even better. From arriving at the marina in Cancun for the private catamaran sea arrival, to the seamless and stress free checkin experience and welcome drink and staff greeting you at the dock upon arrival on Isla. EVERY single detail has been well thought out and gets better each time. It’s a peaceful and quiet escape from busy life and is the most beautiful space to relax, unwind, reconnect and restore. The staff goes above and beyond to not only make you feel like a welcome guest, but to somehow make it feel like you are coming home. Mourad and his team have created something so very unique and special at Impression. Far more than the stunning Caribbean views and pristine pools and immaculate designs around the property, you can actually feel the heart that goes into creating a space like this. It’s an experience that I wish everyone could have at least once in a lifetime. The rooms are immaculate and designed and decorated beautifully. The spa is absolutely wonderful. The grounds are stunning. There are little spaces and nooks all around the property to get away for some quiet time as well as many activities offered if you want to enjoy the sights of the island and stay busy at the resort. The perfect.m balance of both (we highly recommend taking part in ‘Cooking with the GM’ if you have a chance). We have to mention the helpful and wonderful butler service…from arranging boat crossing for arrival/departures, dinner reservations, any activities and so much more it’s such an incredible service!!! Thank you Mourad, Ritik, Gerry, Jenner, Juan, Jimmy and the rest our Zoetry family, Amairani, Edgar, Angel, Erick…plus SO many more for always making us feel so welcome and part of the family. We can not recommend staying here enough or rave about the staff who make this space as special as it is! Thank you to all of you, from the bottom of our hearts and we look forward to seeing you soon in the new year!
There were highs and lows to our stay at Impressions Isla Mujeres, which isn't something you want to say about a resort ~$1,700/night. The views, food, and amenities were excellent! While wait staff were most often attentive and engaging, there were a couple times our orders were forgotten in what felt like a low occupancy time. However, I found the butler system especially frustrating to make dinner and activity reservations. There were times requests were unanswered/unconfirmed or vaguely confirmed/declined hours after asking. After the second day our room’s bottled water, coffee, and toiletries (like shower cap) stopped being replenished, along with juices and wine, even after asking in-person for these. We had to go to the 24 hr coffee shop for most of the stay. Staff did go out of their way to provide a scuba diving demo on a windy day (the highlight of the trip!). We also enjoyed the e-bicycle tours: our guide was funny and shared more of the island's cultural history. We did an independent trip to Punta Sur too - worth the $6 USD/pp to tour cliffside walkways. Lastly, we booked through Hyatt. I recommend if you end up staying here you use your credit card's travel package instead - our friends were able to get a free room upgrade & multiple perks that way. Overall, I thought it was a beautiful resort that was short on the service-front - I wouldn't return.
Really amazing. You will feel like you are in Bali or somewhere more than a 4 hour flight! They pick you up in a sick catamaran — what I didn’t know is the dock is like a mini hotel check in area so when you arrive to the island you are all set and can get escorted to your room. Once I arrived I found out I got a very nice upgrade because I booked through AMEX. The views are simply amazing. The staff is at your service before you know you need something… Our butlers, Wendinzon & Vianey should win an award. They put you on WhatsApp message and you can literally just message whatever you want and they figure it out. If you decide you want to rent a golf cart they have them ready for you at an extra charge but they are new with BT and speakers. The food is good but walking distance are a couple great taco spots!
They have marketed this as a step above other Secrets. It is NOT. Impression may be more intimate or have smaller resorts. But, do not expect a jump up in luxury. It’s all about expectations and pricing. If our expectations were that Impression was just another Secrets (and at the same price as Secrets), then we would have been happier with our stay. I have seen many reviews of people going here on their honeymoons. DO NOT! Your expectations will be high for your honeymoon, and this will not meet them. I advise trying it for a 3 day weekend first to see if it’s your vibe. NEGATIVES: - We booked 4 nights over Christmas for $8,200. After the 30 day cancellation period, we saw the hotel dropped the price down to $7,200. I know pricing varies, and I wouldn’t have cared about $200-$300…but a drop of $1,000 only 6 weeks after we booked is a big difference. That was my first red flag. - I contacted the concierge over WhatsApp to get the contact info for someone in reservations to discuss the $1,000. It took them 5 days to text me back on WhatsApp, and by then we were almost ready to leave for the trip. So, I made the mistake of waiting until we got there and mentioned the $1,000 to the gentleman at check in at the marina and asked for a manager to come talk to me about it. No one came to talk to me. - The next day, I mentioned it to the VIP services guy (Carlos). He seemed very interested in trying to help us but once we said we did not want to attend the breakfast discussion about becoming members of the club, he no longer seemed like he wanted to help. And, not surprisingly, he never sent someone to come talk to us. The way he gets you to meet with him is he tells you that you are VIP guests. It’s Hyatt’s fault for allowing them to continue this unethical business practices with the VIP Services/Unlimited Vacation Club. - On our third day, I asked David our butler to have the manager talk to us and he sent him right away. Ritik was very nice and wanted to hear all of our concerns, but it was clear that they don’t like to adjust the price. This is an upper management/corporate issue. Not an issue with the on site staff. But, Ritik did say he would discuss this with the manager (who I never saw once at the resort). - The couple sitting next to us said they upgraded their room because another couple left the resort early after being unhappy. Two other couples couldn’t wait to go home. One was on their honeymoon. So… 1. We overpaid by $1,000. 2. It was marketed as higher end than Secrets… 3. My expectations were high for over $2,000 per night… But, the little things started to add up…none of these things are a big deal if not for the price… — hair on the floor in our room. Lots of it. Once I told Ritik about it, they cleaned everything up really well. — I expected the room to be super high end…it was not. Black paint sprayed on the glass on the balcony. Cheap construction. More like rooms at a nice 4 star. But not 5 star level. The pictures make the balcony look so much better than it is. Note that we did NOT have the lowest level room. We had the Signature Junior Suite King Ocean Front with Mayan tub and hammock. — Our black out shades broke. — Come to find out…this is not a brand new hotel…Hyatt bought an existing hotel two years ago and just added a common area building called the temple. They are building a new guest room tower. — We arrived on 12/23 and were given the itinerary and it showed a Christmas Eve dinner with live music. We tried to reserve it and they said it was all booked up. Even though I had emailed them prior to our arrival to find out about the Christmas events so we could reserve. The concierge said all reservations will be made when we arrive. So, I complained and they got us two seats at the dinner. Thank you, David! But, I felt bad for the other guests who could not go. The honeymooners were not given a spot at the dinner. — the yoga teacher was really good but the place they have set up for yoga shows the managements lack of attention to detail. They have very few spaces for shade. And there is a super loud refrigerator so you can’t hear anything else. Imagine doing yoga next to a running car. And the seagulls poop all of area the yoga area, which they can’t control, but if they had attention to detail, then they would make sure someone cleaned it up every morning before yoga. They cleaned it up eventually. But not before yoga. — The front desk staff are nice but non-existent. Sometimes there is no one there and at the most there is one person. There is no one at the concierge desk and when the front desk tries to help you, they aren’t very knowledgeable. I think this was due to the Christmas holiday, but why charge more for a lower level of service? But, the restaurants and beaches and pools are very well staffed. — Even in the areas that are well staffed, everything seems rushed. It’s not a well oiled machine. And that is not for the staff’s lack of trying. It must be a management thing. Frantically trying to make the welcome drinks as guests arrived for the Christmas Eve dinner. I felt so bad for them. It was so rushed and they were working hard. Definitely did not seem luxurious. — Also rushed at check in at the marina. It just doesn’t seem like they have worked out the kinks. — There seems to be only one person working at the spa (other than the ones doing the services). So, it was a lot for the poor guy to do all by himself. The steam room had shut down on its own and he had to get it back up and running. Super nice guy, though. — The water sports were cancelled every single day we were there. The first two days were windy. Today, 9:30 am snorkeling was cancelled and there is currently no breeze. I attached a screenshot of the weather showing 1 mph winds. I’m starting to wonder how often these water sports are even offered. The free snorkeling and kayaking is one of the reasons we chose the hotel. It is out of their hands bc it is the weather, but I listed it as a negative because it is advertised as a draw to the resort. — I understand some of this is out of their control but no one seems to know if the water sports are going to be cancelled or not in the mornings. So, even though we would inquire at 8 am, we would never know until 9 am. By the time we found out that our 9:30 am snorkeling was cancelled, it was too late to make the 9 am yoga class. So, we were left with nothing to do. They should modify the times of the activities slightly to accommodate for the delay in notifying us of cancellations. — They rarely have umbrellas up due to the wind. But it seems to be random…yesterday was windier than today and the umbrellas were opened. But, today they are not. — I expected the food to be more elevated than Secrets. The breakfasts and lunches were worse than Secrets. On vacation, the one thing we can usually bet on is breakfast being good. It was just okay. Secrets Akumal has better breakfast. Lunch at the beach was terrible. The only thing that was good was guacamole (and even that was his okay). We are going to try the Mediterranean restaurant for lunch today. I heard it’s better than Mercado. — The Italian restaurant was okay. Not more elevated than Secrets. The Christmas dinner was just okay. But, I did find Wildfire (steakhouse) to be slightly more elevated than Secrets. — Overall, the food is good for an all-inclusive. Just not more elevated than Secrets. I mean, if you are going to say you are more elevated…at least have fruits other than melon, kiwi and pineapple at breakfast or juices other than just orange juice and grapefruit juice. Not a big deal, but I just wish we weren’t given the impression that this was such an elevated experience. — Many times that we order something here, it never has the ingredients it says it will. Hearts of palm salad came with no hearts of palm. Shrimp tacos came without the peppers and red onion listed on the menu. — NOT the most instagrammable hotel in the world. Definitely some good views but they should just remove that from their marketing. It is more like a 4 star resort with some nice views. — Eye sore water slide that is never turned on because it’s very shallow water. We wished we could have tried it. — The catamaran ride is fun, but if that is the only reason you book a hotel, then skip this review bc we aren’t looking for the same thing. I’m glad we only had to wait 15 minutes or else we would have been stuck in a tent at a marina waiting for two hours for the catamaran. — Lastly, I am so sick of the Secrets “unlimited luxury” hoax. More like…spend your vacation making reservations, trying to read the fine print about what coupons can be applied to what, only to realize that you can’t apply your coupon because they gave you 15% off of the overpriced service already. It’s just a joke. Just do what other high end resorts do (Auberge, Mayakoba, etc) … just make it easy to plan ahead instead of on your vacation and just take off the $200 resort credit at the end of the stay. Am I at the grocery store trying to apply coupons to my groceries or am I at a five star resort? One or two of these things happening is not a big deal. And if I was paying $5,000 for 4 nights, they would also not be a big deal. But, when you add them up AND consider that you are paying $8,200 for 4 nights (but someone who booked the day before could get it for $7,200) AND they are marketing it as more luxurious than your basic Secrets…then these small things end up putting a damper on your vacation. POSITIVES: - The staff is hard working and very nice. We have found this to be the case wherever we go in Mexico. They are the most hospitable and hard working people. The negatives in this review are more reflective of management and the Impression/Secrets/Hyatt model they have going on here. NOT about the staff on an individual basis. - Memo at the Unik breakfast was wonderful! He went out of his way to get me a few things I asked for. - Carlos, our waiter at Wildfire, was amazing! - Alexander at Unik for breakfast had the best personality! - Hermes at the beach was awesome and so hard working! - Cristy and Alicia gave us the best massages we have had at a resort! They need a raise! Haha - Angel and David, our butlers, seemed genuinely concerned about the issues we had. - The wait staff at the beach and the bartenders at the bars were working hard! - The water color is beautiful here. - The view from the rooftop is beautiful. - Ribeye was good at Wildfire. That was the best dinner we had and did feel slightly elevated. - There is no doubt that the view from the rooftop pool is beautiful. The problem is that they have cheap umbrellas that cannot withstand the wind so they are often not up. The other problem is the design. There are only about 4 options to be in the front row to have the view. - Unik had a much better lunch than at the beach. OTHER: - small, boutique hotel (which we usually like) but there are a lot of steps and it is built up, instead of wide. Just an FYI. - NOT a new hotel. They purchased the hotel and building and then added a new common area building. I do hear they are building a new tower. - small beach, but we knew that coming in. You sort of get sick at looking out at a wooden dock but it is beautiful turquoise water. - You have to make reservations for dinner. It’s not a big deal but some people don’t like having to be so scheduled. It seemed like we had to ask our butlers for everything…my husband joked and asked if we had to ask them to use the bathroom too. ;-) This isn’t a negative. Just a heads up that it’s that type of resort. Let me summarize what I think is going on…Hyatt bought Secrets a few years ago. Decided that they needed to find a new way to make money, so they bought another hotel, marketed it as if it was newly built two years ago, decided to name it Impression by Secrets instead of just Secrets and marketed it as a step above so they could charge more. If you like Secrets resorts and don’t mind waiting until they drop the prices one week before, then you may like it here. We are used to visiting some all-inclusive resorts and some not…resorts like Secrets, Mayakoba, Auberge, Banyan Tree, Four Seasons, Relais and Chateau resorts, Virtuoso resorts…and when someone tells us we are going to get a step above Secrets, we expect they are telling the truth. If you love Secrets and those are the highest end hotels that you travel to, then you may like this resort. But, if you are used to traveling to high end hotels and were hoping this would be an even higher level for an all-inclusive, then you’ll be disappointed. Whatever inevitable comment the manager leaves below, feel free to take it with a grain of salt. They would not give us the $1,000 back even though the people who booked a week before got the lower rate. I would have even accepted $1,000 credit to use at Secrets Akumal (only because we like the snorkeling). I have little hope they will give us the $1,000 back but we will see. The staff told us the CEO of Hyatt was here a few weeks ago…so, he clearly is okay with the brand they are offering here. Don’t be the fool who pays $8,200 for 4 days. You’re just making the CEO richer.
My wife and I spent 5 amazing nights here. We couldn’t recommend it more! We especially loved our butlers who tended to our needs right away, which made things go perfectly. It was a dream vacation in every way!
