House keeping staff disturb you on odd hrs once at 4.30pm we ask them not to disturb again after 15 mts incharge comes and says we have to come 2 time's ??we dont know what signatures they take from us we are there to relax and can call them when needed They should not suppose to disturb our privacy

Location is plus, timing of your stay is important, during summer this place is dry and we may not enjoy a lot.

Buggys never came or came when we were more than half way. Each time we waited for more than 10 minutes as suggested. While checking out, all of us ladies who are above 65 years had to walk all the way to the main entrance in the hot sun with our various small bags. This was very distressing. We all left the premises angry and disappointed. Pl take care of the requirements of Sr citizens with more compassion.

One of the beautiful properties, it is pretty during the day and night…the food is excellent every item we had was really good..the staff is so helpful and very courteous…and made sure our stay was comfortable especially for our pet Doggo. They even have special Pet Food Menu to choose from and thus we don’t need to worry about feeding our four legged babies…

This is not a negative thing but because the property is big and was fully booked felt that the service was a bit slow….but this is not a problem because even if there is a slight delay that make it up in some way or the other

Great location, a peaceful getaway

In summary: a beautiful property with potential, but significant shortcomings in service, transparency, sustainability practices, and guest experience.

I would rate this hotel 3 out of 5, mainly because my stay felt like being in a golden cage. The property itself is beautiful, but during my three days there I did not leave the hotel even once. I initially extended my stay by one night, but then cancelled it — simply because there were no realistic options to explore the surroundings. The hotel cooperates with only one single third-party tour operator for all excursions and activities. At check-in, I was not informed that this provider was already fully booked, nor was I offered any alternatives. The attitude was essentially: “This is our provider, please contact them.” From a five-star hotel, I expect proactive communication, transparency, and backup solutions — or at least some effort to organize alternatives for guests. None of that happened. Another serious issue is the hotel’s claim of sustainability. In the room, tea, coffee, and sugar are provided as usual. The tea is packaged in paper, but the coffee — Tata’s own plantation coffee — comes in cheap non-recyclable plastic sachets. At first, I assumed it was a low-quality product due to the packaging. Only later did the manager inform me that it was indeed Tata’s own coffee. This is deeply disappointing and hard to reconcile with a hotel that advertises itself as sustainable. Additionally, the parking area directly in front of the hotel is heavily littered, resembling a small landfill. While it is true that the surrounding area outside the hotel is generally polluted, the access road leads exclusively to this property. I would expect a hotel of this level — especially one claiming sustainability — to at least keep its immediate surroundings clean. The fact that this is not addressed is frankly embarrassing. The food was just okay. For a five-star hotel, the selection felt limited, especially the lack of fish options. The service also fell short of expectations. Doors were often not opened, and at reception several basic mistakes were made.

The Ambience and staff hospitality was awesome. Specially Ms Lina Ashokan. Met our expectations in terms of. Staff behavior.

We had booked with a full board , both South and north indian dishes could have been better and there is room for improvement.

Taj Wayanad has the best views that one can imagine. The view itself is probably worth half the price and that’s why I had booked the room with a lake view, but at check in they claimed I had booked a cottage. I didn’t want to argue and the cottage was nice but didn’t have the lake view I had paid for which the rooms from the higher floors of the hotel allow you. The other reason I had booked a room with a lake view was to stay within the main building to avoid the rains during visits to the restaurant. But since they moved me to the cottage I had to walk in the rain with my family for every meal (since it was peak monsoon). But most of the walks were pleasant enough when it wasn’t raining. There are a couple of buggies but they weren’t always available when needed. Another high point was the food and the restaurant staff. Each meal was delicious (pre booking all meals is highly recommended) and the staff were very friendly(though the occasional puri, kabaabs etc. we ordered never came!). The room was clean and beautifully furnished, as expected of a Taj property. Staff behavior varied from individual to individual, which was odd. In particular, Ganesh at the restaurant took great care of us.

As other reviewers had warned me, I realised there’s very little to do inside the property. It’s a lovely place to rest and relax or if you are going to spend the day sightseeing. But it doesn’t have the usual entertainment facilities you expect in a 5 star resort. With very little investment they can easily add some more board games (they have carrom, TT and air hockey; the pool table was closed on our second day; the foosball didn’t work), video games, kids play area, a movie theatre, bicycles, evening entertainment etc. These are all available at other Taj resorts but not in this one. A resort must be a destination in itself or else how will you attract guests? Surely not to pay 5 star prices just to go out sight seeing? If you can’t keep kids engaged, how do you expect parents to visit the spa or the bar (which we were repeatedly told has the best view but we couldn’t access it since kids are not allowed) or the gym? Or perhaps, families are not your target customers. I don’t know but the management has to figure it out.

Restaurants were very good. The food was great experience. Staff was very friendly. The bartender Anoop Singh was fantastic. Bibina was very helpful. They were a couple of waiters in Southern spice, who were also very friendly

Property has not been maintained well, I noticed that in the spa there was a lot of seepage which needs addressing. Also, 2 out of 4 days, we did not get hot water in the bathroom, and it would have been nice if we were informed about it .

Exotic and absolutely wonderful place to be. Monsoon rains added to the charm. Exceptional holiday and would definitely make another trip.

The front desk staff were exceptional in their sphere of work, specially Rhea and Lina, to mention one such, they made sure my late birthday was celebrated again with the pastries provided for that sake Glad buggies were provided as it helps moving around the terrain.....the lush greenery inside and surrounding the property are well maintained which was so good and lastly the housekeeping too were too good in providing and facilitating our requests

Mainly for the cost of stay and keeping in view that other eateries are further away from property lunch/dinner should come along the package it saves us time and money. Secondly, having a water body close enough but have no access to it was very disappointing Also activity like bamboo rafting, boat rides are all hyped and has no much fun, so not recommended

Great staff. Nice spa - good treatments and also options for couples. Bonus of complementary yoga very morning (thanks Vikram!). Nice cocktails by the pool and Southern Spice restaurant was good. We had a lake view Vila - so you can have a bath looking out on the lake —- all in all great stay. Bonus was trekking - they have an arrangement with a local company with nice guides - the downside was the very high park fees but in end worth it. Recommended.

Excellent property, great facilities including a spa centre. Several restaurants, all superb. very good breakfast, great choice, great location and good service.

The room was very big but a bit unpractically designed. We would have preferred a small villa with two separate bedrooms with a door between that is possible to close and also two bathrooms.

Was super tough to get food and drinks ordered and delivered. Staff was not very courteous , they were stuck into processes that were not customer friendly. Very disappointed this is not the Taj service I expected. Oberoi hotels staff customer service is a lot better. Taj is losing its edge on customer service at least. Staff didn't even know breakfast timings!! For this pricing it was definitely not value for money. Maldives water villa with pool in a 5 start property are half the price ...
