Very lovely “vintage “ style hotel in a great location for the medical facilities in Aurora

Needs to have EV charger on property or at least educate the staff about where to find one

Staff was not interested in doing more than the minimum but hotel was so beautiful

I have always loved this hotel - its proximity to campus, great food, amenities and room. I also like the fact I can work there if I need to.

I have stayed here multiple times but was a little disappointed this time around small things - mainly housekeeping.

No carpets in bedroom

The bathroom was not properly cleaned. A clump of hair was left in the shower stall, there were drop stains on toilet seat

I love this hotel. It’s in a very safe neighborhood on the U of CO Anschutz medical campus. Rooms are quiet with a very comfortable bed. A superb bar and restaurant are on site. The small neighborhood also has a great brewery, coffee shop and other restaurants. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Love the artwork throughout the hotel. Dog friendly with so many areas to walk in the area.

This property is a gem. I booked this hotel in order to be close to the Anschutz Medical Center at the University of Colorado, while my daughter was having surgery. All I expected was a clean room, comfortable bed and to be nearby...walking distance. I can say that I was totally surprised by this beautiful, well managed and very luxurious property. For starters the decor is lovely, well designed and creates a warmth with it's many fireplaces and cozy seating areas. Every request was granted! The staff from Valet, Bar, Restaurants (and btw- excellent food to be had at their restaurant), Front desk were beyond accommodating. Patrice Robinson the Front Office Supervisor could not have been more helpful. She even arranged for me to get a walking map to the hospital so I didn't need to depend on my cell phone. Finding a place to set up a special meal also was no problem, when I explained my eating restrictions. Hoping I have no reason to return to Aurora ...certainly not because of needing the hospital. But for sure I highly recommend the Bensen Hotel and do ask for the Medical Rate if you have a family member at ANSHUTZ. ENJOY!

I cannot say enough good things about the Benson hotel. I moved from another hotel and stored my luggage until a room was available. When a room opened they literally ran across the lobby to catch me and get me checked in before my Lyft arrived. Then they took my luggage to my room and hung my coat up in the closet. Every member of staff was kind and went above and beyond to ensure my stay excellent. Beautiful lobby with areas to sit and read or visit with others. Well appointed room and a huge shower. The attached restaurant Common Good was a great place for brunch.

With the exception of the outdated TV cable system, the rooms and atmosphere give the impression of a very high end hotel - which is nice considering how affordable it is. Despite being in Aurora, the hotel is on-campus at the university and feels very safe. The staff we interacted with (Patrice, Meredith, Rick and others) were all super helpful.

I stayed at this hotel due to connivence to where I need to go and could do so walking. That was a plus. The ambiance was good in the hotel lobby, and the rooms were very nice as well as clean. It was quiet for the most part. My lower review is due to the hospitality desk, or check-in, check-out. It was the coldest reception I’ve received at check-in and not friendly at check-out either with a different person. On the way to my room, I realized that I was not advised of the wifi password. I mentioned that to someone on the elevator and she said - no, I wasn’t advised either. We figured it out, as it was written on the room key envelop. I was not impressed with that staff; especially at a higher-end facility. Also, 3 hours before I checked out, the TV would not turn on, and the electrical outlets did not work, so could not charge my devices. I checked out and sat in the lobby to do that. However, at the Common Good Restaurant the staff was very friendly, attentive, and the food is good.

This is a beautiful hotel, with excellent service, in close proximity to a conference I was attending. This was my second stay and I will never go anywhere else when in Denver.

We had a business meeting at the hotel and it was extremely welcoming, amazing art collection, and the rooms were perfect….and very well appointed.

Lovely hotel in a quaint area. I would definitely return. The convenience of the location to Anschutz Medical Campus was essential.

We had our wedding on August 30th 2025 at the Benson Hotel. It was exceptional. From the very first meeting with Brenna Buckley, she was professional, creative and made my husband and I feel both calm and excited at the same time. Brenna was such a big part of making our day something out of a fairytale. She made sure every detail was exemplary, from what we would eat the day of, to arranging every flower in just the perfect location. She went above and beyond expectation. So much so, that it felt like I was creating my vision with one of my best friends. Always there for any new ideas I came up with. The day of the wedding we didn’t know if we would be inside or outside, due to the rainstorm forecasted that day. At the last minute Bill Young and staff were able to pull off the outdoor wedding I was dreaming of. Amazing. The staff was always so helpful and kind. They made us feel as if it were their wedding we were all planning. The hotel’s ambiance made for a beautiful setting. It was a perfect backdrop for all of our wedding photos. The food created by Anthony Sartorio was so flavorful. Exactly what we asked for and perfectly executed. Our friends and family raved about how beautiful all their rooms were. And I have to agree. Our honeymoon sweet was amazing. Everything was pristine and comfortable. If you have been looking for a venue to host your next event, look no further. Donovan Davis and his team at The Benson Hotel are the perfect choice. A very special “Thank you” to Brenna, Brittani, Bill, Anthony and Donovan for making our special day unforgettable.

What a gem of a place! It was the perfect pit-stop on a work trip, from the fireplace in the lobby, the delicious food, the friendly staff, the beautifully designed rooms, and all the wonderful designs (lots of plugs on the nightstand! A fridge and hot plate in the room. Motion sensing lights in the bathroom). It was all a delight at a great price. I'd definitely go back!

Nice hotel, parking is alittle pricey at $25 a day. But still if you are going UC Medical Center then the hotel is worth it.

The Benson met all of my expectations for great service, very clean room, and accessibility for my daughter and proximity to Childern's Hospital. This will definitely be our "go to" hotel in the future.

The location in proximity to the hospital my father was in. I could easily walk to him daily. The hotel was a beautiful respite after long hard day at the hospital.

Wanted me to pay twice b

I was disappointed in breakfast because I thought it was included in the price. It was undoubtedly my mistake but still was disappointing to find out that I had to pay.

Last weekend my son was terribly sick with an infected abscess that caused a scary fever. I took him to an emergency room in the mountains but they couldn’t do anything for him. They told me I had to drive to Denver and take him to the University of Colorado Children’s Hospital Emergency Room. Long story short we had hours of waiting and then terribly painful procedures before being released from the hospital at 4:30 AM. Given that I had no idea when I woke up that morning that I would need a hotel room in Denver that night I had no reservation. I looked up hotels on Booking and they were quite inexpensive indicating that they had strong availability but I couldn’t make a reservation “for the night before” because it was already the next day. So I took my poor kid and drove to the Benson. The door was locked so I rang the bell to call inside. Whomever answered rudely told me that they were full and to go away. Obviously ion general, it’s super odd to show up at that time of the morning for a room but I imagine that it is a more regular occurrence near a hospital where the Benson is located. I was desperate and would have paid anything and I got rudeness. We ended up going to the Hyatt Hotel where they couldn’t have been nicer. The Hyatt might not be as nice as the Benson on paper but they have an understanding of hospitality that the Benson sorely lacks. (PS. They told me that none of the hotels in Aurora had more than a 20% occupancy so obviously the Benson person was lying and just didn’t feel like dealing with us.)

I was a bell captain in three major hotels in Manhattan. I know class and style at the right price when I see one. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make me feel welcomed.

This hotel is nothing short of Incredible. Every moment, from the friendly greeting at check in, to the gorgeously appointed public areas, fabulous room, great restaurant... all a wonderful delight. Bed comfortable, amenities over the top, and best of all a warm and welcoming staff. Yes, it was a "splurge", but totally worth it! P.S. Our ESA dog totally enjoyed it, too.

What a nice surprise! We checked into the Benson to attend our Daughter’s graduation from Anchutz. Upon entering our room, we were very surprised that the staff had decorated the room in holiday flair, nice touch. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel close to campus, this is the place.

While the room and restaurant staff were excellent and we had an overall positive experience, similar to other reviewers, we felt the front office staff was totally uninterested in us as guests or any question we asked. Sadly, a nice hotel experience was diminished by this (repeated) experience in any interaction we had with the individuals at reception.

Great experience fine restaurant and accomodations. The check-in experience was great with an explanation of all the amenities that are available including where your free morning coffee was located. Room was exceptionally clean.

Front desk staff was welcoming and accommodating. They went over backwards to meet our needs. Stayed here for a procedure at CU Anchutz Medical Center and the room was comfortable and the food at Common Good was amazing. Easy walk to brewery, restaurants & coffee. The staff took great care of us.

Only a few rooms have doors/windows that open to the outside for fresh air.

The Benson Hotel is a beautifully decorated boutique hotel that features stunning art pieces by native artists. The front desk staff was warm, knowledgeable, and consistently went above and beyond to assist us with any questions. Although we initially planned to park ourselves, the availability of valet service was exceptional—friendly, efficient, and always with a smile, making our trip even more enjoyable. From the moment we entered, we felt a sense of calm, almost reminiscent of a spa, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The use of key cards for entry after certain hours and for elevator access added an extra layer of security, which we appreciated. Our room, a cozy two-bedroom with queen beds, felt spacious and beautifully decorated, giving the impression of an impressive master suite. The bathroom was large, immaculate, and had wonderful water pressure, contributing to a luxurious experience. I would highly recommend staying here; it is truly a wonderful place that will not disappoint.

The location is perfect whether you are there for a hospital appointment or heading to the airport. It is a beautiful hotel with easy access to the major freeways.

This is the perfect hotel to stay if you want to be close to the medical campus. However this is not the only reason, besides their location, the decoration and rooms are very good. There is another VERY important factor: Your room gets done everyday! That is something that has become more rare. Thay have a great team!!

Upgraded us to a Pioneer suite, which was large, well-decorated and comfortable. Plush towels, robes provided. Bartender was friendly and made good drinks and the food at Common Good was very good.

Some of the staff were not well trained (good intentions, but iffy service) and one of the front desk reps was a little indifferent/borderline rude.

Requested room cleaning was not done. The restaurant wasnt great. Room was comfortable.

Fabulous hotel in Aurora district, kind of hidden jewel, luxurious design kind of "old fashion top level hotels" at very aforable price. Great staff, excellent restaurant. Rooms very comfortable, bathrooms are large and gorgeous!

Nothing I can remember.

Overall experience was fair. Location was fantastic! Hospitable welcoming and offer of assistance by the front desk staff was mediocre. Personnel staffing the reception area tend to be stand-offish and do not make a concerted effort to be sincerely warm and helpful. Having stayed at many five star hotels worldwide the personnel at the Benson could improve their hospitality.

Gorgeous area and luxurious stay!

I stayed at the Benson while attending a 3-day convention at the Gaylord. The suite was spacious and so comfortable with a lovely bathroom. I enjoyed breakfast one morning at the restaurant downstairs, as well as a meal at the bar one evening--both were wonderful. I would definitely recommend and would stay again in the future.

I stay at the hotel monthly for business. Its always my go to place to relax and get a good night's sleep for an early flight out!

Fantastic location for visiting the University of Colorado Health Campus and Aurora, Colorado. Clean, efficient, luxurious. No hesitation recommending.

Everything is perfect and luxurious, only bad thing is the parking lot is 10 minute walk away from the property.

Parking is not great. Valet was $49/night, self parking was 7-8 minute walk away. Not awful, but not great. While the location is nice, the area pretty much shuts down after 6pm.

Nice hotel, but there is no self-parking close to the hotel. They tell you that you can self park but it's over 500 yards. Not fun to make that walk multiple times per day since we were coming and going a lot. Regarding our room - we had a very nice 2 room executive suite. However our bathroom had a walk-in shower and a large soaking tub, and the bathtub had no hot water.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. We are locals and had no idea this place existed. it was heaven in the city! Brenna Buckley helped me with my reservation, Mauricio at check in provided great customer service. Patrice at check out was really good and Meredith answered any and all questions I had. I will definately reccommend and revisit this hotel

Perfect place to stay if you need access to the hospital!

This hotel should not be listed on 3rd party booking sites if it is going to treat people like 3rd party citizens. Also there is NO actual parking. They claim there is a garage but it is 4++ blocks away 10-12 min walk through a poorly lit area. The Valet is an additional $39/night. And the "free garage" requires so many steps you end up paying $3 an hour to be there anyway because their instructions are downright wrong. The staff Tashea or Tayshay...Anglo young lady with an aweful attitude... should be fired there are so many reviews about how badly she treats people. The food and the restaurant were awesome. But they are a whole other business I gave a good review. Stay somewhere else and go eat at the common good...but for the love of customer service the Valet needs to be included in the price of the room...the additional $40/night is heinous considering you have no actual Parking upon arrival. God forbid it were the serious summer or Denver depth of winter ....OR NIGHTTIME!

Short stop on trip to see family. Was nice clean and friendly hotel.

The hotel could also be called an art museum. The western art is amazing. Good clean, quiet rooms with good showers and a bathrobe (loved that). Helpful staff and no waiting to check in or out, or to get the car.

Pricey. No breakfast included and valet parking was expensive. In the end it ended up costing more than I expected.

Wonderful hotel - not expecting so much in Aurora, but it was a real find. Great and friendly staff, beautiful room and public areas, cool bar. Enjoyed the art and sculpture around the building. Good restaurant there, Common Good. Very fresh and locally farmed food. We would definitely go back!

We love the esthetic of this hotel. We stayed here during the Annual Colorado Sparkler Softball Tournament - in 2024 my daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. She made me promise we'd stay here again in 2025. This hotel is gorgeous.

The PARKING :( Don't love walking to the parking garage. But the parking is FREE in the garage. It's a good walk none the less.

It was beautifully decorated and the food from the restaurant was good.

Everything from checking in to out was seemless and amazing. Everyone at the hotel went two steps extra through out my stay. Lovely concierge/security lady, reception amazing, operations guys who fixed my safe (my fault) within minutes, the amazing staff at the bar and restaurant, and the fantastic attendants who cleaned my room. I am coming back in a couple of weeks. Love this place. Diamond in the rough!!!
