Unfortunately we had a toilet clog situation on the first night with one of the rooms.

Clean and affordable

It was fine for one night in Duncan, the room seemed fairly recently redone. Location was close to downtown Duncan and Cowichan Bay

The room / windows are right on the parking lot and there are only blackout curtains and no sheers, so it was either dark or they could see in your room.

Great value for the accommodation. It was very clean and we could tell they’ve invested in updating the property. They also provided a pack and play. AC was provided in the unit, which was needed during the summer period.

There was a gap between the bathroom door and the bedroom (ie couldn’t lock the bathroom door), so you could peek into the bathroom when someone was using it.

I was able to check in early, it was very hot, and the room was nice and cool. The area was completely gated at night for security. When I was leaving the next day, the owner offered me some home made ice packs for my cooler which was greatly appreciated.

Check in was smooth, friendly lady. Beds were clean and comfortable. Room had AC unit. Bathroom was clean and shower was warm. I could park in front of my motel room. Checkout was easy, just drop card in mailbox.

Room was a little worn down. I heard some stomping from guests above my room. For a motel room, I thought it was quite pricey.

The property is modest with a clean room and bathroom providing all the necessities for my one night stay while biking on the island.

Very clean, small 3* Motel, nearby HW 1, but very quiet due to the location and Blocks before, excellent service, all necessary equipment available , full kitchen, onsitelaundry clean and @working The city downtown is in walkable distance. We have chosen the sushi at HW 1, excellent food!

It was clean but showed not much into proper maintenance. Room 2 door didnt close properly. I booked a room that showed pictures of the room with a bathtub. It wasn't that room or layout and only a shower. It was nice to know there was a gate that closed at 11 till 5 which was good as there is drug activity up and down the street.

The location was great. Very convenient since there are fast food, restaurants and grocery stores around. Well cleaned room for what you pay.

Very sparse utensils in kitchen, cupboard doorknobs difficult to reach, wobbly kitchen faucet. Small issues. It was a great space.

there were a few restaurants stores around. Staff was able to bring a kettle when the keurig machine wasn't giving hot water for french press. It was close to my venue which was 10 minutes away

I really didn't like that I had to leave a $200 DAMAGE DEPOSIT A sharp pitched alarm from the fire alarm went off 3 times between 3 and 4 am. THe person in the next room also woke up. the staff didn't think it was important and I told 3 of them and all said it was from outside or elsewhere but didn't believe me. THey said the person in the other room left early for work- but that was 6am... It was in a sketchy part of town that I wasn't quite clear of.

The room was fine, the garden was well looked after and the staff where very friendly. Very handy with the inhouse laundry.

Plumbing

The motel is a small family run business. We stayed there because we live on the north island and to drive back and forth from Victoria in one day is too much for us. The price of a room in Victoria was over $100.00 more for the cheapest alternative. The motel is a block from the highway and all we need is a quiet comfortable place to sleep before moving on. That is what we got.

Although no fault of the motel, this part of Duncan itself seems to have lots of homeless folks wandering about. Not a place I would want to spend much time exploring.

This motel is reasonably priced, especially during a busy weekend. It also lies right in the middle of Nanaimo and Victoria, making it convenient to drive around for visitors.

This is just a motel, so restrain the expectations on the services/amenities provided. The unit is not very sound-proof, especially for the design where two units are right adjacent to each other and sharing an entrance. A proper table is also missing in the room, making many activities harder.

Super helpful staff, issue with the TV and they came and swapped it out. Provided a kettle upon request. Deceiving from the outside but rooms are really well done up inside

The rest of the room was clean and tidy, the bed was really comfy, the TV had plenty of channels and a nice swivel stand. there was a fridge, microwave and coffee pods.

There was an annoying bright light on the air conditioning machine reading the temperature that lit up my whole room brighter than any nightlight when I was trying to sleep at night. The bathroom had ants.

While showering the faucet kept running hot water and the shower head was cool water. The bathtub also was not draining.

The lady at reception was so friendly and helpful. She gave us a free room upgrade upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. Our room seemed recently renovated and was spacious and clean. It was also lovely and warm when we arrived. The location was a short walk from food places and down town. It has gates that are locked overnight for security which we appreciated

The door to the bathroom didn't slide fully closed, which meant you had little privacy

Staff were AMAZING and so helpful and kind and clearly take on a LOT considering how busy the motel was when I was there. They did a great job of handling some minor issues with my room and making sure I left happy.

Pillows hard as a rock. Walls pretty thin.

Location was central to where we needed to be, good for walking our dog. Had fridge, coffee maker and microwave so that was great and beds were comfortable.

Room was dated and in need of many small repairs, I suspect it was left as is, as it is a dog friendly room. Overall quiet but other guests were quite loud our first night, chatting outside our door for a long period of time (Perks of a motel unfortunately) not too late but we were up very early to travel that day so 10pm was late for us. A group of Coit workers were up at 6am another day and chatting for a while outside our door. In fairness to motel it's hard to control peoples ignorance to others.

Great service, I booked the wrong day and they were able to help me fix even though was booked via third party. The room was stylish so clean and bed was amazing with fresh sheets :)

Good location. Quieter than expected. Interior of unit was well renovated. Handy to many restaurants, services etc.

Room heater is not very effective because heat pools at the ceiling (it doesn't circulate enough), and Bathroom vent fan runs continually, removing the heat & chilling the Bathroom. Keeping Bathroom door closed makes bed a bit warmer. A ceiling fan in bedroom area would help.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like a very firm air mattress. There was a persistent motor revving sound that kept us awake all night.
