The rooms were clean

No cleaning of rooms without a specific request. No ability to book a taxi for guests. Breakfast was very basic, not edible, paper plates and plastic cutlery is not what I’d expect either. Had to ask for water and coffee refills for our rooms, as that wasn’t automatic either.

Very expensive for what it was. The hotel is in disarray.

I had not travelled in 26 years and I wanted to treat myself to this place as it seemed nice and higher-end. I wanted a little pampering and luxury so I paid $2,200 and change to stay for 6 nights. They right away told me at check in that there is no housekeeping (??). I then noticed the cheapness. 1 ply toilet paper, 1 ply kleenix, I had to ask at the counter for everything I needed. In-room coffee and tea with cups ran out and I had to ask for more. I felt annoyed that I had to ask for things like a child. They didn't want to waste their products on their guests so they hide them and make us ask for everything. After 5 days my garbage was overflowing and I had to go to the lobby and empty it myself. For the money paid ~ I got ripped off. The service I received was MOTEL service not a luxury Hotel. I had to do all the work myself!

No housekeeping - what the heck is up with that? For the money I paid - nearly $300 a night - I should have received housekeeping and fresh towels and linens every day but I did not. I may as well have been at home.

Good location to other amenities and a nice outdoor pool.

Staff let a bunch of kids run up and down the hall screaming and yelling and trying to open doors. This was especially annoying as our door apparently didn’t close properly unless you really pushed it ( which we weren’t told ahead of time) so one of the kids literally ran into our room. We had to go ask the staff to get the parents to tell the kids to calm down, and even then they didn’t speak up and we had to say something ourselves, which caused its own issues with those parents as they didn’t like being asked to control their children. The pool was also closed for a full day while we were there making that amenity unavailable to us.

The room smelt. The toilet was backed up when we checked in . It was reported that evening nothing was done. I over heard the staff saying another customer have bugs in their room. The next morning the staff came in and flushed the toilet and said it was fine, I tried it and it did not flush again and it did not flush correctly. We had to get another room to get ready before check out. Also do to staffing issues the Resteraunt was closed. This could have been mentioned on the booking.com site

Breakfast was decent nothing special.

Close to the city The hotel was cleaner than 3 years ago.

Te quested a room away from the highway. Was put in a room overlooking the traffic. Very noisy.

Surprisingly quiet although right by the highway. Good sound insulation even in on ground floor room facing highway. Pool area is beautiful, set up in an enclosed area surrounded by pretty trees and flowering shrubs, nice and quiet and private oasis. BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS EXCELLENT!!! Cheesy scrambled eggs, nice crispy bacon and delicious hash browns plus all the regular breakfast items expected. GENTLEMAN RUNNING BREAKFAST ST BUFFET WAS SO KIND AND PROFESSIONAL. Highly recommended this hotel for a stay in Duncan area.

Bed was quite soft for my liking but that may just be me!

Beds, bedding and pillows were excellent. Our room was surpisingly quiet. Bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was good. Plenty of breakfast choices - but the toaster had a mind of its own. We were disappointed on our late arrival to find there was no water (!) However the plumber was there making the repair and all was fine. We were able to shower and sleep. I should like to apologise for being cross with the young man on reception, as the water problem was not of his making and he was doing his best to get it fixed at such a late hour. He did very well.

It’s quite near a busy road but we had a good night’s sleep. Our smoke alarm went off on the second morning at 5.30 which wasn’t ideal. Wouldn’t say the staff went the extra mile to apologise.

Paid over $200 for one night because we were excited to use the pool. Pool was not working when we got there, no mention of this on booking.com unfortunately.

I was only in the facility during nighttime hours, however, that staff were excellent. Whenever I have to travel to the Duncan area,, Best Western is where I stay. Safe, secure, and handy. Thank You all.

Your building is getting older, which can cause internal problems (structurally speaking) which are undetectable to the normal eye. This can be a good or bad thing but your staff is doing an admiral job of keeping up appearances. Thank You all, again.

Very small rooms. Bathroom tiny. Pool wasn’t open. Breakfast was very subpar. Only 2 towels in the room for a room of 4 people. Thin and rough.

The beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious Pwr friendly so we where able to bring our golden retriever on our stay.

No extra towels available in our room, our room was highway facing and extremely noiay due ro traffic sounds. .

Breakfast served way too late 7:30 . Highway noise. People noisy in the hallway for most of the night. Confusing parking.

We were placed in a room on the highway side of complex so it was very noisy with traffic all night!! Be sure to ask for room on the "Ford" side, which will be quiet and away from highway traffic. Also, intoxicated patrons came up to rooms after pub closed to wish their friend happy birthday and were very noisy and disrespectful of those that were sleeping. I told them to go elsewhere, so they just moved down the hall. Management were nowhere to be found to control this!

Location was fine as it was next to the TransCanada Highway - our room faced the hwy but was quiet enough to sleep at night the place was clean, breakfast was good with a variety of choices - access to the room was easy - lots of places to eat in downtown Duncan were close to the hotel

Hotel offered us early check in at 2:00 pm for a mere $ 30.00 extra charge - do they really think people will pay this after we already shelled out $ 275 for the night - this is a nice hotel but not worth that kind of money for Duncan

Reasonably priced, nice attached pub with great food and entertainment which was good because they’re isn’t exactly the best food selection anywhere close, warm outdoor pool, great beds and pillows, I can’t think of anything bad to say. Next time your even thinking of staying in Nanaimo drive here and stay instead

By Hwy 1 so very easy access. Room comfortable, clean and modern. Bathroom cozy but clean and modern. Good supplies. Courtesy breakfast is only a sit-in option so not great if you travel with a pet that you dont want to leave alone in your room. Overall very pleasant.

I was only staying 1 night on a work trip, it's a great hotel for this type of stay. The property conditoin is good, parking is great, nice new TVs and the pub/restaurant on the main floor was good and convenient. I would recommend this place for easy access from Hwy or for short-term stays for work or with family. Not much to walk to around the hotel, so expect to drive to where you are going.

Location is perfect

Staff were great, our dog even received a little welcome bag with some treats and doggie doo bags, nice touch. The restaurant was very busy, a good sign and it did not disappoint, it was very good. The breakfast was decent and had something for everyone. I didn't go in the pool but it looked decent. Room was great - the only complaint was the tub drained super slow while showering. Would recommend and at $200 was a good value.

Comfy beds. Average motel. Karaoke on Friday night was a riot to witness.

Staff shut me down when I claimed I was double charged. I had to follow up later with booking.com who helped me get refunded. BW Cowichan never responded. I left several messages. They took NO responsibility for this nightmare. A little follow up would have gone a long way.

Bathroom is small, needs better ventilation and needs new door. Cabinet housing fridge needs to be fixed. Breakfast was mediocre.

Liked that it was CLEAN and conveniently located. Loved the gym! Only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bathroom ceiling was unfinished. Like they renovated the property and forgot to finish the ceiling (see pic). Toilet seat was the wrong size for the toilet and uncomfortable using it as too close to the wall (could have been because of the incorrect seat).

Everything is really good. The food and server were particularly good at the attached restaurant.

Spent a night here with my family. CVI restaurant was an excellent choice for dinner. Free breakfast was okay. Not happy about only having two bath size towels in our suite as we are a family of four.

The place’s smells, the ac units make a lot of noise at night. The front desk made no effort to accommodate our needs. Will never stay there again. I’m not a picky person but this place is not worth it.

Unser Zimmer wurde nicht gereinigt. Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Andere Gäste haben zwischen 3 und 5 Uhr nachts sehr laut gefeiert, so dass an Schlaf nicht zu denken war. Rezeption war trotz 24 Stunden Service mehrfach nicht erreichbar.
