The bed was sinking in the middle. It was so bad I slept in one of the single beds. When we went to use the cutlery and crockery they were dirty, oily and needed to be washed before using. We were told the room would be serviced for our second day but all they did was removed the rubbish (minimal). Not all the lights worked, the clock was right twice a day. Very noisy road and train 24/7.

Our room was absolutely spotless and it didn’t take long to warm up

It is pet friendly which was great for us. The owners are lovely and helpful. Our unit was clean, warm with the aircon unit and loved having the little kitchenette with a lounge/tv space which was seperate from the bedroom and on-suite.

Good easy central location. Staff were accommodating for the late arrival. Room was very clean and well equipped. Shower was awesome.

The staff could have turned on the heat pump for our 9pm arrival instead we walked into a beer fridge unit which we had up keep our jackets on for 30mins till we waited for everything to heat up. Thankfully there was a heater in the bedroom and one in the bathroom too. The beds were like sleeping on concrete for someone who's not used to that with a comfie bed at home. The single beds also moved when you did.

I booked a room with shared bathroom and ended up in a cabin-like accommodation next to the RV/Holiday Park area behind the main building. The room/cabin had a queen sized bed (with a heating blanket!), a fridge, heater and chair and desk-like facility. Perfect location if you are in Kaikoura for whale-watching as it would only be a approx. 5 min walk in the morning. To the little town center also only 5 mins walk max. The supermarket is a 15 mins walk away.

The shared bathroom were the facilities also for the car campers. I did not expect this and was surprised as I wouldn't want to walk across the RV area to get to the bathroom. Unfortunately, the bathroom facilities had no main door and therefore it was extremely cold inside. Even though the room/cabin was basically fine, the whole place felt a little run-down. Walls between the different units pretty thin.

Our room was quite big with separate sitting room to the bedroom. Kitchen had all that we needed, toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave and all looked new. We were walking distance to town centre which was very convenient. Bed was very comfortable and appartment was plenty warm enough. Happy to stay there again and good value.

The bed was quite firm, which isn't our preference. The bathroom was lovely but really needs an exhaust fan. The whole room is soaked after a hot shower. Couldn't leave clothes in there to change into as they get soaked.

The only thing was it was a little noisy from the main road when sitting in the lounge. The shower gel had run out.

The host staff were freindly and helpful and followed up on enquiries. Shower pressure was good. Room size is good.

The noise in the room. Door has gaps and let in all traffic noise and vehicle fumes. Big trucks going past kept me awake. Uncomfortable, soft single bed. Poor fixtures and fittings.

Located 1/4 mile out of town. Road side motel and a small camp ground for RV's and trailers/tents. Easy in and out. Town was very nice and the drive south is assume, stop to see the seals and dolphins.

Room was tiny, furniture dated and parking outside cabin was tight, photos of room are deceiving, overpriced compared to other stays.

The location was close to cafes and amenities. The room and ensuite was compact, but had everything we needed for our stay. We had a room away from the road, so noise from the road and railway was less intrusive.

We were fortunate we had plenty of space with our unit, for parking, but had issues negotiating some of the paths/spaces with the car while parking to check in. Getting the TV to work was a mission. some instructions would be helpful

There were some minor issues that got resolved.
