We booked the 2 bed deluxe, as a little upgrade. Terrible decision- it backs onto busy road, and is next to communal block. There is a pump/mechanical noise that runs intermittently, including through the night. The windows in bedroom do not shut and seal, so we were disturbed all night.

Was a lovely trip away for our family. Staff very friendly and always a smile. It was never a problem when I asked for extra things cause coffee etc. the unit was lovely and warm and the beds comfortable

We stayed on a powered site for a few nights in May. The site is in a great location, easy to find, near shops, restaurants, fuel and is also great if you want to go on the whale tour nearby. It is a great base to explore Kaikoura. The site was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The facilities were great, very well maintained and clean. I’d recommend staying here when visiting Kaikoura.

Great amenities, the room was clean, warm and comfortable. The hot tubs were fantastic.

Only complaint was the shower head needed replacing it was broken and water was running out the bottom of it

The manager was a great bloke, friendly and helpful.

There needs to be an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The shower steam condenses in the cold toilet room and creates a puddle on that floor. Trucks drive along the road behind the cabin all day and night. If you wake at any time during the night, you only have to wait 10 minutes before you hear a truck drive by.

Just very small things, People before us had left dirty dishes in the cupboards and microwave, (I assume cleaner didnt check to see if things were cleaned?) as it does say thanks for doing your own dishes. Also the big gaps in the shower doors let all the water out and stepped out to a flooded floor, didn't have extra towels to soak up mess. Just those two things to look out for otherwise fabulous stay we will be back

Loved it here! Place was well maintained with clean and very comfortable beds. I loved that they gave you towels. The cabins are so cute the only thing I would hope for is a lite switch and outlet by the beds for reading and charging phones. Otherwise very nice.

The bathroom had sort of a sewage smell which was a bit off putting, and I would prefer the pots and pans and dishes to be in the kitchen instead of rooms so that you don’t have to bring everything back and forth, which was just a bit annoying. But otherwise everything was perfect!

The location is perfect for getting up early for whale watch. Spaceful and well-equipped. Staff turned on the AD before we arrived so the room is warm and cozy upon arriving.

However, AD is too old to operate well. We followed the instruction to adjust the temperature, then the fuse blewed. When It came back, AD couldn't work anymore. The reception had been out of hour so can't get any help. They have no additional heaters or electric blanket. So had a cold night. Not very satisfied with this.

Unit Amenities were great - utensils, dishwasher, wash machine. Staffs were super friendly. Game room was fantastic. Plenty of toilets.

The pay machine for billiards misfired a few times and ate our game credits without releasing the balls. It should be check for any errors. The barbeque was good though the flame strength was weak and cooking was slow. A small outdoor table to go with the outdoor bench on the villa units will be a nice addition for the outdoor experience. The bike rent should have shorter than 4 hours rent just like Top10 Hanmer. Perhaps consider too a bulk rent price if hiring more than 2 bikes? Finally, the pool was not operational when we visited, same as our previous visit last year.

Sauna

Fabulous location. Lovely and clean, grounds so well maintained. Spacious and comfortable seating/beds. Washer and dryer was a bonus!

Located right on the side of the highway, which we knew and so there was alot of traffic noise, which didn't really bother us but may bother a light sleeper. What was annoying was the large trucks idling on the side of the road for periods of time very late at night....it was just on the other side of the hedge and close to the bedrooms.

Welcomed with a smile at reception. As we had filled in the preregistration booking in was prompt and trouble free. Shown on our copy of the map where our pitch was and all the main amenities. Asked about joining too 10 club and all the benefits. If we weren’t on a holiday the other side of the world this would be a very good option and would pay for itself quickly. All things were clean and accessible. Children’s play area looks fabulous but maybe we’re a bit to old, Few restaurants in area but would have to check the times Also interstate 1 highway is mad and full of very big articulated Lorries. Be careful and you will have some road noise. But still highly recommended.

The units is newly renovated and amenities were fantastic. Especially loved the bathroom and toilets with the underfloor heating and being able to book the private spa.

The non-stick pans in the kitchen and the black plastic kitchen utensils. These should be replaced with either wooden utensils or stainless steel pans.

Excellent position in town with shops all around. Great facilities and sites. Definitely recommend this park.

We spontaneously decided to spend a night at the Kaikoura Top 10 as part of our 9 day campervan adventure. The grounds were well presented and had ample of fantastic facilities. Did not disappoint, fully recommended 😊

Near the town and the play area

Noise from the lorries with their engines running behind the hedge.

We had two nights at the Kaikoura Top 10 Holiday Park this week in a self-contained Studio Unit with its own small deck & dedicated parking. The park is well maintained and very well presented and out apartment was the same. Located towards the northern end of town, it’s close to cafes, restaurants and shopping and just a short drive to the Watch station. My only regret is that the park is located on State Highway 1, and the heavy haulage trucks run north to south day & night. I’m a light sleeper so I didn’t enjoy that too much. Try to get a spot on the eastern side of the park.

The heated floors in the wet areas. The beds were comfy and the unit was super spacious. Having washing and drying facilities was an added bonus

Had a great trip with the kids. Site was tidy for my caravan. The park is awesome for the kids with lots to do and play. Will be back again

Loved the holiday park

The caravan park is exceptionally well maintained. We were on a road trip and chose the small cabin for a two night stay. The smallest rooms are basically a bed in a shed but size can be deceiving. The bed was super comfortable with great quality linen. The interior was simple with a set of basic cutlery , crockery and cooking utensils - enough to prepare a meal in the communal kitchen. We stored out cold items in a labelled bag in the communal fridge and made meals there with other guests. The bathrooms were well maintained with the heater going and nice music! Despite my first impression of the size of the mini cabin it was perfect for my husband and I for two days. The TV was a smart tv so we could sit up in bed and watch Netflix etc. We checked out the other facilities - TV room with lounged, games room, BBQs, multiple picnic tables and lovely views. The walk to town was very quick. The laundry was well equipped.

I’d suggest two glasses be added to the basic kitchen kit in the cabin. Drinking my lovely drop from the Malbourough out of a coffee cup was my only gripe. Not everyone travels with wine glasses.

This is a lovely, well-maintained apartment that's perfect for a family stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily choose to stay again if we visit Kaikoura in the future!

The clothes dryer’s heating element is due for cleaning or servicing.

The site is well laid out with good spaces for the pitches. A short walk from the centre of Kaikoura. Good showers and toilets which are all very clean. 5 washing machines and driers which are paid by card so all very easy and helpful. Only issue is that it is between the main road through Kaikoura and the railway behind so there is some noise. Otherwise the site is very quiet.

We love the Top 10 camp sites around the South Island. Kaikōura camp is well set out and good amenities and clean.

We stayed in a cabin, and it was really nice and comfortable. Everything was clean and it has everything u need. They even supply pots and pan and utensils if u want to cook in the kitchen.

Location is so close to everything. Some great fishing off the beach behind it.

It was very clean and got everything we need. The location is great, really close to whale watch office. The staff are really nice and helpful too.

If it’s possible to replace the current hot and cold taps in the bathroom with a modern mixer tap, that would be great, as it’s quite difficult to get warm water at the moment.

The staff were amazing, the playground was great and it is in an excellent location. We absolutely loved our stay and would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Kaikoura, absolutely fantastic for families with small children.

The only thing I could suggest is having a rubber floor mat for the shower/bath in the self contained/motel units as it’s a slip hazard not to with little children or toddlers. Otherwise there is not much else I could comment on!
