The Tauranga on the Waterfront

Loved the hand and body wash available for purchase. Fabulous location and very clean and tidy with very good housekeeping. Loved our little sea view as well

The only minor improvement which we would have liked was a full wall between the two bedrooms in the family suite. As we were only there for 2 nights though, was perfectly managable

Not cleaned every day. Even if viditirs say dint bother. Theres a health and safety thing you need to say to guests. Towels need to be changed every day. All te, coffee, dried fruit, biscuits need to be replaced. Guests pay for this.

I liked how it was in the CBD.

The kettle was very dirty. My bed was opposite the toilet.

Location with water views, quiet yet a short commute to town restaurants (or a long walk)was convenient for us.

Closer to restaurants might be good but then you pay for this.

The price was steep for what it was. And the $250 bond was unexpected. I've never come across that before although it was refunded quickly.

People walking past early hours of the morning and can hear everything as there isn't double glazing. People in our carpark when we arrived late at night in the rain and again during the day. Staff were great when they were told asking them to move.

Great location. I enjoyed its proximity to the waterfront and walking along there. Room was very clean, well appointed.

Location is great, room is pretty soundproof, bed and pillows are comfortable.

Hot water pressure is quite poor, but we were there only for 1 night so not a big deal.

So friendly and accomodating. Great value with everything you need for an overnight stay (or longer). Bonus points for use of very efficient washer and drier.

Room was tidy. Staff were nice. Lady at reception left my heater on and some milk in the fridge prior to arrival.

Water pressure was atrocious. Would constantly sputter and intermittently cut out. Wi-fi was pretty terrible. The shower being locked to one temperature setting was disappointing. The name is also pretty misleading, as using "Waterfront" would imply some kind of nice view, rather than just a dark back street. Was also no mention online that I would have a $250 credit hold on my debit card as bond. Whilst this is standard practice in some places, in addition to the poor wi-fi and one-temperature shower, you get the feeling this place operates on a tight budget and has absolutely 0 trust in its customers, which goes to show the kind of demographic this place attracts. Not surprising since upon arrival, some dick in a clapped-out Toyota Altezza reversed pretty fast to exit the carpark, then proceeded to stall his engine. I can see the value for a family of 4 at $200 a night, but as a solo traveller it was not worth the cost.

Level 3 allowed an upgrade and our room was excellent 👌. Bed king size bedroom sleep ever. Location clean, quiet and loads of room. Loved it so much and value for money. We booked a second night. The Team here is outstanding, thoughtful and so accommodating. View amazing

This place is brilliant. Second time staying with them. Rooms are perfect size and this one had massive full length windows with an amazing waterfront view. Loved it!

The view was amazing

Perfect location for all activities and amenities we required. We had a waterfront room and the big open windows are wonderful to sit and watch the water.

Very nice and lovely. Shops were close by and the beach was down the road.

Nothing that I didn’t like

The location was central but quiet and very pretty. The unit was super spacious and easy to access. The bed was super comfortable and a very large king bed. There was a good TV and having the extra beds in the same room but separated by a wall gave privacy but not secluded. Check in was really straight forward and we loved the personal touch of fresh milk and the local made Toiletries and hair products they were incredible.

The hot water ran out after one shower. There was no couch which meant we didn't have anywhere to sit and relax to watch TV.

I think the only thing that would have made it a 10 would have been if it had the view from the pictures but I get it, I saw the note after that the one we booked was in the avenue

We loved our room. :) The room was really nice, very clean and with beautiful views over the harbour! Excellent facilities, heating and a nice bathroom. Lovely, friendly service from the motel receptionist I spoke to on the phone and our late check-in/early check-out was made easy and straightforward. We didn't have time to enjoy the room/views as we arrived in Tauranga late and had to leave early the next morning for our big event, but we would love to stay here again sometime when we can enjoy the room/views more and relax. :)

Was great place, clean, modern, staff so lovely and helpful! Heaps of space.

The bond, i still haven’t received refund a day later and i am a single mum who needed that money, i didn’t realise about the bond when booking the motel or i wouldn’t have booked, can you please put it in the “motel policy” people can see when booking and that you don’t receive payment back for a few days, might help others in similar situation.

Beautiful location and we were surprised and delighted to be upgraded to a waterfront room on the upstairs level. We had expansive views of the water. Hotel was walking distance to the cafes and restaurants

The staff accomodated our unexpected late arrival without issue. They responded promptly and helped make an otherwise bad day a little better. The room was extremely clean and well kept with incredible views. There are multiple cafes and ammenities within a few minutes walk. My partner and I are very happy with the value we recieved staying here and wouldn't hesitate to return!

Great spot, on the waterfront. Close to town. Big room with really nice kitchenette. I had an avenue facing room and it was lovely, but get one facing the waterfront if you can. They look fantastic. Having access to all the Sky channels was great!

Bed was comfortable but a bit too soft
