Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel

Los dueños fueron increíblemente amables, cálidos y atentos, y me hicieron sentir muy bien recibida y cuidada durante toda mi estadía. El desayuno estuvo absolutamente delicioso. El hotel es muy cómodo y disfruté muchísimo de la tranquilidad y del entorno del lago Kawaguchi. Lo que más aprecié fue la hospitalidad. Todos fueron genuinamente atentos y amables.

The owners were super nice!! We didn’t get the name but he was very patient and kind. It was raining when we arrived so he offered us some snacks while we were waiting for our room as they were preparing it for an early check in. He explained the area for us so it was great for comfortably getting around the area later. He was showing us around the facility, explaining everything in a meticulous way. The next day, as the free shuttle bus to the station service they offer, he drove us by himself and sent us off with water and candy. Highly recommended place! It should be noted that the facility is very traditional Japanese, so the onsen is essentially the shower and there’s a shared bathroom other than a small toilet in your private room.

The room was spacious for twin share accommodation. The location was ideal as we had a fantastic view of Mt Fuji from our window. The breakfast was traditional and great. The hosts were fantastic & helpful.

We had a wonderful stay and were truly impressed by the excellent service, delicious food, warm hospitality, and immaculate cleanliness. The hotel is run by a lovely elderly couple who take great pride in caring for their guests. Their kindness and attention to detail made our stay especially memorable. They even gave us complimentary water to take with us when they noticed us buying a bottle from the vending machine,a small gesture that meant a lot. They provides a shuttle service to Kawaguchiko Station, with the owner driving himself. Despite our requests not to, he insisted on helping us load and unload our luggage. Their hospitality was genuine and exceptionally thoughtful. The traditional-style breakfast was delicious, and the onsen was spotless and beautifully maintained. Having the onsen entirely to ourselves made the experience even more relaxing. The beautiful view of Mount Fuji was the perfect finishing touch. This is a place where traditional Japanese hospitality, cleanliness, and personal care truly shine. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay near Mount Fuji.

El hotel es simplemente ideal. El señor y la señora que lo gestionan son encantadores, superamables y atentos en todo momento; no nos faltó absolutamente nada. Es un alojamiento de estilo tradicional, por lo que tiene ese aire antiguo tan auténtico, pero impecablemente limpio. La habitación nos fascinó y la experiencia durmiendo en futón fue genial (era nuestra primera vez y dormimos de maravilla, súper cómodo). Además, tuvimos la gran suerte de tener vistas al Monte Fuji desde la ventana (¡adjunto foto!). En resumen, ¡todo perfecto! Repetiríamos sin dudarlo.

Felt genuine hospitality in this small property. Location is also optimal right near Lake Kawaguchiko removed from but still very close to the busier parts of town.

Mom and pop run hotel. Very hospitable people and the whole hotel felt very authentic. Shoes off, authentic bath, great breakfast. I only saw 2 ppl working the hotel the whole time, and it was the husband and wife who own the hotel, they work very hard and the entire operation is run by them. Very much an experience of a Japanese “bed and breakfast” vibe. And it has the perfect view of mt Fuji, that is very real.

The facility is visibly old but it did not make my experience worse.

Colazione super curata, un momento da godersi in tranquillità! L’ultimo giorno non abbiamo fatto in tempo a fare colazione, quindi i gerenti gentilissimi ci hanno dato la colazione da portare via!

My daughter and I loved this hotel. The owners were just so lovely and accommodating; the breakfast’s delicious; and location great - walking distance into town as well as the lake. The beds were very comfortable with extra duvets if you get cold. We had a magnificent view of Mount Fuji from our room too.

It is a little dated but that that did not bother us.

This hotel is simply fabulous. We stayed in a traditional tatami-style room with an amazing view of Mt. Fuji. The room was quite large and had everything we needed. There is an onsen on the ground floor. It is very convenient to use. It really felt wonderful after a long hike around the lake. On both days we had the traditional breakfast offered by the hotel. It was different each day and it was an experience. Well worth the price. The vegetables come from the hotel garden. The hotel is a two minute walk from the lake. The proprietor was friendly and very helpful. He provided rides to and from the train station, and plenty of good advice. His English is quite good. If you are visiting the area of the lake, this is where you want to stay. The photos I provided were taken from our hotel room window with different zoom settings.

I love this place. Very near to the Kawaguchiko Station (about 1.5km). The hotel manager is kind enough to fetch us from the station to the hotel (vice versa) using shuttle van. Hotel is super clean, breakfast is delicious, staff is friendly, and the onsen (hot bath) is a must try. Hotel rooms faces directly to Mt Fuji. Awesome. Thanks for the warm hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay and even though it was only for one night the host made us feel so welcomed! We also really appreciated him taking us to the station early in the morning even though he didn't have to. Overall we had a wonderful time there :)

The welcome was very warm and it felt like home instantly. The staff of the Ryokan is really kind and really helpful. They try to meet most of your needs even if you don't mention any. And if you do, then you can be sure they will do their maximum to help you out. The room was amazing, with an astonishing view. We've seen photos of the hotel / room, but we were nowhere close to the reality. The breakfast was a typical Japanese one with goods from the local area, I highly recommend it. The staff will guide you through all the surroundings information you need to know. We went for a bicycle tour of the lake after renting some at the location the staff recommended (it was very cheap) and that lead us to an unforgivable moment. The Mt. Fuji is everywhere and the views from around the lakes are basically postcards every time. There are a lot of others activities to do in the area, such as hikings. The hotel shuttle took us from the hotel to the train station so we can go for one. I might be forgetting some things I liked about the hotel, but one thing is for sure : you can book this hotel blindly, there is not a single chance you will be disappointed.

There is nothing that could have been better. Not a single thing was left off by the staff. Our one night stay at this traditional Ryokan was as good as it could be, for sure the climax of our 2 weeks Japan trip. We would have stayed longer if we knew beforehand.

The Onsen public bath is indoor, no window, no view.

The staff were super super amazing and tended to everything we could ever ask for. It is traditional style Japanese lodging and the staff is very attentive, while also giving us privacy of course. If you want corporate lodging where you never interact with staff, not for you. But you will miss out on the amazing benefits of a more intimate style experience in Japan. Also the view of Mt Fuji is amazing, breakfast is great if you want to pay a little extra of course, and the shuttle to the station is very convenient. Free wifi, luggage forwarding, laundry and certified onsen on site.

I booked Japanese style room 201 and it exceeded all expectations. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully traditional. The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. They personally gave me a tour of the entire property upon check in which made me feel right at home. The view of Mt Fuji from my room was absolutely breathtaking, waking up to see the mountain every morning was such a treat. The bus stop is very close by along with an easy place to rent bikes. The onsen was a highlight, available both morning and evening with a peaceful atmosphere. Truly a special place to stay near Mt Fuji. Thank you!

The location was great! Part of the main reason why I picked it too. Maybe 5-10 min drive from kawaguchiko train station. A less than 5 minute walk to the bus station (which will take you all around kawaguchiko / train station as well). And it’s right by a part of the lake! Not only that, but the property was very clean. Place is quiet! And the workers there and owner were soo sweet and accommodating. They also do complimentary shuttle service for pick up and departures.

Absolutely nothing! This place was 10/10.

The property has amazing views of Mt. Fuji and is located near Lake Kawaguchiko (with glimpses). It is close to the sight seeing bus stop, the Toy Museum and cafes. The room was beautiful - very traditional with tatami mats on the floor, light and airy and the most incredible view of Fuji-San from the window. The windows were triple glazed which would be important in winter and made the room quiet, despite its being on a fairly busy road. The onsen is wonderful - not too busy and the water is the perfect temperature. I had a sore knee and it made it feel better and I felt very relaxed after my soak.

There aren’t many restaurants nearby which are open in the evening and the property doesn’t have a restaurant for lunch and dinner. The bathroom is a little dated and small and the shower is on a diverter from the sink tap and so is difficult to operate.

Vi hade en fantastisk vistelse på hotellet och kan varmt rekommendera det. Ägarna, ett äldre par, var otroligt gulliga och tog hand om oss på bästa möjliga sätt. Vi har nog aldrig tidigare fått så personlig och omtänksam service. Trots att engelskan ibland var lite knackig gjorde de verkligen sitt allra bästa för att hjälpa oss och få oss att känna oss välkomna – vilket gjorde hela upplevelsen ännu mer charmig och genuin. Frukosten som serverades nere i hotellets restaurang och lobby var jättebra, och det var en perfekt start på dagen. Hotellet har dessutom ett fantastiskt läge med otroligt fina vyer över Fuji och nära till sjön Kawaguchiko. Efter långa dagar var det också underbart att kunna koppla av i hotellets onsen. Ett perfekt avslut på dagen.

The staff was exceptionally helpful. The hot springs were wonderful and we had the best view of Mount Fiji from our bed room. On our anniversary, they made it special with flowers and local gifts.

O melhor hotel e as melhores pessoas que conhecemos no Japão. O hotel é estilo japonês clássico, muito limpo, camas super confortáveis e decoração muito cuidada. Acordar e ver o Monte Fuji da janela é algo inexplicável. Não tenho palavras para descrever a forma como nos receberam e ajudaram em tudo o que precisamos. Recomendo a 1000%, um dia sem dúvida que vamos voltar.

Der Aufenthalt war traumhaft. Die Unterkunft ist wie beschrieben. Man hat tatsächlich aus dem Zimmer einen Blick auf den Fuji-san (siehe Bild unten). Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und nett. Das japanische Frühstück ist immer liebevoll serviert worden. Ebenfalls befindet sich die Buslinie 2 Gehminuten entfernt. Lokale und Supermarkt ist auch fußläufig erreichbar. Wenn sich die Möglichkeit ergibt, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.

Host, I apologize for the late review. This was the best accommodation of my life. First of all, you get so much for the price. The view from the accommodation is unbelievably good. It is a beautiful view where you can see Mount Fuji right from the room. Also, the host is so kind. Not only did they recommend great spots in Kawaguchi-ko, but their kindness, such as the shuttle service and snacks, really touched me. The warm hot springs are also wonderful. If you are considering visiting Kawaguchi-ko, I highly recommend staying here. 호스트님, 후기가 너무 늦어서 죄송합니다. 여기는 인생 최고의 숙소였습니다. 우선 가격 대비 얻을 수 있는 것들이 너무나도 많습니다. 숙소의 뷰가 말이 안될 정도로 좋습니디. 방에서 바로 후지산이 보이는 너무나 아름다운 뷰입니다. 그리고 호스트님이 너무 친절합니다. 가와구치코의 좋은 명소 추천은 물론이며 송영 서비스, 간식 등 호스트님의 친절함이 너무 감동을 주었습니다. 따뜻한 온천도 너무 좋습니다. 만약 가와구치코 방문을 고려중이라면, 무조건 여기에 방문하시기 바랍니다.

Absolument tout : l’amabilité du couple propriétaire, la situation géographique, à proximité immédiate du lac et du point de vue du lac sur le mont Fuji, la propreté (10/10 validé par une personne allergique très sensible) et le petit déjeuner japonais 100% fait maison. L’onsen est très sympa et l’hôtel fournit tout ce qu’il faut pour cette expérience : yukatan, shampoing, savon, après-shampooing, serviette … Nous avons opté pour la chambre avec vue sur le mont Fuji. C’est vraiment comme sur les photos voire mieux. Mille mercis pour votre accueil et gentillesse.

The staff were incredible! I especially enjoyed being able to use the onsen which drew water from a natural hot spring. It wasn't crowded during our stay, so I essentially had a private hot spring! The two people we interacted with were so kind and hospitable, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and understood how to take advantage of everything the hotel and the surrounding area had to offer. One of us even forgot jewelry in our room during checkout, and our host drove all the way back to the train station after initially dropping us off to make sure we didn't leave without our belongings!

There's not much I can complain about. If I had to be really picky, I wish the overhead light in our room was a slightly different shade. The lights are tinted slightly yellow, but that's the nature of that kind of light bulb, and it's entirely my personal preference.

So spacious after the cramped hotel rooms in Tokyo. Authentic Japanese rooms with tatami mats which felt so nice underfoot after all the walking. A very quiet and peaceful onsen. Went at 6.30am and didn’t see a soul. Lovely owner who was so welcoming and would greet and say goodbye every time you came and went. Very cosy rooms and of course, stunning views of Fuji!

Die Besitzer vom Hotel waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles war sehr sauber und im japanischen Stil eingerichtet. Das Hotel ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es hat Charm. Man bekommt extra Kleidung für den Onsen und ein wunderbares japanisches Frühstück.

Wie gesagt es ist schon etwas älter, aber das störte uns gar nicht. Der See und Fuji sind direkt zu sehen (wenn keine Wolken den Berg verdecken)

The room was large and we had plenty of space for all of our bags etc. The decor was old but then we anticipated that as it was a traditional Ryokan. The staff were fantastic and always willing to help, answer questions and give recommendations. The breakfast was good and more than enough food. The view from our room of Mt Fuji was really special as we could see her in all her glory. The onsen was good even though there was no view from it. This is not a modern hotel but one of the best stays of our trip.

The beds like everywhere were hard. Luckily they had a couple of extra pillows in the cupboard that helped with making it more comfortable to sleep.

It was truly a wonderful experience! Had a very welcoming host who picked us up and sent us to the station. Simple but hearty Japanese breakfast with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji from both the dining area and from our room. Would definitely come again 😁

The owner was so friendly and the Japanese Style room really cozy and had everything you need. I was lucky to have a stunning view of Fuji. The Onsen was great as well.

The hotel owner came to pick us up at Kawaguchiko station and was very helpful, giving us area and logistics tips. We traveled with our 2 year daughter, and we felt very welcome which is important when traveling with a baby. The room was clean and the hotel overall in good care conditions. Good location too, buses walking distance and just near the lake.

We didn't have good weather, but that's not the hotel's fault! Nothing to complain about :)

I loved see fuji by my windows, The experience about the tradicional house and traditional food.

The people running the hotel were absolutely amazing. So kind and welcoming. The room had the most beautiful view on Mount Fuji and the futons were very comfortable. Onsen area was clean.

What can I say, an absolute gem of a hotel. Perfect location, on the lake, close enough to everything but far enough for privacy. The view of Mt Fuji from our room was perfect, uninterrupted and majestic. The spa was an added bonus. Breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast which kept you going till 4pm (no word of a lie). But the best was our hosts. They were accommodating and super eager to ensure our stay was perfect. Picked us up from the station and dropped us off again making sure all our remaining trip was organised (especially immediate transport). It was a perfect stay!!!
