The location is fantastic. The view from the room is fabulous. It’s located on a very steep slope so you need to rely on the shuttle to get out unless you have a great fitness level. The stay price includes breakfast, afternoon tea and snacks during cocktail hour which was fantastic. I was celebrating my husband’s birthday and the team was amazing in organising the cake that I requested. We used the private onsen as well and it was beautiful.

Rakuyu is a traditional onsen hotel, people go there to use the baths and relax. It has a very calm atmosphere and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Our Japanese style room had an amazing view and great beds. We slept well and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast in the morning. The staff was super kind and helpful.

I felt it was a little tired in places, particularly our bathrooms. We didn’t know before we arrived that we could get a free shuttle bus so we climbed the steep hill with all our luggage to check in. If you have trouble walking, the hill to the hotel is challenging both up and down!

残念だったのは、エレベーターがなかったことです。高齢の両親を連れて来れない、健常者の友達しか連れて来れないことがとても残念。従業員も大変では？と心配しちゃいます。

Le cadre un peu froid, et je m’attendais à un établissement d’une qualité supérieure pour un 4 étoiles ( ex tissu des deux fauteuils de la chambre abîmés , pas de produits de beauté féminin)le personnel un peu froid . Nous avons demandé gentiment si il était possible d’acheter un yukata comme ceux fournis dans la chambre, la réponse fut sèche et brève : non! L’accueil reçu dans d’autres établissements dans le reste du Japon était plus chaleureux .. dommage

Quel vue, quel luxe!

È stata una piacevole pausa tra Tokyo e Kanazawa e siamo rimasti davvero molto soddisfatti del nostro soggiorno. La vista dalla camera era semplicemente stupenda e abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo la gentilezza e la disponibilità dello staff. La stanza garantiva grande privacy e abbiamo particolarmente gradito la possibilità di usufruire dell’onsen privata, un’esperienza davvero rilassante. Tutto è stato curato nei minimi dettagli e la lounge era un ambiente piacevole e ben organizzato, perfetto per concedersi un momento di relax. Un soggiorno che ricorderemo con piacere!

スタッフの人たち、外国人の方が多かったが親切で良かったです。 今回宿泊したのはロケーションの良さと部屋のお風呂が良かったからです。 食事もラウンジ方式は良かったです。

良くなかった点は特にありませんでしたが部屋に携帯充電器あれば助かります。 部屋の窓際の藤製の椅子が劣化で割れていたのが気になりました。 丁度足の膝裏が当たる部分なので。

La vista increíble , el hotel muy lindo!

Las vistas del hotel al lago son muy bonitas y está bien muy bien ubicado. Las habitaciones son de 10. Lo mejor que tiene el hotel es que incluye un snack por la tarde con mucha comida, bebidas, alcohol, etc. El desayuno también bueno.

Hay que subir una cuesta para llegar al hotel.

Very helpful staff. Definitely go for the booking option that has the lounge included. Breakfast, tea time, and cocktail hour were amazing with great dishes to either snack on or make your full meal. The view was exceptional over the water, and the private onsen was worth the extra fee.

The only issue with the property is the location where the only way to get to it is up a very steep driveway. But for me this was no problem, I’m very capable of walking and if I ever didn’t feel like walking after a long dinner you can always get a taxi to take you to the property! Just be aware that for the view you get the hotel is on the side of a mountain, meaning steep streets.

Rakuyu is a 5 Star ryokan. When you walk through the front door the staff offer warm greetings. The lobby and all the public areas are furnished in beautiful teak and the furniture is amazing. They have daily teas and happy hours in the Club Lounge, which is also beautifully furnished. The happy hours include a variety of wines, beers, sake, and alcohols and a wonderful selection of appetizers and small plates including sashimi and hot dishes. There is no need to go out for dinner. Perhaps the cherry on top was the onsen. Each of the men’s and women’s baths were about 10 meters in length and had full length windows so you can soak and look out over Lake Kawaguchiko. The rooms were well-furnished and vey comfortable. I have travelled throughout the world over many years and this is perhaps the best property I have ever experienced.

It does not have a view of Mt Fuji but the view of Lake Kawaguchiko was very nice.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were large with a great view. The onsen was perfect before and after our Mt Fuji hike and the club lounge kept us well fed!

Cet hôtel est idéalement placé avec une vue magnifique et a proximité du Mont Fuji. Les collations proposées sont également parfaites. Je recommande sans problème.

L’hotel dispone di una navetta comodissima da e per la stazione di Kawaguchiko che parte ogni 30 minuti. Vista panoramica meravigliosa sul lago, così come l’accoglienza (lo staff ci ha portato i bagagli in camera, non essendoci l’ascensore). Graditissima la merenda (dalle 15.00 alle 17.00) e l’aperitivo (dalle 17.00 alle 19.00 - sostituisce tranquillamente una cena) offerti dalla struttura. Molto ricca anche la colazione. Servizio onsen privata a pagamento molto carino.

Per quanto la vista sul lago sia pazzesca la struttura è rivolta di spalle del Monte Fuji. Migliorabile la manutenzione della camera e della onsen privata (qualche macchia qua e là e tatami un po trascurato). Orario colazione 7.30 - 9.00 da prolungare!

Prévoir de bonne chaussures fermées pour quitter l hôtel car 100 m en pente pour accéder aux rives du lac, formules : petit déjeuner, lunch etc.. excellentes. Le tout compris avec peignoirs et bains japonais est un plus. Navette pour rejoindre la gare. Une à deux nuits pas plus, c'est la campagne profonde...

Quiet, good view and spacious room

I would like to share some feedback regarding our stay. Firstly, regarding the ¥3,300 penalty for the misplaced room card, we were quite surprised by this charge. If the room card is considered important or costly to replace, I feel this should be clearly highlighted to guests during check-in, so that guests know in advance that there will be a substantial replacement fee if it is lost. To be honest, we have stayed in many 5-star hotels where replacement room cards are normally issued without such a charge. Moreover, the room access system here appears quite ordinary from a guest’s perspective. Therefore, being informed of a ¥3,300 penalty only after the card was misplaced does affect the overall guest experience. If this is an important hotel policy, clearer communication from the beginning would make it feel much fairer. Secondly, I would also like to comment on the meal arrangements. The meal periods are relatively short — breakfast from 7:30am to 9:30am and dinner from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. More importantly, we noticed that around an hour into the meal period, many food items were already running low or were no longer available. If the meals are presented as part of the complimentary hospitality offered to guests, I feel they should be replenished sufficiently throughout the stated dining hours. A complimentary meal should still make guests feel warmly hosted and well taken care of, rather than feeling that they need to arrive early in order to have a proper selection.

Breakfast stops too early, check out too early. Onsen timing somewhat inconvenient. Hotel itself is nice, just work towards the timings your costumers would really appreciate. For instance bfast till 9:30 and c/o till 11am to start with. Pretty basic in almost every hotel around the globe.

Food was good. Provided transport services to the main station which made it easy. Onsen was amazing with the view.

The table in my room was a tad bit dusty when I checked in. I thought that I would be sleeping on a futon not an air mattress but that was very comfortable too.

O hotel fica em um lugar no alto de uma montanha.

Ruime kamer met uitzicht over het meer. De drankjes en het eten in de lounge waren een meerwaarde!

De weg naar het hotel loopt steil omhoog, waardoor het wandelen zowel naar boven als beneden moeilijk is. Je kan wel de shuttledienst naar het station nemen.

La vista es bonita. El baño privado onsen es relajante. Es muy tranquilo el lugar.

Pésima ubicación arriba de la montaña, para bajar a caminar es un infierno. Todo el personal es déspota, burlón y prepotente, sin mencionar que no conocen la zona para recomendar actividades. No hay servicios serios de comida en el hotel con horarios flexibles y, dada la mala ubicación, puede ser perjudicial para cenar algo después de las 7:00pm (hora a la que cierran su lounge). El lugar es sucio y viejo. En general, parece que es un lugar en el que dan lo mínimo, pretendiendo que sea lo máximo.

Als tätowierte Person war mir der Zutritt zum Bad untersagt. Ich musste ein Privatbad buchen, was aber ganz hübsch war.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals, Die Lage, der Ausblick, das Essen, die Sauberkeit, der Service. Wir haben eine Nacht auf dem Mt. Fuji in einer der Hütten verbracht. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob wir unser schweres Gepäck dort aufbewahren dürften, bis wir wieder zurück sind, obwohl wir erst den Folgetag gebucht haben, wurde direkt positiv geantwortet. Auch kann man sich vom und zum Bahnhof mit einem eigenen Shuttle transportieren lassen.

Der Ausblick war wie erwartet sehr schön. Alle Einrichtungen waren sauber. Der Shuttleservice zum Bahnhof ist sehr praktisch.

Das Essen in der Unterkunft ist eher spartanisch, für die Anzahl der Gäste erschien es zu wenig und war auch nicht besonders lecker. Für den gezahlten Preis haben wir uns insgesamt ein bisschen mehr erwartet.

Fantastic views over Lake Kawaguchi from the room, which made the stay very special. The complimentary tea time and evening aperitivo were a lovely touch and much appreciated, especially since dining options nearby were limited during our stay. The staff were kind, welcoming, and able to communicate in both English and Japanese. The onsen was relaxing, and I was fortunate enough to have it to myself every time I visited. Tattooed guests are accepted, which makes the hotel accessible to many international travelers. The shuttle van to and from Kawaguchiko Station was very convenient, and the location allowed me to walk down to the lake early in the morning to enjoy beautiful views of Mount Fuji at sunrise.

The hotel is located on a steep hill, so be prepared for a climb and some cardio. The property feels somewhat dated and could benefit from renovation and modernization. While the natural setting is beautiful, we noticed quite a few large spider webs around windows and other outdoor areas, suggesting they had been there for some time. Finally, compared to some traditional ryokans we stayed in, the atmosphere felt more geared toward international tourists and a bit less authentically Japanese.

Our stay at Rakuyu was absolutely exceptional and exceeded every expectation. The views were simply breathtaking, making every morning and evening feel special. The property was spotless, and the attention to cleanliness was evident throughout our stay. What truly made this hotel stand out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our experience memorable. Their hospitality was second to none. The food was another highlight. The breakfast offered an outstanding selection of fresh, high-quality options, and the evening dinner was equally impressive with delicious dishes and excellent service. From the stunning scenery and immaculate rooms to the outstanding staff and exceptional dining, every aspect of our stay was perfect. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and unforgettable experience, and we can't wait to return.

Schimmel an der Decke im Badezimmer. Auf Anfrage ob uns etwas Essen beiseite gelegt werden könnte weil wir es zu den offiziellen Zeiten nicht mehr zurück schaften wurden alle Vorschläge verneint, fanden wir bei der Preisklasse schade die fehlende Flexibilität. Personal war allgemein im Vergleich zu dem Personal das wir davor in Japan gesehen hatten unaufmerksamer/unfreundlicher.

The location and the lounge were the best about our stay. It's a beautiful walk to get there and easy with hand luggage. If you are not traveling light they ca arrange a pickup. The Lounge with food, snacks and drinks that turned out to be included in the room rate was a very nice surprise! The hotel has amazing view a the more quit lake and you can make beautiful walking trips day and night from the location.

不知是因為在booking訂房還是台灣人的關係 給的房型面湖景落地窗前硬生生的有一根醜陋的電線杆檔住美景，而其他老外的房型都是在最好的樓層最好的湖景！ 湖景是漂亮的，雖然號稱有下午茶跟輕食可以享用，但缺品項時都要很久很久才補，一補上來沒水準的老外挾的份量超多，到第三第四位時都沒了又要在等個20~30分鐘才願意補上，感覺就是怕人吃....... 要訂房的要想清楚，這價錢應該可以選其他飯店會比較舒服.

The view from the hotel, and our room, was spectacular. So beautiful in fact that my partner proposed in our room!!! Our room was clean, comfortable and I can't say enough about the view. The drinks reception and "snacks" in the evening was absolutely incredible - wine, beer, spirits, prosecco, sake all available for self pouring. The food included sashimi, ramen, steak, salads and some hot food - all absolutely delicious. The hotel ran a shuttle to and from the train station which made getting around super easy. The staff were friendly and informed and made the stay a delight. Our only regret is we didn't stay more than one night!

Please note it is up quite a hill! It's fine if getting shuttle to and from train station but something to note if you are walking back to hotel after being down by the lake!

The hotel is cosy and have everything conveniently available. The lake view in our room and onsen is stunning and the onsen space also has a small sauna room. They even have complimentary buffet style afternoon tea and evening cocktails which is a bonus and we don’t need to go outside looking for dinner. Highly recommended.

We got there by car. The road up to the hotel is narrow and steep. Though we were told it meant to be one way lane, there is no sign and a vehicle tried to push through from the wrong side which made us panic for a moment.

La habitación tenía un gran tamaño, muy bonita y unas vistas espectaculares. El servicio en general del hotel es estupendo, tanto el trato del equipo como las instalaciones, baño termal y la parte del lounge.

酒店前台经常没有人，泡澡的时候有陌生人进来偷东西，全程在那转悠又不泡澡。酒店到店又让我加钱入住，而且不是帮我在网上找合适的价格。

One concern that I had is, the staff were not replenishing the foods for the cocktail hours, even though it was only 6 pm. There were empty bowls and the guests were furious. They eventually served new foods but they should have been more efficient.

De tudo! O quarto era muito espaçoso, bonito, bem decorado, com todas as comodidades. Camas confortáveis. Tudo limpo e bem cheiroso. A vista para o Lago de uma janela que era do tamanho da parede. A casa de banho espaçosa e com excelentes produtos de higiene. O banho público sossegado e com vista maravilhosa. O restaurante onde nos ofereceram 2 refeições: chã/cocktail às 15:00 e lanche às 17:00 com muita variedade e com qualidade (inclusivamente bebidas: alcoólicas e refrigerantes). Funcionários muito atenciosos e acolhedores.

De não ter ficado mais dias! O acesso ao hotel é uma subida de cerca de 200 metros com alguma inclinação. Custa um bocadinho fazer a pé e com malas, mas depois de chegar esquece-se. Não usamos o serviço de transfer da estação de comboios até hotel, o que teria evitado este esforço...
