We arrived early due to a change in ferry service and Ginn and Matt were super helpful in letting us check in early. Very much appreciated. Ginn gave us some great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. We loved staying here so much we have changed our itinerary so we can stay again another night.

The kitchen appliances were not clean. Kettle was also so dirty on the inside. There was white dried layer inside it. I had to wash it 10minutes as soon as I checked in late at nights, cleaning the kettle was the first thing that I did.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2026Great location. Easy check in and check out. Even better, very easy parking. I enjoyed the view as well. It was nice to wake up to the mountains. Other thing is you're just down the street from the Town Centre which I didn't mind either.
Honestly not much, just you could hear the person next to you, but that was a minor thing overall.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2026The room was in a loverly quiet part of Kaikoura across from the beach and with stunning views of the mountains. It well appointed; it had ranch sliders from the lounge and bedroom onto the garden and there was a lovely path to walk by the beach, which was handy with a pushchair. The garden at the front was ideal for our wee toddler to play in and we had chairs and a comfy couch outside too. The beds were comfy and our toddler slept well in the travel cot, which has a thick mattress.
The staff didn't do a clean or empty the rubbish bins; I'm not sure if this is something we were expected to do but it was no biggie as there were bins for general waste on the complex and given, we were only there for two nights.

Reviewed May 9, 2026Wow! We arrived late and woke up to the most spectacular view of snowcapped mountains across the bay. Our hosts were so thoughtful in heating our room, puttting fresh milk in the fride and providing self check-in. A really cosy, quiet room with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Such a great location as an easy walk to shops and to the popular Kiakoura Peninsula Walkway and the seal colony. Another bonus was being so close to the Pier Hotel which serves the most delicious seafood - on our two visits we thoroughly enjoyed the seafood chowder, fish of the day and the seafood pattter that we shared. Such a beautiful location.
