Reviewed Mar 27, 2026I had a really great experience at Potch Manor Guesthouse. The location is fantastic—super convenient and close to everything you need, which made the stay even more enjoyable. One thing I really appreciated was how they handled breakfast while their kitchen staff were off. Instead of skipping it, they provided vouchers for a nearby restaurant, which was a really thoughtful touch and worked out perfectly. Overall, a comfortable and well-managed place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it and would happily return.

From the warm welcome on our first day to the thoughtful accommodations made throughout our stay, everything exceeded our expectations. We were in Potchefstroom for my daughter’s graduation, which meant a busy schedule with makeup appointments, hair installations, and photography sessions. Almari went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. She even offered the main foyer for our photoshoot — a gesture that made our day even more special. The breakfasts were delicious, and on our final morning, she kindly extended breakfast hours so we could sleep in after a night of celebrating. That level of personal care meant so much to us. A special mention goes to the lovely lady who assisted us on Wednesday. Although I regret forgetting her name, her warmth, exceptional customer service, and genuine kindness made us feel truly cared for. We felt her love in every interaction. Everything about our stay — the staff, the room, the food, and the overall service — was simply perfect. Thank you, Potch Manor, for making this milestone so memorable. I will definitely book again whenever I return to Potchefstroom.

We bathed with cold water in the morning I notified them at 5 am that the water was cold and it was not attended to immediately.

Reviewed Oct 18, 2025The rooms are dark and beds uncomfortable and hard. Accessibility to the toilet is obstructed by a sink. The wardrobes are in the bathroom. Brown bedding (from sheets to the throw) 1 plug point. Brown walls, brown bedding, brown curtains, brown paintings. All really makes for a dark, small and dull space that doesn’t aid relaxation. The facility has no amenities such as garden or pool and should therefore improve the rooms.

Bad Administration. I had a problem booking, then tried to confirm my booking telephonically, but nobody attended to me. Upon arrival at the property, they denied my booking, until I showed my confirmed booking on Booking.com, then only the truth came out.

Unfurnished spaces, bare minimum coffee and water, not replaced after the first night of stay. No hand towel at bathroom sink. While breakfast were not available for guests, a bridal group had breakfast at 7 in the morning and woke us up as the noise were clearly heard in our upstairs room. Lack of furniture might be the problem. Our personal belinging that was neatly packed plus out toiletry bags were all moved and packed into the closet, sochad to be rearrange again, have never encouneterd this anywhere in the world. Very expensive.

There is not much effort put into additional comforts in the room. There is only the bare basics, unlike what is usually found in a boutique guest house. The extra blanket had hair of a previous person on it.

The Lady told me to take a room that I did not book because she dont want to put the geyser on of my room. The Tv wasnt working for my 2 days visit . There was not enough toiletpaper and coffee and the second day there was no towels ! She charged me an extra R 400 for the so called beter room that I dont even ask for ! I will never stay there again and i will not recommend it to anybody ! It was very bad !
