Harbour Hotel Fowey

On arrival the staff were very helpful and polite, the room was perfectly clean and despite being listed as a partial view of the sea, we had a great view all the way up the river. Complimentary gin & tonic were a great addition. Continental breakfast (the listing says very good breakfast - it certainly is but beware that cooked is extra, although cheaper if you tell them in advance). Parking is quite restricted make sure you ask for a slot early on during your booking, otherwise you will have to use the main Fowey car park 5 minutes away.

Not much! Parking was a bit of a hassle but I had no problem with the 5 minute walk up to the town car park.

Great hotel with beautiful views. Fowey is a wonderful Cornish town to explore as well. I would stay here again.

Limited parking space which isn't sufficient to accommodate all guests. The public car park is a bit of a steep hike. Booking parking with the hotel in advance is a must. It's a shame the booking.com isn't able to flag this, as I'm sure it would have been flagged by the hotel had I booked with them directly.

Wonderful views and super staff. Our second stay.

Sadly both rooms had some staining on carpets. Arms on chairs in one room very stained. Some chairs in restaurant area we noticed had become literally threadbare. As dog owners ourselves, was very suprised how many people arrived with dogs and not all small ones. How clean does that make the majority of carpets in rooms? Concerned about baby crawling around on these carpets. Hopefully there are dog free rooms.

The view is stunning, and the staff are helpful. The bonus of a few parking spaces if you book early enough, saves you a walk up a very steep hill!

Das Hotel ist das erste am Platz! Tolle Aussicht, freundliches Personal! Fähre gleich am Hafen, nette Pubs und Restaurants. Aussenschwimmbecken gleich die Straße runter vom Hotel.

Parkplatz wurde freundlich reserviert, andere Hotelgäste stellen sich aber einfach drauf. Parkplatz am Hotel sehr eng und begrenzt. Dafür aber Super -Aussicht vom Hotelzimmer. Auf Café-Kapseln im Zimmer achten, wird nicht immer nachgereicht, selbst auf Anfrage nicht. Restaurant: Abends könnte das Essen besser sein. Aber tolles Ambiente und sehr freundliches Personal!

Fabulous location, really nicely done hotel. Relaxed service, perfectly attuned to the venue. Room was excellent, shower even better - always important! If you’re driving, book the parking without fail.

Nothing much not to like. The pillows were dreadful - there you are. Hard and lumpy - I suspect they’d been badly washed/dried.

There was a faint odor from the pipes in the bathroom that was unpleasant and the internet worked very poorly.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à l hôtel Harbour. Dès notre arrivée très tardive, l accueil fut très attentionné et chaleureux. Les chambres sont spacieuses, très propres, la literie hyper confortable, la vue sur la rivière superbe. L hôtel est très sympa, une belle ambiance au bar et au restaurant, un emplacement parfait. Le personnel est extrêmement agréable et professionnel.. nous recommandons à 100% et y reviendrons avec plaisir !

Plus d eau chaude pour la douche le dernier matin... et rien à voir avec l hôtel mais le bruit intense des travaux dans un bâtiment voisin le matin ....

There was nothing to dislike

great reception even phoned a few days befor to reconfirm booking.

Parking though reception tried hard to solve parking nose to tail issue blocking the drive.

We booked a double room with partial view and were very pleased, see pictures. The staff were extremley professional, answering questions ahead of our arrival, ensuring we had parking and dinner reservations in place. Food was superb, great choice of continental breakfast and reasonable upgrade for cooked breakfast when booking in. Evening meal on the balcony was perfect! On arrival and throughout our stay all staff were helpful, welcoming, friendly and polire at all times, offering advice on where to visit locally.

If we were to be picky, would suggest air condition for future, however a modern rotating fan was already in place upon our arrival - we would also suggest no dogs in restaurant.

Délicieux petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de choix ! La localisation est parfaite, proche du ferry, proche d'une plage, un peu à l'écart du centre mais juste à côté à pied. La vue est incroyable, on peut en profiter depuis la chambre mais aussi depuis le salon, la salle à manger, la terrasse ou encore le jardin. Tous les espaces sont bien décorés.

The hotel location is very good as were breakfasts and lunch. Staff were very polite and helpful. The sea facing room was well furnished with good view.

Our first room was unfortunately over the outside terrace which meant smoke came into our room and we could hear people talking just below us until the early hours. As it was very hot and with no air conditioning we had to open the windows to get some air in. We were able to change our room to a higher one for the second night and this one was absolutely fine. We enjoyed our stay but felt that the price charged was excessive even for high season.

We stayed in the hotel as a family of five and enjoyed it so much. The room had beautiful view on the harbour and one of the most memorable moments of our entire trip to Cornwall was looking at the harbour in the mornings. The hotel itself is nice and clean, staff is very friendly. Breakfast was good. Hotel is well located and it is convenient to get to the town center.

Posizione pazzesca, ottima cucina.ben curato, ottimi arredamenti.

Parcheggio non disponibile se non a pagamento. Oppure in parcheggio comunale vicino ma non agevole soprattutto se si hanno diversi bagagli . ( sempre a pagamento) Servirebbe un servizio di valet e sarebbe perfetto. In reception potrebbero esser più gentili.

Room was a little on the small side.

The location is absolutely fabulous, and the hotel is excellent. Well worth spending that bit extra. I also got an upgrade on my room and it was brilliant.

Very limited parking and a walk to the top off the hill to the carpark, though there is some on street parking nearby. I would suggest asking for parking as soon as you book.

The most beautiful location overlooking Fowey! Breakfast on the terrace each morning was like something out of a film. The room was big and spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were really lovely too. I also loved that it’s dog friendly! So many gorgeous dogs everywhere.

The rooms were a little dirty in areas. Stains on the carpets. I assume these could have been from previous dog guests, maybe they should have a number of rooms kept separately for doggie guests. The breakfast is fine. It was the same every morning. If you wanted something hot, you had to pay an extra £10.

Stunning property! We were upgraded to a junior suite with sea view and it was a stunning view! We had dinner in the restaurant which was amazing. We also had cocktails on the balcony watching the sun go down. A few minutes walk into town too. Top tip - Book parking in advance!

Beautiful small hotel in a fantastic location only 5 minutes walk from Fowey town centre and just a couple of minutes down to the waterfront. Staff were incredibly helpful during our stay. Our room was spotless with views across the water.

There was construction work right outside my balcony (men were on my balcony) that woke me up before 8am every morning which honestly tarnished my experience. I’m not the complaining type but this really annoyed me.

Super Lage, traumhafte Aussicht. Wir hatten Deluxe Zimmer mit Merrblick. Sehr komfortable Bezten. Sehr gut renoviertes Bad. Extrem freundliches Personal- ochvwsr zum schwimmen in der Bicht direkt unterhalb des Hotel schon um 6.45 Uhr wach und bekam freundlicherweise und obwohl die Kaffeemaschine noch nicht hochgefahren war einen Kaffee aus der Personalküchr

Zimmer bei Außentemperaturen um 30 Grad mit Meerblick sehr warm, Fenster lassen sich nur teilweise öffnen, aber das ist bei einem so schönen Haus aus den fin de siècle absolut verzeihlich- es gibt große neue klappbare Holzfensterläden, die helfen abzudunkeln

Gorgeous views and lovely public spaces. Our room was spacious and comfortable.breakfast was delicious.

The bathroom was very small in relation to the size of room - the basin overhangs the toilet. There was scaffolding over the front of the building which wasn’t flagged up to us beforehand. Our room’s view was unaffected but others will have been as was the view from the public spaces and access to the terrace. We were not told that the breakfast stations in the two dining areas were different, wondered where the toast and croissants were!

very confusing as breakfast was included , however we found out only on the second morning it was only continental breakfast. this was not clear. the hotel wanted to then charge us for the breakfast . not good. also the room allocation was poor , possibly the worst room in the hotel.

hotel trying to charge me for breakfast on checkout . after the first morning giving me a menu. i then pick a full english . then the second boring i have the menu taken away and staff telling me my rate doesn't cover full english . this is unclear as when i booked i looked at the room and price and if breakfast was included. and it was . then on checkout they wanted me to pay for something i thought was included.

The location of the hotel was fantastic with great views and location to the centre.

Due to the heat the lack of air con in the rooms was a problem for us, a fan doesn’t cut it when you’re paying £300 a night, for example most premier inns have air con.

Ease of check in and very helpful staff. Our room was palatial. Bar terrace had a lovely view over the sea and estuary.

Car parking was completely sold out meaning having to use the public one down the road. Only minutes by foot away though and not a great hardship. Noise from trucks doing pre-dawn deliveries and at one point an emergency water repair team working at 2am were a nuisance though.

Nonostante non sia semplice da raggiungere data la poszione terrazzata in un paese con strade strette e tortuose tipiche della Cornovaglia, l'albergo è in una posizione eccellente con un'incantevole vista sulla baia ed il villaggio di Polruan. Consigliamo vivamente le camere fronte baia. Ottimo il ristorante.

Tutto bene. Forse una maggiore empatia da parte della reception, a volere essere pignoli.

The room was spacious and clean but very stuffy. The windows would only open ever so slightly and with no air con, made it a bit uncomfortable in this hot weather. Will definitely revisit but would aim to get a different room with bigger windows!

Everything , from the moment we arrived until we left .The staff were great, friendly,helpful . This was a special occasion ,the room was super ,great views .The bed was so comfortable ,and the bathroom etc was very clean .The restaurant staff were very good ,and attended to all our needs evening and breakfast.

Not being able to park in the car park ,so had to park in the long stay town car park .Although fine walking down to the hotel ,walking back to our car was a steep climb .So anybody with mobility issues this would be difficult .

Parking always a problem but have managed 3 nights before. This time only 1 night and we had to move to St.Finbarrus. Big inconvenient at ages 80/82. Menu could have had a bit more variety.

Great location and room with sea view. Good breakfast and great dinner. Pre-booked parking with guests' name is a nice touch and avoided an awkward situation in the car park.

Room wasn't made up after our first night which we understand it should have been. Didn't matter too much. Windows of room were rather dirty but clearly accessibility is an issue.

The staff did their best to keep us cool through the heat wave. The room had a small fan but it just wasn't enough for a double aspect room that got sun from noon to dusk. A conventional room fan was found and appreciated.

No car park space, but we did book very late (on the day)

The manager was very friendly and helpful. The location is superb. The hotel is very comfortable and clean.

Would have been good to have a sitting area other than the bar. However, if the weather had been better we could have sat out in the lovely, big garden.

Die Lage ist sensationell; das Restaurant ist absolut zu empfehlen. Wir waren bereits vor 4 Jahren schon mal hier; allerdings eine deutliche Verschlechterung zu damals.

Das Hotel war eingerüstet, ohne dass es uns vorher mitgeteilt wurde. Entgegenkommenderweise wurden uns £ 100 gutgeschrieben. Die Zimmerreinigung ist unterirdisch. An einem Tag wurden uns die bereits auf dem Boden liegenden Handtücher wieder aufgehängt. Ein Benutzer Waschlappen wurde fein säuberlich wieder zusammengerollt. Absolut widerlich und eklig! Die Hilfsbereitschaft an der Rezeption war nicht zufriedenstellend. Zwei davon sehr freundlich, zwei weitere eher abweisend.

There is some building work going on currently, which we weren’t warned of but the staff had been told by senior management that we had been made aware of. They were very apologetic for this. It was only bothersome in the day time.

Wir wurden nicht informiert, dass die Fassade vom Hotel gerade saniert wird. Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Ausblick gebucht, welches durch das Baugerüst sehr eingeschränkt war. Auch konnte man aufgrund der Sanierung das Fenster kaum öffnen. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, auch das Badezimmer war sehr klein, dort fehlte es an Ablageflächen. Preis/Leistung passen hier nicht. Da wir uns bzgl. der Sanierung beschwert haben, wurden uns die Kosten für den Parkplatz und für das Frühstück erlassen, ein wirklch kleiner Ersatz, hier hätte es eine weitaus höhere Preisreduktion geben müssen. Wir haben das Hotel nur wegen der Aussicht gebucht und haben am Abend extra im Restaurant wegen der Aussicht reserviert gehabt. Leider fand das Hotelmanagement es nicht notwendig die Fenster zu putzen und gestapelte Stühle, die zusätzlich die Sticht auf die Bucht versperrten, weg zu räumen. Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber auch hier passt das Preis/Leistung nicht. Auch beim Servicepersonal gibt es Schulungsbedarf. Weiters gibt es zwar ein kleines Frühstück, welches im Preis inkludiert ist, jedoch muss man für warme Speisen (Eierspeis etc) einen Aufpreis zahlen, ich fand dies sehr unverschämt. Auch entsprach die Auswahlmöglichkeit des Standard-Frühstück nicht einem hohen Standard.

Über einen Hinweis bei Buchung der Unterkunft für drei Tage, wäre ein Hinweis über die momentan stattfindenden Renovierungsarbeiten sehr gut gewesen. Das Hotel war halt komplett mit einem Baugerüst ummantelt.

Altes vergammeltes Hotel bis auf die Bar und die Lobby komplett sanierungsbedürftig

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage und das Personal ist sehr, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, hell und sehr schön maritim eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und der Hoteleigene Parkplatz sind zwar etwas eng, aber es gibt viele Parkplätze. Leider war um das Hotel ein Gerüst, aber es hat kaum gestört und irgendwann müssen die Schäden repariert werden. Zudem wurde dies nach der Buchung gleich mitgeteilt.

Der Kühlschrank im Zimmer war recht laut und leider war im Schrank kaum Platz für die Kleidung. Aber das sind nur Kleinigkeiten, die nicht stark gestört haben.

Die Aussicht ist fantastisch! Fowey ist ein charmantes kleines Dörfchen und liegt am Hang zum Fowey River. Das Haus ist etwas älter aber sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit Liebe gestaltet. Das Essen im Restaurant war hervorragend. Der Service insbesondere von der Managerin ist perfekt.

Wir wurden nicht unterrichtet, dass zur Zeit die Fassade renoviert wird und dadurch die Aussicht behindert ist und die schöne Terrasse gesperrt war. Die Fenster im Zimmer lassen sich nur einen kleinen Spalt öffnen und es war sehr heiss im Zimmer. Unser Bad war winzig und der Einstieg in die Badewanne zum Duschen erfordert eine gewisse Beweglichkeit. Im Zimmer gibt es sehr wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten für Kleidung und die knarzenden Dielen waren sicher keine Freude für die Nachbarn. Die Parksituation ist sehr beengt.
