Very accommodating, Louise was brilliant. And other staff too
nice place, GREAT food, big room, great bathroom, comfy clean and nice
I love staying here, and have done a few times. It's old, quaint and quirky. I love it. The staff are exceptional and the food and drinks are terrific.
The parking is limited, but having said that, the staff sorted a car park for me straight away - no hassles at all.
The room was wonderful, spacious and comfortable bed
The Saturday night pub noise ‘til 1am
Ease of check-in
Would have been nice to have some more breakfast options
Room very clean and spacious. Also very comfortable.
The really steep stairs to get up to the room - anyone with mobility issues would have a real problem ascending them.
Nice food
Narrow stairs
We loved the Brewery Tap for its friendly service, excellent rooms, good very well priced food and a finecl selection of beers. The Tap laid on music over thecl weekend l, which was a lovely surprise. The location is good with easy access to the river and close to major roads. The buffet breakfast on the landingvwas surprisingly very good
We stayed when temperatures exceeded 30C, the rooms were very hot and with no A/C remained a bit uncomfortable at night. The fan that was provided helped a lot but not sure what more that can be done without air con beingbinstalled
Room was comfortable
lack of airconditioning
Lovely room. Breakfast bar well stocked. Great coffee machine
Parking abit limited
Location was perfect and the room was exceptional.
Noise from traffic at night woke us a few times but other than that was great
Spacious well furnished room. Thoughtful complimentary breakfast
Not the best place to stay if you need to sleep before 11 on a Saturday . Limited car parking
Very clean, staff ultra friendly
Traffic very noisy passing outside on main road overnight
Bedroom with large comfortable bed
Very steep hazardous stairs, help yourself to prepacked breakfast from cupboard area on landing with croissants and butter past best before dates. Nowhere to eat breakfast, only in bedroom. Dirty breakfast crockery and cutlery not cleared and replaced until evening when we complained. Fruit not replenished as promised. Room not serviced during stay. All contrary to advertised “daily housekeeping”. Advertised “express check in/out”, but told to just leave key in bedroom door when leaving. “Free parking, private” was a lottery with only about 8 spaces just off pavement.
The Brewery Tap is a well positioned, friendly and lively pub. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds large and comfortable. Breakfast was located at a help yourself breakfast bar. I guess you would describe as Continental style, which we loved. There was plenty of choice and ample provision. We ate at the pub and went for the Pies, they were home made and delicious. Add to that, the tram.at the pub were friendly and helpful
The pub is a very old building, you need a bit of patience and wait a while for hot water to arrive. Not a problem for us but worth mentioning. We knew the rooms have no air conditioning, so the room can be a bit hot at night but the floor mounted fan helped cool the room a lit
Good location good pub
Breakfast and location were good.
At the time of booking we were not told about live music in the bar. This was very loud, intrusive in the room and didn’t finish until after midnight. Had we known we would have likely booked elsewhere.
Breakfast choice exceptional. 😋
Friendly staff, good sized room, plenty of character comgortable bed. Help yourself continental breakfast was decent.
lovely room, steep stairs and therefore not right for everyone. Huge bed. Great facilities
shower needed the head cleared with Viakal
Good location . Good choice for the continental breakfast . Rooms were separate from the pub and secure. Friendly staff. Fan in room was essential.
Lighting in bedroom and shower room quite low ( not bright enough.) parking for the pub is in fact on the pavement at the side of the pub by the side gate . Water in the sink took a long time to get hot.
Very comfortable room with a good bathroom and shower
Washbasin in the bathroom on the high side. Wire coat hangers in the wardrobe. Stairs up to the room very steep.
Spacious room very clean
Parking was a slight problem due to lack of spaces. The owner did offer to move their car for me to park.
Lovely staff. Lovely room - spacious & comfy. Clean. Lovely complementary breakfast to help yourself to which I liked & appreciated.
Single sash windows meant you could hear everything. Shower was dodgy using it when pub was open - water, no water, hot then cold. Worked fine in the morning though.
Good atmosphere
Steep steps to bedroom
Great traditional original and absolutely top team all
Rooms well appointed, help yourself to breakfast. Pub has great selection of drinks. Food looked good although didn't eat there.
Was quite noisy as right on high street. Middle of heat wave so had to have windows open, not really the hotels fault though :)
Lots of character, well located
Not too much parking available, but I did get a space
Very friendly and efficient staff. Large well appoint room and en suite. Good choice of beer and excellent food. Lovely pub dog.
Not a dislike, just an observation. On the day we arrived the car parking spaces were being used by Morris dancers (who we enjoyed very much) but we found a car park three minutes walk away which only cost £3 for the duration of our stay.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very confortable and large 'king sized' room well equipped with en-suite. Breakast was 'help yourself' from a food bar for consumption in the bedroom.
Access to room via a very steep staircase which would not be good for the elderly. Car parking OK but very limited.
Clean, great facilities, very comfortable. Lovely staff. Fab location for our needs. Have stated before.
Not a dislike just a note , live music goes on till 11.45 on a Saturday evening, so if you’re fine with that, great place.
We were walking the Thames Path so the location was good as not too far from the route. The room was large with plenty of space for our equipment. Although the building is on a busy road our room was quiet and we slept well. Good selection of beers in the pub. We didn't eat in the pub as we had overdone pub food during our walk, instead we went to the Italian restaurant (Limoncello) 1 minute walk away
Plenty of complementary breakfast just outside of my room. Excellent meals in the restaurant, best brisket I've had!!
Great location excellent rooms and great food too
10am checkout!!
The breakfast was really good. Right outside on the landing. Help yourself. Bedroom was so lovely, massive bed, lots of room, great sleep. And lots of history. Food was spectacular. Great variety. Great beer. Great location for walking to the town. We had an Amazing time and will stay again.
Everything was great.
The age and character Amazing unique food Helpful staff Extraordinary range of unusual drinks
Beer Garden Very steep steps
Continental breakfast left out really good
Warmest day of the year room very warm. Fan did help
Breakfast
Nice building, friendly atmosphere, fantastic service from the staff from point of arrival onwards. Good food and choice. Great range of beers. Really nice bedrooms.
Single glazing made the room quite noisy, but ear plugs resolved the issue.
Good location, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Could be amazing with a little more attention to cleanliness
Grubby carpet, sticky touch points, mouldy grout in bathroom
old building tastefully updated. Room excellent
Lovely, old town centre pub. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Food excellent pub food with bells on! Steak and kidney pud -rarely seen on a menu, was great. Beer plentiful and well maintained. Staff very helpful and considerate.
Parking is difficult anywhere near the pub. Breakfast is "do it yourself" and eat in your room. It works, tho'. Stairs to rooms are "lethal" and difficult for someone on crutches.
Room was nice, very rustic. Comfortable bed. Plenty of self serve continental breakfast.
The carpets need cleaning. Would be better if there were curtains as the shutters let a lot of light in from 4.30 in the morning.
Hotel room very clean and quirky which we like. The staff are friendly and I want to make special reference to the cleaner who has brilliant.
Breakfast buffet was lacking in imagination.
The staff were so nice, and they gave us such a lovely room. We ate there to, and it was amazing
Great size rooms, friendly staff, great location, good food, comfy bed.
Rattly windows
The hotel was lovely. The pub had a lovely feel to it.food was amazing
Nice decor, friendly and helpful staff.
No kettle in the room. It was draughty and the heater didn't work. I had to sleep with my coat on the bed.
Comfortable bed
Only 7 parking spaces, I had to park overnight in a public car park 10 minutes away The room was up a very steep flight of stairs and that was the only escape route in the event of a fire
Pub, beer garden and food are excellent.
Nowhere to eat ther continental breakfast except back in your room. My top floor room and steep steps made this difficult.
Historic, well maintained, and comfortable.
My only concern is that I had an early morning and couldn’t quickly figure out how to exit the property!
It was help yourself arrangement outside our roon
They didn’t make up our room but we also neglected to ask them
Very clean and comfortable. Location is right in the middle of town. Could not hear the pub downstairs as we had the room on top floor. Spacious for 2 people and the self service breakfast bar was great. Food and drinks at the pub were great.
The shower went hot and cold which was a little annoying. Traffic noise was very loud at night and early morning - highly recommend providing ear plugs.
Breakfast basic but good. Suited our needs
Shower a bit weak
food quaintness abingdon central location - near river
really quite as expected, nothing to not like
Easy to find and to park. Rooms very tastefully decorated.
Traffic noise was disturbing due to lack of double glazing
Really clean, comfortable furniture, spacious, friendly staff, accessible breakfast and easy access
The room was quite noisy in the morning with traffic going by quite loud, and it was very hot during the heatwave - clearly great insulation for winter but not for extreme heat!
Friendly. Clean. Great location. Very good pub food
It would be helpful to be warned about the steep narrow stairs up to the rooms.
Loved this place. Great pub. Great staff. Gorgeous room and perfect location.
Nothing to not like.
Comfortable, clean and centrally located with excellent food.
Slight issue with parking but was sorted out by staff.
Great location, very friendly and kind staff.
The room was warm and came with everything we needed.
Great room. Huge bed, nice bathroom.
Front rooms over looking a busy road so ear plugs suggested but other than that all good.
Great beer and sensational creole food. Lovely big room and stunning bathroom! Great live band also!
No parking near the hotel or in the centre!
Location was great, room was a good size, clean and comfortable.
Steep stairs up to the room.
The room was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the proper pub feeling. Great variety of beers. Also do have bands playing here.
The smoke alarm went off while the wife was using the hair dryer so probably over sensitive.
Very helpful staff, great food and beer
Parking limited
The room was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We found the room noisy from the bar below with music still playing much longer than expected.
Fantastic staff, good food and right at the end of the high street. Loads of character, and full of joy. A must visit!
No hook on the back of the main door, but that's all
We loved our stay. The pub on a Saturday night required dinner reservations a few hours in advance but it was so worth it. Room was very cozy and clean, amenities and snacks were also nice. The bus system to get to and from Oxford or the Didcot GWR station was extremely convenient and ran frequently. We would stay again!
Stay was great. The rooms are fantastic - clean and well equipped. Lots of character. Staff were great too, and attached to a pub which is top drawer.
Parking isn't great. Stairs up to the rooms are very steep, & while it was fine for me some could have problems
Pub and resturant good
No tea or coffe facilitied in room. Poor lighting.
Staff were fantastic. Food in the restaurant was amazing
Dinner was fine and breakfast more than adequate. Service was friendly and helpful.
The room would have been good except that it appeared not to have been checked or maintained for some time. The lighting was fine in the cupboard and bathroom but inadequate in the room itself. The main heating faded during the night. There was a supporting electric heater but this did not work at all; it seemed that the batteries in its controller were flat. The shower was unusable because it cut itself off after 2 seconds because the tap fell to off under its own weight. It was too far from the shower-head to hold it on with one hand while showering. Definitely not worth the price - but all could have been put right if the management checked occasionally.
Easy access and parking rooms comfy
Rooms clean and comfy , nice staff easy to check in Also we were going to a wedding so they allowed us to get changed early
Very friendly staff. Lovely pub. Great location and a really comfy bed!
Location in center of town
Hard to get luggage upstairs
Staff were fantastic. Made us welcome and looked after us whilst we enjoyed the great pub food, beer and atmosphere.
The option of a cooked breakfast would be nice but real effort had gone into providing an alternative and we understand why operationally this would be hard to provide. Loads of other breakfast options in town so we didn't go hungry.
Accommodating and pleasant staff Great food Lovely room
Limited parking when I arrived but once someone moved I was able to park but caused me some minor stress
Always a pleasure to stay at the Tap. Right in the middle of Abingdon, good grub, good beer, an entertaining Tuesday quiz ( even if we didn't win), and a toastie warm room
Just one side light a bit brighter would help those of us with older eyes! I had to use my phone light to apply my makeup
Nice room
Room was a bit cold as radiators not working
Good location- pub staff friendly and helpful.
Room was cold. Shower was cold or boiling - no happy medium
Plenty of self serve breakfast of good quality. Beautiful room and will definitely stay again.
One of the lamps tripped the mains so electrical testing required. But that's it!
Perfect location and lovely large room
Just off immediate center of town . If you like music , friendly but lively clientele , homemade pies , award winning ale.. than .. this is the place
Parking on site is hugely restricted , however there is a well lit and safe council car park , 3 mins walk as the crow flies . If you enjoyed the pub the first night but want some peace and quiet the second … this isn’t the place for you … lively buzzy all the time … great place
Lovely accommodation. Food was excellent. Staff were all brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. Even came out to meet us and guide us in as the high street was closed for the fair.
NA
The room was newly refurbished and was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was on a help yourself basis on a nearby landing. The staff were all very helpful.
The rooms at the front over looking the High Street might be noisy.
Locatie en sfeervolle accomodatie
Het lekte in de ochtend doordat de bovenburen gingen douchen
Matt was very nice at check in.
horribly ooisy with traffic right by my room. one large noisy truck unloading right outside my room, it was AWFUL
All the staff exceptional helpful and friend. The room was a really good size well set out clean and tidy. There is everything we needed for a short stay. Breakfast is set out in a fridge with a coffee machine and all of the things that were needed for the morning.
Nothing
Camera pulita e molto carina in un edificio antico. Possibilità di cenare nel pub a piano terra… ottimo rapporto qualità/ prezzo. Ci è stata offerta la colazione che si può fare in camera… davvero molto apprezzata.
