Lobster Sheringham

Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and any requests were not a problem. Room was clean and well appointed and bathroom was spotless with a good shower.

Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff.

We usually like a firm bed but this one was rock hard neither of us slept very well, some of the grouting on the shower was black. No dairy-free milk option for coffee and tea at Breakfast was disappointing.

The lobster is in a great spot in the centre and very close to the beach. Staff were all excellent. Love the traditional pub. Food amazing, lots of unusual choices. Room was modern but fitted with the pub.

Our room was a bit small. Some of the others were much larger.

Fantastic location and some free parking but this cannot be relied on. Paid parking just around the corner. Good size room, tea/coffe in room. Lovely and clean linen, comfortable bed, plenty of towels. Nice fresh breakfast included

The room smelt of smoke which wasn’t didn’t go away after airing out the room. The bathroom was clean, albeit the shower had a fair amount of black mold around it which produced a very overwhelming smell.

The room, it was in need if a plumber, the shower ran cold and very hot, the drains got blocked, we were told about this when we were in the room, that was to late to do anything about it, we booked weeks in advance.

I was here for the Potty Festival and the accommodation was very convenient. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The room had everything I needed. The breakfast was fine.

The room was looking a bit sad. Some new wallpaper and a fresh coat of paint would improve it no end. The window frame was deteriorating and the hanging baskets and all the pots around the pub were sadly full of dead flowers. No watering had been done.

Only issue was parking on site only 5? spaces and were always taken so bit of walk with your bags to and from - not sure if used by staff but understandable for small seaside town

The staff at the Lobster were very attentive also professional but above all personable and willing really nice people.

No Aircon in the rooms . They did provide a fan installed in the room on arrival it is probably a listed building after all l suppose.

A bit noisy

The Lobster is at the centre of Sheringham and as a regular visitor I've walked past it for YEARS. It does not sell itself as a hotel, it is definitely simply a lovely pub! Our stay was superb. Brilliantly upbeat and welcoming staff, super range of beers and an excellent breakfast. A huge bedroom with a Nespresso machine, 2 huge fans which were very welcome. Service at the bar was cheerful and the breakfast exceptional and all - included. A brilliant get away in the heart of Sheringham, parking nearby, beach & swims right there and plentiful supply of ice cream and coffee shops.

This is a pub in the middle of a thriving seaside resort, not a high end hotel ( tho quality of breakfast, attitude of staff were definitely high end!) some aspects of our room were a little tired, particularly the fittings in the shower room and loo and the paint on the walls had the odd ding. I'll definitely book again - a self catering option is way more expensive!!

Stayed on a monday night. Dylan the staff gentleman was excellent on arrival. Room was very small and I mean small. Food was terrible stuff. Almost bordering on a silly wetherspoons scenario , pay up front at the bar when you order, and such a pity. Stayed in Norfolk for one week. Lobster by name only

The staff were nice and friendly. close to the seafront. Breakfast was good

The room was was noisy due to the outside traffic and people walking past, they provided you with ear plugs to try to drown the noise out. unfortunately due to it being so hot the room was like a sauna and held the heat which was really uncomfortable. They did provide a fan but we had to turn it off as it got quite hot and was noisy. The bed was very firm and we found that uncomfortable.

We were upgraded to a family room which was spacious and well equipped. Very close to seafront.

Parking was a bit tricky but to be expected with the central location.

Location is great really near the beach, Breakfast Monday & Tuesday exceptional Weds & Thurs still very good but we could tell there was a chef change, plenty of areas to sit to eat.

Room had no air as only 1 window could be opened so this needs to be addressed , fan supplied but needs more air flow, not sure how the room works with health & safety as secondry fire exit had been blocked up and all windows bar 1 blocked or locked .

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Incredible location in the heart of the pretty sea side town

While I take personal responsibility for not asking in advance. It was really disappointing to fly to the UK with the intent to hike the north Norfolk coast to be told we couldn’t leave two bags of clothes on premises before 3pm check in. We had to cut our plans due to the added weight. A property based in a hiking location that doesn’t allow left luggage would leave me no option but to pick somewhere else next time and thats a shame as the place was great otherwise

This pub/hotel is in really bad state of repair! It dues t look like there is any maintenance or cleaning program since the refurbishments were boasted in February 2024. Our greeting on arrival was unpleasant by a female member of the team. She appeared harassed and when we encountered her again that day in the bar we both thought her manner was rude. So much so that we decided not to keep our dinner reservation and ate else that evening. Our bedroom, Room 1 was best described as “grim”. The divan bed creaked every time we moved it was apparent the next morning that a bracket was not attached to keep the two halves of the bed together. The bedding felt worn and the pillows and duvet were uncomfortable. The lighting was poor. The fan was broken which meant that the air pointed downwards only. The lidded bin in the bathroom was rusty. The shower enclosure was mouldy. The grout in the shower was stained and needed a proper cleaning. The bedroom window was absolutely filthy; the woodwork, the glass, black grime! The bar staff seemed too busy and everything in the bar, toilets, staircase to the rooms felt sticky and rather dirty. Outside - the patio areas are full of weeds. The planters have dead plants. The bench tables have visible rotting wood and the building has flaking paintwork everywhere.

Good location and well maintained

Location was good, small downside to that though was there was very limited parking and as such we had to park a couple of streets away in a pay and display car park which added to the cost of the stay and also might not be great in the rain or if struggling with luggage or mobility. Staff were very pleasant & helpful. Food was good for both lunch and breakfast. Room was spacious and clean, king size bed was super comfy for me, perhaps a bit hard for some but personal preference. Sink in the bathroom was a teeny bit small especially for brushing teeth but overall it was super clean.

Only real downside to the room was in that being as it was big and only one small window could be opened, the night we stayed was really warm and there was only one fan for the whole room which sadly didn’t really do much at all for the heat in the room, made sleeping a bit less restful than it could have been had it been cooler either by allowing more windows to be opened or a better fan or perhaps 2 in that room, we did request an extra one but there were none available sadly.

The staff here are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The Lobster is very clean & our breakfast was really tasty.

The bed was really hard, I would advise they get a mattress topper for the bed in room 6 and also as room only has a tiny window so was quite warm when we stayed.

Was woken very early by noise from deliveries and bin collection. However to be fair there were ear plugs supplied which in hindsight would have been useful if we have known to expect noise.

Staff were absolutely amazing, such a chill space, beautiful large clean modern room. Room was cleaned and beds made fresh on second night. Breakfast was amazing. Right near seafront. Mostly it was the staff that made our stay so very wonderful 😊

Couldn't fault it. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, spacious, and clean. Breakfast was great (and so was dinner!). Very dog friendly - even have a special doggie menu in the bar! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at The Lobster. Staff were extremely helpful . Our room was immaculate and very cosy. Breakfast was plentiful and very delicious. Will definitely come back again.

I am aware the hotel is dog friendly, but my son has An allergy to dogs and I believe the room had previously had a dog or dogs staying in it as my son had allergy symptoms and we had to treat with antihistamines. Maybe keep some dog free rooms or specify if the room has had a dog in there. Didn't spoil our stay tho and to be fare I didn't mention his allergy on booking so maybe could be avoided on our future visits.

Excellent Location, Great for the High Street and Sea front. The room was clean and well appointed. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Very good breakfast.

The room was somewhat cold even turning the radiator to max made little difference it barely got warm, and the bathroom was really chilly with no radiator or heated towel rail. We found the bed to be on the hard side obviously its just a preference.

No where to put bags if early to check in. Unable to park close so bought our bags from car hoping to store them somewhere but was unable to. So had to walk them back to the car.
