The staff were very friendly and accommodating
The hotel in general was tired and in places grubby
The serving staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, but the owners were not, we passed them numerous times in the 'snug' and they didn't take their noses out of their phones, and the snug area was a mess, with stuff everywhere, not a great way to greet a guest.
The shower was either freezing or scolding, it fluctuate between the two constantly, the binoculars were a nice touch but were broken so did not work, the bar floors were sticky and worse when washed, the tables weren't wiped down so we're also sticky (we ended up cleaning them for ourselves). The website says you can drop your bags off while you park, but the bags are left in a public area and are not secure, so don't. This used to be a wonderful pub, and we used to stay here every year but not any more. The only saving grace is the location, but definitely not worth the money to stay anymore.
Fantastic views, friendly staff, comfortable and clean, would recommend
We enjoyed it all , a lovely break .
The rooms were well kept, the beds were comfortable, the staff were happy and very helpful, the manager Julie was very welcoming and always happy to help, the food was , good selection on the menu ,great selection of ales and draught beers 🍻. The location was superb ,watched a lovely sunset from the terrace, pot boy lennox was a very nice lad always smiling, everything is on the doorstep, the little chocolates were sublime, good facilities in the room for tea and coffee, I would recommend the Two lifeboats to all my family and friends .
Location
Outside stairs( poor lighting)
All the staff we met were superb and couldnt do enough for us. The room was comfortable with a good selection of complimentary drinks and biscuits. We were fortunate to have a room with a view over the ocean which was really lovely. The pub is well located being at the end of the high street and a short walk into Sheringham.
Excellent location and nice rooms
Prices have risen and standards have dropped. Poor attitude from the management. Breakfasts inconsistent depending on staff. The room only got serviced 2 out of the 4 days even though we did leave the "Please make up room" sign on the door. Didn't have dinner because the menu was smaller then it used to be and the prices had soared.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good size bed in single room. Good breakfast. Room windows that open properly. Location. View.
No Sunday Roast!
The photos must have been 10 years ago. As now it was not worth the £185. In fact the shower once you got in you couldn’t move. I’m a normal size person. The shower had mold and hard limescale. The sink you had to run water for 10 min to get hot water to shave. The slip mat needed a good scrub or be thrown out. The bed was bad. The carpet was dirty so was the bed I didn’t dare look further as in pulling back the bottom sheets in case I couldn’t sleep. The decor was fine. Room small no wardrobe. Great view. Breakfast ok had a lot better fora lot less money. The people were smashing. They have to get the rooms updated for these prices. Just moved on to an amazing hotel and £45 cheaper.
Location and friendly staff
Nothing really all good
Bed was comfortable and meal was exceptional.
Pub shut early
The bed was so comfortable and the views were brilliant.
Decorating in bathroom was dated, but didn't effect the stay
Nice room with a great view
TV was not tuned in, did it myself, it also had weirdlight spots on screen
Excellent service and food
Nothing
Food, good location
Broken sinks, cobwebs, not clean enough, hard pillows
Comfortable room with stunning sea views.
Well that was some noise late at night from adjoining pub.
Everything
Very good breakfast. Close to the beach.
Comfortable room, great location, and friendly helpful staff.
Great location, comfy bed, tasty breakfast.
The only thing missing was a bottle of water in the room. Otherwise the hospitality tray was great.
Not up to its usual standard
Organisation and at breakfast we had to ask for milk weetabix yogurts and for place settings on the table also waited 40 minutes for breakfast
Where it is situated , room was very comfortable , staff were very friendly and helpful
Location to beach is fantastic
Need to pay to park (no parking at pub/hotel) but we did get a space so not a big problem
Superb location with sea views from our room
The food service was a bit slow
The breakfast was good, good selection of food.
The service was a little bit slow but the food and choice was good. The view from our window was spoilt with the steamed up window and the umbrellas outside
Our 2nd visit! Superb location, right on the seafront. Quite a quirky place. Great dinner and breakfast, catered for gluten free.
Nothing
The staff were incredibly good and attentive and made us feel at home. The parking can be difficult on hot sunny days because of it's ideal location but they told us about a car park around the corner on morris street which was literally a stone's throw away and that helped a lot. The room was hot but you can't be expecting a cold room when the suns cracking the flags and the breakfast was perfect. We were working until the wee hours of the morning and Julie the manager stayed awake like we were her kids waiting to hear us come through the door 😂. Thanks so much for looking after us, perfect place for a get away if that's what you are looking for.
Parking but it's right on the coast so spaces are limited.
Good location
Lack of parking, so parked at the station, fair distance away. Shame the canopies are in the way of sea view window
The location is superb with a great view from the bedroom. The room was very comfortable with good facilities for tea etc. The evening meal in the restaurant was good quality with a fairly good selection offered. The young members of the team were outstanding and were consistently very helpful and polite. They offered to carry our cases to our room on arrival and always greeted us when we saw them. Absolutely impeccable service from them. Loved having sunset drinks in the outside seating area which overlooks the sea.
The selection on the breakfast menu needs to be vastly improved. We were offered basic cereals, a few yoghurts and dried fruit. Maybe fresh fruit, natural yoghurt and pastries could be added. The quality of the cooking of the eggs was poor. When asked for well done eggs I was given runny and cold eggs. When senior management were politely spoken to re this matter the response was very rude and obnoxious which I found shocking. We have stayed at The Two Lifeboats before and have never experienced this attitude. After this incident I'm afraid to say that we were ignored by the same person throughout the rest of our stay.
Location and view, friendly staff, food.
Tricky internal stairs or external stairway, pub customers smoking outside under windows
Our room was very pretty with a lovely view of the high street and the sea. A table and chairs in the window alcove was a really nice extra to sit and have a coffee (also biscuits were provided) and people watch. The bed was comfortable and the bed linen beautiful. Everything was exceptionally clean. Full of character and lovely friendly staff. A great breakfast and we also had lunch here - a huge crab salad and fish and chips which were both delicious. Also we thought it might be noisy at night but it was so quiet. We had a fantastic nights sleep.
Can't think of anything it was all perfect
Great location, loved the sea view from the bedroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good.
The building is old which means there are a couple of practical things that aren't ideal but nothing that would stop me staying again. Because it has such a central location you can have the odd noisy person go by outside but generally the area is pretty quiet.
The room was very nice, Breakfast was first class. The view from our room was great. A word for the breakfast staff who served us during the week, they were lovely and a credit to you. also thanks to the staff we did not see, they were all superb.
Nothing.
A fabulous location with a super comfortable bed looking out on the sea. a delicious meal in the evening, good breakfast in the morning and friendly helpful staff. Good value for money so would highly recommend.
Great place nice room great location 👍
Staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. Location was excellent, with amazing sea views. Accommodation was very comfortable. Food was good.
Nothing
Great customer service, Friendly and helpful staff.
We had a lovely quiet room with a sea view. The full english breakfast was superb, and the kitchen were quite happy to change things. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Nothing
Great location
Most of the staff were lovely but the manager was very unhelpful and miserable
Excellent location, clean and tidy, staff were all lovely and food was good too. We had the Augusta room which has a lovely window and view of the ocean. Fabulous breakfast to set you up for the day!
Absolutely nothing!
Great location, excellent staff and great range of drinks with a good menu
The only thing we didn’t like was the shower as wasn’t very powerful but other than that everything else was good
Great location. Lovely room and excellent food.

Great breakfast, good sized portions and a decent menu. The room was very nice. Clean, comfortable and overlooking the sea, which was great. We had an excellent view.
Check-in was at the bar. The landlady was serving drinks, so we had to wait a few minutes. The staff of 2 young men (brothers?)and a young woman stood around not doing anything..... couldn't they be serving the drinks? Or checking in guests when they arrive?
The staff were friendly, the rooms were cosy and clean - lovely addition of the binoculars to look out to sea from the window. Breakfast was fantastic, location is second to none and I don’t have a bad word to say.
Not an issue for me, but the lack of parking may be a problem for others. Ample car parks around the area though with a short walk if required.
The room was lovely , sea view and comfy bed, and breakfast was superb
Excellent breakfast and staff who served it. The location was brilliant, being right in the heart of the town. The bar staff were also very welcoming. The housekeeping were very generous with their supplies for the room.
The king size bed room with sea view room was a let down unfortunately. The window was dirty and the top window blown with moisture meaning that having an actual real seaview was difficult. This was even after I had tried to clean it inside and out. The sink was severely cracked with filler on the inside. We were trying to figure out why so much air freshener was being used in the hotel and bedrooms then realised the carpet was very dirty and the mattress also smelt when we turned the strong air freshener off. The rooms are only serviced every two days even if you request it.
Enormous breakfast with good quality ingredients. Location on the beach, next to shops and pubs, brilliant
Going home!
Room was a good size.breakfast was 10 out of 10.
Stir case was very narrow.and steep.
Location
Nothing
The room was very good, The tea/cofee ect were very good. The shower cubicle was very small, a shame as the bathroom was a good size
We arrived early so went into the pub just to say we were there. but were suprised by the very curt, we were not allowed to book in untill 3pm which we felt was very uncalled for and did spoil our first impressions. The place was very busy as expected but there was no need for rudeness. Our main veiw is that it is a place with a fantastic beachside placing but the prices are very inflated because they know they have a lot going for them Ham,Egg &chips £20.99 and no better than basic pub grub
Everything was perfect ! Watching the sun rise thru the sea view window, and the sun set at night, was magical.....Sea and sky so blue....Even binoculars in the room to watch the fishing boats on the horizon, early in the morning, a comfy bed and lovely finishing touches in the interior design...all with a nautical theme, even the clock on the wall ! and bedside lamp... then a superb breakfast in the morning.....Having swims in the sea on the doorstep, and beautiful walks along the promenade, who needs to go abroad ..? ..thank you so much......
Sea views, lovely breakfast, friendly staff, clean room, food
Nothing to dislike
The handiness of the hotel to both the town centre and the sea front was marvellous. Handy pay and display car park nearby.
Good location. Sea view. Helpful and friendly staff. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Very good dinner, reasonable price.. Excellent breakfast. Very old, interesting building with homely atmosphere.
Very little storage space in bedroom. Nowhere to hang clothes. Black mould in shower.
Location
Old building in need of a major overhaul. Sticky tables in the restaurant/bar.
Comfy beds, fantastic breakfast, location
Very hearty breakfasts!
Great location great staff
Everything was great breakfast was yummy. Rooms were cute.
Pub and staff nice
Bathroom dirty and mouldy
How close it is to the seafront and the breakfasts were amazing staff were helpful and kind. Very relaxed and can come and go as you please
We have been coming for 5 years and feel the rooms maybe now are in need of a freshen up.
Love the room .. fab views looking over the sea. Have everything you need in and around you!
Nothing we didn’t like.
Perfect location with stunning sea views!
Nothing
Great location
Was basically a pub, letting six double rooms noisy till 23.00 because bar beneath rooms.
The cooked breast was excellent. I did not have any other meals there, but the menu looked good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The Two Lifeboats is in a very good location, right by the beach. I enjoyed waking up to the sound of the sea.
The room was lovely, a single room, but a 4 ft bed and a modern electric shower, the sea view was wonderful, the bed very comfy, and I will stay there again, a perfect location ....watched the sunset and the sunrise from the window.....above the sea...
Very good location with staff very attentive but needed more staff behind bar
Some of the tables were very sticky and sometimes left not wiped down after people had left. As I said need more staff behind bar.
Great location, staff were very helpful and pleasant. Very good breakfast.
The location was great for access to everything Sheringham had to offer
Nice location
Welcome was indifferent, we arrived early so said can we sit and wait and order some tea to drink in bar only to be told no hot drinks are served without an order for food! We had such a perfect stay last year which is why we booked again this year, it didn’t quite match up to last year where everyone was brilliant
The room was lovely with nice view, the staff where great we where able to get into our room early the bed was really comfortable Plenty of tea coffee and biscuits which was lovely room was clean and location was great breakfast was ok
The bathroom could really do with an update it lets the room down the sink is cracked and the shelf over the sink is sloping so you can't really put anything on it Breakfast was ok but we have had better
Good coffee, biscuits.
Shower was weak
Amazing location Polite and helpful staff
The room was very clean but bathroom needs attention Broken tiles, chipped paint and temperamental shower
The location was beautiful.. So much to see..
Was nothing to dislike
Food was great exceptional breakfast comfortable room and pub had good choice of drinks
There were a number of flys present in the dining room which made our evening meal and breakfast experience not as good as it could have been
Location
Breakfast spoilt due to hearing staff shouting and arguing in the kitchen, was a real shame as we booked our stay a year ago and was looking forward to it. Light bouncing of large canopy outside our window at night.
Breakfast was very good and the location lovely
Access to the 1st floor was difficult
View over sea, comfy beds, character property, friendly and helpful staff. Decent breakfasts. Staff allowed us to use fire escape stairs for easier access to 1st floor. Great location for person with mobility problems. Able to park for reasonable charge just across road ftom property.
Fittings in bathroom were tired, crack in sink and no hot water from sink. We didn't ask about access to rooms, so this was our fault, but internal stairs were steep and very narrow so bear that in mind! However, it did not spoil stay.
The staff were all so friendly and welcoming !
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. It had a sea view with seats in the bay window to look out. The bed was comfortable and 2 types of pillows. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was pretty good. Breakfast was included. There was a small range of cereals and a great selection of cooked items. The breakfast was average but the young lady serving us was very attentive and cheerful in her work. Parking was very close by and 24 hour parking was £11.50.
Very narrow staircase to the room. Was another entrance round the back but had to go up the fire exit stairs and a long way round to our room. The sausages at breakfast could have been better quality and the poached eggs were not runny.
View
No wash cloths. Bathroom walls and base boards were dirty.
Position and the caring staff.
Stairs to first floor bedrooms a little steep.
Awesome place , great staff , decent food and great location
The fact there was nothing to moan about 😂😂
The room had a wonderful view of the sea. Food was excellent - beautifully cooked fish for an evening meal and an excellent and substantial breakfast in the morning. The staff - and owner were all very welcoming.
Location right on the sea front
Shower was a bit small
Location was good, right on the front. Breakfast was good and the evening meal tasty but overpriced.
The smell of dog on the landings upstairs.
Clean great view
Sea view the staff were more than helps
Everything
Nothing to dislike
Breakfast was really good. Lovely view of the sea. Really comfy bed. Would stay again.
Didn't dislike anything.
Perfect location, car parking is £11-45 for 24hrs
Unfortunately the weather was windy and the windows did not seal properly, making it draughty, possibly that’s would be good in the summer 🤩
Location and food
The bathroom required attention and/or refurbishment. Also towel rail wasn’t working and shelf under mirror missing. Windows in bedroom were using folded paper to keep keep sealed when closed
The location fantastic The staff excellent
Despite being advised this hotel is only dog friendly in the bar area. They do not allow Assistance/Guide Dogs in the hotel. Rude uninterested manager very very unhelpful
Very comfortable room in a character property in an excellent location. Would love to return, need I say more?
Nothing of note.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
We loved the room it was so spacious and it was appreciated to have a really good shower and space in the bathroom. Rare these days but so glad for this here. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Very little, only small gripe the bed was broken/ sloped down and as we were leaving very early and had paid for our breakfast that we could take with us (a muffin or crossaint) we were offered a sandwich but no fridge to store it anywhere so politely declined.
Well positioned for exploring. A must visit is the local museum, just amazing.
The noise at the front of the hotel at night, drinkers mainly groups of raucous woman strangely, had to have the window closed. The breakfast was a little sparse, had poached egg on toast, the menu was on sourdough, came on cheap white bread, second morning I found a local place to eat much nicer and the food was much better than the hotel.
Nice quiet location and very good freshly cooked breakfast
Small rooms
Room was very comfortable with a sea view. The breakfast menu had lots of choice and the large English certainly set me up for the day.
Perhaps remember to put glasses out for the breakfast fruit juice
Great Breakfast and helpful staff.
The bathroom could use renovation but still clean
Delicious breakfast with a great range of options, including cooked items, sandwiches, and cereals. The cooked breakfast was especially good. The room had cute décor and a lovely welcome package with local sweets. I had expected a single bed but was pleasantly surprised to get a double. When I reported an issue with my room, it was taken seriously and quickly addressed. Excellent location, right by the beach, very central, and within walking distance of buses and the train station. I also appreciated being able to store my luggage after check-out as my train was later in the day. The owners and all staff (including those working in the pub and at breakfast) were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
My room wasn’t properly cleaned on arrival, although this was addressed when I reported it. The building overall could benefit from a deep clean and some renovation. The corridors were narrow, stuffy, and dusty, with a musty smell. Access to the rooms involves very steep stairs, and the doors leading to them are quite heavy on both ends. This felt unsafe, especially when going down, as the stairs were directly behind the door. Soundproofing was poor. I could hear noise from other rooms (snoring, bathrooms, phones ringing), as well as outside. The windows could do with better glazing. I wasn't aware the ''sea view'' room was above the pub garden, which meant there was noticeable noise from outside, and the street lighting came through the curtains at night. The fire exit sign inside the room was also quite bright. Storage in the room was limited, a chest of drawers or additional shelving would have been helpful. Wi-Fi was available but quite slow, even with two networks.
